>Reposting last one from the other night. Never finished vote.

“Alright...” You submit, following after him as the birdlings and other villagers down by the pools jump up along the far-spaced steps of the trees. It's no wonder that they're good at leaping like that, they're brought up with it.

You enter a home as the dark finally falls upon the world, the only light being the moon and starry night sky streaming in through the canopy.

Within a dull-colored one, okay, these are their girls. Approaches you and Kurojo. She chitters to him affectionately before giving him a motherly hug and regarding you.
You're introduced, and after sharing enough words for dialogue you find that her name is Jokii, and she's Kurojo's mother.
You meet his father, Kankuro and little sister Kinata.

Kurojo humors your appearance and seems to be rather pleased along with Kinata to hear you speak. It's a really odd thing that talking would make anyone this happy. Then again you feel happy when Boss or Mom talks to you, so this isn't too strange you guess.

Kankuro pulls Kurojo aside for a moment as the two of them chatter.

You sit upon a leafy bed beside Kinata and Jokii, watching the two as they chitter.

You're offered some water that you gratefully sucl down much to the females' chagrin.
“So, Kurojo said that the jungle's dangerous at night. Is it really that bad?”

Jokii nods to you, acknowledging the question. “Bad night. Sherurean shtay here.”

“Is it really that bad? Are there really a lot of monsters?”

“Rot of monsters, Sherurean... Rot.” Kinata bums into your conversation.

I'm not just talking about cliffhangers in general.

The other anon is talking about us going out at night, so the context of my post was us going out at night and not just spending the thread discussing what the dangers are at night and waiting for the day to come to go looking.

Then my second statement was about you making us not encounter the danger the bird people want to avoid on the trek until the end of the thread. And just a glimpse of them.

Good question. We should ask how the Kahkori avoid the other monsters. Do they just not come up to their homes? If so, that must mean there aren't many fliers on this island that go out at night.
>>
>>31127870
>>31127824
Flares draw more than rangers anon.

Not to mention that most don't get in the position to use one, they just die instead.
>>
>>31128479
WHYYYYYY

Why would you do that and give Prof ideas!?

You could have given him ideas for mechanics or implants, but noooo, you have to give him more monsters to make...
>>
>>31128122
That's interesting actually...maybe we can like, circle the island, then search the jungles.
>>
>>31128533
if that's the case, we could finally use our maneuver gear. unless we don't have it.

in which case, claw jumps.
>>
>>31128534
>Flares draw more than rangers anon.
The idea is that if we see any signs of other humans, perhaps a passing boat, we'd shoot a flare out.
>>
>>31128578
And then the boat leaves because we just drew every tentacool in a 5 mile radius right down on top of us.
>>
>>31128552
It's just an image, anon. Calm your tits.

>>31128567
We have maneuver gear built for underwater swimming on. I'm not sure of the difference.

That said, it was stated in the Veridian Wood mission that the maneuver gear is pretty noisy. We'd wake up a lot of napping animals.
>>
>>31128567
You have the aquatic model. It still works on land, it just has less function out of water.

>>31128578
Highly unlikely. And many monsters are curious. Flares are primarily only used for the initial woods test because they can react quickly enough to save young rangers.

Outside shit like that can get ya murdered.
>>
>>31128604
Boats have repel tech on them, right?

>>31128615
Why couldn't we just, you know, move locations? Repel tech still works, right? Just find a safe place to shoot the flare from, then flee into the brush before any monsters come to investigate.

>>
>>31128604
Jellyfish can't see. And upon checking, it seems no one really knows how they see? It seems like they only react directly to danger and food. So shooting a flare near them would be 'safe' depending on whether or not they thought it was a potential food source/they can detect that far using whatever senses they use.

Tentacool/cruel have eyes, emit noise, and emit bright light from their heads.

tentacools are still jellyfish, being anywhere near those stingers is a bad idea.

Tentacool aren't jellyfish. Tentacool have eyes.

How are you going to handle weaknesses and resistances on pokemon like Flygon that obviously fly through the same mechanics as many flying types (wings), but don't actually have a flying type and just use the Levitate ability to make up for it? I know that you said the weaknesses and resistances for Flying types come from them being up in the air and not a biological thing, so it would make sense to apply the weaknesses and resistances to pokes like that

Would Flygon be 6x weak to Ice when up in the air as a result of this?
>>

>>31128764
Is it completely impossible to find circumstances where it would be "safe" to fire a flare? Because if we simply need to leave and keep away from monsters, then there are multiple ways to fire a flare safely if a ranger properly investigates the area before doing so.

More so if a teleporting esper is present to aid in escape.
>>
>>31128811
Not the anon you were talking to.

You know that their pokedex entry literally says "The Jellyfish Pokemon", right?

I mean, they can obviously see because they have eyes, so the person saying that they couldn't is pretty wrong, but they are still jellyfish. Magic fantasy monster jellyfish, but still jellyfish.

>>31128823

“But what kind of monsters? Are they meaner than Mankey and its dad?” You growl low in your throat
at the memory of the poop-flinging critter. Kinata seems a bit flustered at that as Jokii responds with a little hiss as her own crest folds down.
“Sorry, not you guys.” You apologize quickly, remedying the situation.

The Kahkori's bright eyes look back to you as she scratches at one of her own short tusks among her dusky plumage. She's kind of small. Smaller than the others, but still about your size,”Mmean. They mean...” She looks to you at a loss as she begins chittering lightly with her mother.

You realize that she needs more words.
“Dark, scary, nasty, strong, sneaky?”

“Dark, shcary, nasty, shtrong, shhneaky.” She replies, nodding for confirmation.

“All of those things?” You frown, and grip at your thighs, just where the swimsuit ends. “I still need to find Marine. That just makes me worry more.”

Kurojo's bickering with his father escalates some as you hear your name and Marine's thrown in there a bit more. Kankuro seems to be getting agitated, his crest falling back to give him a meaner look as he slides his feet into a stance, mirrored by Kurojo.

“What are they doing? Are they going to fight?” You ask Kinata, seeing her get a worried look among her features.
She nods, seeming meek.

Jokii suddenly straightens up and observes the debacle keenly.

Between bits of their aggravated chatter, they begin to come to blows. Circling around in their own home, they keep a fist raised to guard their profile and one low to check for mid and low strikes as they do what almost seems like sudden, erratic dancing, the air moving around them as they throw their fists into a block, counter, block, counter, a slip and then a slide in by Kankuro as he grips Kurojo by the thigh and sweeps him with a palm to the chest.
>>

Kurojo's laid out on the floor by his father, whom stands over, before looking to you. He points and utters some chatter down to Kurojo. It's calm this time though.

Jokii finally gets up and seems to take control of the situation.

With a hand upon her husband's shoulder, she makes him back off, before helping up Kurojo. She hugs him, gives him a pat on the head that ruffles his crest.

Kurojo inclines his head to his father before giving a bow, claws faced inward as before.

“Sheru, we go now.” He walks out of the home alone, his sister, Kinata chattering with Jokii receives a sudden and firm shriek from the mother, quieting her down.
Kankuro waves to you, gesturing for you to go.

You bow your head and leave after Kurojo into the night outside. Kurojo's brightly colored form waiting ahead upon one of the bridges that connects these houses together.

“Umm, I'm sorry.” You drift up beside him as he leans against the ropes, keeping him from falling off the edge.

He shakes his head,”Shorry Sheru. Kurojo...”

You feel like you know what he's going to say,”Scared?”

A nod,”Shcared. Night bad. Find Nar-kage near shity.” His feathers poof out a bit nervously before he settles them back down and takes a deep breath that makes his chest rise.

“What is the Nar-kage? A monster?”

He nods again, turning to look at you this time,”Sheru. We go find friend Mareene. Kankuro say so. Jokii say so.” He inclines his head,”Shorry.”

“It's okay Kurojo. I'm scared too. But I know that Marine's scared. She needs our help.” You fold your knuckles, touching them against your chest, against your heart to feel it pounding.
You don't think it's really calmed down since you've gotten here.
“I'm a long way away from home, and so is she.”

Kurojo's eyes meet yours and then drop, looking away. “Shorry Sheru... Kuroji find Mareene.” He holds his head up high, raising his crest proudly, “Kurojo said.”

You smile a bit at his broken speech. More you say, more he learns anyway... You remember the last time you were in a dark forest like this though. Over a week ago now. You wonder what ever became of that village. A bitter frown appears upon your face.
“Let's just not die, okay?”

“Oh-kay.”

You replace the Volt Orb powering your CGS with your spare, finding that the first one's still working on charging. It'll be another few days before it's ready.
You tell Kurojo about the Repel tech, and how it keeps you hidden from dangerous monsters but specify, “That aren't looking for you.”

Letting him know that Marine must have one too, you turn it on and leave him to examine the effects.

He glares hard, his eyes making out what must be a broken up form,”Sheru... hard to shee.. Hard to...”

“Umm.. Feel?” You don't know why you feel that's the word he's looking for.

A nod,” Hard to feer Sheru.” He seems to distrust it at first, but you reassure him it doesn't hurt.. and that he might be able to get some of the effects. That is, if he's close.

He turns around, offering his back and you stare at it for a moment.

It's feathered, but they're so fine there that you can actually make out the definition of his muscle. It's exceptionally lean and toned. It's like bruise, except smaller. Kurojo's head turns. “Sheru?”

“Ah, yeah. I'm. Just a sec. Are you sure?”

The birdman nods, before shuffling a bit closer.
>>
You get up on his back, legs locked at his sides as his hands find your feet. He shifts a bit to adjust to your weight, and like before you're flying, only this time you're holding on for dear life.

The humid air surges past you as he leaps from the bridge at a lower point upon a tree. You're jolted as he suddenly shifts his weight and gives another descending leap, heading on down. As your repel-tech manages to cloak you both, you hear a sudden snarl erupt from him.

“Not like. No feer”

“No feel?”

“Kurojo no feer. No find Marine rike this.” He utters as you feel your whole body smash into his again as he finds a foothold. He doesn't seem perturbed but this is a really wild ride.

The ground is his next foothold, and he runs off the might of the fall, bouncing upon his powerful talons as he slowly down to a little trot. “Sheru. Shtop it.”

“But if I do, then the monsters will find us, the Nar-Kage-”

“Kurojo need to find Mahreene for Sheru. Kurojo need stop.”

You comply with Kurojo's request, albeit reluctantly. You know how well it works, how it can let you slip right by monsters unnoticed if it's turned up on high. The trees are huge and the forest is dark. You didn't think that Kurojo would have eyes fit to see in the night, yet he gets around effortlessly, running forward on the ground, heading to the edge of the village.

You talk to him, and it's an upward battle of conversation as you try to figure out what he means to say.

He says that he's not an esper, and that he doesn't even know what that is(much to your relief.) But he's able to feel things rather than see them. You ask if it's like hearing and you get something along the lines of “sort of.” You don't really get it and he seems to be getting frustrated.

“So, the Nar-Kage. How does it see in the dark? What's it look like?”

“Dark. It see good in Dark. It hear good too.”

“What does it sound like?”

“Sound like die. No sound.” His voice takes on a sudden icy, rigid tone as he stops his run suddenly, seeming to listen.

The sounds of the jungle's night echo back to you two distant predatory action, and a scuffle amongst the brush in the distance. The jungle flooe slowly lights up with bio-luminescent fungi and Kurojo stares at it for a moment before leaping away onto a tree and then jumping off to get onto a branch.

His claws scratch against the great bark as he creeps up upon the large branch, squatting down upon it as he peers down.

You look over his shoulder and see something creep across the jungle's floor with liquid, fluid motions before halting and examining the fungi.
It looms near, but not upon the fungi, yet your eyes can see the creature clearly with just this much light.

Its fur is midnight black, though a bit strange, as though it were feathered, and there are red markings upon its face along with a long feline body with odd protrusions along the sides of its forelimbs. They glint slightly from the dark of the night.

Description of the Nargacuga, for easy access.

If it comes close to death, it retreats to the treetops.

It seems it's most invulnerable to shots to the head, which actually makes Ceru's icicle gun our most useful weapon in the arsenal.
>>
>>31130747
>It seems it's most invulnerable to shots to the head
Most VULNERABLE, I mean.

Also, didn't mean to quote there.
>>
As it lurks away, you see that it's tail has an odd shape to it, and is far longer than you'd have thought.

The most surreal part of this experience is that you find yourself not breathing, as though a breath would draw the predator's attention. The whole world goes silent, and it too is perfectly silent. Too silent to hear coming.

Kurojo trembles beneath you as you lay against his back. You want to tell him that you're sorry and reassure him that it's alright, but you feel that to do so would draw that thing's attention.

Once it's gone, he rises back up onto the branch. Without a word, he leaps away again, sticking to the trees.

A flock of things make you just about scream as they suddenly explode out, flapping past Kurojo. All of them blurs, no time to identify them as they set off through the trees in their flight.

Kurojo stops sometime later, seeming to take a good look around. The two of you have gone pretty far south.

You keep your own ears open and take stock of everything with “Was that-”

Kurojo whispers with fear tainting his voice,”Nar-Kage.”

So that's it. That's the beast that Kurojo was scared of. You swallow. Even with your feline ears, you couldn't catch a sound from the thing's movements. Kurojo must've jumped out of the way on a hunch, or did he maybe sense it?

His answer is the one you didn't want to hear- No.
>>
The two of you are silent for a moment as Kurojo seems to be looking around yet to no avail.

“What's wrong?”

“Find Marine here. Was here. Not now. No feel.” He seems to be getting a bit frustrated, tapping a claw upon his arm anxiously. “No Marine. Can't feel where.”

Wait... Marine was here? You look around the little spot that you're in. It's a little clearing among the brush. Everything looks like it's been pushed down or flattened somehow to make space.

You tap Kurojo's shoulder and he lets you down for a look as he keeps a lookout as best he can.

You hunker down, smelling the green smells of the plants, feeling the wet squelch of the earth oversodden. She was here, she used her water.
You have a bit of difficulty picking her scent apart from the plants. Indeed, it's futile due to their herby smell, yet then you realize- you can just follow this smell.

Marine can't be too far. But the problem is dealing with what else might find her...

Narga would probably synch better with Barioth because of their speed and projectile attacks.

Kurojo deigns to piggyback you once more, yet you pause, holding your hand up. With a point to your nose you say, "I smell." You carry your finger over to your index for the repel-tech,"You don't feel her, the Nar-kage can't feel her.. I lead, and you show me the way?" You turn the repel-tech on and he seems perturbed again by the device. Nonetheless, he allows you on and you make sure to turn it low.

“Better?”

“Better.”

You're actually just as leery at another piggyback. Despite your blubber softening the jarring nature of his movements, riding his back like that makes you more than a bit sore. And then there's lots of touching. You can't remember the last time you got a piggyback. Was probably from Bruise, and that was just because he wanted to train.

Now that you think of it, You just met Kurojo and he's already helping you, even though he's scared. It's weird. Are all of his people this nice? Well, those three in that room weren't. They told him to do this though.

I looked like he was trying to get out of it... But he's still doing it.

Climbing onto his back, you take in a deep sniff at the air, catching some of the sea that's clung to Kurojo's body. You smell the herbs that Marine smashed. You point... West.

He starts off with a bit of a jog by his motions, what you'd call a run in comparison.

Hugging him tighter, you brace yourself against the jolts of his movements, correcting him when he's off the trail.

You know this smell.

Tapping Kurojo's shoulder with a bit of force, you get him to stop abruptly, sliding to a stop upon the cool moist earth of the jungle's night. You hear the cracking of a whip snapping above your heads as Kurojo ducks down.

The two of you look forward to see a humongous plant with a pitcher-like curve surrounded by a few others hanging from the lower branches of this forest's great trees.

A vine slowly slides back up and into the mouth of the pitcher, dribblings of a highly corrosive acid hitting the mulch of the earth, sending up steam as it eats through the tree droppings.

The thing's so big it could probably fit three of you. Heck, five of you.

If you hadn't caught wind of that scent, you might've gotten hit by that vine, or worse.

“Victree.” Kurojo whispers back to you as he begins to walk by it quietly,”Way?”

The sweet smell still fills your nose, eyes glued to the pitcher... Could she have...

There's no need to even get close to the plant. If we're close enough, Kurojo's aura abilities should be able to get past the repel tech and sense Marine. He could feel us even when we had our repel tech set to max earlier on, although he did say it was hard.

“Kurojo. C-can you sense her? Can you sense Marine in there?” You tremble, barely able to tame your imagination as it considers that Marine might be in there... You knew a Celadon from basic training that always had to wipe away her spit. She would do it with her hand sometimes and regret it immediately as her flesh would bubble and burn from the acid.

It happened to her more than once, she still had the scars on her hand the last you saw her. You can't remember her name right now but... She smelled like this creature. Only not so... pungent.

The bird replies,”No.” He can't feel her with the field around the two of you.
Accessing your index, you turn it off for a moment.

The smaller bells around the grand pitcher move!

Dropping down from their home above, they whip sharp leaves at you and Kurojo, a vine cracking at the two of you, and you feel a sudden surge from Kurojo as he finds that he's been lifted up into the air.

You feel a painful sting in your cheek and arms from the leave's bite. Celadon razor leaves were never for show, were they?

The bells seem to be busy growing back their implements even as Kuroji struggles in the corrosive vine of the pitcher, thrashing and scratching at the vine piteously as it slowly eats away at his feathers with a sickening sweet scent permeating the air once more.

You slash at the vine with your frozen claws, releasing him though at the cost of the acid making your fingertips tingle.

Back upon the ground, Kurojo runs on, zigzagging to avoid razor leaves with his sixth sense restored. He passes around one of the great trees here, huffing and puffing away as he nurses his wrist.

You wash the acid off of your fingers and claws, doing the same for him while apologizing.

“I thought she might be in there...” You say, not asking the question for you fear the answer.

“No. Marine not.” Kurojo shakes his wrist and pulls damaged feathers out with a wince, leaving him with a half-bald “bracelet.”

>>31131808

The current mission is to save her and, not to cut the dramatic tension by applying reality here, Prof can't kill her off-screen when we've done all that we reasonably can to look for her. That just isn't good QMing sense, especially when he made us roll to have her come with us and had her go missing when we arrived at the island.

So stop worrying.

>>
You apologize again, he doesn't say anything about that, “Smell?”

With the pungent aroma gone and your mind clear of that horrible “what-if,” you get back upon his back and point west once more.
You don't want to go back there.

The two of you slip around the nightly sights with Repel running. You keep your attention forward to alert Kurojo when he's about to run into something he can't see.

The path ahead narrows out between a few bushes, but you see that it's just enough to pass through and urge Kurojo onward and through.
You smell Marine through that way! Not just those herbs, but Marine!

Kurojo keeps on going, hustling through the narrow gap, bending branches and pushing through the brush. The two of you rustle the leaves as you continue forward, something knicks you in the throat, and only then do you realize that it drags across the surface of your skin, peeling back an extremely narrow strip that makes you cry out.

“Ow, ow, ow, ow! Kurojo, stop, wait. What is this?” You look around, and you no longer see an exit to the bushes as they seem to loom all around. It's all too late that you realize that you smell blood.
Kurojo likewise gets tense.

He pushes at the bushes all around him, only to be met with barbs that drag back at his hands, forcing sound out of him in frightful little shrieks.

The sound of you two reflexively crying for help seems to trigger something in this haunting foliage.

Before your very eyes, a face lights up from the dark, two large red eyes staring at you, inches from your face despite your position upon Kurojo's back.
Your body trembles as you find your fear leaking from your body, staring directly into the eyes of whatever horrible monster's gotten itself upon you.

Another set of glowing red eyes appears beside the first one, and then another, and another until...
There are as many as ten sets of eyes staring at you simoultaneously, the thorned branches dragging across yours and Kurojo's bodies, slowly cutting them and drawing out blood along with other little plights of pain.

The faces disappear all of a sudden, yet the bramble remains. Your heart beats hard in your chest as you press into Kurojo, trying to keep the moving bramble away from your eyes at the very least as it shifts and scratches against you, keen on digging up underneath your fur.

“Jump! Can you jump?!” You yell into his ear, and he begins to move his legs, kicking off at the ground to no avail as the bramble's trap extends above, leaving the two of you only to suffer more cuts and get caught deeper into this death trap.

As it closes in, you start to hyperventilate, chilling your body and spiking the fur on your outside.

The brambles are all around, cradling you and Kurojo in a cradles of thorns as the faces return, moving in time with the bushes, undulating to and fro with horrible mocking eyes, staring upon what could very well be your demise.

Kurojo's kicks and punches soon become more half-hearted as every attempt at escape is only met with more pain and biting thorns.

Your body begins to feel as though it's slowly going numb from all of the scratches, your muscles relaxing and your own little movements less erratic... It just hurts to much to deal with this thing.

Your eyes grow half-lidded and heavy even as you the thorns relieve you of your blood.

Suddenly, as though it's your last attempt to fight against death you expand a biting icy wind all around you while clinging to Kurojo, trying to keep it away from him.

“No, no, no, no, no, no, no...” You mutter as the small gust rages on, the plants reflexively pulling off of you, and not to rend you further.

The bushes quickly scatter, going into hiding and letting you and Kurojo go, even though you don't feel exactly right in the head anymore.
>>
Stumbling to the ground, Kurojo falls forward as you roll off of his back onto the newly created clearing from those stupid monsters leaving.

As you come to a stop upon your back, you smell Marine. She's not too far from here you'd bet. If only you could move your body the way you wanted to...

as an Aussie I can say that there is a lot of material here for poison and dark type pokemon.

White-tailed spiders which have flesh rotting bacteria on their fangs.

Kookaburra flying about laughing. killing and eating anything thats smaller.

The only humanoid poke that could thrive here would probably be Croagunk and Toxicroak as they are pretty much cane toads also their typing is good for poison and dark but their up shit creek with out a paddle against psychic.

You slowly and carefully reach for the medical supplies attached to your thigh. Should be a secure case right along there. Right...

You feel down for it. Not there? Other side. You grip tender, lacerated flesh and realize that it's not there either. Your swimsuit is in tatters and the air is still cold.

You labor every breath as you realize you're definitely suffering from the effects of paralysis. Next best bet would be to take a nap and hope it's gone by the time you wake up. You drench yourself in water and let yourself recover that way...
But what about Kurojo?

You look over to the birdman as he struggls to move, struggles to stand.as his body keeps giving out right before he makes it all the way up. It's pitiful, but it's probably about as much as what you can do right now.

You look to the perimeter, seeing the bramble watching you from afar, slowly closing in as though it's assessing its prey, wondering if you're going to get really cold again.

You see that one has your medical case hanging off of a thorn... It's hanging low, and well out of reach.

1 barrel of Psybeam so it can't dodge

Let's do it.
>>
>>31132731

Use Icicle Gun to knock the medical case down.

You stare at the bush intently slowly locking onto the thing and the strap of your med-kit for each of your guns.

It takes time as you feel lethargy grace your limbs and the things creep back in, shuffling ominously as the faces flicker back into existence with their frightening red eyes. You're not scared this time though.

You fire your icicle gun, severing the branch that your med-kit is attached to and then let your icy wind blow through the area to revitalize you, allowing ou to push off and grab the kit in a slide as you unload more icicles into the thing. Seeing it falter, you part with a chilling wind to secure it's lack of resolve.

You feel your legs fail at the wrong moment however as you kick back over to Kurojo, rolling as your body finds its way over to Kurojo.

Once more beside him, he looks at you with a pitiable expression laced with fear.

“Don't... Be sc-scared.... Kurojo.” You withdraw the paralysis-heal syringe from the pouch, and sink it into his body wherever, no need to find a vein.

You perform the same treatment upon yourself, soon able to get up and move again.

It's a good feeling.

Kurojo thanks you, the fear melting from his body. You point beyond the little clearing that those brambles used as a trap,” I smell her this way. We're almost there!”

You pull him ahead, getting through to find Marine lying just within the brush that separates the jungle from the sea.

She's not moving, but she's breathing, you can tell that she's breathing and you're downright ecstatic as you throw yourself over her to give her a great big hug.

“Marine!”You can't help but to squeal in joy as your friend mumbles back incoherently.

She must've been caught too....

As you reach for the syringe to give her treatment, a familiar shadow sweeps across the two of you...

It is. Some of the OCs I have in mind are kinda just "reskins" of other pokemon. Cousins pretty much.

Different behaviours, similar though possibly different typing and similar body makeup.

This one was actually based on Tangela.

I figure it makes more sense for different areas.

>Don't ask for a roll
Nah, but seeing things like "DC= Negligible!" Feels kinda good. Like...seeing 'not very effective' when you one shot something ya know?

Makes us feel strong. Because we're that insecure.
>>
>>31133286
Where as Cloyster had the tiny anti rape goblin, I always thought of the guy living inside Tangela the tiny rape gnome. They're brothers, but they don't really agree on a lot of things...
>>
>>31133258
>So don't ask for a roll?
I was thinking something like
>Attack autosuccess!
would work. It connects the choices and skills that the players have voted for to the actions they're making in a scenario that reflects actual control.
Though if ya don't want to indicate it at all, then go ahead. In my experience, not explicitly indicating autosuccesses contributes to the players underestimating their mc and getting frustrated with / avoiding everything. If that's the feeling you're trying to cultivate, then carry on.
>>
>>31133308
I'll do it. Just sounded strange initially.

Interesting though, in Overhuman I feel that Asher's abilities are pretty well understood. THen again, I went from the get-go with having it be diceless for the playersI just run 'em in the background.. I need to maintain it here and keep it functional.

In any case, the DC for the brambela or w/e you want to call them was lower than the bonus you guys got for Icy Wind.

Then they were slowed to the point that they couldn't act before your next turn.
>>
>>31133286

>>
>>31133356

Icy Wind gud.

>>31133361
Personally, the thought of all the vines being a part of something greater always creeped me out. Like, an entire section of living forest, where you know something is watching you, and controlling them, but you can't hit them or anything of the sort.

Course, we had super ice powers, so we didn't give it a big chance to show, but if that scene was any indicator, it's a pretty effective predator. That, and the whole unknown real body creeps me out personally.

>>31133388

Speaking of Overhuman, someone suggested an Oath for Pyromancy but you never got back to em on it before it 404'd. Basically it would combine the Warmup and the Burnout, but use it for different aspects.
Honestly, I doubt this would work, but I figure I should ask anyway.

>Oath of Warmup/Burnout
>When burn levels are at or above moderate, +rank for Pyromancy when using the aspects of it which would only require Pyrokinesis. -rank when below moderate.
>When burn levels are at or above moderate, -rank for Pyromancy when using aspects that go beyond Pyrokinesis (divination or whatever). +rank when below moderate.

The guy that suggested it wanted to do something like that, I think. I dunno if it would be a doable oath or if it would even be a good idea, since we don't know what the other aspects of Pyromancy are beyond the fire control and divination.

>>
>>31133427
Unless you'd rather, and I've been thinking of, divide Divination and Pyromancy in terms of things to spend points on.

Divination would pretty much be applicable to any magic with -mancy attributed to it and come with Pyromancy.
>>
>>31133409
it's pretty damn amazing. we get large bonuses for being in the cold.

simultaneously, everyone (our teammates included) get large minuses.
>>
>>31133518
Would you be able to divide it up so that it's kinda like the way Aquatic Perception is.

>-Pyromancy-(Primary Spell) [Rank]: Fire n shit
>Pyrokinesis- (Pyromancy Subability) [Rank+Oath(x)] : Throw around fire and make booms
>Divination- (Pyromancy Subability) [Rank+Oath(y)] : See dat future
>Other shit that Pyromancy lets you do- (Pyromancy Subability) [Rank+Oath(z)] : What it do

Have the ranks of the subabilities level up as Pyromancy does, like our Hydrokinesis and Aqua Perception does, but this way we could choose to oath each sub thing individually. With the way I presented it, we could oath each thing individually, or do Pyromancy as a whole, or whatever.
The x, y, and z in parenthesis after the +Oath was to indicate the possibility of having different ones. Not sure if that is something that should be done or not.
>>
>>31133579
We direct it away from them, anon. How many times does that have to be stated?
>>
>>31133518
Prof, you promised to keep discussion of your two different quests to their respective threads.
>>
So what exactly was the reasoning behind turning off our repel when we were at the victorybell?
>>
>>31133518
Then why not have divination be a subspell type thing and just make a note in its description that by default it uses the highest ranked -mancy spell you have?

I'm worried about the "and more" part, though. Lucifer said that it was more than just the fire control and divination, and dividing it all up into individual spells would make it relatively worthless.

If everything requires separate spending of points, then it would be better to just acquire all the other spells that mimick the parts separately so that we wouldn't have to visit Lucifer to level it up.

I think the best thing to do is to list all the different things you can do with Pyromancy as their own spells / subspells / whatever but note that their ranks are all tied to the main Pyromancy spell rank.
>>
>>31133781
And how the hell did a weepingbell out in the middle of no where get access to a leaf stone?

Probably an Evil type. And it'll likely be hard to punch if it has its bladed wings already.

It also likes to climb trees and pounce on you from above, and if it has its spiked tail already, it can fire them at you.

It'll be a goddamn dick to deal with, but hopefully we can wake up Marine and have two people good at punching shit to death on our side.
>>
>>31133977
That depends on a couple of things:
1) can they stay calm. Not panicking against Narga is incredibly important.

2) how bad the paralysis weakened everyone

3) getting that one good punch at his face. Narga's get concussed really easy
>>
>>31134009

>>
once we get marine back, we have PILES of pokemon to add to our pokedex.
>>
>>31133977
Well, this is going to be our first real battle. We'll want to distract the predator so that we can apply the paralyze heal to Marine.

Kurojo is probably too scared to fight the Nar-kage, so we should ask him to heal up Marine while we preoccupy the thing with our human SMARTS and INGENUITY.

It should help him win some brownie points with Marine, if she isn't too confused to attack him immediately.

If we can get Kurojo to fight with us properly, our fighting chances will probably go up pretty well.

I hope that we can simply dodge and icy wind an area around the monster thing until such time as it's an icerink and it loses its ninja powers to slipperiness.
>>
also, once we have marine back, we should make a habit of investigating the shoreline for any wreckage that washed up.

It'd be too optimistic to hope there were other survivors but, well, I hope there are other survivors.
>>
>>31135075
Well, unlike our own implant, the Nar-kage isn't accustomed to dealing with ice.

We'll want to use our Frost Breath on it along with Icy Wind.

Hopefully we'll be able to use Quick Attack to help out in dodging its attacks.
>>
>>31134067
would birdman even be frightened if he was super effective against it?

Its probably Poison/Flying in which case we can psybeam it and nail it with an icicle between the eyes.

Problem is with us being having crytten implants it may confuse us for a rival in its territory and singling us out forcing us to go on the defensive. The distant relation of crytten and Narga is pretty good fuel for smut writers too.

I love fighting Narga in monhun, I just use my lance and wait for openings, breaking its wings and severing its tail almost feels as good as bashing the armour off an Agnaktor or smashing the wing spikes and fangs of a Barioth
>>
>>31135117

>>
>>31135117

>>31135134
Nargas have a poisonous tail. Low chance of actually poisoning, though.
>>
>>31135075
I don't think it'll be that easy, as the Nar-Kage seems to be top shit here. More likely we use stall tactics like the Ice Floor trick, maybe get the beach to take it out of its element by getting to the beach where it out in the open
>>
>>31135167
I can't find any mention of that on the wiki page, but I'll take your word on it.
>>
>>31135171
We'd have to blow through the whole damn forest to get to the beach, though. And we aren't gonna outrun a Narga, juvenile or not.

Otherwise, Ice Floor might work if we can get it down in time, but it'll fuck up Kurojo, and Marine too, if she orients herself in time to fight.

>>31135176
I just used my friend as a source since he plays Monster Hunt a lot. He said it's possible to be poisoned from the tail, but it's a rare occurrence and he doesn't need to wear poison-resistant armor in the fight.
>>
>>31135176
>I can't find any mention of that on the wiki page, but I'll take your word on it.
I think it's because it's somehow able to get past the Kahkori's aura sensing abilities. Earlier on in this post here
>>31130774

Kurojo didn't even sense the Nar-kage's attack; he just ran away on a lucky guess.

So Ceru, who has night vision, and Marine, who has her radar fin, are perfect opponents for the stealthy Nar-kage. That is, compared to the Kahkori. The Nar-kage's biggest advantage, and why the Kahkori fear him, is because they can't sense or hear it when it attacks. With our guidance and warnings, Kurojo won't have to worry about that.

Which is why it's imperative that we get Marine up as soon as possible.

Whoops, didn't mean to greentext quote anything there.

But yeah, I hope you get my point. It'll be a tough fight, but it's going to be a 3 on 1 fight. 2 of us were trained exactly for this and Kurojo's a pretty fit fighter himself. With strategy and ICE COLD rationale to guide us, we'll get through the fight.

seems we have a lot of advantages and disadvantages the locals don't have based entirely on our typing.

I'm glad we have ice to go along with our water though, or we'd be helpless against plants.

I'm sure that Kurojo faintly sensed the Nar-kage the first time we got a glimpse of it.

He asked us to turn the repel-tech off for a reason, after all.

When we found Marine, though, we probably either still had it on or it's up in the goddamn trees, looming over us and out of Kurojo's line of 'sight'.

So I'm sure aura-sensing works on it. The problem is that there isn't much else that does, and if it's stalking you, it's already too late.

*still had the repel-tech on, preventing Kurojo from sensing, or the Nar-kage is up in the goddamn trees

>>31135117 here. probably both like its tail, stays smooth until it needs the spines for grip probably also has a numbing poison because spiked dick is unpleasent and not even a Narga wants to deal with a pissed off Narga in striking distance. I'm a little worried I don't often care for this kind of smut but a part of me likes seeing Ceru get bullied and now I am confused

Yeah. And then he didn't. Because the Nar-kage somehow hid itself from him.

And no, the repel tech was actually off when we met the Nar-kage. Right here in the beginning

Just before we saw the Nar-kage.

Nothing wrong with being into this kind of stuff. But I am worried that this is BASICALLY bestiality. I don't know, there just seems to be something different between real world animals and fictional ones that somehow make it a little better, but still...

Feline dicks only make the female ovulate.

Honestly though, I'm asking a preference thing from you guys. Smooth Nar-cock or feline Nar-cock?

>>31135269
If it rapes you, it's consenting.

Real world feline cocks are horrible. But this isn't the real world. So go with feline.

And now I feel horrible for participating in what is, on all accounts, bestiality.

He's got it right. So it looks like Marine and Cerulean's abilities will be what turns the fight around.
