You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

“Compliments of the Domino Lady.”

You hold the calling card in your hand to see that even MORE of your underwear has disappeared. Thankfully, you still have a few nice practical ones, but all the nice lacy ones are gone. Darn it. Those cost money, and unmatching panties and bras are the least attractive thing since Bronies.

You shudder. You remember the one guy to hit on you last year. So many ponies, such geek, and that Fedora. You’ll take being gay any other day of the week over having to date him again.

But regardless of interests in shows, today’s the day you go camping with the Girl Scouts and the rest of your team. Earlier this morning, you got texts from everyone saying that they’ll go. Nice of them, hopefully it won’t feel too forced.

You shuffle through your clothes. Might want to wear something practical today.

You swipe your credit card for all the hiking gear you’re grabbing with Kitten.

“Are you sure we need this?” asks Kitten.

You nod. “Positive!” You snap your fingers. “We got a heavy duty backpack, a tent for the two of us, a cooker, a lighter, a bearproof food storage can, life vests, first aide kit, inflatable raft, camelback, water bottles, flare gun, road flare, bowie knife, comfortable boots, long cargo pants, long shirts, vests, etcetera, etcetera.”

Kitten tilts her head curiously. “Why do we need a raft?”

“Kitten, we’re American,” you say. “That’s like saying why do we need Freedom?”

With that, you’re clad in a comfortable vest, a long brown shirt, dark green cargo pants, and a nice pair of sunglasses. Kitten as well is coming with the top half of her Tankery Uniform and dark brown cargo pants as well. On your backs are huge backpacks filled with all the gear you need to go camping.

… after lunch. You check the time. 9:30. Anything you want to do?

Kitten nods. “The sexy ones, including the ones Anna made for me.”

“Aw, those are my favorite!” you say. They were the cutest pair of panties this side of the Atlantic.

Kitten says, “I know!”

You decide to get the one thing you’ll be missing out on while you’re camping out at the forest, MILKSHAKES. As you and Kitten suck on some milkshakes, you decide to give Dory a call.

“Hey Dory, I-“

“Gertrude, can’t talk! Laying traps for the Domino Lady, going to take all day! BUT WE’LL CATCH THAT BITCH!”

“… okay, good luck then.”

“Yeah, see you!”

You head inside the Tankery HQ to find your Girl Scouts, clad in their Girl Scout uniforms and sashes, making the last preparations for the journey. Juliette greets you. “Hi, Gertrude. You’re early!”

You nod. “Yeah, Juliette, I was just in the neighborhood and…” You tilt your head. “Is that a machete?”

Juliette nods. “Gordon makes a point of having us carry machetes in case we run into pumas.”

Gordon nods as she strings her black compound bow. “That’s right, pumas are sneaky bastards next to Wolves and Kodiaks.”

You narrow your eyes. “… there are pumas on LGA?”

Gordon shrugs. “I dunno, but I ain’t risking.” She motions over to a spare machete. “You want one?”

“No thanks,” you say. You look at Juliette. “Anyway, Juliette, need help with anything?”

Juliette shakes her head. “Nah, we’re pretty much alright. Go ahead and relax.”

Think about it, it’s a romantic night, you’ve just had the most amazing date, and now you’re going to have sex-“

“That’s escalating quickly,” says Lisa.

“Whatever, point being is. You’re letting him strip you down-“

“Why would I let a guy strip me?”

“Shut up, Lisa. Point is, you’re letting him strip you down and see all the lace, all the lingerie from Victoria’s Secret and shit. The bra, the panties, all that, and he looks and sees how sexy it is!” you giggle a bit, blushing. “And he’ll be so enraptured, he’ll take your virginity so hard that women in a five mile radius will have an orgasm!”

Lisa looks at you like you’re crazy. “You’re crazy.”

“Not really,” you say. “I mean, you must have something sexy?”

Lisa crosses her arms. “I do have a nice pair of striped panties, does that count?”

You say, “I keep a pair of boxers, plain white, but they’re comfortable as FUCK.”

English is dumb. The way words are added to the vocabulary means it's very easy to make frequent mistakes and use words that aren't 'words'.

I don't get upset when somebody says irregardless because it makes sense and flows right when spoken. Enough people use it, it gets inducted into formal language.

Nothing too much to update on, just a few minor things in the list.

Adding the crews showed up an interesting problem. I know we're looking to upgrade the T-34 to the T-34-85 spec but in doing so, we're going to be letting a 3 man team drive a 5 man tank. They've been doing well enough for now but the additional seat they have to crawl over to help run the tank is probably going to cause problems. Baring the rifle club picking up new members, we likely have to settle for the T-34/57 upgrade. Historically it was not chosen due to the HE round requirement and thats something we can live without in senshado.

Also, I checked with schteel, the Panther chassis also requires a one week delivery period as reflected now in the doc. The animation team is gonna have to squeeze into the 120mm for a session before we decide whether to assign them to the spare sherman or the panther.

For last minute upgrades to the tanks, I'd suggest the improved engines for the Tiger II and more grouser kits for the tanks without (the 120mm has one which we can transfer over to another tank to save some money).

Finally we have two spare books and lots of teams who have yet to do their reading. It'll be a good idea to start loaning them out and retrieving the books from those who have already finished, like the delinquents.

You say, “Guys, this is camping. We’re going to be roughing it.” You stand up and hand in your cellphone to Juliette. “It’s only for one day. Besides, your cellphones will die without a charger anyway.”

Everyone mutters as they pull out their cellphones and turn them in.

> - 10 MORALE ACROSS ALL CREWS

As the crews hand in their phones into buckets, the bucket comes over to Kitten. “Not just cellphones, all electronic devices,” says Gordon as she holds the bucket towards her.

Kitten blinks. “I-I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

You place your hands on your hips, standing over Kitten. “Give it up, Kittycat.”

Kitten frowns, then pulls out her DS and drops it in.

“The PSP too,” you say.

Kitten frowns even harder, throwing in the PSP.

“And the Gameboys.”

Kitten looks to be on the verge of tears as she drops in the Gameboy, the Gameboy Color, the Gameboy Advance, and the Gameboy Advance SP.

“Good girl,” you say as you rustle her hair. Kitten sighs deeply.

“Haha! The Amazing Weiss will now make these cellphones disappear!” says Erika Weiss as she holds her hand out to Juliette. Juliette rolls her eyes, then slaps a five dollar buck in Weiss’ hand. Weiss throws her cloak over the buckets of cellphones, then swishes it to reveal that the cellphones are indeed gone.

That’d be nice if it weren’t your cellphone and Kitten’s many gaming peripherals among them.

Charlotte asks, “Where did they all go?”

Weiss says, “A magician never reveals her secrets!” She quickly pockets the five dollars and joins the rest of the crowd.

“Since when did we get magicians?” asks Samantha to Dales.

Dales shrugs. “Hell if I know.”

“Alright,” you say. “Juliette, you take point. Lafayette Girls Academy! March!”

Everyone leaves the Tankery HQ on the heels of the Girl Scouts. Everyone seems a bit sorry looking without their cellphones. Even you’re feeling a bit disconnected for some reason.

Oh, I wish I was in the land of cotton,
Old times there are not forgotten,

The rest of the team joins you like the good southerners they are.

Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land!

In Dixie Land, where I was born in,
Early on one frosty mornin’
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land!

I wish I was in Dixie! Hooray! Hooray!
In Dixie Land! I’ll take my stand!
To live and die in Dixie!
Away, away, away down south in Dixie!
Away, away, away down south in Dixie!

Everyone claps and gives a few cheers here and there.

> MORALE LOSS REVERSED

You place your hands in your pockets as your team enters into the thick foliage of Marshall Ney Forest. You climb over roots, bushes, and feel your cheeks and arms get slapped by branches and leaves and all manners of bugs.

The Girl Scouts meanwhile continue to lead you on like this is the most normal thing to them. Gordon taking point by cutting away at the foliage with her machete.

You slap away some bushes as you walk next to Kitten. “Having fun, Kitten?”

Kitten says, “No! It’s hot, my ass hurts, there are bugs everywhere, I get the feeling we’re about to get fucked by a puma, and I’m tired already.”

You sigh. “I’d hoped that Tankery would’ve gotten you in a shape by now.” You notice that Barkas is walking next to you. “Hey, Barkas. Great job on that haunted house for Halloween, how’d you get Fairless to do it?”

Barkas smiles. “We just asked if she’d help us. She’s actually quite nice! Fucking terrifying though.”

“Speaking of terrifying,” says Samantha. “We couldn’t get the damn machine gun on the T-34. Judges say it’s ahistorical.”

“That’s a shame,” says Janek. “At least you aren’t getting assailed on all sides by Swedes and Russians and Turks.”

You ask, “How is that UN thing going anyway, Janek?”

Janek shrugs. “Going well. Me and the girls were planning on a panty raid on Gustav’s dorm when we had the time.”

You say, “Well, don’t get yourselves in trouble, alright?”

“Indeed!” says Weiss. “Hey, for ten dollars I can have our Escape Artist specialist show you how to get out of a locked room!”

“We’re here!” says Juliette as she leads you all into a very grassy and overgrown clearing. “We’ll take a break here before we start climbing Montagne Mountain. Gordon will hunt for some deer.”

Gordon raises her hand, her compound bow in the other. “I’ll take volunteers.” The Rifle team all raise their hands, having brought hunting rifles with them. Elouise raises her hand as well.

Samantha nods as hands you and Kitten rifles, Kitten a Marlin Model 60 .22 and you a Winchester Model 1912 Pump Action Shotgun, along with a few pouches of spare ammunition. “Remember, trigger discipline and always keep them pointing at the ground if you ain’t shooting.”

As Gordon pokes around some tracks with her machete, you say to Elouise, “How are your midterms started yet?”

Elouise says, “They start Monday. If you’re wondering, I’m starting to study on my own, hell I did it on my own after I yelled at Zwillman after we left your place for having all those cats?”

You say, “You seem really close with Zwillman.”

Elouise shrugs. “She’s fucking useless on her own. If it weren’t for me, she’d have been expelled ages ago.”

“Ah,” you say. “You two are good friends then?”

“Eh… I suppose,” says Elouise. “We might not look like it, but I take care of her. Same way you do with Kitten.”

Kitten asks, “What was that?”

“Nothing,” says Elouise.

“How did she manage to hide twenty cats from you though?” you ask.

“I don’t know,” says Elouise. “You leave her own for a couple of months suddenly she’s a crazy cat lady.” She chuckles a bit at that.

Gordon says, “We’ve got a buck. It’s close.”

You blink. “You can tell that just from the tracks?”

Gordon points to a pile of scat. “Actually, there’s a huge pile of deer shit over there, but I suppose that’s one way of going about it. Come on.”

She sheathes her machete and quietly leads you on through the forest. Slowly and carefully, you all march through, keeping your heads on a swivel. Gordon raises her hand, causing you to stop. You all crawl up next to her as she points him out.

“Whoa,” says Kitten. “He’s amazing.”

“It’s standing with its broad side to us,” says Gordon. “Anyone want to try and take the lungs or the heart?”

You look over at Kitten. She shrugs, cradling her gun. Elouise also shrugs, looking away. You look at Gordon. “Alright,” says Gordon as she comes to a kneel, then nocks an arrow on the bowstring. “We’ll have to bleed the poor boy then.”

She looses the arrow. It hits the buck square in the chest, and it bolts off. “Come on!” yells Gordon as she starts running after it. You, Kitten, and Elouise stand up and run after her.

You hop over logs and rocks, crashing through bushes and branches. The adrenaline is pumping as your pursue the bleeding buck through the forest. Gordon yells, “This way!”

Gordon jumps down into a small gulley, and you follow her down. You all stop however when you see Gordon standing over the fallen buck, a second arrow sticking out of it. She quickly pulls out her machete then lines it up with the back of the neck, then slashes at it. The buck goes limp, its head falling to the ground lifeless.

“Whew,” says Gordon. “Quite a chase. I managed to get a second shot off on it while we were moving after it.”

“Nice job, Gordon. So are we eating that or anything? What do we do with it?”

Gordon says, “Well, meat’s probably gone bad. You usually want your deers to drop dead at first contact, keeps the meat fresh and red. Poor thing’s bled to death, so the venison won’t taste as good as it should I’m afraid. Still, you have to cull deer every now and again.” Gordon steps down and pulls out the arrows. She motions for Elouise to help her drag it. “Hopefully Samantha and her crew have got something better.”

You nod. “Sorry we couldn’t be much more help.”

“Ah, it’s fine. Hunting’s always fun in groups you know?” says Gordon, smiling. “You know, there’s this misconception that we hunters are just out to kill animals for fun and shit? That we are the greatest threat to endangered species. I say, Ha! If you let vermin like deer and rabbit get out of control, your shit is fucked, that’s why you have hunters.”

Kitten nods. “Lesson learned.”

“Right,” says Gordon. “Let’s head back to camp.”

With that, Gordon and Elouise drag the deer back. Soon, you’re back at the clearing. Everyone is in awe as you pull the stricken deer in.

You sit down on a log and sigh. That was a bit of a fun. You look around. The Freshmen are stringing their instruments and even getting their cameras together.

> Play something you guys like

You say, “No requests. Play what comes natural to you.”

Cathy nods, scratching her chin. “Ashleigh. Play something with me. Uh, Tara, Tabitha, Andrea, can you girls sing?” The three of them nod. Cathy starts strumming her guitar. You take up a camera and sit down next to them, recording them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJk1IX3p8J0

Tara starts off.

Once I stood at the foot,
Of a great high mountain,
That I wanted so much to climb,
And on top of this mountain was a beautiful fountain,
That flowed with the waters of life.

Tabitha and Andrea join her for the next.

I fell down on my knees
At the foot of this mountain
I cried, Oh Lord, What must I do
I want to climb this mountain
I want to drink from this fountain
That’s flowing so clear to my view.

When I heard a sweet voice
From the top of this mountain
Saying, Child put your hands in mine
Start climbing slowly, watch yourself at the edges
And take one step at a time.
I started climbing upwards
Taking one step at a time
The higher I got the harder I climbed

With that, Ashleigh flourishes into a slow, lonely, finish. Everyone around the Freshmen claps, cheering. “Thank you,” says Cathy. “How did we do?” she asks.

You say, “That was awesome!” You check the video on the camera. “This is definitely going on Youtube for sure.”

“Well it all depends if copyright doesn’t take us down,” says Andrea.

You shrug. “Whatever.” You look over to see the Rifle team are observing Gordon cut up and process the Rifle Team’s own kill. You hadn’t even noticed the Rifle team had managed to attain a kill but there it is.

Juliette says, “We’re going to be climbing the mountain now, girls. Let’s head out!”

Oh boy.

Kitten sighs. “Joy. Uphill battle.”

You say, “Don’t worry, Kitten. If you want, I can carry you up there.”

“Come on, girls!” you say. “We’ll get there.”

Everyone busts their asses as they head uphill, carrying their heavy packs. Kitten, along with the History Club and the Animation Club, trudge along at the back of the pack. The Polish meanwhile lead on right behind the Girl Scouts.

You say, “How much further, Juliette?”

Juliette says, “We’re going to come up to a clearing. That’s where we’ll make camp for the night.”

You nod, panting a bit, sweating. “Great!” Climbing uphill is starting to get the better of you actually.

Nancy and Lisa come up next to you, sweating but not deterred. “How you feeling, Boss?” asks Lisa.

“Could be worse,” says Lisa. “There could be some monster in these woods that’ll try to eat us,” she says.

Nancy laughs a bit. “There’s no monsters here!”

Juliette looks back, smirking. “Why do you think we brought along all these guns and weapons, Nancy?”

Nancy goes a bit pale at that. “Ehehe… there’s no monsters here right?”

You smile, patting Nancy on the back. “Don’t worry about it, Nancy.”

You arrive at the clearing, finally being able to take off your backpack and rest your back. Sweet bliss. “Come on!” yells Juliette. All of you walk after the Girl Scouts as they start running up further into the mountain.

Then you see these beautiful hot springs. The Girl Scouts all jump in, stripped of their clothes and underwear, laughing and playful.

“LET’S DO THIS!” yells Janek as all the Poles jump in, still fully clothed, cheering in Polish. They splash the Girl Scouts and engage in a splash fight with them.

You hop into a pool, still in the buff. Holy Christ this water feels great. It’s at the right temperature between comfortable and TOO HOT FOR COMFORT. The girls all start jumping in as they strip down.

Nancy and Lisa come sit down next to you in your pool, sighing with bliss. “Oh my goodness!” Nancy blushes, enjoying every second as she sinks down to her nose, blowing up some bubbles of air.

Lisa says, “This is great!”

Ramirez nods. Where did she come from? “If I were a crazy man, I’d take this mountain just so I could bathe in these pools all day.”

Meh, no arguing with that.

Kitten comes in and sits down into the pool next to you, moaning in sweet relief. “Oh my god! This water makes all this worth it!”

You nod, wrapping your arm around Kitten. “See, what I tell you? Nothing but barrels of fun, Kitten!”

You smile, leaning your head back on the cool rocks and deciding on simply relaxing. Kitten rests her head against her shoulder. Nancy and Lisa decide on chattering idly as Ramirez simply leans back.

All of your crews excitedly chat and play around in the pools. Seems like a well-earned rest for most, if not all of them.

You start pitching tents for everyone for when they start coming down. You say, “So, Low, Daisy. You girls alright?”

Daisy nods, grinning. “It’s always nice visiting Montagne Mountain Springs! The waters are so clear and warm. It’s like purification so to speak!”

Low nods, as she gets a tent in. “That’s right. These Springs have been here for quite some time. They’re special to us Girl Scouts. When we were all Freshmen, our Girl Scout ambassador led us up this mountain, and bathed with us in these springs. We did the same for Daisy when she came aboard.”

“Mhm!” Daisy smiles. “I can remember it like it was yesterday!”

Low smiles. “Anyway, Gertrude. Thanks a lot of helping us Girl Scouts out. Most people leave it after Middle School because apparently it’s not “cool”. Really though, Girl Scouts is the best thing since sliced bread.”

Daisy says, “Definitely better than the boys!”

“That’s right, Daisy,” says Low. “We’d be honored if you’d joined the Girl Scouts, Gertude.”

“Ah, I think I’m too old for that, Low, but thanks,” you say.

Low nods. “Anyway, go ahead and fix something. We’ll get the rest.”

You cook off the meat that Gordon had cut out from that one deer. The good meat, the other deer had been called in for removal to be skinned. Venison like this is going to taste lovely. You slice the meat into neat little digestible portions for everyone. Daisy looks over you as you do so, probably trying to learn how to cook. Poor girl still must not be able to cook cookies properly.

Once the sun starts going down, your tank crews start coming back down, wrapped in towels, damp, even a bit tired, but in high spirits.

“… and again with the sexy panties thing!” yells Lisa.

Nancy says, “I don’t see why you’re so hung up about it.”

Lisa bites into her venison portion and says, “But I am! Why is it so important that everyone have one pair!? Is it like some instinctual thing I’m missing?”

You say, “Didn’t I explain this to you, Lisa?”

“It wasn’t a good explanation,” she says.

“Okay, so basically what happened was that I was a kid, about ten or something. My parents wanted me to start riding the Subway on my own.”

Nancy blinks. “That young?”

“Yes, that young,” says Ramirez. “Anyway, they wanted me to start learning how to ride the Subway train on my own, I had already ridden with them since I was a baby and my parents were quite open about the fact that I was too ugly to get molested so they were fine it.”

You chuckle. “Too ugly to get molested?”

“That’s another story for another time, anyway, what happened was that I was standing right at the edge of the platform. I tripped and fell in.”

Lisa says, “Just like that? You fell in?”

“Fell in,” says Ramirez. “Everyone was screaming, crying that the train was coming. One guy though, he dropped down, picked me up and then hopped out right before the train hit him.”

Kitten says, “That’s so brave! What was his name?”

“Leonardo DiCaprio.”

You scoff. “No. You did not get rescued by Leo DiCaprio.”

“I did, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it,” says Ramirez. “From then on, I decided to just walk everywhere.”

“You got any stories, Nancy?”

Nancy shakes her head. “Ah, nothing really exciting happened in Utah.”

“I think that’s the real horror story,” says Lisa. “Living in Utah.”

Nancy says, “Now Lisa, Utah’s a nice place. Mostly considered either flyover country or Mormon territory but it’s still nice!”

You say, “When was the last time you were back there?”

“Oh,” says Nancy. “For the summer a couple months ago.” You blink. Was that a hint of lying to that tone? “Visiting my old hometown was quite the experience, especially after a year at sea you know?”

You nod. “Yeah. It felt pretty weird coming back to the house.”

Kitten says, “But still you know? It’s nice to see your family.”

“Of course!” says Nancy. “We Mormons are very family-oriented.” She looks over at Lisa. “Got any stories, Lisa?”

Lisa shrugs. “Not too interesting an experience my childhood was unfortunately, nor was my Freshmen year at LGA. If anything, the most interesting thing I could tell you guys was the fact that I once fell out of a tree when I was a kid.”

You ask, “What happened?”

“I fell out of a tree,” says Lisa.

You read a book as everyone talks idly and finishes off their venison. You don’t know why you’re reading this book but you must not have packed anything better.

> Strange German Book: Progress: 50%

As you all start to turn in for the night, you catch Nancy before she heads into her tent with Ramirez and Lisa. “Nancy, can I talk to you for a second?”

“Sure, what is it?” says Nancy.

You shrug. “Are you… lying about something?”

Nancy crosses her arms, frowning. Oh jeez. “Are you saying I’m a liar?”

“No, no…” you say. “I’m just- I’m… There’s something about your story. I consider myself a good bullshit detector honestly. I- Uh… was wondering if there was something bothering you? Egging you or anything?”

Nancy smiles. “I’m fine, President.”

“You can call me by my name you know,” you say. “We’re friends, Nancy.”

Nancy giggles. “Gertrude then. I’m fine. You shouldn’t worry.”

WORRYING INTENSIFIES. “Are you sure?”

Nancy smiles. You can clearly tell that smile is forced. “Yes.” She leads you to your tent. “Go to sleep, Gertrude. We’ll see you in the morning.”

You nod. “Alright, Nancy.” With that, Nancy returns to her tent.

You slide in next to Kitten, who is busy undoing her jacket.

You could not get more bored of this author’s prose. There’s still a great lack of a description, a lot of the conversations of which there are a lot tend to suffer from this thing where they say stuff but do little else, and there’s still the problem of oversaturation of characters. It’s killing you trying to figure out what this reminds you of.

> Read a Book (Strange German Book)

Once you get free of your own pants, Kitten asks you, “Mind helping me out of my pants? Bit of a tight fit here.”

You nod, “Sure.” Kitten rests her legs across your lap, then you unzip her cargo pants, and pull them right off in one fell swoop. You look at Kitten’s impressive legs. “… you’ve been shaving, Kitten.”

Kitten blushes, rolling her eyes. “I may have gotten into the habit, yes.”

“That’s good!” you say, smiling.

“Something wrong,” asks Kitten.

“Huh?”

“There’s something on your face saying that there’s something wrong,” says Kitten.

You frown, shrugging. There goes your good mood. “Well… there’s something off about Nancy. I can’t really put my finger on it, you know?”

Kitten nods, sitting next to you. She shrugs off her jacket and tosses it amongst her pants. Now she simply sits in the Tankery blouse and her pink panties. “Ah, I see. It’s always the nice ones, isn’t it?”

You nod. “Maybe. I want to help her, you know?”

“Trudy, you can’t solve everyone’s problems,” says Kitten. “I mean, Nancy might be an exception. I like Nancy, she’s so nice, you know?”

You lie back, letting Kitten cuddle up next to you. You toss the blanket over the both of you, wrapping it around and getting cozy. “Yeah, Kitten. I suppose.”

Kitten kisses you on the cheek, nuzzling you. “Get some sleep, Trudy.”

You nod. “Good night, Kitten.” You turn off the lantern.

30k to turn the panther chassis into a panther? so all up its going to cost more than 50k to bring it to comp spec, more than buying the Tiger II, that seems WAY too much for simply restoring the chassis to what is already is.

why is it the same for turning it into a jagdpanther, that requires extensive modification of the hull and chassis to completely redo the superstructure

Both arrive on Friday. It takes a day to refit and so it'll be done by sat morning.

They team won't have time to practice but its still a full tank to deploy and the team taking it can train with the 120mm first to have a feel of how a tank works.

Of course, we can have both the Magicians and animation teams take turns with the M4A4 so that the animation team will be somewhat familiar with te M4A3.
>>
>>30883038
Still does not make sense for Jagdpanther to be the same cost as the cheaper to produce standard Panther, the reason they didn't make many and tried to make mroe Panthers as opposed to Jagd's was because of the effort and manhours involved in converting the superstructure to fit the new gun, mount and crew space.

>>30883052
>>30883074
true, but it still means its gonna cost 50 fucking thousand dollars to get a Panther in usable condition which was 5 mroe than our Konigstiger IIRC
>>
>>30883098

Schteel, for the tanks arriving on friday, we'll have time to convert one of them, yes?

>>

>>30883125

>>
>>30883124
so if buying a vintage spec complete panther is worth 30k, then why the fuck should we get the chassis and not just buy one off of Maho?
>>
>>30883147
it would be better than no practice at all, but its a moot point per >>30883155 the new tanks won't be ready in time, so we'll have to make do with the M4A4 currently being converted to be the only addition we bring
>>
>>30883147

Some practice is better than none.

And i'd rather field a comp spec. sherman or panther rather than a vintage chi-ha. Besides, they'll be meatshields in this match. Way too early for them to do anything.

>>30883155

>>
>>30883206

Still we can drop a call to the Tank shop.

We tell him that we want the incoming sherman to be converted to com spec the moment it comes in, he might be able to get tools and parts ready before hand.

He might even be prepared to work overtime to get it done if we ask nicely.
>>
>>30883292
whats the point of rushing him if they won't be readily usable for the match, why not ask for it to be comp spec'd when it gets here and not rush him
>>
>>30883211
The Chi-Ha is not Vintage it's Comp.Spec, don't you see the Tank Roster.

>>30883098
Actually the Jadpanther is Cheaper to produce, the reason Nazi Germany made so many tank destroyers is because to extend older model chassis longer and it was easier to fit a gun onto a super structure rather then make a turret.
>>
>>30883292
We're not using it for the match against Chi-Ha-Tan.

None of the crews know how to operate a Sherman (the new ones at least)
>>
>>30883255
You need to fix the CHi-Ha's status, it's not vintage, it's comp.spec
>>
>>30883392

We're also going to be field teams that have barely one or two sessions in their new tanks.

At this point is just having a tank that is better than the chi-ha. The sherman or panther would be able to withstand shots from the bog standard chi-has.
>>
>>30883357
>Actually the Jadpanther is Cheaper to produce
Not when they had limited factories tooled to produce hulls and turrets and had to change over lines to modify hulls or build hulls from scratch.

It might be cheaper in a purely resource based reasoning, but when you base the value expense value of a tank being made during wartime, you take into account its effect on your production lines and your factories tooling, the manhours it requires to leave the factory, and the amount of infrastructure support it requires from other factories to complete (things like guns, mounts, sights etc being from different factories and companies). All that makes it more expensive to produce that the standard model.

For things like the StuG and StuH as well as the Jagdpanzer 38(t), their production lines were readily available when they were made as efforts shifted from purely Pz. III & IV production to other designs, it was a way of making the older factories and production lines helping to make the obselete early war designs into useful vehicles, but on Panther and Tiger II lines, the Jagd conversion process was rather costly.
>>
>>30883422

Ah, thanks for that. Made a mistake.
>>
>>30883529
Good thing we're not in the middle of WW2.
>>
>>30883579
True, but that anon made his argument from the point of it being cheaper for Nazi Germany to produce, so I made my argument against that.
>>
>>30883517
Those one or two lessons, will have them learn the basics control, and how to operate their gun.

Giving them the Sherman on the day of the match with no prior experience will make them worse off.

>>30883529
But if what your saying is true, then the Jadpanther is cheaper then.

Factories were being bombed and they needed machines fast, rather then spend the extra manhours creating parts for the turret and fitting, they can cut down the time by just fitting the gun into the chassis thus making more time to make more tanks.

The Panther while a great tank was over engineered like most German machines, however since we have a chassis it will probably be cheaper to just convert it into a Tank Destroyer, rather having a fully operational Panther and chopping it up for the 88mm gun
>>
>>30883696
confirmed for not reading
>>
>>30883696
> however since we have a chassis it will probably be cheaper to just convert it into a Tank Destroyer, rather having a fully operational Panther and chopping it up for the 88mm gun
true on a purely resource based reasoning, but I'd still not want a Jagdpanther for the reasons we never converted our first Panther, our team relies on turrets tanks that can be flexible and versatile, and the Jagdpanther can't do that, sure its a brilliant TD, but we don't use them in our tactics alot, other than the StuG and Brumbar which is an Assault Gun.

Even if it does end up cheaper or not, I still won't vote for converting the chassis to a Jagdpanther, cause our team uses turreted tanks better and in more roles with more flexible tactics

And besides, I want to eventually upgrade an Ausf. G into a vampyr night-fighting tank when we inevitably have a night time match
>>
>>30883776
I did read but from what I understood of it, while it is true that changing something to a production line will normally increase the cost of a model, However casemate designs were created for the sole fact that their were, faster, cheaper, and easier to make then a turreted tank.

Why wait for one factory to make the turret if you already the hull and the gun.
>>
>>30883822
I can understand your misgivings on why you don't want the jadpanther (though I like it myself). Since it is versatile.

I was just explaining on why the Jadpanther is cheaper then the Panther itself.

But we already have a Ausf G., we just need the night equipment. I don't get it
>>
>>30883874

Yes, but over time.

The retooling of the factories to create molds, processes and equipment required an upfront cost that had not been paid back by the time the war ended. The production run was just too short.
>>
>>30883927
>But we already have a Ausf G., we just need the night equipment. I don't get it
why have only 1 night-fighting tank when we can have 2?
>>
>>30884037

Can we equip any of our other tanks for night fighting?
>>
>>30884035
That's the same for any tank.

Also to make up for that they could have just stop making the turrets and focus on the casemates to ease production and costs and to some extent Germany did.

Also we have the chassis of a Panther while I'm not saying we should convert it into one, the fact that it is easier to produce due to not needing the parts for the turret will cut the cost.
>>
>>30884079
the russians were developing early IR night sights towards the end of the war, but nothing in the timespan, and the only ones to field IR night sights before the rules cutoff date were the germans or the british with their stupid massive spotlights like the M3 CDL that WC had we fought against
>>
>>30884121
making the superstructure is still a separate process for the chassis, and Germany didn't stop making turrets for them, they just stopped making Jagdpanthers because they had bigger concerns than streamlining one factories production line, where do you think all those Pantherturm bunkers and anti-tank pillboxes in berlin came from?
