Welcome to Academy City. The time is morning, the weather is pleasant, and the date is August 24.

You are Kyril Torikov, ‘Level 2’ Telekinetic Child Error and you just woke up. Breathing was slightly harder than normal. Then you noticed Last Order sleeping on top of you. She didn’t have a tight grip. While you were content to let her sleep a bit longer you don’t think you’d be able to sleep in any longer. Carefully lifting her up, you got out of bed before setting her down again. After washing up you decided on omelettes. It’s been a while since you tried that stupid Egg of Columbus exercise anyway. Standing the egg up was easy but so was pulping it with the kind of power you had. Still it wasn’t too big a strain before you had enough eggs. You also noted that the cupcake in your refrigerator was now rock solid.

There was mail this morning. Nakazawa sent you an email asking if you were interested in some completely legal work. Apparently he was doing some stuff for the Academy City Research Exhibition (ACRE) Assembly. There was a bunch of small stuff he needed you to do and there was a budget his patrons had set aside for such a thing. That was rather nice of him to consider you first. Then again you’re not sure if you’d want to play gopher for him just yet. The other piece of mail was snail mail. That on its own was not unusual. What was unusual was that it was bathed in an eerie green glow reminiscent of Teacher. While it could have just been Teacher, you didn’t want to take that chance.

The two issues remained on your mind as Last Order woke up and the both of you were going through breakfast. What will you deal with first?

You were pretty sure Nakazawa wouldn’t mind if you put off answering his email for an hour or two. The thing that concerned you was the letter. It was clearly magical. You just didn’t know what spell, if there was one, was contained within. There were probably three people who could help you with the matter. First there was Kaoru. Her birthday party was tomorrow though so you weren’t sure if you wanted to bother her right now. The next was Touma. His right hand could probably dispel whatever was on the letter but there was no knowing what kind of spell was on the letter. The last was the Index Librorum Prohibitorum, Touma’s roommate. With 103,000 grimoires within her head, she’d probably have a good idea of what kind of spell was weaved on the envelope.

“Who is it from? Asks Misaka asks Misaka as she enquires on why onii-san is glaring at an envelope.”

Ah, you had almost forgotten about Last Order.

“I don’t know,” you replied honestly.

While you had your suspicions you weren’t sure if it was from Teacher or not. You also had didn’t think it was a good idea to reveal the existence of magic to the administrator of the Misaka Network just yet.

“Are you going to open it then? Asks Misaka asks Misaka as she wonders what’s inside.”

“It could be dangerous,” you answered.

“But you have someone who can help you. Says Misaka says Misaka as she studies your face intensely.”

“Cheeky brat,” you muttered, “You’re right, I’m going to go see,

You decided to pay the Index Librorum Prohibitorum a visit. You recalled that she still lived in Touma’s dorm. Touma was currently hospitalised and he was going to be discharged in a day or two. Maybe he was already but you didn’t know. Either, you told Last Order to wait in your room and finish up breakfast as you headed downstairs to fetch the Index. You recall that if you gave her enough food, she’d be willing to do pretty much everything.

In hindsight you were probably going to have to keep making more omelettes. You had found Index famished. She had written all over the walls, even the ceiling, to stave off hunger and loneliness. Thus your invitation was enthusiastically accepted.

“Hmmm,” she regarded the envelope, “That is an interesting application of the Japanese Ofuda style. Rather it is even older, a rare Chinese application of imbuing mana in to paper.”

“So it’s not dangerous?” you asked.

“I am unfamiliar with this kind of magic,” she admitted, “It is old and I am not good with Chinese. The only reason I can tell is because Japanese kanji was taken from Chinese. In fact the construction indicates that this is a replica of a palace or temple of some kind.”

That could mean anything then.

“What is onii-san and Index-san talking about? Asks Misaka asks Misaka as she feels left out.”

“It’s a code of sorts,” you answered.

Index for her part was annoyed that you had clamped her mouth shut. No doubt she was going to go on a spiel on magic. The reason she needed some kind of supervision was probably because she would expose magic too easily you thought. Last Order didn’t look too mollified but at least didn’t press further.

Well, if the Index Librorum Prohibitorum herself couldn’t tell you much more than that then who could? Besides her mention of Chinese was probably the clincher. While it was possible that the sender was another Chinese magician, you knew only one and that was Teacher. Without delay you opened the envelope.

Nothing happened.

So far so good, you thought. Inside was a folded letter. It was when you unfolded that you saw the mana move. Swirling about in your hands, it formed in to a picture depicting a familiar form. It was Teacher in all green.

“Hey kid,” his image greeted.

You dropped the letter.

“Ah hah,” Index reached an epiphany, “The mind, the mind is a temple, so he’s projecting his mind, no his thoughts!”

“As expected the Index Librorum Prohibitorum,” the tiny green figure of Teacher turned to her.

“Teacher,” Index nearly gasped.

“The one and only,” he bowed.

Lapsing back in to her own thoughts you didn’t bother to try and understand her muttering about protections and sealing. Last Order picked up the letter and held it up to read, almost obscuring the image of Teacher.

“What is onii-san surprised with? Asks Misaka asks Misaka as she questions onii-san why he was staring at the letter for several minutes.”

“She can’t hear or see me if that’s what you’re wondering,” the image peeked over the edge of the letter.

“Let me see, it is a letter addressed to you onii-san, says Misaka says Misaka as she scans through the letter. Hey kid, how’ve you been? I’ve been enjoying a vacation in Tibet. In fact, I just climbed Everest again. Anyways I figured that if you are free sometime in September why not meet up with me in Sweden. I hear they were working on building a replica of the Vasa and I wanted to see it for myself. I’d love to give you a return address but well you know why I’m not allowed in Academy City anymore. Yours truly, Teacher, says Misaka says Misaka as she reads your letter.”

>>
>>33046578
Well that was nice of Teacher to send you a letter, even with a mental projection. Still it was something to read in private if you wanted to make the most of it. That and you’d rather do it in a way that wouldn’t arouse suspicion. You could use either Touma or Kaoru as a distraction while you did this, or you could do something else. Surely you could find time for yourself later.

Yeah, but Academy City has an exchange program around the first week of september IIRC. Apart from that, every month is just as cramped as September.
>>
>>33047077
Possibly, but then there's the differences in Schools. The Railgun girls seem to goto the Liberal Arts City, where as Touma doesn't have anything going on at that time.

Although thinking about it it's probably that the exchange program is for Middle schools.

You've got:
Golem time, Liberal Arts, Orsola Rescue, Tree Diagram Remnant, Endymion, Daihaseisai (Part One: Magic time), Daihaseisai (Part Two; Level Six Misaka), Italian Fleet, and Invasion.

That's a busy month, even if we try to ignore the magic shit.

Well now was probably not the time to talk to Teacher. His invitation aside, you weren’t sure where’d you find the time to visit Sweden. School would have started up then but surely he wouldn’t have sent you that letter if there was a possibility of you leaving the city. You were also reminded of Toulour’s offer to send you off to Paris. Still, that was for later, you thought as you folded the letter up again. The image of Teacher dispersed and settled around paper.

Now you were going to call up Nakazawa. Distracting Index and Last Order had been easy. Touma’s room had a TV. You borrowed his balcony to make the call.

“Hey Kyril, you got my mail?” he asked.

“Yeah, I’m interested, can you tell me more?”

“Unlike you, and our my friends, I intend to actually go to university, graduate and do the whole boring white collar thing,” he started, “To help me I’ll be participating in the ACRE Assembly. I need your help doing setting it all up, security, advertising, stuff like that.”

“While I’d love to help, why me exactly?”

“Well I trust you guys for one,” he replied.

“Heh, I’m sure you’re just buttering me up,” you retorted good-naturedly, “Whatever, I’ll talk with the others then get back to you on that.”

“That’d be nice. There anything else you want to ask though?”

Yeah... I'm not going to be that harsh.

Besides I doubt that they've got anything to do with trying to kill our boss. I'd assume that's linked to Endymion. Since it's rocket fuel being stolen, it implies that it's either required to launch something, or to stop legitimate clients/our boss launching rockets into space, ensuring more funding for the Orbital Elevator.

What's that arc about?

>>33047878
It's a non-canon anime only arc, where "Villains" decide they hate espers, so they create artificial espers, that can control robots, to attack espers. Filled with OOC Misaka, Saten and Uiharu piloting mecha after reading a manual overnight, and a loli.
>>
>>33048021
STUDY wants to be a real darkness organization, so a bunch of college nerds make a little clone loli and design her to only be able to survive with lolipops because they're evil or something and stuff happens. It's like the SISTERS arc if it was beaten with a retard stick and designed to wank Saten. The entire arc was just Nagai (Railgun anime director) wanking his waifu. Wasn't even from Kamichi. It was the only thing in all of Raildex that was so terrible I refused to watch it. If it was in the LNs/manga, I'd have refused to read it too, but it's anime only shit so thank god for that at least.

There were several questions you wanted to ask him first but none were quite as important as this one,

“Why can’t you just marry a rich older lady instead?”

“Very funny Kyril. For your information I already will, but I just want to make something out of my life too. I don’t think I can make a career out of grand larceny.”

“If you say so,” you smiled to yourself, “what exactly is your project? You expecting sabotage or something?”

“Nothing that drastic. I’m part of the team that’s going to be designing the next generation Bugatti.”

“The sports car?”

“Yeah, I worked on the aerodynamics. I hear there’s going to be giant robots there as well. Hopefully they’ll get all the saboteurs and spies.”

“Hopefully?”

“It’s a competition Kyril. The two-time reigning champ isn’t participating this year so everyone wants to win, badly.”

“You’re going for the win then,” you concluded.

“It’d be nice but already have what I want for my CV,” he admitted, “That said, I wouldn’t be sad if someone else’s project just happened to explosive malfunction when it’s presented on the 30th.”

“Now that’s what I’m talking about,” you laughed.

“Well if you’re in then let’s meet up later okay?”

“Right, later,” you hung up after that.

If you planned to help Nakazawa then you were going to have to leave Last Order with Toshino. While Index and Touma’s TV could keep her distracted for a few hours, you didn’t trust both Index enough given her scrawling on the walls. Then again you could always bring Last Order with you but that had its own set of challenges. Still you called up the Problem Children anyway. If you didn’t want to help Nakazawa, maybe the others did.

Accept Nakazawa’s job?

Ehhh difficult to answer really, for the most part it's adapted the canon arcs reasonably well, I enjoyed level upper and sisters arcs. The non-canon stuff feels forced, and they do tend to mess about with the timeline a bit, which leads to it feeling messy. For example they introduced Saten, Kongou and Misaki earlier in the series. Misaki being especially odd, since she appears in Railgun S and has no involvement in it whatsoever.

Although given the Hentai of her I'm not going to complain.

With some urging you managed to coax Index and Last Order from the TV. You sent the former looking for Touma as it neared lunch whilst you introduced Last Order to your three other friends.

“Oh man you were serious about taking care of her weren’t you?” Sagara put palm to face.

“I kinda was yeah,” you admitted.

You were doing the dishes as the lads entered.

“Good morning young lady, my name is Kyousuke,” the resident musician introduced himself and bowed, “May I know your name?”

“Misaka is #20001, Last Order, says Misaka says Misaka as she introduces herself.”

“Misaka? Really?” Sagara was still looking at you.

You picked out a paper regarding Project Radio Noise with your Ability and handed it to him before turning back to the dishes.

“She’s the administrator of the Misaka Network,” you answered quickly, “Though legally she’s Mishka Torikov.”

Tadakuni snuck up on the little clone and gave her a start.

“Boo.”

“Aaaaaaaaah, says Misaka says Misaka as she exclaims in fright.”

As she said that she fled up your back and on to your head.

“No scaring my little sister,” you introduced a pillow to Tadakuni’s face.

“Right, sorry boss,” he didn’t seem to apologetic, “So what’s the job this time?”

“Nakazawa wanted us to help him with the ACRE Assembly, security, advertising, set up, sabotage.”

“One of those things sounds out of place,” Kyousuke noted.

“What can I say? We’re a bad influence on Nakazawa,” Tadakuni snickered.

“Too right,” the rest of them agreed.

As you were finished the dishes you got a reply from Asuka saying that while unfortunate she would be unable to assist you for this job. You suspected a lack of fighting as the reason. Maybe you could leave Last Order with her today instead?

In other thoughts, should we try to learn some way of protecting ourselves from mental invasion? I'm not too fond of the next time we annoy Asuka, her getting us to kill ourselves for real. I also don't think her level 4 protections will work against the Queen's mind control if she really wanted to take control of us. Unfortunately the only things I can think of are some sort of alchemy from Teacher, or full on magic, which we would need to rely on Kaoru for, and considering she's mind-wiped us before, is not a great idea.

2. One with a strong enough will can ignore it (remember the bank robber?)
>>
>>33049584
We know what you meant and you know what we meant.
Just treat it as a writ-in.
>>
>>33049659
That was kind of my point. The block Asuka put on us is going to be weaker than that of the Level 5's mind control. Her power also didn't work on us when the Noise Canceler or whatever was used. Not to mention the fact that the two guys she mind-wiped after we beat them up came back to us for vengeance, which implies that her power can also run out.
>>
>>33049583
I think the trick is it works as a tier based commandment effect. So even if she does try to do a mental effect it would be physically impossible for someone to violate the command.

>thread 37 omake

>her powers hold up against level 5's

The Queen, the fifth rank Number 5, was probably why you hated Tokiwadai more than was strictly necessary. Her ability, Mental Out, was based on manipulation of people’s mind. It was something you had learned to guard against. She was a Level 5 however and it was a testament to her skill that she could still read your mind if she put some effort in to it. The most important part was that she couldn’t control you, not any more. Unfortunately for you, since she discerned the nature of your power from reading your mind you couldn’t pay her back for some of the indignities she had you suffered. Unfortunately for her, she was also well aware that nowhere was safe if you put your mind to it. Her usual method of hiding behind warm bodies would only delay you briefly.

That was why she manipulated the truth. The highly impressionable Ladies of Tokiwadai were susceptible to gossip and it was easy for The Queen and her clique to spread lies and misinformation. It did not help that you were alone and had to counter the rumours yourself, mostly with the help of The Dean. Nowadays, the both of you had come to an unspoken agreement. She didn’t meddle in your affairs and you didn’t carve the fat off of her body with The Dean.

You recall the conversations you’ve had with The Railgun. Granted many of those earlier conversations involved cutting remarks and pointed arguments. It was also the reason why Tokiwadai had banned sword fighting within the school grounds outside of the designated areas. It was funny to you, to see her struggling to even pull The Dean away from you. A Level 5 she may have been but not even her Electromaster powers could not separate you from your sword as long as you held it. Even then you were no less dangerous without it.

mind reading could be a potential problem though
>>
You reply back asking if she could look after Last Order in that case. She was happy to. Thus you set out to meet her, along with the rest of the boys and Last Order.

“Out of curiosity may I know this job you are performing?” she asked when you had met up.

“We’re helping a friend, Nakazawa, at the ACRE Assembly,” you replied before turning to Last Order, “Well I’m going to let Asuka look after you for a bit, try to keep her out of trouble okay?”

“Misaka will keep Kudou-sama out of trouble, says Misaka says Misaka as she accepts onii-san’s mission.”

“Oh you, dear,” Asuka mocked sighed, “Still I suppose it is nice to know that there will be competition this year.”

“What do you mean by that?”

“I suppose you would not know but my paper on The Dean’s metallurgy and material composition has just today been accepted to the Academy City Research Exhibition Assembly,” Asuka explained, “I may have to hire my own helpers in this case.”

“This is going to be a problem?” you asked.

“Only if you make it one dear,” she replied, “Now let us be off little one. I have much to teach and learn from you.”

Taking Last Order’s hand, Asuka left with Last Order who waved cheerily back at you. You weren’t sure if you’d have the heart, or the guts, to mess with Asuka’s project anyway so Nakazawa was going to be shit out of luck if he wanted you to. On your way to see your employer however, you encountered a purse snatcher. While ordinarily it was not your problem, he did bump in to you rather deliberately.

>Catch him

>>
>>33049970
>>Catch him

Really, just TK press his ass onto the ground. No need to do more than necessary.
>>
>>33049970
>Catch him

Oh well Asuka's just going to drive herself into a corner, she's too powerful to even consider the concept of magic, and so her metallurgy study should come to nothing.

As for the thief guy just use TK to grab onto his shirt collar or something, that'll pretty much stop him.

>>33050098
Unlikely. THIEF are a professional organisation, if you're stupid enough to be doing something as petty as purse snatching, you're not THIEF material.
>>
>>33050098
They wouldn't stoop to this level.
>>
>>33049895
Hmm well maybe it will work against the Queen.

But you're right we're a criminal, and mind readers will always be a problem, and again Asuka can still command us to kill ourselves.
>>
>>33050244
You know at thiis point we'd have to do something incredibly dumb for Asuka to even consider doing that.
>>
>>33050244
In a straight fight the best thing to do is yell "LALALLALALA" or wear earplugs.

The key thing is to not read her lips or pay an attention to her body language as to not get a command in. That or get some of those speakers.
>>
>>33050402
Not really, we walked in on her in a maid outfit and she killed us.

And considering how her family is related to magic, and we end up knee-deep in that shit, we could end up killing her father or uncle.

Not to mention the fact she doesn't like the fact we're friendly with so many girls. All it would take is for us to hang out with the Queen or Misaka WORST
>>
>>33049970
>>Catch him
Geez, remember the last time somebody bumped into us?
>>
>>33050495
>Misaka WORST

I could honestly see her or worst getting along strangely enough.
>>
>>33050495
I doubt we would ever hang out with royalty. Kyril is much too crude.
>>
>>33050495
>Not really, we walked in on her in a maid outfit and she killed us.

>>
>>33050600
Possibly, but considering the Queen's interactions with Touma and Misaka, she probably finds people that are immune to her power 'Interesting'.

>>33050601
Nah, we chose to go out with a Yandere lite, you have to accept that death is possible.

>>33050580
Possibly, but Worst likes playing pranks, I can't see her not being flirty with us to see what possible reactions happen
>>
The bump was deliberate and you didn’t take that lying down. He probably would’ve gotten away with it but then he took a trashcan in the knee. You walked up to him slowly, trash can raised.

“Ow, man Toulour did tell me he was touchy,” you heard him mutter until he noticed you looking at him, “I mean, fuck you buddy.”

You dropped the trashcan down on him again before reaching down and pulling him up by the collar.

“Care to repeat that?” you asked, half angry, half curious.

“Check your pockets,” he whispered before loudly adding, “Yeah, I said fuck you.”

Then he tried to headbutt you but you just threw him back and pinned him with your foot. You leaned in real close.

“Really purse-snatching? Why couldn’t I just get a post card or another cupcake while we’re at it?”

“Poisoning the cupcake takes too much time,” he admitted quietly, “whatever, just get this over with.”

So that’s why it turned to stone, you mused. If you wanted more out of him, it was too late as the woman whose purse the little THIEF had snatched had come up to you.

“Thank you young man.”

“Call Anti-Skill, or Judgement, before I decide to let him go,” you told her.

Many passer-bys did stop to watch you but most really didn’t seem to pay attention much beyond the whole Ability User stops common theft again. It was like their life was devoid of drama or something. You scanned the crowd again, briefly noting that there was one guy who looked away when you saw him. Then again you weren’t wearing a school uniform, looking more like a ganger with your height and your sunglasses. Your friends looking like lackeys exacerbated it too.

[1/2]
>>
>>33051266
The time is now afternoon, the weather is clear, and the date remains unchanged.

Dealing with Judgement was unpleasant but then again, it was a slap on the wrist before you kicked out of the building and on to more fruitful endeavours. The note in your pocket was from Toulour and it still took the form of a postcard.

“Data delivered to dorms. Couldn’t find you, sent a runner. Cheers, Toulour,” it read.

Which reminded you, you probably had to call Toulour, if not about the job then about information on people who were after Last Order. You almost forgot about that. You put that at the back of your mind as met up with Nakazawa and a bunch of other kids that weren’t noteworthy at all.

“Glad you could make it,” he greeted.

“We were bored,” Tadakuni replied.

“I figured you were,” Nakazawa admitted.

“Where do we start?” you asked.

“We may be in the final stages of the project but we still have a lot to do. First there’s preparing the advertising for distribution, then there’s moving our project to the venue, security concerns and scoping out the competition. As it stands we’re in the middle of the pack, in terms of projects on the list to win. Where do you want to start first?”

You set Sagara and Tadakuni ahead to the venue. They were going to secure the site and scope out the competition. You yourself were going to aid in moving the displays. That left Kyousuke to do the advertising. Tasks delegated you were led off by Nakazawa to a car.

“That’s a Bugatti Veyron,” you noted dryly.

“No duh,” Nakazawa retorted, “It’s just a Super Sport with a virtual intelligence. We call it the CHEAT System, Control by Heuristics and Estimation of Traffic. It’s probably going to be the thing Bugatti will take in to production within the year.”

“You realise I don’t have a license yeah?”

“’Course I do, the VI will drive us there. We’ll just be along for the ride to make sure nothing goes wrong,” he explained, “What you were expecting us to drive the one I designed?”

“No,” you lied.

“Just get in the car Kyril,” Nakazawa got in the passenger side.

While it may be “just a Super Sport with a virtual intelligence,” the interior looked more like a fighter jet cockpit than a normal car. The whole panel was just various displays with a steering wheel and the appropriate pedals. That you took five minutes to get settled in wasn’t the fact that the car was going to drive itself or the whole unnatural interior at all. Nakazawa pushed a button on the centre console and the three screens, one in front of each passenger and the one above the centre console, lit up.

>GOOD AFTERNOON MR. NAKAZAWA AND NEW USER

“Give it your name,” Nakazawa said idly as he strapped himself in.

“Kyril Torikov.”

>GOOD AFTERNOON MR. TORIKOV

>WARNING: MR. TORIKOV HAS ONE (1) TRAFFIC VIOLATION ON RECORD

>MANUAL CONTROL IS NOT ADVISED

Nakazawa gave you look.

“It was in a wheelchair,” his disbelief grew, “Honest.”

“Right.”

The ride out was mainly in silence. Well, the two of you didn’t speak. The machine and the CHEAT System took control and bellowed. All sixteen cylinders belched out enough bass to make you shiver in your seat. The steering wheel also moved on its own. Soon enough you were out in open traffic. Thankfully the window was tinted so people could see in, save through the windscreen.

“You know we’re still ahead of schedule,” Nakazawa commented, “CHEAT take the scenic route please.”

>SCENIC ROUTE SHALL BE TAKEN MR. NAKAZAWA

>PLEASE CONFIRM

“Confirm.”

The two of you found yourself on the highway soon enough. It was amazing how easy you overtook other cars. You also suspect that Nakazawa was up to something.

“So, wanna try driving?” he asked.

Your mind was racing along with the car. On one hand how could you resist? But that was precisely why it made driving a multi-billion yen supercar a scary proposition.

“Yes,” then you added, “But that’s probably why I shouldn’t.”

“Eh, CHEAT can handle it,” Nakazawa remained calm, “We can’t advertise this as something ‘even a high school boy with less brains than a bonobo can drive in’ if we haven’t tested it out for real right?”

“Alright, but for the record this is your fault,” you replied.

“You hear that CHEAT? Kyril doesn’t think you’re safe,” Nakazawa smiled.

>SHALL I ENABLE LIMITED MANUAL CONTROL MR. NAKAZAWA?

“Say ‘I have control’ when the prompt comes up,” he told you, “oh and grab the wheel. Don’t worry about gears this thing’s an automatic.”

Fiddling with keyboard on his side of the dash your screen lit up.

>LIMITED MANUAL CONTROL ENABLE FOR MR. TORIKOV

“I have control,” you followed his instructions.

>MR. TORIKOV HAS CONTROL

The wheel yielded to your hands and the car slowed down significantly until you realised that you weren’t pushing down on the pedals. If the games were correct the right one was the gas. Pressing down rewarded you with a surge of speed and you steered clear of the other cars. The first time you hit the brakes you almost flew out of the seat from the forces and you were rewarded with honking from the car behind you. You sheepishly accelerated away again, this time babying the brakes instead of slamming down on them.

“So how does it feel?” Nakazawa asked.

“Nervous,” you watched the speedo.

It didn’t climb higher than 180 before you heard a loud whoop of sirens and a brief flash of lights from the rear.

“CHEAT bring that up on the centre screen please?”

The berries be flashing them high beams.

“We could just outrun them,” Nakazawa pointed out, “Anything that goes over 250 isn’t worth chasing in their books.”

“Before we do this, I have a question,” you started.

“Shoot.”

“What’s a bonobo?”

“It’s a type of monkeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee,” he didn’t get to finish.

The acceleration was immense. It pushed you so far back in to your seat that you might as well be sitting a couple hundred metres back. And the noise, oh sweet heavens the noise, it was glorious. The build up was smooth but when it reached its crescendo the noise that accompanied it, you realised, was your own. You were screaming, out of exhilaration, out of excitement and out of the fact that once more, you had outrun the law.

By the time the CHEAT Super Sport pulled up at the ACRE building that was going to house, Sagara, Kyousuke and Tadakuni were looking bored out of their minds. You stepped out of the car with Nakazawa with wide grins of your face. Sagara returned that smile.

“I bet you had fun,” he greeted.

The others snickered. You wondered what for.

“Totally,” Nakazawa replied.

He produced a slip of paper from his pockets and handed it to you. It was a speeding ticket.

“Yomikawa told me to give this to you,” Sagara continued.

On the back is another message from your homeroom teacher.

“Goddamnit Torikov,” it read.

The car left and parked itself.
