You are a Planeswalker, a being who has been gifted with the power to travel across the multiverse. To see things others could only dream of. To prevent cataclysmic events, or to create them. To be like a god among insects, or a protector of the innocent. However, you are not the only one. There will be others like you. Some will aid you on your mission, while others will block your path. Still others, far more powerful than you, will wish to make you their pawn in schemes on a multiversal scale. Will you gather allies, make enemies, or enslave those beneath you? And then there are the various planes themselves. The vastness of the multiverse ensures that not every plane will be welcoming to the presence of one such as yourself. The very land itself may attempt to destroy you on some planes, while on others the inhabitants may not be so welcoming to someone as strange as you. Fate at times will not be on your side but with a bit of skill, and a lot of luck, you may just survive long enough to become one of the greatest Planeswalkers in the multiverse, and save it from utter destruction. Or perhaps cause its catastrophic demise.

But first, we must create you.

Roll 1d100 to determine your affinity to white magic. (Best out of the next three posts)

>>
>>32395528
>Spoiler
I don't know whether I like that or us being a WURG mage better.

So, Our final Affinities are:
>White: 98/100
>Blue: 95/100
>Black: 28/100
>Red: 95/100
>Green: 98/100

So, we slightly favor the more physical colors, still appreciate the more magical ones, but the darker arts are right out the door.

I don't know if I want to keep it that way, or train our Black up enough to summon Progenitus.
>>
So we're passionately anti-black mana, hunting it down wherever we find it because it upsets the natural order and unity of things? And we have the tactical knowledge to understand where to lok and how to deal with it?
>>
>>32395537
>98

You harness the natural powers of Green magic as well as you can Red, White, and Blue. You can summon creatures of enormous power to your side with a gesture, or shape the land to your liking. Altogether, you are much like the Nephilim of Ravnica. You are able to harness the power of all but one color of magic. While this certainly doesn't have to make you a hero, the lack of selfishness, parasitism and death that comes from black's influence makes you certainly look like a paragon. You value instinct, emotion, faith and logic in relatively the same amounts, and you are able to manipulate White, Blue, Green and Red mana with masterful ease.

Now that we know your color affinity, we shall determine your race and class. Because you are a four-colored planeswalker, you have two options:

[] Choose from one color's races and classes (E.G. Only from White, only from Blue, etc.)
[] Combine the list of all four color's races and classes and roll to determine what we are from that chart.
>>
>>32395670
I dunno, I can't imagine someone who uses 4 of the 5 colors could really believe that the last 'upsets' the balance. Maybe we just don't like the mindset you need to use it?
>>
>>32395704
>[] Combine the list of all four color's races and classes and roll to determine what we are from that chart.

I've seen several Planeswalker Quests popping out and they never survive long. Also, since I know nothing about the card game it instantly turns me off. When I see thing like "You harness mana. Now you have 1 White mana, 2 red mana, etc" I find it rather ridiculous. I'm sure it works in the card game but in quest format it seems extremely lacking.

I blame videogames with their ridiculous numbers.

Will this quest require knowledge of the rules and the setting of Magic or can a complete newcomer enjoy it too? Don't say "you can ask in the thread, people will explain", I want to read the quest and not have to look up everything or ask questions. I usually archive lurk and asking around wouldn't work well for me.

I like the idea of paying/reading a quest with a powerful MC who can walk between worlds but each quest has been somewhat exclusive.

You ask people to vote for multiple choice of options replying with only a number (or sometime without even quoting, you need to lay down the rules first)

It would look something like this

>Vote for options:
>1 Goblin
>2 Sphinx

>Quote this post and reply ONLY with a number. No spaces, no dots, no nothing. Only a number.
>Voting ends in 5 minutes

This is because you can't make duplicate replies on 4chan within 5 minutes.

You are a Sphinx, one of the most powerful and yet enigmatic races in the Multiverse. Your body is that of a massive cat, often a lion, with the wings of a great bird and the face of a human. You are most gifted in the ways of Blue magic, granting you the ability to turn aside spells with ease, annihilate your foe’s mind, and constantly recall powerful spells with ease. However, you are indeed special. Through sheer talent, study and luck, you are also equally proficient in the use of White, Red and Green magic. With this power, you can sear your foes with fire and lightning, call upon the forces of the wild to fight by your side, and even send your foes to the Blind Eternities, never to return.

You are originally from Zendikar, a plane where the land overflowed with mana. The great mountains of Sejiri were your home, where you spent your youth entertaining yourself with riddles. But as of late, there are tales of strange beings in the world. Beings that are capable of annihilating all in their path. This is where our story begins, and our search for understanding, and perhaps a way to save our world...

The cold wind felt good upon your fur as you stretched your wings and yawned. It was dawn of another day. Over the past few dozen years, you have been practicing more and more complex and varied magic. At first, you knew only simple cantrips, a few ways to defend yourself from other's spells, and the ability to summon birds. But as you grew, so did your power. The rush of water, the power of tides, the very wind you could harness, but you craved more. Tapping into the powers of your mountainous home, you learned to harness lighning, to call upon elementals and to enhance your own combat prowess with burning might.

For many years, you travelled across Zendikar, finding all you could about the magic you could harness. You found from the Kor the ability to channel light into beneficial magic, to blink out of existence for short periods of time. From the elves you were taught the great powers of nature and the woodlands, how to call upon the land and its inhabitants. But there was always something more. The power of Black magic eluded you. The Vampires of Malakir harried you from their lands, viewing you as a threat more than an ally. But undaunted, you travelled on to your kin on Jwar Isle. As you landed on the black sand shores, you knew this was a place of power. Overhead, you saw your kin riding the winds, their black and blue feathers peering out against the dull grey clouds that constantly surround the island. After many moments, a large sphinx landed a few dozen feet away. "Why do you come, child of Sejiri?" He asks.

"I seek to prove my worth and to test my power" you say as you stand firm. The older sphinx stares at you with a piercing eye. You can tell immediately he is not only judging your character, but peering into your very soul. For a moment, his eyes glaze over, before he blinks and turns. "Your worth is much like this island, clouded and hidden. You are strong, but you need to be stronger still. Even so, you are welcome here, though what you find here may not be what you wish to see." Yes, this is how I do things.

With a flap of your mighty wings, you ascend with your guide. He leads you around the island, through dark crevasses and flooded paths. To a lesser race, this would feel like an eternity, but to a sphinx all things come in time. Finally, after almost an hour of flight, you make it to a cave in the side of a cliff. The Guide lands first, and with a subtle motion enlarges the entrance for the both of you. "In the depths of the Isle we will find your potential." He says, although you don't see his lips move "In the heart of Jwar you will see things the lesser beings of this world would kill for."

"There is no object worth killing for" You say as the guide leads you down through the depths. "Objects, maybe" The guide says as he turns down a path. When you follow the same path, he is nowhere to be seen "But we are not talking about trinkets or weapons, not even powerful spells. But something far, far more important." You continue to walk on, through the twists and turns of the tunnels. As you walk further on, the path seems to narrow. You are not accustomed to this claustrophobia, and could possibly panic.

With a simple word, a mote of light materializes ahead of you. Immediately you regret your decision. A massive being, faceless and horrifyingly "different" is directly in front of you. For a moment, your heart stops, before you realize it is a massive statue. "Your first lesson is in fear" You hear your guide say "The unknown is the most primal of fears any being could have. Some things even we may not know. This has been beneath the island for as long as we have lived here, but even this is not the thing you seek. But know it, feel it's terrifying presence." You nod and continue on, passing beneath the statue. As you walk forward, the room opens up. Beneath your paws, you hear soft crunching sounds while in the distance you hear rattling. You look down to see thousands of bones, while at the edge of your light you see a massive shape slide across the floor, unnaturally silent.

"Death will not take me this day!" You roar. Your eyes glow green and from the bones come thousands of insects. They swarm the serpentine being, biting and stinging it. Along with your own considerable bestial strength, you are bale to bring the creature down. "Death is not my fate this day, horror!" You snarl as you stand above it. The being dissipates into shadow, and you hear your guide once more. "Very good. All fear death, but you must dominate it, make it your own if you wish to find the answers you seek. Your final challenge awaits below."

You find another entrance way on the far side of the bone pit, and you eventually make your way down. Finally, you see what lays before you: A massive winged being with horns adorning its head. It looks at you with a deviant glee."Welcome Sphinx," He says, toasting you with a goblet made from a human's skull "Welcome to your final challenge."
