You have to admit, today was looking up. You learned a lot of useful things, you met another magical girl, you even managed to get your first kiss. And while your body is hypersensitive, you haven't been feeling much better than this.

That is, until your father came home from work.

He standing over you and Carrie, who has peeled away from you and is timidly hiding as his eyes bore into yours, like tiny infernos.

"What the hell's goin' on here, son?" he asks, on the verge of rage.

You ain't gonna take shit from him, right? I mean, you've faced worse!

This has to happen sooner or later. We can run, but that merely delays the inevitable, and gives him time to get even madder. We shouldn't stay gone all that long, just long enough to not have this conversation while naked and semi-compromised.

"B-booster Bat!" you cry. Your father looks confused at the sudden change, but you pick up Carrie bodily and fly out the open front door, hovering in the air. The wings on your sweater hold you up as you launch off.

Actually, one thing I have seen is a post where you say voting/rolling/etc is cut off. Then you take a look between the polling post and the cut-off post and create the next actual post. Whether it is worth that effort to you is a different matter, as it can be acknowledged that one vote didn't quite make the cutoff.
Though, if you're choosing to tie-break, explicitly saying so wouldn't hurt either.
>>

You land gingerly in Carrie's backyard, setting her down.
"I didn't know you could fly."

"I didn't know I could carry people."

She slips closer, kissing your cheek. Ah... The sensitivity is gone.

You kiss her cheek back.

"You should probably talk to your father." she says quietly. "I wouldn't mind if you stayed, but..."

"Okay, yeah. And Dad doesn't know about the change. Your Mom does, but we weren't able to contact your dad, nor was she."

"Yeah. And uh, Carrie came over."

Thomas nods.

"She brought strawberries."

He nods again.

"And. Uhm. We sorta. We sorta confessed to one another."

He takes a deep breath, then holds up a finger, deliberating, and standing up. He walks into Carrie's room.

There's a long discussion, and he returns.

"Alright." he says, sitting down. "Two things. One, you cheat on her or break her heart, I will break you. In half. Magically." he says. "Two, you don't forget our pledge."

Ah. That.
"Right."

If one of us finds a girl, the other one has to help the other.
"No rush." he says with a smile, slapping you on the back. "Congratulations. But I'm serious. You hurt her, and I hurt you."

You smile, nodding as you stand up.
"And for the love of god, don't let me catch you making out!" he calls after you as you head into the kitchen.

You head upstairs, and untransform. You rub your belly and sigh happily - the temp change was limited this time. Throwing on a short blue dress, you head back down.

You and Carrie make some decent spaghetti, with meaty sauce. As you eat, you go over the documents, and while she gets very quiet, she nods in understanding.

"I guess Adri would be happy with that." she says softly. "The funeral is this weekend." she adds, meeting your eyes. Yeah, you're going.

"Now, mind, I never said where /I/ would sleep. And Tom has nothing against cuddles." she goes on, handing you pajamas.

You have earned a Shadow Token.

You turn in the sleeping bag to face her, bright eyes and a wide smile on her face. Your eyebrows touch, then you close your eyes and kiss her lips softly, pulling her close and feeling her warmth. So soft, so gentle, she grips you tightly, needily, as you break the kiss.

She's smiling at you, stroking your hair.
"Thanks for everything, Carrie." you murmur softly, and she gently kisses your neck, making you gasp in surprise.

You've earned another shadow token.

You giggle, slipping closer and kissing her jawline as you slowly unbutton her shirt. As her skin is revealed, you kiss at her collar, then her chest, above her breasts, sliding the top off entirely.

Red lace, your fingers sliding along the edges. you smile as you undo her bottoms, pushing them off with ease. Stepping back, you admire her - smooth and slender, with soft, small, handfilling breasts, hips smaller than yours and Thomas's, but still nicely wide.

You slip close again, kissing her lips as you slide the bra off, pulling it out between you. She kisses back, tongue touching your lips, and you let it in as you slide of her panties, eyes closing.

Thomas knocks on the door.

She fidgets as you wash your hair, humming to yourself as you wink at her.

She smiles back, but has trouble moving forward. Even so, having her watch you... It feels thrilling, amazing, her eyes on your body, wanting it, almost needing it - like you have power over her. You hand her the soap and the shampoo, and she works quickly, nervous and anxious. She doesn't give you a show, working quickly. Apparently she's not as brave about her body as you are.

You rinse off, then both put on towels as you leave the bath, running right into Thomas, whose arms are crossed.

Alrighty. So not all cores be alike, you get it? Some are stronger, some are weaker, and some, some are SPECIAL.

How so?

Some demons grow so old as to develop special traits. When they are destroyed, their core allows those traits to carry to the Girl who slayed them, or uses the Core.

Okay. Any catch?

Only the special ability is transferred. Or something very like it.

Hm.

CHOOSE ONE:

>Fire Spells: When firing off spells based entirely off of category, you may use Fire as your element instead of Speed. You can also cast Fire spells you learn through this ability.

Humility, when you say "may choose to" does that mean it's fully up to our discretion, or would it affect us sometimes even without choosing to use fire?
>>

Fury spells are our weakest. I'd rather go something that at least boosts the spells we have or gives us new ones.

>Fire and the Flames!: When you Burst, you may choose to use Fire as the spells element instead of Speed. If you do so, add 12 to the result immediately, as if you had bursted twice more. Do not take additional darkness.

Fire Spells isn't that different, stuff that doesn't work well with Fire won't work well if we take Fire Spells instead.

We're going to be bursting a lot, they're pretty similar, but Fire and the Flames adds 12. And it's an optional thing.

>How does swapping a spells element from speed to fire change it?
Ah. I should probably explain this more thouroughly!

A Spell is made with a combination of Element, Intent, and Category. So a Pure 'Attack' with Speed is a sphere that impels body parts to move rapidly away from the body, for example, but a Pure 'Attack' with Fire would be, well, a Fireball.

Does that make more sense? FatF basically allows you to change a spell, midcast, into a different spell, but only when you burst, for higher output.
>>
>>29121739
Let's go with enchanted weapon, then.
>>
Humility probably should put it to a numbered vote!
>>
>>29121888
Only when we burst, or every time we burst?
>>
>>29121859
We have 1 fury spell right now that has a DC of 20. if we take this, we (I presume) get fury to 4 and it's got a legitimate shot of working, and it's plenty powerful to boot.

Focusing on support should not mean we put DPS on the back burner all the time. We can't expect everyone else to do damage for us.

>>
>>29121888

>>
>>29121913
Our Pure spell is more powerful then anything Fury AND with FatF we would be upping its power considerable.
>>
Fire Spells is literally the same thing as Fire and Flames except it works without Bursts.

I'm going with Enchanted Weapon
>>
>>29121913
Or we stick with Pure, and do Fire&Flames Bursted Attacks and get DPS that way.

Fury is for other people.

>>29121914
>>29121919
WE CAN CHOOSE! And normal Fire Spells would also be burny.

Look, in most spell rolls of either Pure or Heart we will get a Burst, in which case we can choose to go fire and get +12.

Fire Spells doesn't even add the +12.
>>
>>29121933
You do realize that Pure is not nearly as good as either Fury or Heart for offense and defense right?
>>
>>29121650
>Fire and the Flames!: When you Burst, you may choose to use Fire as the spells element instead of Speed. If you do so, add 12 to the result immediately, as if you had bursted twice more. Do not take additional darkness.

Darkness gives us an edge in fights, if we don't overuse it. Prolonged fights will lead us to burst a lot more, and lead to changes; to prevent that, we'd need to use Darkness tokens. To ensure the minimal number of darkness tokens are used, effects that maximise the use of our tokens are good; similar to how we're getting effects that maximise the effects of our bursts so we don't need so many to win.

It feels so good to be seen, so wonderful to be admired! You stumble to a stop in front of Carrie's place, opening the door to her, grinninf wide and panting.

She blinks at you, then stammers something, her eyes downcast as she looks past you, her face flushing as she mumbles about being busy.

And shuts the door in your face, the Flare dying down as you turn to face at least five people watching you.

You feel very small.

END OF THREAD 8.

Oh my that didn't quite end favourable for us. At least we're not actually on fire, though!
>>
>>29123053
Well, crap.

>>29123054
Why thank you. In order to use it as I described reliably, we'll probably want an extra level or two in heart.

I've got this feeling we've crossed a certain line we won't be able to really go back from now.

Oh well.
>>
>>29123053
Just gotta maintain confidence.

Also, this is why playing with fire was a retarded idea.
>>
>>29123053
Well this just turned into the streaking minigame from Saints Row 2. GOOD THING THERE AREN'T ANY CONSEQUENCES JUST LIKE THE GAME RIGHT?

also how much of a secret is magic supposed to be? The fastest way to getting clothes is to transform again and I'm wondering how much more damage that would cause.
>>
>>29123138
Like it wasn't inevitable.
>>
>>29123053
"There was a terrible accident involving all my clothes and fire and I can't stop grinning! Can I come in?!"
>>
>>29123153
Eh, we can walk around the house so we're out of sight and then activate our magic clothes.

I mean lets face it, they already saw everything.

Any idea when the next thread might be my good man?
>>
>>29123187
You've been waiting for us to go to the level of streaking for a while now, haven't you?
>>
We should just brush it off as a dare and strut the fuck out of there.
>>
>>29123227
Yes, for some time.

I honestly wasn't expecting you to give me such a clear chance.

>I mean lets face it, they already saw everything.

Indeed, but I feel like everyone has been reacting pretty casually to magic happenings. For instance Dad's first reaction wasn't "naked stranger what are you doing in my house" it was "son you got some explaining to do".
>>
>>29123254
We don't break promises from our bro.
If he says not to cheat on Carrie, then we're sure as fuck not to do it. Not after all that cheesy singing we did while flying.
>>
>>29123272
No one ever said commitment was easy.
>>
>>29123263
Those who are emotionally close to you will know you for who you are automatically.

>>29123263
Mostly because most stuff has been so outlandish - very little has sat on the edge of believability and magic.

There's also another reason, but it has to do with Magi.
>>
>>29123326
So, like, the Magi have messed with our family/aura/some such bullshit to make it so no one close to us questions our suddenly being a girl, but it's still weird for us to suddenly be macking on girls and streaking? That kind of thing?
>>
>>29123370
It might actually affect that too. Like, some sort of suggestion power to keep too much heat or scrutiny off of us, but not enough to keep people from still thinking it's weird.
>>
>>29122794
You didn't give us a chance to burn one of our numerous shadow tokens on reducing our darkness.

Unless we can't use shadow tokens to reduce our darkness to zero?

I get the feeling you enjoy cliffhangers, HUMILITY.

Thanks for the thread!
>>
>>29123053
I'm certain that there's got to be a "Are you /sure/ that wasn't drugs?" coming to us after spazzing after eating the core, running out, then returning buck naked.
>>
>>29123714
I think we're a lot less sure than we were before we lit ourselves on fire.

Also, what exactly were people thinking to get out of this?
>>
>>29123692
What cliffhanger? We mildly fucked up our relationship with Carrie and its time to head home. There's no Seneca of tension remaining in the scene. It's over. Time. To move on to the next thing.
>>
>>29124180
So was the problem that other people saw us naked?

Or more that other people saw our naked self knocking on -her- door?
>>
>>29124210
y not both
