/tg/ - Traditional Games

Your eyes slowly open and you find yourself floating in water inside a tank, but to you, everything is foreign. A tall figure with a long neck stands with its hand clasped together in front of you outside the tank. "Welcome little one. This is your first day.", it says softly with a mechanical voice that has a musical ring to it, "Your designation will be RC 01/145. We expect great things from you.", and with that everything flashes to white for you when they pull you out from the tank. While other babies are pulled from their tanks as well, there's one thing that seperates you from them; You don't scream.

4 years goes by without much contact with other people but these tall alien creatures that you've come to call your parents. One day you find yourself being instructed to take a seat in a small chair in front of a holo-console and start your flash training. With no prior knowledge of what's to come, you sit down. "You have been born into dangerous times. A sharp mind can be the key to survival.", one of the alien explains as the flash training starts, "But, as often as not, it will be your inherent physical traits that will win the day." - The flash training teaches you about language, history, strategy, tactics, the prinsciples of marksmanship, weaponry and weapon handling, leadership, engineering, and military doctrines. Every day you return to this console and continue your flash training. Others similar to yourself start to fill the room as well, sitting down at the empty seats to start their own flash training as the days passes by.
>>
>>37587389
However, one morning when you enter the room for your morning flash training, you find two boys with different cloths screaming and arguing with each other. The aliens are nowhere to be seen as you and your fellow brothers had now learned how to start your flash training yourself and you knew where you had to go after the morning classes. "I will not let you insult dad like that, you little shit!", the boy in a blue jumpsuit, the colour of a future ARC trooper, screams at the top of his lunges while repeatadly poking the other boy in the chest with his index finger for every word.

"I didn't insult him. I just said that he's a shitty person for favoring you gu--", the boy in a yellow jumpsuit, the colour of a future Commando like yourself, starts but is interrupted by a right hook from the boy in blue. A fist fight between them starts and with this being the first fight that anyone of the other boys has ever seen, they gather to marvel at the violence. You, however, have a different mindset to these things.

>Help the boy in Yellow
>Help the boy in Blue
>Ignore the fight and start your flash training

Hi, Whiskey here with Republic Commando Quest! A couple of short words before we start; I will include a character sheet and bio's once you've meet your entire team, so don't worry about that. When it comes to combat, there will be three rolls of 1d10, where you will succeed if the roll hits the DC for the action or above the DC. When it comes to voting, you'll have 10 minutes to vote before I close it and count the votes. Rolling to successfully get information out from someone is 1d100 rolled 3 times. Will probably get a better system for the next thread, but this will work for a starters. Thank you for your time!

You throw one glance over at the fight and decide that it's not worth getting involved. You're better than that, more disciplined than that. The boy in the blue jumpsuit is sitting above the other boy, throwing a flurry of wild punches at the arms that the boy on the floor is shielding his face with. All in all, it seems like a very one-sided fight, a petty one at that too. The fight soon dies down as security droids walk in to break it up between the two boys. When an alien steps into the room, the boys are taken away. You take a seat and begin your flash training while everyone else goes back to their own seats as well, disappointed at how it ended. Today you get to learn about the DC-17M Interchangeable Weapon System that you'll be using once you become a Commando. It is a shorter version of a high-velocity blaster rifle, but with it comes attachments that let's it become a sniper rifle, an anti-tank grenade launcher and a Ion pulse rifle depending on what attachment you put on it. Sniper rifle for long-range combat or assassination/covert operations, the AT grenade launcher to deal with any tanks as the name is implied or groups of enemies stupid enough to stack together, and the Ion Pulse attachment to either stun organic targets or fry the sensors of any droids you point at when firing, rendering them useless.

Another couple of years passes by without much happening. You notice that you grow at an incredible rate, as do all your brothers. Recently you've started to do more live simulations with and without armor and a simulation version of the DC-17M Interchangeable Weapon System equipped. The simulations are often you and three other random brothers working together to take down holo-images of battle droids and working together to complete ojectives like defending a designated area. It's fun and it's a great pause from the Flash trainings that have become increasingly less interesting over the years, even if they are still vital.

You never saw the boy in the blue jumpsuit again, but you have meet the boy who wore the yellow jumpsuit again since he's in the same program as you. His designated number is 1139, but everyone calls him either Three-Nine or "Joker" due to his inappropriate ability to crack jokes when it is clearly not the time for it and he doesn't seem to take anything seriously. You can't say you've grown close to him, but you do speak with him from time to time.

Today you've been assigned to report to Lama Su, the head director for the Cloning program. Over the few years that has passed, you've learned a great deal about these kaminoans and the cloning program you're part of. They made you from the DNA of a Mandalorian bounty hunter named Jango Fett and once the training and education is over, you will be called in to serve the Republic with all your heart and soul. After entering the room along with six other commando students, Lama Su turns to greet you, his hands finding each other in front of him.

"Today marks a historical event in your lives, my clones. Today you will pick which military area of expertise that you wish you put your efforts into. The holo-console before you has the choices that you may pick from. Only one at a time, starting from the left through the right.", he explains, motioning his long hands towards the console itself. You quickly notice that you're standing on the far left of the line of students. Time to make your choice.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but vibroblades can deflect lasers, right?
>>
>>37588165
Fucking weebs
>>
>>37588200
They have a cortosis weave which allows them to withstand lightsaber strikes and blaster shots.

Iirc, you pretty much need the force or a lightsaber to actually deflect.
>>
>>37588200
Yes, but you don't have force ability, its basically equivelent of trying to stop a bullet with a katana, sure it CAN technically be done but you don't have the stupid reaction time or prediction ability to do that. Jedi can only do it because they have the force equivelent of a spidey sense.
>>
>>37588245

cortosis really expensive- I doubt they sprang the cash for the weave.
>>
>>37588203
Its not about being weeb. Heck I don't even expect us to use the vibroblades often if at all. They are only feasible as a last ditch effort imo.
The enhanced reflexes however are key. In a universe where your reflexes falter you get blasted with lasers I would like to be the guy shooting first.

Gotta be quick on dat draw son.
>>
>>37588323
Clones are really expensive, particularly the elite soldiers. Even in comparison to droids they get pumped out at a 1-100 rate compared to both, its just that droids really suck in combat in comparison
>>
>>37588245
>>37588268
Gotcha. Oh well, fast reflexes will give us a pretty good leg-up, and vibro-blades could possibly save us in a clutch.
>>
>>37588330
>>37588353
Dodging is always a better solution than playing jedi, playing jedi will get us killed, we are not a lawful good pali jedi with god powers of dodging and avoiding shit, we are a moralless mildly emotioned clone that pretty much does whatever ordered, our very existance is entirely credited to warfare.
>>
>>37588200
>>37588245
Although you're right about Cortosis, Vibroblades don't use it to withstand lightsaber strikes

Vibroblades have a High Frequency vibration affect that stops the lightsaber from actually hitting the blade, but only if you hit it properly
>>
>>37588375
I like this. Quest thread players don't often get into character.

We're a soulless clone with mild emotions kicked in there to help in tactical decisions. Focus on staying alive, managing our resources, and getting the job done with acceptable loss.
>>
>>37588391
If were using anything short of anti tank weaponry to fight a jedi, weve already lost, you don't fight melee with a jedi. Same goes for sith, you use a massive amount of explosive ordnance and pray to any and every divine deity you are aware of.
>>

The Vibroblade is not supposed to let you go toe-to-toe with a Jedi

Not that we should, anyway, since the jedi are still good guys in the game's setting. We will onyl have to worry about them when they rebel at the end, we should be well prepared then.

sith or sith wannabes are a possibility.
>>
>>37588550
We probably wouldn't stand a chance against Grevious or Ventress anyway.
>>
Shit I saw this too late to vote.
>>
>>37588586
Grevious is easiest, his advantage is literally in just having four arms and reflex, he is less force inclined than we are, and that says something, we'd have the best chance against him compared to ANY other potential threat with even the slightest hint of force ability.
>>
>>37588611
Not necessarily. While his Force Sensitivity as a Cyborg is certainly questionable, he's still a Kaleesh Warlord, meaning he's a master strategist, and just as good with a rifle as any Clone
>>
>>37588611
He'd be easier, but by no means easy, and we'd still have almost no chance of victory if it were solely our squad versus him.

Two years have passed since that important decision in Lama Su's office. 10 years have passed since you were pulled from the tank where you were made. You now stand tall, healthy, and fit, resembling a Jango Fett when he was in his early twenties. The past few days has been nothing but training, eating, sleeping and more training. Something's happening and there have been whispers of a myserious robed man visiting the Kamino and talking with Lama su. Some say he looked like a Jedi, but since you haven't seen him yourself, you take that idea with a grain of salt. Why would a Jedi visit Kamino? To inspect the Republic's army? Words have spread that Jango Fett has left Kamino with his "real" son, as they call him. You never cared much for Jango Fett. He was nothing to you. He only meant something to the ARC troopers who had spent years training under his tutelage.

Then one day the call comes in, the lights in your room turn red and the sirens start wailing throughout the facility. War is knocking on the galaxy's door and who better to answer the call but the Grand Army of the Republic? You leap out from your room, equipping your training suit while making your way down the long winded white hallway. There are security droids and Kaminoans standing at the far end of the hallway, pointing out where each clone is supposed to go. Upon reaching them, one of them calls out your designated number and points towards the door to your right. After entering the dimly lit room, you notice a line has formed up and next to it clones are inspecting their new armor and weapons. Some of them fist-bumps while others remain emotional and ready for combat. You soon reach the end of the line get your armor (Katarn-Class Clone Commando Armor that can be modified and painted for personal usage later), weapons (the DC-17M Interchangeable Weapon System, DC-17 Hand blaster, Garrote, 2x Medium-long Wrist-mounted Vibro blades, 3x Thermal Detonators, 2x Ion Grenades) and then your helmet.

It doesn't take long until you're ushered into a white room where three individual clones are standing with their weapons at the ready. You recognize the one in the center to be Joker while the other two remain unknown to you before the kaminoan that guided you here speaks up.

"Three-Nine; Joker - He is the slicer and engineer of your squad.", she explains and Joker gives you a thumbs-up, "Ones - He is the demolitions expert of your squad.", she motions towards the clone commando that has an antenne at the back of his backpack and stands to the right of Joker. He nods solemnly at you. "And the last one is Six-Oh; Mute - He is the marksmanship specialist of your team.", and the last clone to the left of Joker who's standing a bit in the background looking out through the window raises his hand in a salute after throwing a quick glance towards you before going back to sight-seeing.

"This is your squad; Sierra Squad, Commander. You will take flight momentarily and be deployed onto the battlefield. You will be briefed on your mission and its objectives before landing. Good luck, Commander and Sierra."

Who do you fly into Geonosis with? The other two will fly together so Sierra squad starts out seperated from each other, but will link up during the mission.

Hey, In Star Wars 3 Cody seemed to have a pretty healthy relationship with Obi Wan, we saw them make jokes and banter between the two of them, ask how each other was doing, and even wished each other luck on a profound level. Cody even went out of his way to hold onto and return Obi Wans lightsaber.

He accepted an order to fire on obi wan without question and searched for him when he couldn't find a body so as to finish the job.

The rain is pouring down hard all around you. You're standing the midst of hundreds, maybe even thousands of gunships landing, loading in troops, ordnances, weapons and then flying off. In the distance you can see thousands of white clone troopers walking in perfect formation into the large venator-class Star Destroyers. Had you not been in the commando program, you would have marched with those brothers you too. However, you've been dealt a different deal in your short life; Clone Commando, the elite of the elite. While ARC troopers stayed on Kamino in statis-pods, you lot get to see action and help the Republic from day one!

"New gunship! Okay, group B, let's move it!", you hear a nearby sergeant yell at his group of troopers, "Push those cannons to the stern! Load the ammo and ordnance!", They rush into the nearby gunship, its blast doors seal shut and then it takes off into the air. After the gunship has lifted, you feel a tap on your right shoulderpad and a voice calls out to you over the comm.

"Sir, we're going to split up for the drop, but we'll meet up at the RV on Geonosis!", Ones voice is clear and loud, as if he's trying to hear his own words over the rain, "See you planetside, Sir!" - and with that he and Joker runs off to a nearby gunship and climbs aboard. It doesn't take long for them to lift off and disappear into the rain and dark clouds above. A gunship lands only a few meters in front of you, the pilot signalling you to get onboard. First one to climb into it is Mute followed by yourself and a couple of clone troopers who will drop down with you, but then seperate from you on the planet. You grab onto the handle hanging from the roof to steady yourself as the gunship takes off. From what you can remember from the flash training, the gunships will place themselves inside a super carrier and after that the large ship will leave Kamino, jump to hyperspace and once they all reach the orbit of Geonosis, the gunships will be deployed.

You feel a pressure in your head, you try to ignore it. The pain gets worse and worse, eventually becoming blinding. other clones stare at you as blood begins to pour down your face. You collapse on the ground and begin to convulse. Suddenly the biochip gives way and explodes, plastering your brain on the inside of your helmet.

The Clones had a bio chip in their brains containing contingency plans - especially order 66 - to compel compliance with those orders. In TCW one's chip is faulty and causes him to execute the order early in the middle of a firefight.

All the ones I knew are dead, sorry.

In retrospect, maybe it was for the best.
>>
>>37589733
Because rolling dice to determine how a character reacts to a social situation is dumb and screws with characterization.

Rolling dice for events like firefights, dodging things, and split second chances of life or death should be what dice are used for.

The only time when a roll should be used to affect a (player) character socially is when an event overtakes their senses or drastically damages their mentality. ALA sanity checks like CoC.
>>
>>37589830
Eh, dice are fine so long as you set the pass on how good of an argument / how reasonable a failure us (for example, rolling to fly would be a dc 99 for obvious reasons, while rolling to take a piss would be a dc 5, and rolling to not spaghetti could be a dc 50)

>>
>>37589830
Fair idea. But what if an autistic kid rolls up a bard? He'd never be able to aptly RP a bard's charisma. That's where rolls come in.

RP is still important, but without rolls you're more self-inserting than playing out a character.

>>37589859

Perhaps I said it wrong. I'm fine with rolls being used to be social towards NPCs in fact without that most of my characters probably wouldn't have gotten anywhere with anyone.

What I meant to say was that for social dice a GM shouldn't be:
>Playing a paladin
>Confront a Balrog
>P:"Time to die demon!"
>GM: The demon rolls to convince you to join it instead.
>Opposed roll. GM rolls a 19. Player rolls a 2.
>GM: The Balrog convinces you that it is better to work for it. Because LOL charisma.
>P: But my character would never join a demon it goes against everything I stand for.
>GM: Too bad, rolls. You now work for the demon. LOL. You fall.

Dice should be used properly while RPing. That's all I meant.

The gunship has landed inside the super carrier and you've recieved strict orders to remain inside the gunships as to not have to repeat the same drill over again before they can take off once you all reach Geonosis. As far as you can tell, the super carriers have jumped to hyperspeed judging from the small bump you and your brothers experienced only an hour ago or so ago. Looking about, you can clerly tell the difference between Commandos and regular Clone troopers; Your armor is more "shiny", has a few more gadgets and attachments and your weapons are quite different than the standard blaster rifles that the troopers have been issued. You can hear whispers about you and Mute in the back of the Gunship, but your thoughts land somewhere else.

"A massive clone army.", the thought strikes you as odd at first, "What kind of enemy is the Republic facing that could be so dangerous that they need such a grand army?", your thoughts almost envelope you where you stand. Of course you and everyone else has already been breifed about the droid army of CIS and the state of Geonisis and where the bulk of the forces will assault the Hive Spires, the arena, and the Core ships. Sierra Squad wasn't breifed about their objectives though, not yet anyhow. Since the gunship remains steady and still inside the super carrier, you move freely inside of it, making your way over to Mute who is still holding onto the straps hanging from the ceiling.

"What's your status, Six-Oh, or do you prefer to be called Mute?", your question doesn't initially catches his attention, but when he notice your presence he finally registers what you just asked. He salutes you, "Sir, permission to speak freely?". You nod at him, still trying to figure out what kind of character he has. He relaxes after you nod at him, letting the hand that saluted you fall to his side again, "I'm thinking, Sir; Of home, and my bed.", he almost whispers to you, to which you raise an eyebrow.

As if he saw the surprise on your face, he continues to explain himself, "We left Kamino two hours, 32 minutes and 12 seconds ago. I miss it. I miss my baby girl." - You're not sure what to say to that. Aside from the different way he speaks, he can't be talking about a real, living clone girl or something of the sort, right?

"What do you mean?", you ask sternly. No point in appearing embarrassed in front of your squadmate. Mute looks over at you again. "Forgot her. My personal scope.", he oks away, letting his gaze fall back to the floor of the gunship. This meant he'd have to use the standard Commando scope attachment. You let your hand rest on his shoulder, comforting your brother. You didn't quite understand his affection to an item, but maybe it was justified somehow? After you're done with that, you turn to the other troopers in the gunship.

"Men.", you call out to them, catching all of their attention, Mute included, "Take off your helmet.", you order them as you take off your own helmet as well. They do not hesitate and remove their helmets. "Look around you. We are all brothers of equal worth. He is a Commando of Sierra Squad.", you gesture towards Mute, "I am a Commander of a Sierra Squad.", and you place your hand upon your chest. "You are a trooper.", you continue, pointing towards a clone trooper on the opposite side of you.

"What is the difference between us?", you ask, looking at the faces all around you. They all look the same, even though some of them seem to show different emotions or thoughts in their facial expressions. "You lead while we follow?", a trooper finally speaks up. You stare straight at the trooper. He doesn't falter at your gaze. There's a short pause filled with tension. One of the nearby soldiers are twitching. He probably thinks this Commando will assault one of his clone brothers. He forgets himself.

CONT.
>>
>>37590139
"No.", you say bluntly, "No. What is the difference between us?", you ask again, but this time you answer your own question after a short moment of added silence, "There is no difference! We are brothers! We have always been brothers and will always be brothers. We are flying into a war, for how long it will last, I do not know, but I do know this; We are brothers, and nothing will ever change that.", your short speech has made every eye inside the gunship to fix upon you.

"What is the difference between us?", you ask again, followed by several troopers voices, "There is none!", and so you continue, "What are we?!", and the roar from every single trooper inside the gunship but Mute is unified in its response: "BROTHERS!" - You've raised the morale inside the gunship and prepared them for the upcoming battle the best you could.

The ship will soon arrive to Geonosis, what do you do now?

>>
>>37590243
Maybe it was an extreme example but I was trying to get a point across.

Perhaps I should be more accurate to the confines of this quest. Lets say the Hypothetical situation where we are near Jedi when order 66 is sent out.
Given the personality of R/C 01/145 would he believe the order at face value? If he does would he resist his chip and training (this would prompt a resist roll or possibly character death based on GM)? If he does but doesn't resist he should start shooting the Jedi.

If he believes the order is an enemy trick then why would he roll to resist? His training tells him to follow orders but if the order jeopardizes the mission the fact that we have thoughts would allow us to interpret our training and orders. I'm sure if a droid or enemy commander picked up a Vox off a dead trooper and gave the "self terminate order" no one would listen because that'd be stupid.

tl;dr Dice should enhance how characters interact, not be the "go to" for situations. (Exceptions may exist like >>37589973 said)

Hey, don't bitch to me, I wanted stealth. Also Even in Battlefront II ARCfags were ARCfags who literally only had the advantage of mobility.
>>
>>37590540
I think that if we had a reason to protect the Jedi due to a mission, it would be easy to blame it on an enemy taking control of the comms. Mission is first.

However, if we're just chilling in the woods with them and we get the order, we could either try to resist it (for no real IC reason) or shoot them. There would be less of a reason to protect them if there was no mission hanging in the balance.
>>
>>37590664
Thats actually a good point, in an escort mission priority 1 has already been given and its been to keep your target alive at all costs. If an execute order goes out it actually violates that priority and thus can be considered in depth and varified. Of course, this would give any jedi around during that a massive head start as the whole chain of command would be argued about with it until it was confirmed the command actually came straight from the emperor. Any jedi with half a brain would be gone by that point at a minimum.

Pulling off your backpack, you start to check your equipment for any malfunctioning weapon and doing an inventoring for safe sake; DC-17M Interchangeable Weapon System with the Sniper/Anti-Tank Grenade Launcher/Ion Rifle attachments all included, DC-17 Hand blaster, 1x Garrote for a not-so-messy assassination, 2x Medium-long Wrist-mounted Vibro blades, 3x Thermal Detonators, 2x Ion Grenades. The Rifle is clean and hasn't been fired with yet as far as you can tell. It has 300 rounds in it and you got enough ammo packed into your backpack to not be concerned about it. Your regular rounds work for your sniper rifle, you have 5x Grenades modified for your grenade launcher, and the 40x Ion rounds came with the Ion rifle attachment. The thermal detonators and the Ion grenades are bound to work, and if they don't, what's the worst thing that could happen? You'll blow up with a thermal detonation and you'll be stunned for 60 seconds from the Ion grenade. It's the least you could do for the Republic. Jokes aside, your equipment looks to work perfectly, but you won't know for sure until you reach Geonosis.

"Will you be alright with the standard scope, Mute?", the question promts a short nod from Mute who then goes back to checking his own equipment. He must have seen you doing so and figured he should do the same, "What do you expect that our first mission will be?", and this time the question makes Mute pause and look over at you. "Search and Destroy, Sabotage. Covert Operation. Assassination. The duty of a Commando.", and then he goes back to checking his rifle with the sniper attachment on it. Nothing more to speak with him about and with the troopers all riled up, your job as a leader is done for now. Time to wait.

A hour passes by until the super carrier finally exits hyperspace and not long after that the ship shakes a bit as it enters the orbit of a planet. "It's showtime, brothers!", the pilot shouts from the cockpit and the troopers cheer at him. You and Mute remain calm, cool, and collected as the gunship lifts from the ground and starts to take off into the air followed by hundreds of other gunships, each carrying whole squads of clone troopers. The gunship takes a dive and then forms up again in balance with the flying ships. From the small holes in the door you can spot the red sandy dunes and the natural stone towers that the ships pass by. Geonosis, you're finally here.

"Commander Four-Five, Codename: Chief. Clone Commando and Commander of Sierra Squad.", you hear a voice cut into the comm in your helmet. You have no idea when you got that codename, but it fits for now. The voice calls out to the rest of the team as well before it introduces itself, "My designated number is 1133, but you can call me Advisor. I will serving as your military liaison for this assault, Sierra Squad. Do you copy, sir?"

"Yes, I copy, Advisor. What are our orders?", you ask over the comm right before a nearby gunship is blown to pieces close to the gunship you're in. The battle is close. Good men just dead. Your brothers. A fire is burning inside of you. It's time to live or die, fight or submit.

"Once you are on the ground your first objective is to rendezvous with Sierra Ones and Sierra Three-Nine and link up with them. The squad's main objective is the following: Assassinate Sanc Qun, the High General of the Geonosian Army and the Right hand of Archduke Poggle the Lesser. No matter the cost, he MUST die. Your second objective is to retrieve data on CIS concerning other Droid factories, military numbers, and information about High-profiled confederacy figures across the galaxy. Both of these objectives can be found and completed in the Hive Spire you're going to infiltrate. I've marked the location on your HUD. Any questions?", the Advisor ends his short rant.

Your Katarn-class armour protects against several blaster/plasma shots before it gets through. Does it protect you against being blown into pieces? No.
On top of that, you're outfitted with a personal shield as well. It's not as strong a Vanguard Commando's shield, but it's still there.

Everything starts to shake violently, but since everyone inside the gunship is holding onto their straps, no one falls out. The gunship is crashing towards the ground at an incredible speed. "Chief!", you hear Mute call to you over the comm, "Chance of survival, low! Jump!", he roars before he launches himself out from the gunship. The other troopers didn't hear him as he spoke through your private Commando channel. The cockpit is burning and after another explosion, one of the gunships wings is torn off.

What do you do?!

>Jump! It's suicide to stay on the crashing gunship!

We get him next mission and keep on ending up with him as or pilot afterwards.

He gets shot down while trying to come to our rescue during a mission that goes FUBAR, he still manages to crash the ship into the enemy forces and causing enough damage to let us escape.

After Mute launched himself off the gunship, you immediately push the nearest trooper off the ship. Another clone trooper next to you notice this and shouts "Sir?". You look over to him and grab him by the neck, "What are you doing, Sir?!", he screams before you throw him off the ship as well. "Jump!", is the last order you give to the men before you too leap off the crashing ship. Upon landing on the somewhat soft sand, you roll and get yourself up quickly. You're in enemy territory now, can't lie around for too long. You hear some groans nearby from soldiers that jumped off the gunship with you as well the two you threw off of it. There's no sign of Mute though.

"What the frakken hell was that, Sir?!", the soldier you threw off shouts at you, but you ignore him for now. You need to find Mute and figure out where you are and how far the distance is from the LZ. "Are you listening, Commando?", he continues after finally reaching you.

"Calm yourself, soldier. You'd be dead if I hadn't thrown you out. Stay frosty and let me think.", you order him and he complies, although a bit reluctantly. In the distance you can see the Hive Tower your squad is supposed to infiltrate, but your first objective was to link up with your the other half of you team, but now even Mute is gone.

"So, what do we do, Sir?", another couple of the surviving clone troopers has reached you as well. You throw a glance across the deserts and the stone towers dotting it and then you look back at the Hive Spire.

CONT.
>>
>>37592423
>All squad members paint 8 on there shoulderpads in memory
>Become known as the crazy 8's
>>
>>37592458
"The spire is our objective for now. That's where the battle is at and that's where we are needed the most.", and with that you and the surviving 4 clone troopers move out. You look back from time to time to see if Mute comes crawling out from the sand, but he's nowhere to found. Hopefully he'll rendezvous with you at the visible Hive Spire in the distance. Checking the comm, you notice that it's nothing by static at the moment. Something must be jamming communications. With your rifle in hands, the treck towards the battlefield starts.

I'd rather stay as close to canon as I possibly could. Don't worry though, Order 66 will be at the end of this Quest (if we reach it) and then you'll have plenty of reasons that could justify disobeying the order.

Or you could follow the order and join the Empire.

>What difficulty we are playing on?

Major events will still play out as they did in the canon works, but how these major events affect Sierra Squad and their missions is very flexable and we'll see what happens.

The true objective of this quest has revealed itself.
>>
I've been thinking and I've come up with valid arguments for multiple positions on the execute order

Position 1: Its the emperor, if you object you are in direct violation, follow through

Position 2: Go up the chain of command to verify order, if the emperor himself deemed the situation important enough to order once, surely he'd get back to you again. Notify jedi there might be a delay as you have to determine whether this order is legitimate or not, and this might interfere with his missive so he will have to go ahead.

Option #2.1: When the emperor himself does not bother to get back to you and whoever at the chain of command stops you and orders you to go through with it, you must assume that everyone up to that point has been compromised and that would make the jedi highest in command, up until you run into a commander who doesn't try to shoot you for protecting the jedi.

Option 2.2: Once a commander confirms its validity begin searching for the jedi, surely he couldn't have gone TOO far away by now (even if you've told him you have a conflicting order that directly violates the order to keep him alive).

Option #3: Really droid army, do you really think we'd believe the emperor would bother to contact US, in the middle of a mission requiring us to conviniently protect this target. Yeah right... Assume anyone who disagrees is compromised/droid spy, wear tinfoil hat.

Well, its up to walker. If we wanted to go cassus fett, we'd need neo crusader armor, which looks like the blue armor from the KotOR games. Mandalore the Ultimate, who was riding that baslisk wardroid, amd his predecessor both wore robes, and i dont have a good picture of their combat armor. My best advice for imitating old republic mandalorians are half capes that double as scarves (you know that cloth thingy boba wore) as well as a red tinted visor with gold and red styling all over our katana armor. We should learn to use melee weapons, as close combat was considered the highest form by old mandalorians. Our twin blades and reflexes help, but we'll need some advanced energy shielding sooner than later

Thank you for the correction. I was too lazy to check. I also discovered that colors on armor sometimes meant something to mandos on the wiki

green meens duty if we want to be ultraloyal emotionless clone (like fixer, who wore green)
Orange is a lust for life
blue is reliability
red means nothing to use as it means love of a father, and OP said we felt nothing for jango
justice and vengence are alien concepts to us this point, so I doubt we'd want black or gold.
if we get our whole squad wiped we could do grey for mourning

Again, sometimes colors were just colors the mandalorian liked. But this is an option when we try to customize

Again, we just started. We're white and fresh. Deoending what happens on this first mission, things might change. If we get a squaddie killed to kill Sun Fag, green and gray could be an option, or for lone survivor scenarios, grey and gold. If we some how fail mission 1 or dont do secondary objectives, we haven't earned our reliable blue.
>>
>>37600922
I mean, that's what I was thinking. Its why I posted all this crap I stole from wookiepdia. But i dont want to sabotage commando quest and make it Jango Fett squad quest. the way OP said we were never close to jango like the arcs also gives us the opportunity to be all "ranger and or CAG". that would be a sexy combination of cammo web gear over white hard armor, which also gives me boner.

Dont even man. Rangers and their mission have widely increased in scope since operation gothic serpent. they aint elite infantry anymore, their goddamn spec ops. CAG's based and everything, but their operstions are usually in enviroments that the US isnt publiclly involved, doing deniable operations and shit. Clone Comamandos as potrayed in the vidya are most like Devgru in all honesty, high tier operators operating in very small groups in a warzone. the rsnger suggestion was more of suggestion for our attitude, saying if we go green and blue, we can be all fucking army ranger school style hooah.

Don't you dare insult us and our brothers like that, Seals can go kick doors all day long but they can't hold a candle to clone commandos, also Devgru is still trying its hardest to make it into tier 1 and failing, much to the amusement of everyone else in the community, hell Gold Team are the only ones accepted from NAVWARSOC into tier 1 by the rest of the community so far, and for good reason.

But no, as much cross branch rivalry as there is, and as much crap the seals have been getting recently for all these glory seeking faggots in their ranks, their proficiency is on par with CAG as far as I am aware, and their difference lies in their use: devgru in war, CAG in places we aren't at war with yet.

And rangers have really stepped up a lot. I mean, shit they aren't tier one, they aren't even on green beret/seal level. But they dont just play security for the big kids anymore.

This is also deviating from topic quite a bit. We could do this on /k/. They need something to stir up this ar/ak/humor thread general stangnstion thing they got going kn
