Will they not let him rest?
>>
>>33805268
Because he's one of the few people alive (technically) since the Heresy.

Like an entire 1% of the entire Imperium's population would die (or be sacrificed) if it meant his life could be preserved.
>>
>>33805268
Bjorn is just butthurt that he is a canned Space Marine.
>>
>>33805157
Bjorn looks fine. Just don't paint that crap like gold.
>>
>>33805268

Technically they do, outside of the Battle of the Fang and when he went to calm down Grimnar, tell the Ordo Malleus to never come near Fenris again, and to have a GK sent down so that the SW may learn of an remember them:

>Now he is only awakened once every thousand years, or when the chapter has the greatest need of his potent skills and wisdom. He is also awakened at the dawn of each new century to hold court at the Great Feast, where he recounts elements from his own saga to his battle-brothers. He represents the Chapter's link to the past, and is revered by the Space Wolves as a hero almost as much as Leman Russ.

>Outside the Chapter, he is scarcely less revered, as a legendary warrior and a link to the distant past when the Emperor walked among his people. Even Inquisitor Lord Kysnaros, and Hyperion of the Grey Knights felt compelled to kneel before the ancient Dreadnought when they learned his identity - a gesture which Bjorn found exasperating.
>>
>>33805422
So you'll just have a Björn with a very bumby front plate?
>>
>>33805477
Only if you suck at shading and highlighting.
>>
Weird that Bjorn misses coming face to face with his enemies and CSM consider dreads a form of punishment because it's so disconnected from the world of feels, but in Imperial Armour books it says the advanced neural interfaces and sensors means the dread senses its surroundings as if the wearer was still alive.
>>
>>33805514
So you shade and highlight them to look like a smooth surface? What are you getting at here? It's not gold that Bjorn is against, it's the fact that they keep putting crap on his dread he doesn't give two shits about, no matter what the colour.
>>
>>33805157
Only the blood ravens understand him
>>
>>33805516
It's probably "sensing" in the way a game HUD works, if it bothered to tell you about temperature, the ground quality (slippy, wet, hard, tile, etc.), lighting, etc. Probably just mostly readouts into what's left of your visual organs or superscience pseudo-receptors like what Bjorn apparently has now.
>>
>>33805516
If I had to guess, I would have said that it's due to the antiquated sensors that CSM's and Bjorn were hooked up to, seeing as they would have both been entombed in roughly heresy level tech. However evidently Bjorn has the best nerve sensors so idk. Guess its like comparing artificial flavor strawberry to real strawberries, it tastes, it might even taste pretty damn good, but it's just not the same.
>>

For someone who should shit his pants with joy because he can serve the emporer, he is pretty bitchy.

"ANOTHER FUCKING WORD AND I WILL TURN YOU INTO A SOUP CAN, TECH-PRIEST. THAT... THING IS NEW. IT IS NEW AND IT LOOKS LIKE A WOLF'S HEAD."

Bjorn tried to remember the names of the great flying machines of his age. Something about this new craft was familliar...

Don't forget about ignoring Eternal Warrior. The Space Wolves are too special to need to worry about models being immune to instant death like other space marines.
>>
>>33807906
I'm willing to bet Bjorn or any Dread with a Helfrost weapon is going to make anyone with multi-wound models hate life, not to mention ICs. At least the Tau's AP1 weapons still didn't have the potential to ID anything, nor were they mounted on something as well-armored as a dread.

Can someone translate the WD articles? I could make out that the new axe a d Shield were called a Fenris-axe and a Bizzard-shield, but not much else (and even that's more or less a guess).
>>
>>33807906
The GW cycle of "rule", "special rule that ignores rules", "special rule that ignores special rule", "special rule that ignores special rule that ignores special rule" is so fucking bad.
>>
>>33807976
Ignoring Eternal Warrior has been something they've been good about I think.
IIRC Necrons have two (one forgeworld), the Eldar have one (though it's on Exarchs of the Dire Avengers.)

The Space Wolves, not to be out specialed by anyone or anything, have it on their flyer, and their dreadnoughts, and Lord knows what else.
>>
>>33808027
Both of their flyers, which also transport Terminators at a cheaper price than a Land Raider.
>>
>>33805439
Don't forget the part where there is a GK Master standing there like a confused autist while Bjorn ignores everyone for a few moments to flirt with an Inquisitor.
>>
>>33808283
Hyperion was a Justicar.
The Grand Master was instantly killed earlier by Grimnar's suedom,
>>
>>33807518

It's simple logic. The SM codex is bigger than the other codices and goes for $60.

So you'd have people whining because the codex they need costs $60+ because of an extra Warlord Traits table, extra relics, an extra Detachment, and 5+ Formations.
>>
>>33808283
>to flirt with an Inquisitor.
Oh, Björn you sly dog.
>>
>>33808027
It is plausible they might get it as a terminator weapon or as a Centuriwolf weapon.

Speaking of, any sign of SW Centurions yet?
>>
>>33808069
They are the only suckers that cannot DS them.
>>
>>33808460
Thankfully not, they already out-strength, out-range, and (for the non-blast) out-AP every other "Ignore Eternal Warrior, remove from play" weapon in the game (two of which require Strength tests to avoid, and the other is S3 AP3, none of which have a range greater than 12") never mind one firing mode actually has that bullshit on a blast template.

They don't need that bullshit on anything else.
>>
>>33808460

Not yet, they aren't listed as one of the units in the codex, but they aren't list as one of the units being excluded either. (Stormraven, Stormtalon, Stalker, and Hunter) I'd lean towards them being vanilla exclusive.
>>
>>33808525
What is the problem? There are no MCs that have less than a 1 in 6 chance of failing the test, the only infantry models that i can think of who have a real chance of it mattering are Calgar and Abbadon who have a 1 in 3 chance of failing. Both of them have 2+/4+ so i don't really see it as a big deal as they have to actually be wounded for that 1 in 3 chance to come into play.
>>
>>33808728
S8 AP1 on the destructor's focused mode means that quite a few things are likely to be wounded though-and armor saves aren't going to be of much help.
>>
>>33807657
and archived
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/33804601/
>>
>>33808728
His point is:
Necrons:
Any models within 6" of the monolith must take a strength test or be removed from play (ignores EW)
12" range, small blast, must past strength test or be removed from play (no strength or AP).

Eldar:
S3, AP3, melee, must pass leadership test or be removed from play.

Space Wolves:
Range: ?? (probably a lot more than 12" given it's on a flyer). S6, AP3, small blast, must take a strength test or be removed from play
Range: ?? S8, AP1, must take a strength test or be removed from play

Even if its range is 12" (which I doubt) it blows any of the other "remove from play" weapons right out of the water. Though it has just occurred to me that I could be acting on incomplete information, maybe it has something to limit it, like one use only or gets hot or some shit
>>
>>33808883
They have a range of 24'- twice as long as those other weapons.
>>
>>33808955
So basically the yiffs weren't content with just being Space Marines + 1.
>>
>>33809006
And the more unsaved sounds it inflicts, the more tests have to be passed to avoid the effect since it triggers once per unsaved wound. Not a good combination.

Oh, and the stormfang's version is a large blast or lance, rather than just being blast or no other effect.
>>
>>33809037
So they took the harder to pass strength test of the Necrons, the stacking value of the Eldar, doubled the range, and then made it so it can kill models handily without the tests.

And then people try to say the Yiffs aren't the speshulest goddamn things in the setting.
>>
>>33809080
In a nutshell. Did I mention the Stormwolf has it twin-linked? And both flyers have armored ceramite and can be kitted out as an anti-infantry, anti armor, or anti-air specialist on top of their new toy? Can't forget that they both have Power of the Machine Spirit too.
>>
>>33809080
If it makes you feel better anon, in spite of all of this, in spite of everything they have that other marines don't.
They will never be the greatest of all space marines.
>>
>>33809152
Well, the Smurfs don't have quite as much blatant cheese at least.

Perhaps the true reason behind their dislike of the yiffs is because they kept getting frozen solid by their Helfrost weapons and called bullshit.

>>
>>33809950
They save khornate guardsmen
wage war on the Inquisition
would give anything to feel blood on his face
and their chapter master uses an axe that "glows darkly with the power of Khorne."

Seriously anon, what about that sounds at all khornate? They're clearly loyalist.
>>
>>33809950

A lot of SM Chapters enjoy combat for one reason or another, the SW along with the BA being some of the Chapters that really do, but that doesn't make them Khornate.

Seriously, that is almost as bad as people thinking GK are Khornate because they do a ritual involving blood
>>
>>33810106
"I would literally give up anything to feel the blood of my enemies on my naked skin after I rend their flesh with my axe" is not really the same thing as "I find enjoyment in combat"

Plus, their CM has a Khorne Daemon Weapon
>>
>>33804601
What a waste of molds and development time.
>>
>>33810152

>Plus, their CM has a Khorne Daemon Weapon

And Guilliman took the Gauntlets of Ultramar from a champion of the dark gods he defeated in single combat. Doesn't matter what the origin of a weapon is as long as it has been properly cleansed and doesn't have a daemon bound into it.

5E codex just calls it an ancient axe thrumming with warp energy that was reforged, so it's not a daemon weapon anymore, if it ever was one.

speaking for myself I've never been a fan of dreadnoughts wielding additional melee weapons, for two reasons-

-they're so blocky and wide that most of the time a melee weapon in their hand just looks a bit silly, and it's hard to picture it using one effectively as opposed to just flailing about with it

-thematically dreadnoughts are supposed to be fuckhuge, lumbering murderslabs, so heavy and powerful that they can just twist about and slam an arm into something and 95% of the time, whatever they hit is gonna shatter. Built-in weapons make some sense, since if you're going to make a power fist you might as well make it a power claw, but when a dread is already supposed to be a rapemachine in cc anyway giving it a melee weapon to hold just seems superfluous.
>>
>>33812664
U wot? Axenaught is cool. I'll probably use it (without shield) a venerable dread in my vanilla marine army.
>>
>>33813102

They're blocky and wide, but I don't think that prevents them from turning their upper body on an axis. The arms also look like they'd be able to function perfectly like a human arm and we don't know anything about the hand attachment I believe. Perhaps the reason Venerable Dreadnoughts are armed with axes and stormshields is that their bodies are made of of better technology, thus making them more mobile overall then a regular
Dreadnought.

The axe appears to give more of a reach and is probably better for fighting multiple opponents.

May also just come down to the simple fact that they're SW Venerable Dreadnoughts, they want to fight in close combat with a melee weapon and shield just like they did while they were flesh and blood.

>>33805157
this describes my feelings towards the new fancy dreadnoughts perfectly. Especially the one with the axe and shield. I already ranted about this yesterday and with plastic kits its not a problem to build exactly the dreadnought you want. But GW just stacks more and more shit into the fluff and on the models to the point that it's even too much for 40k imho. I mean I like all the stupid stuff that exists in 40k, but some elements have always been kind of 'pure', like the dreadnought being a raw killing machine. These wouldn't need any fancy stuff to make me buy them.
>tfw you ranted about the same toy twice on a chinese picture board

>>33807649
I like the stormfang, would need some coversion but fits the Marines. I also think that the wolvehead-look form the side is rather clever (at least for GW-standards, I mean it could BE a flying wolve). That said I am still not a fan of the flyers in 40k at all and will probably never buy one.
>>
>>33807486
>No, it's called sticking the stuff only a certain number of people care about into a separate book so the codex doesn't go up in price.
The codex is already overpriced as it is! Seriously, for 150PLN I would expect three times the content in the same print quality. That's what I get out of an RPG rulebook.

Pathfinder core rulebook costs 160PLN. Dark Heresy costs the same. GURPS Basic Set: Characters (336 full colour pages, hardcover) costs 150PLN. Each of core D&D4e books costs 90PLN. That's less than 5e paperback 40K codexes, which in store were 100PLN each. GW asks more for a BW 100-page paperback game supplement than WotC does for a 320-page hardback full colour rulebook. >>33818915
Man, instead of dataslates and codicies (as well as army books and scrolls, was it?, for Fantasy), Gee Dubs should have put all the rules on their site and say that both games are in permanent beta phases in order to polish them up via player feedbacks.

>‘Easy old man, the Khwarezmian is here. You’ll be fine. You’ve survived worse,’ Kor’sarro said, knowing it was a lie even as he said it. ‘You’ll survive this.’ He looked up. The sound of engines shook the ridge. Hasik and his bikers had made it through and come back. The khamar were making a fighting withdrawal. Their ambush had been ambushed, and they knew when they were beaten. They wouldn’t stay gone long, however. He knew that they would have a long, hard ride ahead of them, back to their own lines. The old man gripped his wrist, and Kor’sarro looked down.

>‘My tanks are dead,’ Cemakar said, staring up at the lightening sky. ‘Now so am I.’ His gaze sharpened, just for a moment. ‘They’ll make me a Ghost Warrior, boy,’ he rasped, and there was real fear in his words. For the first time, in his final moments, Old Shatterhand was frightened. The thought of being interred within the armoured sarcophagus of a Dreadnought caused even the staunchest warrior of the ordu to quail. To be made one of the Ghost Warriors meant an eternity of sterile slaughter, never to feel the wind or taste the blood of the enemy. Bloody fingers dug into Kor’sarro’s arm. ‘Don’t let them.’ He coughed. His eyes were wide. Blood spattered into his beard. Then with a querulous sigh, his face went slack, and his hands flopped limply to the snow.

>Kor’sarro hesitated. There was an Apothecary with Gharchai, he knew. Cemakar would be stabilised, kept hovering between the land of blood and the land of ghosts until such time as he could be encased in an adamantine bio-coffin and join the ranks of the living dead. He was too valuable to lose to such a shallow death. Old Shatterhand was a legend – a god-killer and a master of war. The seers would oversee his return and they would awaken him to fight anew.

>Unless there was nothing left to awaken

The White Scars feel the same way. Are they Khornate?

If so, then no wonder Wolf Lords should have it as a exclusive...or maybe it's only available to Logan? Or maybe it's restricted to the Warlord?

SM don't need big crafts, since they're not sending platoons into enemy ships, only squads. It's basically an LCA to the Shark's LCI.

The Caestus is mainly designed for boarding, but is capable of landing. I'm sure the Stormwolf is the same (caestus fluff says it's only one of many similar attack crafts). It would be designed to just ram through and unload.

It doesn't need aerodynamics to fly because it's staying afloat on anti-grav and thrusters, and has enough power in its engines to break orbit. The wings are far more likely to just act as control surfaces for atmospheric flight.

Personally, I'm very much in board in getting one and converting it into a Caestus. Just put a pair of melta-cannon muzzles on where the grill is and rocket batteries under the wings.

At least that would make sense. Sisters Repentia are meant to be doing painful, crazy stuff as a form of penance. Getting them to do something useful at the same time (e.g. kill enemies, pull a chariot containing a more valuable Sister into enemy killing range) is just efficient. This whole wolf thing has kinda gone off the deep end now...

Come to think about it, Sisters Repentia are basically Dwarf Slayers, down to the whole "repentance through death" thing.

This is the description from the old Index Astartes section from GWs page

>But the Ossmodula zygote of the Black Dragons functions in an abnormal way causing the growth of bony crests on the head, and blade-likep rotuberances from the forearm and elbow. Like the Death Company of the Blood Angels, warriors inflicted with such abnormal developments are formed into a separate fighting unit. Known as the Dragon Claws, they sharpen these additional protrusions to a killing edge, and sheath them in adamantium to turn them into deadly close combat weapons. This strains the tolerance of the Inquisition and their are many recorded instances of other Space Marine Chapters (notably the Dark Angels and Marines Malevolent) refusing to fight alongside them.

Doesn't say which direction they grow but clearly states there's more than just claws on the forearm.

The first appareance of the Chapter afaik in the Chapter Approved article fluffing the various chapters and introducing their individual rules and background had these conversions though.
>pic related

The sight of the so called "Stormfang" had left the ancient son of Russ even more infuriated and longing for rest than previous awakenings. As the Iron Wolfs and tech-adepts led him back to his stasis chamber Bjorn caught a glimpse of something in an alcove off to the side of the great hall. It looked like a...sleigh of some sort and some tech adepts were attaching something to the front of it....
"OH FUCK NO" bellowed the mighty machine.

"ARE YOU GODDAMN CANINE FUCKERS CHAINING UP WOLVES TO A DAMNED GRAV CHARIOT?" "Of course mighty Bjorn the Great Wolf Grimnar saw it fit to construct a mighty chariot for himself to represent the chaptors glor-" a backhand from Bjorns lighting claw sent the unfortunate adept flying and crashing into a nearby wolf statue.

"GLORY MY METAL CHAFFED ASS, YOU FUCKERS HAVE TAKEN IT TOO FAR THIS TIME. FIRST IT WAS PUTTING WOLVES ON YOUR ARMOR, THEN IT WAS FIGHTING ALONGSIDE THE WOLVES, THEN RIDING THE WOLVES, THEN MAKING MACHINES LOOK LIKE THE WOLVES BUT THIS?! A FUCKING WOLF DRAWN SLEIGH?" "LOGAN GET YOUR SORRY ASS OVER HERE SANTA CLAWS"

And with that Bjorn thundered off to his stasis chamber, horrified techpriests cautiously following at a safe distance and no younger Space Wolf daring to question or retort his words. "DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT WAKING ME UP FOR MORE "STORY TIME" NEXT CENTURY CAUSE IM NOT GOING TO HAVE A PART IN THIS SHIT ANYMORE."

As the crashing footsteps of Bjorn's metal form ceased as he strode off Logan took a good long look at the Storm Chariot he had taken recent pride in as he turned to a nearby Wolf Guard.
"You know I think it needs more wolf dont you think?"

> "Look at this anti-grav unit, their isn't many like that in this galaxy ! Now we just have to add some propulsion and we're going to show Sammael who's the man ! How much do we have left for that ?"
> "Weeeeeeell...."

Has someone told Bjorn yet ?
>>
>>33823954
Convoluted, static, hard to see, overall retarded.

At least the Wolf Wacky Wagon is sort of dynamic and you can clearly see what it is.

But are the wolves anatomically correct?
>>
>>33825905
Who knows. Have to look under them...unless they have loads of fur.
>>
>>33825272
Space wolves ever pretended they weren't retarded?
I guess they did way long ago
>>
>>33826074
>Space wolves ever pretended they weren't retarded?

Nah, in fact Russ whole stick is him pretending to be retarded.
>>

>>

That's a pretty retarded stick
>>
>>33825644
Because 40kids need their confirmation bias.
>>
>>33826074
Pretty much all of the Imperium is full retarded. I'm sure there are Inquisitors with grimdark segways combined with lawnmowers.
>>
>>33808283

Is this from a Black Library book?
>>
>>33826145
I don't think you know what confirmation bias actually means.
>>
>>33826131
Actually it's not bad. This makes your enemy not take you seriously and make him do less effort in killing you. And then SMASH!! The pretending is over and he's full of openings.
>>
>>33826322
40kids wants people to agree with them to validate their opinion as fact.
>>
>>33822583

Holy fuck, Forge World save us from Geedub!
>>
>>33826342
>implying that's any different in other fandoms

You get sperglords everywhere.
>>
>>33826313

Yes
>>
>>33826342
You're replying to someone replying to people mocking the sleigh. So.... you support the sleigh?
>>
>>33826131
Not really, if Russ's enemies expects him to be a dumbass he will outsmart them when the time comes.
>>
>>33826393

Which one if you don't mind me asking?
>>
>>33826401
Nah, I just support the right for fun allowed units.

The sleigh is still too much, though. I'm kinda glad now that I have the old metal model of Logan.
>>
>>33826372

You do know that Forge World is part of Games Workshop, right?

As in, they're the same guys. Always have been.
>>
>>33826342

That's not what confirmation bias is. You should probably stop calling people kids now. And shill, and apologist, because you probably make those shitposts too.
>>
>>33826418
He's a goddamn primarch, he outsmarts everyone just by existing.

Russ is just the dumbest primarch.
>>
>>33826431

The Emperor's Gift
>>
>>33826456
Yes, and they make hell of a lot better models than GW's studio.

What's your point?
>>
>>33826490
And better fluff, Bligh and his lackeys are just pure awesome.
>>
>>33826447

You're going to be able to field Logan on foot

>>33826456

Technically they have different teams, but the two supposedly interact a lot and share ideas.
>>
>>33826460
Confirmation bias is to agree with information that supports your opinion even if it might not be accurate.
>>
>>33812793
>fucking
The big deal is that it's a giant fucking robot with power fists. Powerfists already ignore armor and murder shit. Adding an axe on top of the power fist not only looks retarded but is completely redundant. Fuck you GW. Go play warmachine in some other setting you English pricks. At least Jacks have smaller hands and no power fields over their damn plot fists to render the addition of melee weapons extraneous.
>>
>>33826572
Eh, GW is just making models out of concepts people have been doing for conversions for year now.
>>
>>33826572
They are British you fuck.
>>
>>33826131
not really. The issue is the woofs have forgotten that Russ was pretending
>>
>>33822583
This type of shit just shows why the Space Wolves are the gayest and straight up most stupid space marine legion. They're just so over the top dumb. Cheaper, better, more dakka, fucking space sleighs now..god damn. Fuck this game man.
>>
>>33826487
such a great book before it transformed into yiff wank
>>
>>33822857
I know. Its pretty cool mini and very 40k.
>>
>>33826661

Why does ADB pretend he doesn't like the wolves
>>
>>33826536
So what does that have to do with making posts using comedic over exaggeration to mock a concept that tries to play something equally ridiculous straight?
>>
>>33826601
Hence why I said that you twit. Fucking over your head. Just leave.
>>
>>33808283
Why do I find the idea of a giant armored tank hitting on an inquisitor funny, what would he say?

>NO FUCK YOU THERE ARE FOUR COUNTRIES IN BRITAIN NOT JUST ENGLAND YOU RETARDED SHITNOZZLE, FUCKING STOP ASSUMING BRITIAN=ENGLAND ONLY YOU FUCKING CUNT. THIS IS WHY THE SCOTS WANT TO LEAVE.

But GW is based in Nottinghamshire, which while it is in Britain, it is more specifically in England.
>>
>>33823446
It probably just supplements the wings with vectored thrust like most other imperial aircraft.
>>
>>33826764
I thought there was only 3.
>>
>>33826720

Isn't that like every ADB book ever?
>>
>>33826764
That anon said they were English, and while not all British are English all English are definitely British.
>>
>>33826719
people call it England for the same reason people call the continent America: because only one of those countries actually matters
>>
>>33826824
England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.
Wales actually joined last.

One, you look like a child with your scary bold letters. Bold does not make your garbage any more meaningful. Two, I am aware the UK is a combination of countries; however, GW is English so again, fuck you. Three, get the hell out of this thread you butthurt angry man child.
>>
>>33826878
Northern Ireland isn't in Britain.
The UK, yes, but Britain is explicitly the landmass containing England, Scotland and Wales.

How do the Welsh differ from Englishmen and Scots?
I have only rudimentary knowledge of brits.
>>
>>33827173
Scot's are big angry drunks that hate everything, the English are a mixed bag of stuff, the Welsh are the sheep lovers that everyone forgets, they have their own secret language that makes no sense in the slightest.
>>
>>33827173
They have no defining characteristics save their weird language, lust for sheep and dreadful accent.

Ok.
Were they once their own kingdom or something? Was there once a king of sheepshaggers?

Apparently there was.
They also have a town with a retardedly long name.
