Last time in Hivemind mutant quest we managed to finish of the bandit problem with some well placed dirty bombs to act as lures for literal tides of ghouls. So bandits are wiped out for who knows how long. Even better the ghouls have taken to preying on the monster pop and vice versa. Bad news is our mobile factory got blown up when we tried to create the new bombardier behemoth class vehicle(Markus is currently weeping in the corner being comforted by his wife is who now currently available). Even worse both our scavenging teams AND scouting teams got wiped out to the man by the ghouls. Apparently they aren't nearly as friendly as we had thought even to us mutants. In that regard however Warlord Duel Fist has something to say.

"Ghouls with two brain cells to rub together still don't go after other mutants/zombies unless their starving or defending themselves. Problem is most ghouls from deep marsh have been starving for a long time thanks to how hostile it is over there for even them. Meaning a ghoul with two brain cells still is a rarity. Instead as long as their hungry their willing to go after even us. However a ghoul will NEVER go after another ghoul unless its to defend themselves and even then they wont eat them for some reason. Also ghouls are costly to maintain do to the whole having to feed them regularly enough to hold of degeneration this is especially true for the stronger types of ghoul as well. On the plus side though their clever, vicious, and nasty fucks even if they don't got any brains left still. Got to say its fun to see what you can do with them depending on brain cell limitations. Now ghouls usually organize by packs or warbands depending on brain cell count.

Mutant types:

Memor: very pale, large eyes and all number of marks/sores on throughout their body. Hair color tends to be on the paler side of things would be quite attractive if it wasn't for their skin problems. Eye color varies.
Mutations:base,Psionic Ability+, Hivemind+, toughness+

StrongArm: Twice has tall as human but slouched. Has one monstrosity of an arm while the other one is a withered husk. Its worthing noting that their basically a crude mutant tank.

Mulic: Hair is tendrils and moves depending on level of psionic presence. On their head anyway everywhere else their hairless and produces a faint sliminess. Which for some reason tastes like fried pickles. Other They do have legs but toes are tendrils. Has one arm the other is a mass of tentacles. Other then that fairly human appearance.

Biotech wise Richard decided to look into creating a mutagen in a serum and easily transportable/usable. No more having to rely upon the broodmother. At least when it came to mutant types. Unfortunately he hasn't yet figured out how to do specific mutations yet. But he is working on it.

Forgot to mention Richard is complaining about lack of samples. Mostly due to the fact that humans are near extinct. Except for the Glows Krew Raiders and most of them got borged or are ghoulish at this points. Also not exactly allowed to have mutant live samples. So he is bit grumpy.

Some ghoul hordes have returned from to swamp from the city. Apparently doesn't have enough radiation for their liking. Their are however many packs and a few warbands there. Mostly due to them having the presence of ghoul strains who extremely radioactive.

7. New strain of supervirus by Richard. One strain been deemed feasible for battle purposes. Other strain of contagion particularly deadly and left for "last resort/final solution" purposes.
8. The hivemind/overmind is capable of surviving without the presence of the Prophet of fate.
9. Radiation now heals. Don't ask how. It's mutation I ain't gotta explain.
10. Broodmother aura vicinity can make everything better, organics, machines and all.

Mid term goal (i.e. this chapter or the next few)
1.) 2nd broodmother extraction of deep swamp. Develop vehicles to support Marcus Special.

Long term goals (i.e. a very long time from now)
1.) At 100,00 population, and with research into irrigation, swamp construction, and agriculture we can begin construction of national border (via burned no-man's lands among other defenses and patrols) and swamp drainage/river logging to base to fuel bio-fuel factories and open up dry land for expansion
2.) 2nd tier of borders achievable when bandit forts taken an pop is at 400,000.
3.) Reconquest and reestablishing of mine's to fuel industry. Involves addition of roads and purchase of mining vehicles as well as possible railway system to expeidiat process.

In other news user I have picked up strange signatures coming from the Wastes and even Jungle. We have also received a message from the Dreamer Marauders warning us that something is curious about what happened in jungle and others are also wondering about the sudden ghoul scourge. Seems those dirty bombs drew some attention. Sadly user jungle growth is too much for my scanners to penetrate. However the prophet has said that the jungles are capable of reclaiming even Wasteland. Exactly how or why he doesn't know.

99 using this roll for me having disappeared for a while to do stuff due to seemingly dead thread.

Markus got the stuff he needed to repair his precious factory. So thankfully its up and running again. We also got some more resources(+10) just in case. Got quite the haul too. Still plenty of it lying around. If only with materials it was the same way. Hopefully some of the ruins will shed light on that.


Meanwhile some scouts were sent off westward to check out the west. Amazingly they managed to break into the jungle who as it turns out where the waste is nasty due to sheer emptyness and lurking horrors. The jungle is the opposite so much everywhere with horrors all around. Despite it all they made it back a bit shaken though. The western edge of the marsh on the other hand as it turns out is FULL of zombies. Even more disturbing our scouts found a zombie hive...where basic zombies are 'converted' to more advanced forms. Our scouts are still amazed that they could get so close and still make it back in one piece. When Richard heard that he stated that it sounded like zombie research really took of since his...untimely accident.

In any case our forces encountered a significant mutant and monster presence in the hellish jungles. While the western swamp is chalked full of zombies who the white researcher faction seems keenly interested in.

built one bombardier(If you thought boomtown had boom you don't know BOOM).

Scouts have found some interesting things sure including an old tunnel work criss corssing the entire swamp. Problem is its full of all manner of booby traps, critter, collapses ect. We also got everything near the base figured out. Mostly discovering old hidey holes ruins, wrecked vehicles ect.

Mutation research for basic strength increase and speed we figured out the strength and the good portion of the speed. Only problem is only the memor got it right now. Unless we spend a 1 resource per a type of mutant.

Meanwhile to broodmother has awoken and with her the Tectus mutant type has come to be. At least until some of them disappeared underground in the tunnels anyway. When they came back up however they had some strange set of armor which didn't interfere with their natural abilities if anything it was enhanced.

Tectus- a mutant type with natural chameleon abilities their skin changes colors depending on mood/environment. They have keen eyes and potent scouting ability.

Markus here got working on them weapons needed something nice sneaky and quiet. In that regard we got camo weapons also designed some silencers which should help even more. Anyway weapon wise I was working on some snipers when Torg stated EXPLOSIVE snipers. I thought he was crazy until I realized just how AWESOME that would be. In any case we got MK1 and 2 explosive rounds now sniper rifles included.

Thanks to Markus busy designing weapons we could only construct 1 bombardier and nothing else.

12 SSTs constructed(markus was in a good mood)

psionic research wise the Prophet of Fate figured out telekenisis and even how to tap into the latent psionic energies of the Memor. Which could be directed, but it can be limited depending on how the Hiveminds are feeling.

The HUNT begins. We decided to test out Tectus during a hunting free for all. We didn't lose a single one and even better figured out what they excelled at. Which was mostly sniping, scouting, and skirmishes. They worked wonders. None of them got detected to boot. All of them even managed to bag at least one living target or had some valuable info. Mostly about ghoul pack lairs and Warband routes/leaders. A few though discovered even more ruins and wrecks under the swamp water. They all seem convinced that this swamp must of been something else. Meanwhile however when they all returned home except for 1...who dropped of the Hivemind. spent a week in each part of the four section of the swamp shit the individual EVEN made fucking excursions into the deep swamp. Poking at its perimeter. Their report was by far the most interesting. As they circled around the entire swamp in a jaw dropping single month. No more then a week in each area. The acquired several samples and even live targets.

First of the bad news a zombie horde was expelled from the West Marsh heading right us. The good news is they soon found themselves ghoul dinner or ghoulish. At least most of them anyway. Some of the changed ones seemed to get through quite well. That was when the smart ghouls in the warbands moved out pinning down these mutant zombies...the ghouls now have a new food source to target. As after words we soon detected a flood of ghouls advance towards the Zombie Marsh. After that ghoul packs and war-bands made regular excursions in there as well.

That was when the two hero ghouls forged several warbands and pushed into zombie lands forging a beach head. Bordering the deeper marsh for rads and a place for deep marsh ghouls to pour out off. It worked as now ghouls regularly push of there into zombie infested turf.
