(Please excuse that minor mistake. Again, I will be going to lunch at some point during this session)

Today is a repeat of yesterday. Tomorrow will be a repeat of today. Life under the Chief's tyranny doesn't change all that often.

You find yourself in the student council's office. Prior to the Chief's overnight takeover, you never had much of a reason to come in here. These days, you think you could navigate the sea of file cabinets and oaken desks while blindfolded. There is always a dusty smell to the room, even though you can tell that whoever Chief has cleaning does a thorough job removing every particle that could be out of place.

As usual, the Chief is seated at the large desk at the back of the room. The afternoon sun filters through the blinds, giving her the trademark radiant glow you've come to expect from your Student Council President. She's idly flipping through one of your old comic books with a bored expression on her face; looks like she doesn't like Galactic Space Team nearly as much as Heartbeat: Darkness or Monster-Musume High. Your eyes roam over the rest of her desk, noting the stacks of paper, along with rubber stamps and pens. The placard on the desk reads "Rosa Albu" but you have a hard time thinking of her as anything but the Chief.

Eventually, the Chief puts the book down, finally acknowledging your presence. Her lips purse for a moment, then settle into a faint frown. Looks like she's still upset with you.

"So then, Wild Card, you understand why I've called you here today, right?"

>More UGN work? Isn't this abuse of authority?
>Another comic book recommendation? Can't she just go on the internet or something?
>Relationship advice? The Chief gets hit on all the time, doesn't she?

He didn't put quest in the thread title, prompting no less than four different posters to show up and inform him about it, even though literally the second post in the thread was him going "whoops, sorry about that."

What? Does she want you to give her more of your comic book collection? She has to know that you only have a couple fanservice oriented titles, and she's already gone through two of them. She should just go on 2san if she wants to find out about more titles to read.

"While I am less than enthralled by this Galactic Space Team book you have lent me, I didn't call you here for a book club meeting."

The Chief gets up and turns around, peering through the blinds.

"You know what's coming up in a few days, yes?"

Hm...it's August so maybe you're supposed to change seats soon? You can't wait to get away from Claire, your UGN appointed babysitter. Changing seats would make it harder for her to incessantly whisper in your ears and otherwise molest you. As you consider the possibilities of a life without Claire constantly trying to pet you, the Chief lets out a sigh and puts her hands on her hips.

"It's Fitness Day, Wild Card, New Zanizibar Fitness day? You must be aware of one of the biggest events of the year. Didn't you grow up here?"
>>
>>29803098

Oh yeah, you suppose that is coming up soon. You never much participated in those sorts of things, so you constantly forget about it. So what does the Chief want? Fix some events? Your newfound physicality should let you easily set any record you want for any event.

"As if I'd be interested in something so crass! Honestly, I don't know how Claire tolerates you."

She reaches into her desk and pulls out a pamphlet. After she hands it to you, you take the time to look it over. Seems like the private schools are holding a cooperative event with your own public school. Well, that's rare.

"Yes, very rare. And also very dangerous. Diablos has yet to be caught, which means that his terrorist organization has just been handed a very large target."

>You think you know where this is headed. So, what does the Chief want you to do?
>They still haven't caught Diablos? What has the Chief been doing this whole time?

Don't worry. It's a proven fact that MCs that are forced to crossdress even once (with the disguise including really long hair) are inherently best girls.
>>
>>29803126
>Oh fuck no.
Cap does not like where the all-girls thing is going. Walk right out.
>>
>>29803126
...Why is every school in this pamphlet an All-Girl's school?

"Our school, St. Joseph's Public School, has had an outstanding series of girl's athletic teams for the past few years. The private academies must feel like they have something to prove to the parents of their students. It's good for increasing enrollment rates and normally I would not be alarmed by this. However, with circumstances being what they are..."

So, basically, because the private schools felt like picking a fight with your sports teams, most of New Zanzibar's youth will be all in one place for Diablos to target?

"Precisely. It could not have come at a worse time for us. Therefore, I have taken steps to increase the security at this event. However, I simply do not have the number of agents required to cover an event this large. I am aware that you are not a UGN agent, but nevertheless, I shall be conscripting you as additional security."
>>
>>29803669
This is completely unfair. You've already been forced to do so much. Putting aside that incident a few months ago, she's had you do all manner of UGN work under the pretense of having a small staff. You object strongly, slamming your hand down on the desk.

"I will not take no for an answer, Wild Card! Need I remind you that you are on thin ice for your provocations already? Try not to think of this as UGN work, but as a favor to your Student Council President. If you do well, I'll count it toward your observation time."

You get the feeling that there's no fighting the Chief on this and slump your shoulders.

"Good, good. That's all for today. I need to make arrangements so that you can meet with one of the agents we've placed within the private academy. I'll have more details for you tomorrow. Dismissed!"

>Well, this was awful. Maybe you should go have some fun to take your mind off it?
>Time to go home. This conversation wore you out.
>Maybe you could try chatting with the Chief? If you get on her good side, she might lighten your workload.

You think it's probably a good idea to get in the Chief's good graces. After all, if the Chief is in a good mood, you might have an easier time of things.

"What are you still here for? Is there something you needed?"

You wrack your brain for a topic, any topic, that might pique the Chief's interest. You have still been holding out on her with those back issues of Heartbeat. She won't be able to catch up to the weekly releases without your cache of books, so maybe that could be a good angle for you to try? You try to lead into it by asking about her favorite characters.

"...Well, since you asked, I suppose I have no choice but to tell you. Princess LuLu of the Demonoke planet is by far my favorite character. She's so beautiful and honest with her feelings, but has that air of innocence about her that so few people possess anymore. I also like Haruka, to be honest. While she's rather plain, she's still such a sweet and earnest girl."
>>
>>29804411
Ahh, it already feels like you're reading a 2san discussion. For a while, you attempt to listen while the Chief continues to blab on about which girls she thinks are the best in Heartbeat: Darkness. Eventually, feeling like you can no longer bear to listen to her fan-rant, you offer her the next issue of the comic.

"Oh? Would you? That's very kind," the Chief smiles coldly, "I still haven't forgotten how you slandered me."

You don't think you made much of an impact...You shrug your shoulders and leave the office. The moment you step out of the room, you see Claire waiting for you. She seems to have really taken to the idea of wearing her hair with a side tail these days. The other girls in class must have taught her to how to do it for herself. You see her pop a cinnamon candy into her mouth before standing at attention.

"Welcome back, Captain. Would you like to go home? Would you like to get something to eat? Or would you rather take me into the restroom and have your way with me?"

You sigh.

>Home sounds nice.
>You are a little hungry.
>Maybe you should learn more about these schools you're going to be working with?

>"Welcome back, Captain. Would you like to go home? Would you like to get something to eat? Or would you rather take me into the restroom and have your way with me?"

So this has been the captains life, the poor bastard.

>>

>>
>>29804498

>>
>>29804436
>Maybe you should learn more about these schools you're going to be working with?
On the one hand, we need to get some information. On the other hand, expressing interest in girls' schools (and, therefore, other girls) could lead Claire to redouble her efforts. I say we risk it, though. Time spent working on this security detail is time we're not directly interacting with the rest of the team.

>>29804498
I know, right? I'm kind of disappointed that our response to the Chief asking "How does Claire put up with you" wasn't "I know, I'm being as insufferable as I can and it just isn't working!"

Also, Claire has both the Angel Halo and Morpheus syndromes. Which means she can conjure illusions for visual fetishes and transmute matter for any props she might need. She's ready at any time to fulfill any fetish we might have. Well, any fetishes that don't involve her own body transforming. Wait, is that why she's so into Chimeras? Because body-morphing is the one fetish she can't do on her own? Would she have a similar thing for Exiles, then?

That's why she's been so happy when we pass out in Chimera form. It's not because she's been groping us, it's because it gives her a chance to study our fur so she can reproduce its texture in cloth later. She's got some weird plush real doll of wolf form Captain that she uses her illusions to make talk to her. But it's just not as good, because it can't move, and she wants to be the one helplessly ravaged, not the other way around. Ruins the fantasy.

So far it hasn't been an issue. Mostly because we're not waifuing anyone. We're counter-waifuing, trying to make the Captain as undesirable a romantic partner as possible. >>29804436
You must admit, you are a little hungry. You haven't had a full hunger attack since your first days as an Overed, but you still feel like you eat more than you used to.

"Splendid, Captain. Shall I lay the food out on my body? I wouldn't mind if you'd like to take a bite."

A short while later, you are at the Benny's as usual, eating your usual concoction: hashbrowns and scrambled eggs, mixed together with a liberal dose of ketchup and hot sauce. You don't actually like the taste very much, but it's filling and the condiments take away from the stale taste the food usually has here. Across the table, Claire is munching on a piece of buttered toast.

"...I will not say I'm disappointed, Captain, but I sometimes wonder if you are homosexual."

You put Claire's comment aside and look over the pamphlet again. Mary Magdalene's School for Upcoming Young Ladies, North-Star Girl's Academy, Yamada Girl's Prep School. You don't really know anything about these places.

"I can help you with that, Captain. If there's one in particular you'd like to know about, please ask me. Otherwise, I can give you a short summary of each. While I'd like to tell you everything about all of them, you do have homework tonight and I cannot distract you from your studies unless it is for a far more carnal matter."

You check your watch. She's right, it's already pretty late. You'll need to head back and get your work done soon, so you decide to keep this brief.

Schizoid personality disorder.

At least four of the following:
1. Emotional coldness, detachment or reduced affect.
2. Limited capacity to express either positive or negative emotions towards others.
3. Consistent preference for solitary activities.
4. Very few, if any, close friends or relationships, and a lack of desire for such.
5. Indifference to either praise or criticism.
6. Little interest in having sexual experiences with another person (taking into account age).
7. Taking pleasure in few, if any, activities.
8. Indifference to social norms and conventions.
9. Preoccupation with fantasy and introspection.

That would explain the Captain's lack of libido and resistance to pain. But yeah, schizoid personality disorder would fit him pretty well.

You're going to be working with all of them in the end, so it's best to at least have a little information on those schools. Claire nods, putting her toast down and clearing her throat.

"Mary Magdalene's School for Upcoming Young Ladies is a Catholic school run by nuns. The girls there are kept away from the rest of New Zanzibar and are rarely given permission to leave campus. They have a curriculum which includes many different theological courses, most of which are not Catholic. I'm told that the have the best fencing club, and are a sure win for that competition."

"North-Star Girl's Academy is actually a military school, created to help foster more women soldiers for America's armed forces. North-Star has the most demanding physical regimen, and they are expected to perform well in track and field. As for the students, while they're generally very disciplined on campus there are many reports of them engaging in less-than-moral behaviour when given permission to go out on the town."

"Yamada Girl's Prep School was founded by a wealthy widow from Japan. She created the school solely to make a safe, sterile environment for her daughter. Though Yamada Girl's Prep is most famous for the tea produced by their tea ceremony club, they have a strong archery team and are expected to at least place second. Yamada Girl's Prep students are easily recognizable because of their old style sailor uniform and long skirts."
>>
>>29806051
They all sound like they're going to be trouble to watch. You wonder how you're even supposed to do your job of most of them keep boys at length.

"Don't worry, Captain," Claire gives you a thumbs up, "I talked the Chief out of making you crossdress."

Well...thank you for that, Claire. You pay the bill and head home. You've got homework to do and a full day tomorrow.

The next day, you find yourself waiting at a coffee shop after school. It pains you to be so close to something you can no longer enjoy, but you can't really help it in this case. The Chief would skin you alive if you didn't at least show up. You're supposed to meet the agent here today, but they still haven't shown and it's getting late. Thankfully, Claire is in the toilet at the moment, so you have a few minutes of peace. It's already past the time your contact is supposed to show up...maybe you should just forget about it?

It's not worth the hassle to blow this off. Let's just stick around and drink our coffee. If this agent shows up, they show up. If not, we leave. And hey, maybe we can still get affected by caffeine if we drink enough of it. We haven't tested that yet. Lethal dose is somewhere around 150 mg/ kg of body mass. That's about 90 cups for an average human. Let's see if reaching that level gets us anywhere.

Being able to achieve physical contact with someone with out feeling the need to question why or to feel a gently rising panic.

You decide to stick it out and wait. As you raise the cup to your lips, you hear a thud as another customer's head hits the table. You turn to see that, one by one, all the other people in the coffee shop are falling over on their tables or slumping down on the floor. A tingling feeling at the base of your spine confirms your suspicions. This is Warding. You look out the large window of the shop to see a young woman approaching. As she reaches the entrance, she turns around once and then throws the door open.

"I have arrived!"

She steps in, her knee-length golden hair swaying behind her. She's certainly dressed oddly; black stockings and knee high boots cover her legs, but what draws your attention is the extremely frilly and lacy outfit she's wearing. Cords and white frill cover her, complete with large bows and ribbons. Bandages cover her left arm while her right side has a variety of bracelets and rings. Isn't this what you call gothic fashion?

Despite her strange garb, a few other things catch your attention. Bright red eyes focus on you, and within them, you can see the hue shifting slightly every few seconds. And down below her eyes...

They're huge.

Every step she takes toward you comes with a bounce. You can't say you're particularly interested, but the constant movement and sway makes it difficult to not look. Desperate to retain what dignity you have, you bring your gaze back up to her face.

"Greetings, Wild Card--or should I say Cerberus? I am Fallen Angel, your contact within the Church's prison of maidens! I can sense your overflowing spirit and I must say, I am impressed!"

She covers her mouth with the back of her hand and lets loose the cheesiest laugh you've heard in years.

>Stay calm. Greet her normally.
>This has to be some kind of a trap. Intimidate her.

You attempt to have a regular greeting. You hold out your hand for a quick shake, the usual noncommittal stuff.

"Ah, I didn't know Cerberus was a gentleman! A noble beast indeed. Very well, I will grant you this small pleasure."

She places her hand on top of yours and closes her eyes. You're not really sure what to do here, this doesn't look like a handshake to you. After a moment, Fallen Angel peeks out at you.

"...H-hey, come on. Go ahead and kneel."

Is this some kind of UGN password? You weren't told about this. Still, you know better than to think about anything the UGN does and go ahead and drop down on your knee. Again, there's almost a minute of silence and nothing happens. Eventually, Fallen Angel leans over and gets in your face.

"Hey, what's the big idea!? Don't you know you're supposed to kiss the lady's hand?"

You'd like to answer her angry glare for angry glare but, instinctively, your eyes drop down a couple inches. It's at this time that you hear Claire.

"So that is the Captain's preference... How vexing..."

You look over to see Claire giving you a cold stare. While it doesn't look like her face has changed any, you can feel the air in the room lose all warmth. Immediately, you get back up and sit down.

"Speeding Bullets," Angel begins, taking her hand away from you and giving a small curtsy,"I did not think to see you again after you transferred out of Mary Magdalene's. It's been so lonely without you."

"Fallen Angel," Claire answers back, mimicking the curtsy perfectly, "I see you have not let your training lapse. You have certainly exceeded my expectations...by at least six centimeters."

"Six centimeters? What do you mean...?"

While you'd like to stay out of this conversation, you were supposed to receive your next set of instructions from Fallen Angel.

>>

"I have no preferences, that is the issue Claire. Now instructions if you would."
>>
>>29807699
There's more history here than you'd like to get into at the moment. For now, you just need the instructions you came here for.

"I agree, Cerberus. Allow me to present to you your Holy Seal."

Angel presents you with a small ID card. It already has your picture on it, along with your personal information and other assorted serial numbers. Across the top is written 'Fitness Day Cross Campus Celebration Committee'.

"This Seal shall allow you passage into the halls of Polaris, the secret gardens of the East, and even the Church's foul prison. Treasure it, Cerberus, for such a privilege only happens once a century."

So, basically, this card will let you go through the girl's campuses without too much trouble. You suppose this is how the Chief expects you to start your security duties. You pocket the card and give your thanks to Fallen Angel. She smiles and gives another laugh, causing you to wince from sheer volume and childishness.

"It is nothing, oh divine beast, I look forward to working with you! I have much to learn from a devilslayer such as yourself."

Right.

"Well then, Captain, we must be off. Goodbye, Angel. Stay in good health."

Claire practically shoves you out of the coffee shop before resuming her normal demeanour. She takes a few steps out in front of you, then turns to face you.

"Our duties begin today. I can show you to any of the campuses. Inspecting a campus will take some time, so I do not suggest attempting to visit more than one in a single trip. We have several days until the athletic meet, so please, tell me which one you would like to visit today."

After a moment, she speaks up.

"Ah, but if we could avoid Mary Magdalene's today, I would most appreciate it."

Although you briefly consider heading to Mary Magdalene's, simply to spite Claire for all the grief she's given you, you realize that you'll do your job better by investigating the athletic fields where the competitions will be held first.

"Excellent thinking, Captain. And thank you for abstaining from visiting Magdalene's today. I was not looking forward to some faces I would see there."

--

The fields stretch out in front of you. Measuring about two square miles, the fields are large, green, and well maintained. Bleachers have been set up at certain sections, probably for each individual event, and you can see a large blacktop parking lot in the distance. Most don't use cars around here, so you're pretty sure that the parking lot is only used for sports which require a nice, smooth surface like basketball. The running track cuts a large red oval in the middle of the green range, giving you an easy reference point for figuring out where you are and where you've been.

Still, this is a rather large area to check for threats.

"The police regularly check for simple things like explosives or hidden firearms, Captain, so we shall only be looking for things they won't see."

That's right. These aren't just normal terrorists you're worried about. They've got much more dangerous things than guns or bombs. You decide you'll do this in sections, combing over the area over a period of days. All that's left is to decide where to start searching.

[Searching the Fields: You have enough time to thoroughly search one section of the athletic fields a day, in addition to any of your other security or investigative duties. Depending on who you bring with you, you may experience different results or uncover different clues. As long as you have time before the meet, you can always revisit an area with new companions. ]

You decide to search the blacktop with Claire.

The blacktop feels soft and rubbery under the heat of the August sun, and you spend most of your time crawling around on your knees, attempting to find something, anything of note or value. After about an hour of searching, all you discover is that you've worn a hole in the knees of your pants. Fed up, you sit down on the parking lot and try to figure out how you should rethink this. Eventually, Claire comes over with a bottle of water and you greedily gulp it down without a second thought.

"I cannot see anything out of place. I'm sorry, Captain, but this water is all I can do right now."

Well that's just great. Even so, you wonder why this blacktop is so damn hot and soft. You don't think it's a particularly hot day, at least for New Zanzibar, so why is the blacktop acting like this. You're pretty sure they stopped using real tar in these things a while ago.
>>
>>29809977

"...That's a good observation, Captain."

Claire sinks a finger down into the black mess on the ground and pulls back a finger. Strangely, a large portion of the blacktop comes back up with it. She rolls it around in her fingers for a few moments, and you watch the substance cleanly slide off her fingers and form a ball.

"This is very unusual. Unfortunately, I don't have the means to test this substance, but I imagine that Shining Void might. Perhaps we should discuss this issue further with her at a later time."

Claire takes out a tissues and folds the tarry substance into it.

"I shall hold on to this until you are ready to have it examined. For now, I think this is all we can do here."

You agree and head home. You feel exhausted, physically and mentally, so you turn in early. You have five days until Fitness Day--quite a long time to go with no real leads. But you suppose no news is good news at this point, and push any concerns out of your mind. You'd rather not preoccupy yourself with troublesome thoughts.

[END OF DAY 1. Day 2 will begin next thread. We're a little short today, but we had a lot of introductions to cover. Next thread will be longer, and will be up in the next few days. Check the twitter for a pastebin regarding quest info you've learned and other neat facts.]
