Interlude: Illusory Script

You are quick and you are quiet, as per your own wish you have remained unseen. These days you have so few of your own wishes. Masters inscrutable to you by their own will have wished you to shadow a human girl struggling through human things. Sitting invisible in her room as she tosses and turns during her extended and incubatory slumber, you let your curiosity take you.

Why do they want you to monitor this becoming shadow? Why do they want you to report all actions of her slow evolution? Why do they want you to wait until she has finished transitioning before revealing yourself to her? It will take days before she comes into her power and becomes one for your masters, so you will be quite bored.

At least, at least your masters do not want you to be seen. You hate being seen. You like being subtle.

It is in this subtle curiosity that you boot up her computer and begin browsing her files and history. Saved chat logs, reports received by her club members. This young woman has impressive skills at arranging an intelligence network, herself sitting primly in the center of the web. Appropriate given the nature of what she is to become.

So obsessed with another, much like how your original self was obsessed with being alone. Its almost fascinating, looking at the madnesses of others.

She stirs to wake, and quick as air you are unseen. You will continue to shadow her as she goes through her day, watching the signs and preparing her to be used to confirm or debunk the claims of the one known as Eclipse.

Quest Start

Its a long walk back to your house from Midori’s apartment, but thanks to the chatter between the four of you it does not seem to take very long at all. The initial teasing directed at you, and subsequent explanations of your whole...thing...with Sasha gave way to similar indictments of Kairi and her interest in Gai, Koito Kinno’s obvious attraction and senpai worship, and then back around to Keiko’s own string of organized admirers.

Midori was not free from the jabs and jests, as she continued to adjust to the presence of Jadeite within her mind through the ring you bonded to her with the charge of being your Jadeite Knight. You may have let slip a few of her more public crushes from your shared fashion circle, wondering if they were sincere or just covers for herself now that she-

She punched you in the shoulder, jokingly, to Keiko’s & Kairi’s laughter. She has an arm, a really good arm. You rub the sore spot by your shoulder, you don’t really think she even meant to hit that hard. All too quickly you are reminded of the desk she hurled at Jewel Thief when he came for Keiko.

“We haven’t even talked about coming out yet,” she grouses, “So don’t go making jokes so casually,”

You are Mikage Chiba, second year high school student age 15 and presently the mysterious protector and ally of the fourth Sailor Moon known only as Eclipse. The fourth Sailor Moon is your little sister; after you, your older sister, and your mother.

Presently you are with your friends, Kairi Osaka, Keiko Sugimoto, and Midori Mori, on the way to your family’s house for what may be an awkward situation. You have resolved to go to a briefing being held by the original Sailor Senshi and the JSDF’s Paranormal Incident Task Force, but first you have to broker a potentially tense meeting between your mother and your friend Keiko.
>>
>>36190697

In a past life, Keiko had been a sorceress possessed by a dark and dangerous entity whose machinations resulted in the ancient civilizations of the solar system being wiped clean of life eons ago. You’ve saved her from being so possessed in this incarnation, cleansed her soul that she may pursue her own heart and her own destiny. Others have tried to do something about her then impending possession as well, namely kill in revenge before she could come into that state of power. That and your mother and father were star crossed lovers in that distant past, Prince and Princess of kingdoms separated by gulfs in magic, technology, and space that fell to that dread power.

Twenty years ago that evil, reincarnated, returned to conquer earth anew. Your mother stopped it. Stopped her. Keiko, free of that dark entity’s influence, seeks to reconcile with your mother for her past lives parts in those events. Forgiveness for the folly and death brought upon by her then unrequited love and jealousy.

...you wanted a normal life, you really did. Oh well, no turning back now. The four of you approach your family home. WIth the turn of a key and the press of the door, you find an empty living room, but the obvious sounds of activity elsewhere in the house. Sliding off your shoes, you...

Artemis, really? This is Usagi we're talking about. She'll be hugging Keiko and lavishing her with love in a heartbeat. It's Mamoru that's who I'm worried about.

We're off the books associates.
Still tricky to show up to top secret meetings.
I'd like PIT at large to believe we're separate from the Scouts as well. Appearing at a briefing that is effectively all about them might stretch that.
>>
Oh, don't worry, I'm about to have a whole different shitstorm.

So...how many votes did we get...while we only had six unique posters in this thread.

Myself,

namefags Scholar & Gnash

And three anons.

Versus...8 votes.

Subtract 1 and 1 because Gnash voted twice because he thought he misposted, Leaves us with 6 other votes and four potential voters.

Should I be upset? Possibly. Will I get upset? No. This is now a friendly reminder that there is now a counter for the number of unique posters in a thread. Please keep that in mind for the future, okay guys?

Oh, I was too busy playing Valkryia Chronicles and didn't notice the thread had started. And yeah there's an old version of the 4chanx plugin that doesn't have the poster count. Also I noticed in the last thread that individual posters didn't match the votes, as well.
>>
>>36192051
I got you thinking that you were missing something, I got you clicking in the first place.
>>
>>36192100
I was missing something. I lacked a poster counter thingy. I now have it.
>>
>>36192100
Artemis started the whole id count talk.
>>
>>36192144
And I simply asked "why do some have it and others do not?" then sought an answer. Artemis then gave the answer, but an answer can't exits without a question.
>>
I just got here a minute ago and needed to catch up.

Since I was re-reading old threads recently to refresh myself I remember spotting some things that could be coming up later but can't remember most of them beyond the Mars Rovers, or at least two of them, being plot relevant, although I think we all know for what by now, and that our Boxer friend and his bear cavalry are likely the ones with the other half of the Golden Crystal?

I ended up skimming so I don't know if that was ever brought up.
>>
>>36192195
Sasha and Tuxedo Bear? On the to-do list. Mikage can only do one thing at a time. Mars Rovers thing has been kinda explained with Operation Space Mommies.
>>
>>36192195
That seems to be the running theory, though you don't quite suspect that in-character yet, Though we do have a nice semi-cryptic scry-vision hinting that he+bear could be something of some sort of interest beyond romantic/friend.
>>
>>36192195
Wasn't it more than one shard?
>>
Quietly you step toward the stairs, motioning for the girls to follow you and make a shushing gesture. After removing their owns shoes in the sunken space before the carpet they follow and you walk in line up the stairs. Not making overt use of your stealth skills, you just ascend into the second floor hallway without talking.

Music and conversation blares from behind Usa’s door, you aren’t sure who is there. Koyomi’s door is cracked and you can see part of your father sitting on her bed. Meanwhile you can hear an animated conversation, though muffled, beyond the door to the master bedroom.

Decisions and decisions.

>We’re on a mission, acquire Mom’s attention. (Do we open the door, knock, or say something, what do we say if we say something)
>See what’s up with Koyomi and Dad
>Mystery Sister beckons...now that you acknowledge her as your sister.
>Into the Study, I didn’t plan far ahead. We need to regroup there.
>Into your room, it’s safe and everyone can get comfortable
>Write in
>>
>>36192245
And here's where I differ. When Mikage purified the Bear shadow, she saw a small, feral boy inside it. That, combined with the recently performed Divination, I think Mikage knows something's up. And it just might be the Earth crystal, given the whole 'glimmer of light'.
>>
>>>We’re on a mission, acquire Mom’s attention. >knock, or say something
Mom, you there? Need another conversation with you.

>>
>>36192293
>>Mystery Sister beckons...now that you acknowledge her as your sister.
Let's live dangerously.
>>
>>36192294
We certainly think there could be a connection to that incident. Think we'll need to meet Boris before we're certain, also chat with the recovering girl and see what all happened before we arrived.
>>
>>36192293
>We’re on a mission, acquire Mom’s attention.
Knock, say we need to talk.
>>
>>36192381
Yes! As stipulated last thread eaves dropping on Usagi and Naru was extremely beneficial to her well being. Clearly it establishes precedent.
>>
>>36192239
On the Mars Rovers, that's pretty much what I meant.

And good. Like i said, I skimmed so I didn't know if people missed that or not, I assumed they hadn't but you never know. I hope its pretty high priority though, right know its kind of asking to fall into someone else's hands beyond it being masked like it is.

Never assume something is safe unless its in your hands and all.

>>36192284
We already have one half of it, sasha has the other most likely or is at least heavily connected to it.
>>36192245
Why not? The Bear is a big red flag in my mind. How hasn't she put that together... beyond panic attacks anyway.
>>36192346
I thought it was just split up into two straight halves. Helios mentioned it when we snuck up on him to whoever he was talking to that the bear was marked by it energies but someone else was holding the crystal and channeling it for him.

Or it should be around there I think. I can't remember the exact conversation but I know that was the gist of it.
>>
>>36192293
>We're on a mission, acquire Mom's attention.

Knock, it's the polite thing to do.
>>
>>36192400
Yeah I'm all for snagging the piece Sasha has. I don't really like him personally.. but that crystal is power. Mikage's power.

>>36192400
I agree, we're not giving Mikage enough mental credit. as for the split, think of it this way: it split into two halves, but when it got to a soul divided into two, a half split again. That's why Sasha isn't like Azusa and burning himself out.

The person she thought she had murdered. Kairi's father, Naru's husband, and headlong nerd of the original series.

Waving the girls on, you stop in front of the door to the master bedroom. Pausing a moment you take a listen at the door.

“-and that should be everything that the Commander will likely ask you that you should be prepared for. I don’t know enough about the gentleman from Ellis, but once he realizes you aren’t a repository for technical or magical knowledge he should ease off from pressing you for information,”

“Thank you, Luna. Now, are you sure that when I transform this will clear up?” your mother responds in query.

“I spend the better part of an hour coaching you for this and that’s your only question?” your cat crise irately.

“Well, yeah. You explained everything so succinctly that I don’t have any questions,”

Having heard enough of the unfolding comedy, you wrap the door sharply, prompting a squeak from your mother as you begin to talk.

~Hey, Mom, are you there? I need another...conversation with you,~ you offer carefully.

You know exactly what she’s asking Luna about. You’re braced for it. She’s probably a little mad at you, superficially, and for good reason.

The others aren’t.

Your mother is quick to open the door, looking down at you with an expression somewhere between pleading and scolding. Her face is a patchy blotch of her normal skin tone and the bright orange your oil tends to stain when left to set in overnight when mixed with sweat.

“Mikage, you’re damn right we need another con-” her eyes widen as she notices you aren’t alone and she snaps the door closed.

The confused moment passes as you turn to your friends.

~I may let my mom try my tanning oil and I may have forgotten to tell her not to sleep with it on,~ you explain to the other girls.

“You may have forgotten indeed,” you hear your mother hiss from the other side of the door before breaking into a sob, “And now you’ve brought your friends to come and mock me like a clo-,”

She pauses, the sound of her slipping into tears drops suddenly as she opens the door to inspect your group.

“Your friends? Your friends who I don’t think I’ve met before and who aren’t Kairi,” she inspects Midori and Keiko carefully, the dark haired girl wilts back a bit under her gaze, her embarrassment gone, “Are the two of you from her fashion thing?”

Before you can answer.

“I-I am Miss Chiba. I am Midori Mori” Midori explains between awe and held laughter before bowing her head and looking away as her grip on the would be laughter induced smile breaks, “And...Its a pleasure to meet you,”

“Its nice to meet you. And you?” she turns her eyes to Keiko...but then looks momentarily confused, as if she recognized something about the girl, and rightly so.

“Y-yes,” she explains, “your daughter helped me to safety that day...and she’s actually helped me out greatly since then,”

“Well, Mikage has always been the sort to help people out even when she doesn’t have to,” your mother rights herself and says with no small amount of pride before returning to the scrutiny of your assembled group...and the rings on Kairi’s and Midori’s fingers, “So, why bring everyone over today?”

Your mother continues to regard the girl curiously, though her posture shifts into something more serious. Luna plods from the bed to the door frame beneath your mother, rubbing against her leg while keeping her own eyes across your group.

“I think...this is my third time living. The second time I’ve reincarnated,” she takes a sharp breath as your mother looks surprised, “I don’t remember what my name was in my last life, just that it was taken over by my first,”

She steps forward and past you to grab your mother’s hand with both of her own, the surprise across your mother’s own face continues. Tears well in Keiko’s eyes as she looks up at the older woman.

“Please...please, I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry for everything that happened,” Midori lays a hand on Keiko’s shoulder as she continues to plead at your mother, “Thank you for stopping me last time. Thank you for raising Mikage so compassionate, that she saved me when I didn’t deserve to be saved,”

She cries openly as your mother’s arm tenses.

“I was Beryl!” she chokes out hoarsely, “I’m sorry! I’m so so sorry!”

Your little sister’s door opens as she and your father come to investigate what all the commotion is about. Luna’s eyes shoot wide at the admission.

Mother...she withdraws her hand from the girl’s shaking and loose grip.

Faster than you can see, she sweeps Keiko up into a tight hug as the younger girl sobs into her shoulder.

In a hallway in front of everyone. With Koyomi hearing things she probably shouldn't.

It's more of a Not Beryl/Usagi Hug.

But my counter reasoning would be that we're cementing Mikage as a source of forgiveness and love. Further embedding her as a friend and ally to Keiko.
>>
>>36195113
1. I see the reasoning for wanting it strictly a Usagi/Keiko hug, I respectfully disagree.
2. Why keep things from Koyomi? This is part of her family history, and a perfect example of how Sailor Moon does things.
3. Yep, Mikage cares about Keiko. No way she'll betray Mikage.

You step forward and wrap your arms around Keiko and your mother. Its beautiful, the among of love and forgiveness that this madwoman is capable of, and you both want to bask in that feeling and help give Keiko a greater sense of comfort and safety. It isn’t an idea you are alone in as Midori falls upon the hug as well for the benefit of the woman she loves.

After a moment, you become aware of Kairi running interference with Koyomi and your father who have entered the hallway. After a few moments, Keiko has calmed down and the lot of you release one another, though Midori looks a tad upse-

She spins Keiko to face her and grabs her shoulders roughly.

“I thought we already sorted that part out,” she says as the hurt is evident on her own face, “Never think you don’t deserve things like forgiveness or love,”

“Midori...I,”

“What’s going on out here?” your father asks the assembled group.

“Mori-san? Sugimoto-san? What are you guys doing here?” Koyomi wonders.

Keiko looks away from your father and just starts blushing. Her entire face is beet red and the normally forward and confidant girl hides in front of Midori. Your mother only laughs and pats the girl on the shoulder, she flinches at the initial contact.

“Its okay, I forgive you,” she smiles, “And I’m very happy you’ve someone who cares so much for you this time around,”

Keiko continues to turn further shades of embarrassed red as she hunches forward beneath Midori’s grasp and tries to hide herself within the sleighter girl’s arms and against her chest.

>>
>>36196085
She'd keep the identities secret... I said they secure them for an asset as in Mikage. Not sure how I'm wrong. Also going to the meeting... Mikage has no reason to be at? She can't show up as herself and if she shows up as eclipse she outs eclipse as working for PIT
>>
>>36196085
So far you are the only one I hear saying we should go, actually.
>>
>>36196123
1. so you're saying the identities are a secret IS begin secured as a PIT asset.
2. Mikage has many reasons to go to the PIT meeting. Like her mom being involved, or talking to Setsuna.
3. Who's watching PIT that Mikage would know about? Nobody. Eclipse or some other disguise is fine.
4. No reason Mikage can't show up without showing herself to Koyomi and co.
>>36196139
Melee wanted to go talk to Setsuna, last I checked.
>>
>>36196085
Well, we originally planned to poke at PIT's security and keep an eye out for the enemy trying to take advantage of the PIT and the Scouts being distracted, along with paying Setsuna a visit.

We wanted to avoid the meeting to keep people unaware of Eclipse's affiliations, or at least continue to see him and his as some sort of unknown or wild card. If someone were acting against the Scouts, they'd had to plan seperately for us, and if the Scout or PIT were compromised they wouldn't be certain of what we were up to, and other double-blinds.
Even better to miss now that we know the plan, before we were going to ask a certain shrine daughter about it afterward.

Two things: one, Mikage knows of nobody who's observing PIT or that teh Elysiam Soldiers are doing that. two, We've already committed. three, I like the wild-card thing, but I don't see Mikage coming up with that just yet.

We're... not giving up the mechs? I'm not entirely sure everyone else will vote for them.. but Mikage is an Asset. She's just not listed. They can move a few suits off the registry for an asset.

Re-read every names post. We're not giving up secret pit affiliation.. we're just not openly attending a meeting.
>>
>>36196117
She seriously doesnt know about the Shitenou? I could have sworn we told her
>>
>>36196232
1, PIT at large does NOT know us as an asset, Naru is planning on pulling a black budget packet for us.
2, we can't talk to Setsuna at the meeting. Period. You can't have a private meeting with someone in the middle of a briefing, even if she were going to be there. Talking to her there would doubly unveil us as working with the Scouts.
3, Exactly, we don't know who is out isn't watching, only that the enemy has been very resourceful and can magically subvert people.
4, what would be the point of being at the meeting if we aren't interacting, we already know the plan, only reason to show would be to ask questions that we can't get away with asking without revealing too much about what we know. Better to ask people privately afterward, like Luna and Setsuna.

I've been running with that for months now. It is the core of what we are doing with Eclipse, the whole damn point of all this deception and lies is keeping that barrier up 'publicly' to better protect the Scouts.
>>
>>36196399
Ok, that makes much more sense. As far as openly attending the meeting... stealth observation?
>>36196402
You all LOVE your paranoia. It's only recently that things have changes.
>>36196409
1. Gnash has clarified that for me.
2. Setsuna is at the same location as the meeting. we have to go to the same place for both.
3. Point is valid, grudgingly.
4. With Naru telling us earlier, you have a point. We can ask the Neo-Senshi about stuff after the meeting, preferably at Rei's place.
>>
>>36196492
Why not just go visit Setsuna NOW before the meeting

Then we don't even have to go to the stupid meeting, we could send Keiko or someone instead.
>>
>>36196361
I don't see how we're locked in or committed. We aren't there right now.
>>
>>36196525
Good. Let's drop everything and see the Time Lor-Lady.
>>
>>36196525
From last thread-

~I wanted to meet up with Pluto, check in on Moe’s friend in the hospital, and then actually show up to mom’s briefing. After everything I’ve learned...I don’t think I should miss it,~

“Why did you need to check in on Moe’s friend?” Midori asks.

~This wound up in her, and I want to pick her brain to see if she has any clues to where the other half is,~ you pop open your locker and flash the golden crystal to the girls.

“Okay, what’s the briefing?” Keiko inquires.

“PIT Command and the Senshi are having a briefing today at 3 to get all parties up to speed on the situation, and to explain the teleportation plan,” Kairi explains.

“Can we tag along, we are involved now,” Midori asks.

~I don’t see any reason why not. Though I don’t know how I’m getting all of you into the Metro Building,~

fixed that for you anon. The protection I do see having a bit of 'thats classified', but not being the main thing. Player-character separation.
>>36196522
because you all voted to have Keiko go see Usagi and deal with that. If you didn't, life happens. Plus, Melee and I DO want to see Setsuna. We're on the same side

>>36196522
Keiko and Midori should not go to that meeting. No one knows them yet, and don't want to draw attention to them until we know they are ready to face trouble.

>>36196570
Yeah, that suggestion marks a drastic deviation from everything else we've talked about since the meeting was first mentioned. And, as note, is not a commitment of any sort.
>>
>>36196628
Meeting is at PIT HQ, Setsuna is at PIT Medical, last I checked.
And while it may be a deviation, it's what Artemis wrote. You are correct in that we are not required to attend the meeting though.
>>
>>36196628
We're planning to go to the hospital next regardless.

And I really don't see what's so wrong with Eclipse showing up to the meeting with his posse.
>>
>>36196596
The point of the illusion was to protect the girls and ourselves from the possible vision of our parents being turned and the neo-scout killing them by being the wildcard to disrupt that possible future.

You've failed Astartes. I'm already in her head. My words have crossed her lips.

She's at the regular hospital now, apparently. Not sure if we know that though.
Artemis didn't write that we are locked into it, only that Mikage commented that we'd have trouble sneaking them all in, which I believed was in reference to our plans on sneaking into PIT and poking around.
>>
>>36196717
AND THOUGH I DREAM AGAIN, FOR NOW I FIND~

Why would they? He's got the elder Sailor Moon to vouch for him. I pretty much assumed that attending the meeting would mean Eclipse attending.

>>36196694
Yeah, because doing what we'd been planning for an in-game week and out of game months is a 180.

The enemy is probably operating under the assumption that we work for them somehow anyway.

Look here ya damn whippersnapper. Your belief doesn't change the facts of what we explicitly stated was the reasoning for the motivations at the time.

I think >>36196893 point is that it may be too late, the enemy already does what you fear most.

This is a retarded idea

We took up being Eclipse specifically so they wouldn't know about our intervention. Specifically so they wouldn't know.

We're trying to mimic our father, remember? He wouldn't show up for a fucking meeting, he would wait until the meeting was ambushed and come in through the window.
>>

Right but If Eclipse is seen/stopped trying to break in. It may change things... yes?

It is when we don't trust their security, somebody already fucked things for Umino internally long beforehand and got him killed and taken over.
And that is on top of what we know for a fact about the enemy's ability to corrupt and subvery people with Shadow.

>>
>>36197171
>we don't trust their security

>somebody already fucked things for Umino internally long beforehand and got him killed and taken over.
The effects of that on Mikage are well known, and paranoia of PIT is not one of them
>enemy's ability to corrupt and subvery people with Shadow
which we can sense.
>>36197172
I would accept this becoming a rule. constant arguing is not what I signed up for.
>>
>>36197171
A fair point, Gnashing should turn his hate ray on PIT in general. More their fault than anyone else's that Kairi's father was killed.
>>
>>36197171
I'd like to point out that we don't actually know anything about their security. They've been working with the elder senshi for a while now, it might be better than you think.
>>
>>36197241
That would deprive him of his Mechs.
>>
>>36197231

>>36197266
Hating someone does not remove the assets you acquire from them. While I Love the idea of Mikage Operator edition:Now with Mech

I seriously doubt we'll get one. Or really have a reason to use one.
>>
>>36197231
>paranoia of PIT is not one of them
It is when we've been shown evidence that they colossally fucked up as the same evidence that we didn't kill him ourself.
>>
>>36197241
Personally, I still distrust them in general. But Naru's a special case. As long as she can keep our involvement secret, this could be advantageous.

Besides, even if her organization is too corrupt to deserve our aid, I'm pretty sure we can count on Naru to side with us.

>>36197285
We don't need a reason. So long as there is desire, we shall pierce the heavens with our drill.
>>
>>36197261
Mikage has dodged their surveillance teams once before. The Players concluded that PIT is clearly incompetent. Mikage... not so much.

>>36197286
Mikage didn't know that until years after the fact, and that sentiment has never shown up in the writing at all.
>>36197285
Oh yea of little faith. Just stick the course and you'll be rewarded for your dedication. Also, PIT isn't Cerberus. Hate will deprive of PIT support.
>>
>>36197231
Someone getting murdered in the face with alien nanotech crystal explosion who also knew where to find his black-budget secret lab to abscond with all his super-drugs later on seems like a cause for concern about an organization.
Even on a less paranoid level, that whole setup was a bad idea on their part. People have bad ideas and can be full of security holes.

~Kairi-chan, Midori-chan, didn’t you want to speak with my little sister,~ you say sweetly while leaning down and scooping up the still shell shocked Luna, ~About something? So much has happened this morning I think I’ve forgotten,~

-Help, keep her distracted. Get her away. Come on guys, please,-

Kairi rolls her eyes and smiles before laying an arm across Koyomi’s shoulder.

“You know, I do believe we did, didn’t we Mori-san,” Kairi begins walking back to Koyomi’s room and Midori follows.

“Yes. Some interesting things. We were wondering if you noticed anything strange back at Venus-chan’s concert,” Midori looks back at you and winks before following.

“Weird, like the monster attack,” Koyomi asks innocently.

“No no no,” Midori catches up and loops her arm around Koyomi’s, “I mean about the way that boy, Koito, was fawning over Osaka-san,”

“WHAT!?” Koyomi squeaks in shock.

“I don’t think he was, but Mori-san and Sugimoto-san insist that’s what was going on,” Kairi sighs as the door closes behind the three of them, your father watching them go confused while your mother’s attention remains on Keiko.

~Mom, Keiko and I need to talk to you about something else, in private,~ you say while petting the still wide eyed Luna kitty in your arms.

“What exactly is going on here?” your father asks turning his attention back to your side of the hallway.

“I’m sure its just some girl stuff, Mamo-chan,” you wife plays off the scene as though nothing important had happened, “I’ll catch you up on anything important later,”

“Alright, Usako,” your father sighs and ruffles your hair, “Everything okay with you, Mikage?”

~Yeah dad,~ you smile, warmly, and smile more under your father’s attention.
>>
>>36197382

He nods and leaves the four of you behind for his study. Quickly you pull your mother and Keiko into the master bedroom and set Luna calmly upon the bed. Your mother has already turned to Keiko to ask a question of her own.

“I’m going to assume you were attacked because of your past life, given what we know of the current enemy so far,” your mother regards the young woman seriously.

“Yes, Chiba-san,” Keiko nods nervously.

~There’s more to it though,~ you sigh and cross your arms, ~Mom, Luna, When I purified the last pieces of Metallia from her, I found some things. I saw the memories of Metallia, glimpses of its actions when it fell to earth after rising out of our sun. It slipped in from the far side of the Earth’s orbit and took a sliver of the Sun’s starseed with it as fuel,~

Luna and your mother turn to you.

“A sliver of a true starseed, in the heart of our own star?” Luna wonders, “If it had that why bother with stealing the energy of earth when it awoke?”

“Metallia couldn’t use that power, it was unhewn and...and it could barely sustain itself on it’s warmth. It couldn’t understand its true power,” Keiko explains.

~But when I purified it and cleansed Keiko of it’s taint, that sliver was left behind. Fitting neatly into her soul that has already spent a lifetime growing around it,~ you explain, ~Keiko hosts an unhewn Starseed, binding her to the Sun,~

“I’ve already promised my loyalty to Mikage for all she’s done for me,” Keiko explains, “And to make amends for every wrong I did as Metallia’s herald and Queen of the Dark Kingdom. I’ve already awakened powerful magics inside of myself...but I don’t know if it will be enough against whatever is to come,”

She hold her hand over her chest and looks up with an iron resolve. Her earlier embarrassment and worry forgotten.
>>
>>36197339
Uh huh, and show me the writing where we are suddenly so trusting of them?
Trusting Naru maybe, but not all of PIT.
>>
>>36197402

“I want to stand for everything I once destroyed, a penance if you will. I want to awaken the true power inside of me and become a guardian of love and justice. I want to become a senshi!”

Her declaration reverberates through the room, and fills it with a soft warmth.

~So,~ you smile proudly, ~Can we help her?~

Your mother shoots you an amused smile and approaches Keiko. She raises a hand and presses it against first the suddenly surprised girl’s chest and then kisses her softly on the forehead. The room fills with a brilliant corona of light.

“USAGI!” Luna calls out in surprise, shaken from her shock, though her voice fades in the light.

~MAMA! KEIKO!~ you try to shout against the intensity of brilliance.

As the brightness fades, you mother stands fair skinned and clad in the sheer black fabric of her form as Sailor Moon, the white Eternal wings stretching out from just above the surface of her back. Fluttering feathers fill the room, as Keiko has collapsed into your mother’s arms. Upon her brow is a still glowing mark, an unfinished crest still forming.

“What?” Keiko groans as she looks up into your mother’s eyes.

“I’ve hewn the stone inside of you. It was a rough shard, but I think I have cut it to an effective faceting to sit safely in your soul, and polished it facets to a smooth sheen,” your mother explains in a calm and warmly nurturing voice, “Luna, will you be able to fashion a broach or a wand for the girl?”

“Y-Yes Usagi,” Luna explains assuming her human form, “Though I must protest the haste taken with this course of action, it is highly irregular,”

“Irregular, yes, but I think we both trust Mikage’s judgement on this,” its the gentle and poised version of her princess voice.

Luna’s opposition folds immediately.
>>
>>36197435

“Of course, your highness,” Luna bows her head, “Miss Sugimoto, I will require you for a few hours for this project and I must collect my beloved to aid in the task of crafting you a means to properly harness and awaken the power now building within you. Please follow me,”

“Uh, sure,” Keiko says shakily, “Mikage, I guess I won’t be able to help out at the hospital later,”

~Its alright,~ you smile, ~I think we can make do. Though Midori might be upset and think you’re ditching her for the day,~

“Come on,” she pouts, “Don’t tease,”

You give her a quick hug before she follows Luna out of the room, leaving you alone with your mother.

“Mikage-chan,” you mother smiles and wraps you into a hug from behind, “You continue to do me proud, you continue to prove you have so large a heart,”

Lets not encourage them to pick up the bad habits Mikage did during her tenure.
>>
>>36197767
I think you're painting with too braod a brush, we're talking about completely different powers sets and types, and again a meeting that isn't covering anything to do with their abilities or duties.

>shittenou
>Not magical girls
Now you really are splitting hairs. They are girls, they use magic. Magical-girls. Definition: Met.
>>36197799
the meeting covers what people will be doing while the Elders are away, so yes it does.

Did you have something to say? Or do you honestly think that flute is not a heart attack?
>>
>>36197813
No.
>>
Okay, here we are. Miscounted the first time because too close wording.

So, we're asking about the broach and we need a 3 way final destination. I'll post that in about a minute's time or more, so everyone get ready to refresh and respond to the oncoming final destination for that 3 way tie for going or not.
>>
>>36197827
that was supposed to be Pic related. I have faith in mikage being ready, and in us SURGEing a success.

Do they get an adorable fuzzy creature to guide them?

No they do not.

They're magical knights. The fact that they're also girls is entirely secondary

That does tend to happen with contentious votes, yes.

Honestly, I'm surprised most of you are even still awake. I'm a west coaster and a night owl by nature, but it's after midnight even for me.
>>
>>36197959
East coast. Being awake right now is suffering. But I'm off tomorrow. So we'll be all right.

The trains song is also pretty great. Keeping me up.
>>
>>36197942
Especially during final destinations, and frankly anytime, please do not delete your votes.

Please.

Pretty please.

And I've been going to sleep roughly 6 hours ago most day. fortunatle am off. and only person voting for secrets because I thought that was middle road. bahwell.
>>
>>36197980
My guess is that everyone assumed middle of the road would fail so they went to the extremes.
>>
>>36197959
Just finished a night shift here. Really difficult to follow & vote at work tho.
>>
>>36197971
Sorry, managed to send with wrong number, wrong number bad since it was for the very no. Meant 2, sent 1. Would consider 3, but 1 is no.
Sorry. Wrestling with captch has become very distracting when trying to hurry.

It doesn't matter, option 3 still won.

The extremes are more polarized. Used to be there'd a bit more variation.

~Mom,~

“Hmm?” she rests her head in the crook of your neck and presses her cheek against your own, its warm.

~I’m not going to the meeting this afternoon,~ you say.

“Oh, well I have some very important things I wanted to tell everyone, you included there tonight,” she says and leans back and away from you, drifting around to your front.

When she’s like this, she radiates so much magical energy, and she moves as though floating just off the floor.

~I already know,~ you being and looks her straight in the eye, ~I mean, I already know where you and your court are going. So there is other business I need to tend to today. I need to be prepared with you gone, so I won’t be there. And that’s that,~

“My brave girl,” she smiles warmly and wraps you in another hug, this time with the wings circling the two of you tightly, “My brave and responsible girl. Thank you for coming home,”

~Mom…~ you begin to tear up. NO! There are other things to take care of yet today, especially here.

And with that decision and explanation out of the way, you feel a tightness loosen from your heart and clear your head a bit for the next looming task. Though you want to ask about your old flute, you know you aren’t ready to even see it again, its something you’ll pursue with your mother another time...maybe even before she leaves the earth.

~Is the locket you and Luna gave to me to hold the Golden Crystal...is it a transformation Broach,~ you ask simply.

You’ve known it might be since it was given to you, but you remember what your mother said about never forcing you to do that again...so regarding it you sit on a mixture of light anger and light confusion.

“Of course it is, silly,” she smiles and kisses you on the cheek, “How else did you think we were going to contain an unstable fragment of the golden crystal?”

~But I thought you said you wouldn’t make me transform if I didn’t want to?~ you ask, a bit hurt, but still basking in her radiant and calming love and warmth.

“And I never will,” she says quietly, “That crystal belongs to you now, how you chose to make use of it is ultimately up to you. Things may get dark in the time ahead...and that locket is there only if you need it, only if you want it. Okay, baby?”

Your arms snake out around her and hold her tightly, as tightly as she holds you.

~Okay,~ you smile and rest against her a moment, ~Mom, thank you for letting me come home~

“No thanks are necessary. We’ve been waiting for you,”

As you hold her, you think about the crystal hanging from your neck. That you need to find the rest of it...and between what you saw when fighting beside Azusa Mugen, and what you’ve seen yourself and had divined by your knight, you have a relatively good idea where next to look. At least, you will after you confirm some details with Azusa herself.

Yes.

What do you mean I can't choose all of them?
Aww...

So, likely the girls chatting and Koyomi trying to decide how she feels about her coffee friend..

Gai, likely having issues with being a bit out of place.

And.. I'm going to guess some person I don't know as well.

I'll take the unknown if I must choose:

I miss Gai
>>
>>36198263
You have to ask?
>>
>>36198280
I do.

I voted for secret, but missed the final destination vote.

So I'm GUESSING secret was the correct answer, but the 'don't go' side was making a very interesting point, even if it did hamstring Mikage for information.
>>
>>36198310
Secret was probably the best option. Gong openly was probably foolish.

Not going at all.. Gnash voted for it.. So I'm assuming it was a poor choice.

I really cant tell.
>>
>>36198327
Well, telling her we aren't doesn't mean we can still go in secret.
There is a differences between what is said to someone and what is done.
>>
>>36198357
Normally I'd agree with you wholeheartedly.

However final destination vote was 1. Go 2. Go secretly 3. Not go.

That was a whole buncha 3's not 2's.
>>
>>36198357
Oh are we still doing this?

I think we shouldn't waffle on these decisions like that.
>>
>>36198357
No. Vote went with 3. We can probably get a rundown thojgh before she leaves forever.
>>
>>36198378
>>36198408
Vote was only for what we were telling her.
No mention at all about our plans.

Now, I'm in favor of not going, but let's not try to count a vote as for more that it was.
>>
Hey thread is still up. Neat.
>>
>>36199712
Yeah, kind of impressed.
>>
Seriously, still here. I just woke up and made Mexican Lasagna and turned around and the thread was still up.

Fascinating.

Anyway, I want to thank all of you for joining us the other night, we'll see if I can get another thread out tonight.

Have a good day and I'll check in later. Gotta go meet my parents for breakfast and get this awesome meal I made in a cooler for my Luna's dinner...because she's dealing with stereotypically bad hospital food this time around.
