You are Ssen, a Lamia raised by a human Paladin who adopted you after killing the ones who birthed you. You are grown now, and Father has passed on. After a great deal of work, you have become a Paladin like your Father, and now take up his duties.

You are accompanied by your best friend from childhood, the insect druid Tricia; Mage, a magic user who ran away from his family of cannibal raiders known as the Ghouls (Yes, his name is Mage. It was his idea); Persephone, a 22-year old thief/ex-guerllia fighter (She goes by Peri), and Mari, a 13-year old prodigy scholar/now sniper, who has her mind and soul trapped within Peri's body; and Lea, a deeply religious musician/martial artist, trained by her father, a famous trainer for arena fighters, she's covered from her mouth down in bandages to hide the horrific state her body has become thanks to the 'cures' that saved her from cancer.

Your journey continues...

The Heart of Citadel is less than 500 feet away from where you are now. However, between it and you are Kingfisher, and his two elite servants, Teo-Has and Wakari.

The reason that Newgate Castle is empty is because Kingfisher lured all of the Workers and Paladins away. Right towards Shadow Company and the Rouge Birds. King fisher has made the assumption that you'll tell him the information he needs to find and secure the Heart for himself.

He's about to find out what happens to people who take hostages in front of the Paladin Serpent.

Biggest question:

Throw lea, or beacon dash?

Thinking about it, this entire battle is designed to fuck with us. If Citadel was "that DM" that always wanted to tell the story one way over and over again, then Kingfisher represents "that DM" with the mary sue villains with utterly unfair abilities and whose plans always work.

Analysis:
Kingfisher: due to his mimickry of spells, it is inadvisable to use Morningstar or Enlightenment. Because seriously, imagine those fired back at us. If Lea wants a piece of him, I say we give let her. It's not like he's a luchador, too, right? Right? Mage might be another good choice.
No Bones: immune to wrap spells, probably immune to poisons too. Not immune to being COVERED IN BEES, acid, or slash attacks. Tricia might be a good choice.
Probability: Fuck this guy. He's the side character killer. He makes us waste time so that Echo can get his precious feels that sustain his dark soul. He needs to be ganged up on and distracted from helping Kingfisher survive Lea's fury. Ssen and MP.

>He's about to find out what happens to people who take hostages in front of the Paladin Serpent.
They get glared at disapprovingly?
>>
Could we call Odette with the flute?

If so, she could perhaps alter Citadel, that there are intruders in the Throneroom. It's very risky however and has probably some horrible consecuences, i fail to see.
>>
>>27067616
So: toss lea at kingfisher, then attempt to charge probability man so fast you get there before lea does?
>>
>>27067482
>Rouge

This bothered me last time, too. Is it intentionally not spelled "Rogue"?
>>
>>27067634
Alternatively, we all gang up on No Bones because she's the weakest one there. Kingfisher will assume we go after him first, not No Bones.

That was my plan last night, anyway.
Whatever we do, we need this battle over as fast as possible.

Teo-Has winces and screams as you rip open multiple wounds in her body.

They bleed much less than they should.

Also, you blink in surprise as you see Teo-Has fold a wound inside her own body, fresh skin and muscle covering the tear you already tore open, and when it shifts back over, you see clean flesh. Still, it doesn't look like she can do that trick constantly, and right now, you've caused more damage than she could heal.

Her response is to draw two daggers and lash out at you with two whip arms.

Kingfisher rolls his eyes, and slips on a pair of gloves that he was keeping on his belt. He snaps his fingers, and there's a burst of light, smell of magic, ozone, and stone dust. When the light clears, some of the diamonds, and silver decorations are gone. Kingfisher's holding a ranseur with a silver shaft and a diamond prong. It's identical in shape to Beacon.

Lea does a double-strike attack at Teo-Has

You dodge expertly the flailing limbs, others might be bad at dodging whipping and bladed things, but you wrote the BOOK on this combat...alright you and Granny.

Teo-Has snarls as she twists her neck in a near circle to try and keep up with the combat. That's why Lea's punch to her face snaps her head back around the other way FAST, and when it stops, everyone winces a little when they see that Lea's punch has caused Teo-Has' left eyeball to pop out of it's socket. It's dangling down her cheek by the nerve.

Wakari draws a single short sword and attacks Peri. His fighting method is damn quick, but pretty standard.

Tricia starts to chant and her robes start to shudder. She's calling up her swarm.

Mage slams his staff into the now-stone floor.

Peri does a double strike against Wakari.

Every second means that people are going to die. Janos, Cai, Sun, Leslie, Princess...these people are between you and helping them.

You snarl and spit at Teo-Has' face. It's a perfect shot. Your poison spit goes straight into the empty socket with force.

She doesn't scream. She scrunches up her entire face so that it all but disappears and she makes an attempt to scratch at her face...but she stops mid-reach, and then falls to the floor with a thick smack sound. Her skin starts to pool out as her body starts to lose its shape.

Everyone just stares for a moment.

Kingfisher looks at you, mouth open in shock. Then he lunges at you with his ranseur. His face is calm, but you can see that there's just fury and fear in his eyes.

Lea starts to attack Wakari.

Wakari attacks Peri. Again, his style is quick, but average. There's no moves that he's doing that a regular militia grunt would know. The wasps are slowing him down.

Tricia is still chanting and focusing on her wasp swarm.

Kingfisher dodges the tail sweep and you stab with Beacon. He dodges your stab and he grabs Beacon's shaft.

You feel Beacon grow cold, and Kingfisher's ranseur starts to glow and vibrate.

He smirks at you. "Thank you."

He swipes at you with his ranseur.

Lea changes her form from lamia style to a different older style. It's a power-jab.

"Mari! Use Peri's swords!" She yells.

Wakari attacks Lea. This time his attacks are much more graceful and fluid. But the wasps and the mud make his movements rather sluggish.

Tricia continues to make her wasps sting Wakari.

Mage blasts a firebolt at Wakari.

Mari's sword slice at Wakari is a little clumsy, but it does seem that the man is a bit more flustered at his attempt to dodge it than before.

Also Beacon's charges are at zero.

You stay chomped on.

Kingfisher looks at you, and then at his weapon that's just a few feet away.

He rips his arm out of your jaws, and I mean that as literally as possible. He wrenches his arm free, leaving you with a chunk of him left in your mouth, and blood gushing down his wounded arm, but he's free and grabs his weapon with his other, still working, arm. (He took two wounds to be free automatically)

Lea switches her form again. This one is a pressure point centered style.

Wakari attacks Lea, his form is getting more and more fluid and accurate, but he's still slightly hindered by the mud and wasps, but he's actually adjusting.

Tricia continues to focus on her wasps.

Mage shoots an ice spear at Wakari.

Mari does another clumsy swipe/stab of the blade. Again, Wakari is unable to figure it out.

Kingfisher can't pull free.

Lea screams as Wakari's blade hits her in the side. The wound gushes black blood, and Lea staggers back, both hands over the wound, in a LOT of pain.

Mari's bolt hits him, and Tricia's swarm seems to be crawling inside his ears and nose at this point.

Blood is freely dripping out of Wakari's mouth and his legs are shaking. It looks like he's only still upright by sheer will alone.

He does manage to pull his arm free now, but it's limp and turning blue rapidly. You must have cracked the femur, and a bunch of smaller bones are broken. His hand is a mangled mess.

He looks at his broken arm, and his torn up other arm. Then at Wakari who is dying. The pool of matter that was Teo-Has, and then at your eyes.

>>27072424
No long-winded speeches while Shadow Company is dying.
>>
Oy guys
I say we burn the other half of the brillitite core in the heart to make sure the shutting down of the wall costs no souls.
>>
>>27072424
He only hadtwo flunkies and they're both dead.
>>
>>27072502
Pretty sure it's only changes outside of Citadel that costs souls, but that's an excellent idea if it turns out I'm wrong.
>>
>>27072457
You're right. I'd like to save him, but he's not worth it.
>>27072126
"The Shadow Company has children too. They deserved better." End it quickly.
>>
>>27072362
You look at him on the ground as you grab his copy of Beacon. You open your mouth for a moment, and then close it. Shadow Company is dying at this very moment.

Also, Kingfisher never listened to anything you had to say.

One stab with Beacon to his neck would do it. Or you can have one of the others to do it. Or just leave him to bleed out by way of the wound on his arm, and the fact that marrow from his broken arm has most likely mixed into his blood.

"We have to go." Tricia says, as her swarm returns to her.
>>
>>27072676
stab. leave no chances.
>>
>>27072676
"I hope you find the Light's forgiveness. Reincarnate well."
Then end it.
>>
>>27072676

>>
"Death by snake means reincarnation, right?"
And kill him some snake way.
>>
>>27072676
inject him with the clear, say a prayer as he dies and walk away like a bad ass
>>
>>27072741
second, finish constrict.
>>
>>27072676
Quick and clean. "May the Light shine its forgiveness on you. Rest well."
>>
>>27072727
We..we don't really have a venom that does that. We've got Black which paralyzes. Clear which melts and cooks flesh and White which melts bones.

Lamia venom is a hell of a thing. Anyway, lets just go for the stabbing. Make this quick.
>>
>>27072712
Seconded.
>>
>>27072770
Black stops heart in high enough doses
>>
>>27072676
"Sorry. I wish things had turned out different."

Stab
>>
>>27072746
That takes more time than stabbing and death by Clear is a horrible slow death. Also, he might have anti-venom.

>>
>>27072613
>>27072676
I think this sums things up nicely.
>>
>>27073037
That is so completely and utterly obvious at this point that I think saying it would be insulting to the other Dawnchasers; like we don't trust them not to murder souls for their own ends.
>>
>>27073292
Perhaps you're right.
>>
>>27073317
>>27073292
we SHOULD tell mage to get the brillitite out, though. And ask if everyone's okay.
>>
>>27072761
"May His Light shine its forgiveness on you. Rest well, and let the Phoenix reincarnate you well." You say as you bite him in the throat and inject him with Black. Twice.

His body goes still and his head rolls to the side and his eyes close.

You then stab him in the throat, and twist.

"To make sure." You say.

"Come on!" Tricia says as she pulls the tapestry aside, showing the hallway to the Fount.

"Give me his weapon. It still has that charge, yes?" Mage says.

The heart is hovering in the air, above the center of the fount.

It's hard to look at, it isn't round, but it hurts your head if you try and figure out exactly what kind of shape it is. It's a small thing that's about as big as a head of lettuce. You're a little upset that it's not red. It is pulsing though, so there is that.

When you look at it with your magic-vision eyes, it's like looking directly into the sun. You see spots when you look away from it and you can even see it's glow when you close your eyes.

Mage can't look directly at it. "Give me Beacon." He says. You hand him your weapon. Mage holds it up to Kingfisher's copy. There's a flare of Not-Purple Light and the copy crumbles to dust in his hand, and Beacon is now humming and fully charged and then some.

The others, while Mage does that, take out the Lantern mirrors, and prop them up in a circle around the fount.

"I would say words, but we have no time." Lea says.

You all enter into the water, it's cool but not cold. There's no sound but the slight sloshing of water as the Dawnchasers get into position.

"How long has it been?" Tricia asks.

"Can't have been more than half an hour, maybe less." Mari says.

"No time to get ready for this then." Peri says as she nods at you. "Do it Ssen."

The death toll of Shadow Company was bad. Over half of the entire company has been killed.

But they did their duty, and did it well. When the Workers and Paladins stopped, there were no civilian deaths.

There was one death however, that was known to the Dawnchasers.

Janos is dead. His soul is right there. So is his body. It would take very little effort to reunite them. Heal the body.

You are reminded by the others that it would use up power to do so. Not much.

But...you can feel Janos' lingering rage and anger from his last moments. He wants to not be dead. He died before you stopped the Workers. He wants to keep fighting, to die again so others don't.

You are reminded by others that Janos believed in no God. You are advised to honor his decision.

This is Citadel's last gasps, its last throes of self-preservation, anything to keep going, keep working.

All of you fucking HATE this City. You won't give it the satisfaction.

Janos passes on.

The Workers begin the duties of restoring the City, the people are carefully placed back into the real world, and the dome is taken apart slowly.

Citadel isn't going without a fight though.

Most of the scenarios and temptations it throws at you are easily delected, or if they're slightly tempting...then you feel them pushed aside by the others.

But there's always a few that slip through the net.

The Freed.

It would take some energy to put them in new bodies...but...but you could preserve them. Keept hem in the bodies that they have, let them enjoy the lives that they earned, even solve that eye-rage problem. There are less that 40 of them. That's all the energy it would take.

What are 40 souls? You can take them from those of the first age. They have no sense of self, no mentality, no thoughts, the closest thing they're like is mealworms.
>>
>>27074073
God dammit not Janos.
>>

You push it aside.

Odette and the Freed pass on.

There's the Phoenix Colony, more specifically there's Sun's daughter. The reason Sun killed his wife and mother-in-law was because they cut out his daughter's tongue.

He's sworn to the great Phoenix that he will hear her sing again. He turned on Kingfisher when he realized that he had no designs on fixing her when he achieved...this.

But he has hope. He knows of ghoul magic now, and plans to go back and bring his daughter up here, and have Mage fix her.

It's not going to work. Sun's Daughter is one of those rare people who have inborn resistance to magic. Flesh shaping magic will not work, and before an alternative can be found, she will kill herself. Thinking that it's her fault that it went wrong.

Sun will die, from age hastened by grief, soon after. His soul will go to the void, because he swore an oath to the Phoenix and broke it, which is a sin. Even if the Phoenix would not damn him, he will damn himself.

But you can fix it. All it will take is 10 souls, and she'll sing again.

Also she'll be instrumental on getting the Phoenix Colony freedom, and helping establishing leadership that will create a long, strong, excellent trade alliance with the UFK.

10 souls. You can pick which ones. The mealworms, or go looking for the rapists, the abusers, the criminals...the ones who took life and made it ugly.

We know to look out for her, and we can let Sandover take a crack at fixing her tongue if magic doesn't do the trick.

>>27074590
Citadel is not lying to you. Also, true, it doesn't know the future perfectly, what you are seeing are the most likely scenarios of what is going to happen.

But...uhhh...what made you think that what you did was reversible?

That you'd be able to go out and walk among people again?

Sun was planning on asking Mage, but Sophie and the others have studied his notes on Fleshcrafting. So it would be her who fails the spell.

But who said that Citadel would ever let you go? Especially after what you're about to do to it?

You could MAKE it let you go.

But that would take power.

Not a lot. Barely any at all. Plus, you can keep the knowledge of Sun's daughter, and a few other things (There's a couple who need to not have sex on a certain day or else Ssai's greatgreat grandaughter will be...a possible cure, or at least a thing that will slow down Granny's mental degradation, and plenty of other things.)

All it will take is one soul.

Whomever you want.

You can even use Peace's soul for it.

One soul...or Citadel takes you all with it.

I mean seriously guys. Stop it.

Citadel isn't alive, it's an unnatural, WHOLLY EVIL construct, and we need to MAKE IT GONE. What else are we going to do with it, stay here and ARM WRESTLE IT? We need it DEAD. Throwing that bitch out of timespace is the easiest way.

Your idea to use Citadel's own soul to free yourselves from it, along with all the knowledge that it tried to bargain with, is met with pleasure and approval from all.

The City is returned. Sunlight is shining through. People are standing in the streets. You see the Alliance army approaching them, ready to help, rebuild, and to get what they can get from the great ruined city.

The City is not habitable any more. That is clear. It's a giant ruin. Building are crumbling, garbage and corpses fill areas, the magic is returning to the land, and the wasteland will soon grow things again in a season or five...but the city? No. The City is no more.

Now it is just the world's biggest ruin.

"Please." Citadel says. "Please...they're all gone now...it's empty, I'm empty. But please...I just want to live!"

Do this and you'll come back. Citadel will stay in ruins, and return to dust. Something else will be built upon it, a different city...or cities. But of Citadel there will be no trace.

If you spare it, the city will lay in ruins for a while, but it will be rebuilt. Not as grand as it was, never as grand as it was. But still mighty, and this time there will be no souls involved in any of it.

It will not let you go though. It has more than enough spite for that.
>>
>>27075134
Nah, just throw that bitch into the void. Like we care what happens to us if it's dead.
>>
>>27075134
I have no true problem with letting citadel live as long as it's not using souls. In fact, if I recall, my original plan was to turn citadel into a non-soul having protector spirit.

The new guy will be unhappy, but I vote spare it. We'll tell the order to check in every so often to make sure.
>>
>>27075134

Having it here in a neutral, non-soul, non-mind control state may be preferable.

Echo. Stop. This is exactly like a Lightbringer story and we don't want to do it.
In fact, if we do sacrifice ourselves, who is to say that Citadel won't just keep trucking on now that it's little story has been read to it?

My vote is pray. Pray to the Light. Pray to our Father. Pray to Dawn. Hell, pray to the Old One. I'm sure he'd tell us to kick Citadel in the balls and break out.
>>
>>27075134
Even if it does let us go, it's possible that someone will someday free us. Destroying a soul, any soul, sounds like a really bad idea to me.

Besides, the absence of new Citadel might cost lives. There are going to be a lot of refuges. And even if we're trapped it's quite possible that someday someone will free us.
>>
>>27075185
>We'll tell the order to check in every so often to make sure.

>>
>>27075279
And building on that, we actually want to send it back to Dusk. So that's what we're doing, sending it to Dusk. If Citadel wants to help people, it can there.
>>

How do we do that?

>>27075301

>if we do anything, it will trap us
>>

>>
>>27075346
Thats........actually not a bad idea. Convince it that it won't be lonely if it listens to us for a few minutes and explain that there is a place with other gods, and human souls that it can help, listen to, and help them on their journey

>>27075329
So, at this point, the only thing that can free you is the expenditure of a soul. Citadel won't free you by itself, but the truth is at this weakened point...it can't.

It can't really offer you anything at this point. And intact or not, the land will move on, and eventually be resettled again.

The soul of Citadel is just begging for its continued existence.

Yeah, and without being nasty to them or feeding on them, which has the benefit of not having paladins on your ass.

"I understand that you don't want to die. Nobody does. But you have to accept that you don't belong here. I... don't like you... but I know your only desire is to make other people happy. There are many gods, with many different opinions of how to make people happy and I'm trying to convince them the best way is not to meddle directly. You can understand why, meddling just creates people like me.
Maybe you can tell them how you think people are best served. You know what makes sentients happy. They don't. They know order and justice and fear and entrophy. But they don't know happiness. >>

yeah, can we just hug the thing?
Maybe take some time to decide this last bit? In character time?

I guess that brillitite isn't worth a single soul of power.

"Don't fuck with the Dawnchasers, for one." Citadel says.

You can't help it, you hug it.

"Okay." A familiar voice says. "I can take it from here."

You're in the Blank Space...and there's Dusk. He gently takes Citadel by the hand. "Not quite what I had in mind, but this is actually better." He pats Citadel on the shoulder. "I could use someone who knows the difference between a hammer and a mallet.

No. If an eternity of torment in Old One's horde is a fate that not even Tragedy and Comedy deserve, then the actual destruction of the soul is a fate not even Peace/Soma deserves.

Destroying souls is anathema to our faith in the Light, an absolutely unforgivable sin worse than murder, and something that no paladin should ever ever do regardless of the soul in question.

"You'll see." Dusk says. "Don't wanna spoil the surprise more than I already did. But man oh MAN did we piss them OFF. Your problems too. Did you know that the Phoenix actually put...well...never mind...alright. The kid and I have work to do."

Citadel waves farewell.

You're Ssen again.

You're also being held by two strong arms, and your neck is scratched by a stubbly chin as you're being hugged. A smell of leather and stew. "The hard part is the period of time between your first breath and the last. Everything within it...that's just the stuff that makes it hard. Any piece alone of a person's life is easy. Life is hard." He chuckles and ruffles your hair. "Of course, I could be talking out of my weathered ass. When people start on speeches like that, they usually are. I am so proud of you."

He's gone.

"As am I." Two warm arms and a tail wrap around you. They feel so different now that they're warm, and that the eyes are the proper green. She flicks her tongue across your cheek and gives you another squeeze. "I am at peace."

She's gone.

You wake up coughing up a mouthful of water and soaked, head to tail.

The others are slowly dragging themselves out of the pool, coughing up filthy old water, and drenched.

"Ugh..." Tricia groans as she looks at the tarnished and ruined lantern mirrors. "Did we win?"

/BARRELS OF EGGS!/ You moan. /Alright...alright, I'm fine and we can hear you. Also, write this down before I forget it. Remind us to talk to Sun about his daughter and Nakai. And something about Gregory, and a couple who I'm supposed to cockblock./

/Uhhh...okay. I'm glad you're not dead./

/Heh, I should be so lucky for that kind of peace and quiet. How bad is it over in Shadow Company?/ You ask.

/Uhh, is that the militia? If so it's bad. Over half of the group is dead. Their leader's gone too. Also they're...less than happy to see Fey Court. Anyway...YOU DID IT!/

/Ah! Volume!/

I thought I'd feel sad, but I'm actually relieved. It's been a great ride, Echo. Even if I hated you and your schemes at times, you're the best GM I can possibly think of. It's truly been a privilege.

Lightmare is at the base of the steps, chewing, a squirrel tail sticking out of his mouth.

/Never mind./

/Alright, wait. How long has it been for you?/ She asks.

/Don't know. Time is weird./ You say. /When did we go in?/

/Six months ago. The dome just came down about a month ago. I've been trying to reach you, but I just kept getting the mumbled signal that happens when you hit a sleeping mind./ She says.

/Anyway, come down south and reach us. We'll have a cheer and then get back to work./ She signs off.

"Ugh. So much for the day off." Tricia says. "Wait...uhh...how did I kno-"

"Same reason why I could hear the moths in this place talking and heard part of it too." Mage says. "And since I can't any more, I think it'll wear off...I hope."

"Yeah." Lea says. She shudders. "That was...was something."

"Lea, I think you just made the understatement oft the... unit of time I can't even think about." You say. "At least they were friendly moths. Any other amusing side effects of our brief apotheosis?"

"We're not the only ones who have a craving for honey, are we?" Meri/Pari say.

Everyone else raises their hands, even you.

"SO?!" Tricia says.

"So, it's been six months and the world hasn't collapsed without us. Good enough excuse to take a vac-"

"WHAT. HAVE. YOU. DONE?!" A voice that sounds like six voices at once. You all turn to look up the stairs.

Kingfisher's body is walking towards you. Soma, in perfect condition, is in one hand. One arm is covered in ice, another is covered in what looks like living shadows, there's the image of firey feathers sticking out from beneath his neck like a plume. A mask is on his face, half of it is shiny silver, and the other half is a shifting pattern. The eyes are human though, and enraged.

Peace, The Ice God, The Fifth, The Phoenix Manifest, The Dragon Who Was Of Shadow, and Kingfisher...all in one.

"SEVEN. AGES...SEVEN AGES! YOU EVEN STOLE OUR CHILD! HE WAS OURS TO DO WITH AS WE SAW FIT!" They shriek as they walk towards you.

You hear cracking and rumbling from the buildings directly behind you. It's the same sound Citadel made when there was need for Workers to form and then attack.

"YOU TOOK IT ALL...AND THEN...THEN YOU DID THIS WITH IT?! NOTHING! IT IS NOT ENOUGH THAT YOU ROB US, TAKE FROM US OUR POWER, BUT THEN SMASH IT TO PIECES!? WHAT KIND OF MONSTER ARE YOU?"

It would most definitely be an epilogue
>>
>>27077207
Looks like the final fight is just beginning. Which is unfortunate because I really need to sleep now if I don't want to be a zombie for my Changeling game in the morning.

Something I wasn't for in a previous thread bothers me, Echo: please give everyone a proper canon epilogue. You mentioned having people claim characters they wanted do do things with and refraining from giving them an epilogue so they could take over, but I really want to see a proper epilogue with conclusions for all the important characters from the only writer who can write your characters as themselves.

That's my 2 cents on that. And in case this is my last chance to say so, thank you for the excellent quest and the many hours of entertainment it has provided! Night all!
>>
>>27077479

You are forgetting about what Dusk said...
>>
"I'm a laima, one who is taking a vacation. We gave Citadel an out and Citadel took it. He's Seven Thousand Years Old, it's high time he left the nest. Speaking of which CHEESE IT!" You shout.

You make a lunge for wagon, only to freeze when a giant wall of masonry smashes into your path, blocking your way.

"WE may BE trapped HERE. our POWERS may BE draining TO THAT fool DUSK...minless CHATTER OF DUTY...OR our ungrateful CHILD...TEACH HIM A LESSON...{his true purpose all along}...BUT WE HAVE...MORE THAN enough STRENGTH...HERE..AND NOW...TO DISPOSE of YOU! All good stories have the paladin facing down a great beast! YOU WANTED TO FACE CITADEL? Here it is!"

It looms in front of you, skin of brick, wood, and bone, eyes of stained glass windows, claws of iron made from countless weapons, and the anvils they were made of. It opens its maw of plaster, and jagged wood and belches out a gout of smoke and flame from a thousand fireplaces and forges that are within its belly.

Tar and wet daub and plaster drip from its mouth as it looks at you.

"So...ANY SpeechES left to SAY?" The God-Thing says. "This time I PROMISE {to listen to the WHOLE THING.}"

Seriously? You're doing this? Can none of you take a fucking HINT?

Your child, huh? To do with as you see fit? Light preserve us, none of you know what it is to have a child. Citadel wasn't a child for you, just a tool for you to use. Citadel didn't have parents, just a group of self-centered egomaniacs telling it what to do while it tried to make the best of a shit situation. Was it too much to ask for ANY of you to ACT like a parent? Do you even know how to DO that? Citadel made it's own choice, not me. If you're unhappy with that then go find Citadel and yell at it for being stupid, Light knows you've all probably done that before. How come I get the feeling that I showed more affection for Citadel in a few moments than any of YOU in seven ages? What gives you the right?

None of you could even be bothered to get off your asses and do your fucking jobs. You're all deadbeat gods angry that you can't masturbate to your own self-absorption anymore. Maybe if you did with your lives other than tell mortals how great you are you'd feel better about yourselves.

Go ahead and throw your damned tantrum, you CHILD.
