A forewarning: I do not follow the meta-setting of SCP, outlined in the wiki's story entries. Also, some SCP numbers will be changed, removed, etc, to keep things fresh. Expect the unexpected.

You blink. The last thing you remember is something about Happy.

SNAP.

Someone is snapping their fingers in your face.

"You don't have to do that." a voice nearby says - Kelly. "He'll wake up on his own."

"No, this will get him up faster." Gerald says.

"Gerald, it's rude."

You snap your fingers languidly beside his, eyes opening. Gerald grins - and you look at your normal human hand, blinking.

"Whuh... What?"

Gerald sighs.
"SCP - 90. Deep Dream Doctor." he says, handing you a sandwhich, which you start to eat. "Ran into its radius during a breach. Normally it's inhibited thanks to the shielded, powered paneling. It makes you dream subtly of your great fears, like loss of control. You were out for... A day and a half." he says, shrugging. His arm is still missing.

"Nothing important. New factions showed up, however."

You raise an eyebrow.

"More black markets, mainly. Me and Kelly went out and scoped one. Triad-based." he grumbles. "Motherfuckers are hard to kill, I tell you what. And harder to find." he says, shrugging. "We lost nothing but an eyepod for a few hours and " he mumbles something.

"...And?"

"And nothing."

You eat, then pick up your weapon - the simple 'sword'. You haven't given it a name, yet, but you hitch it to your belt. Food here isn't that bad, if you don't mind simple meals.

You take a club sandwich, she takes some potato soup.

"So what did you dream about?" she asks. It's only now you notice - in the dream, she was more attractive. Not enormously so - mostly it's in how she carries herself and dressed. It's somewhat disconcerting for a moment.

You think for a moment.

Not sure so I wrote my own ending for today:

"We flew out to Australia to recapture SCP-682. It attacked our helicopter and when I shot it my arm got replaced with its skin."

she seems to take note of what you said.

The conversation is minimal after you describe your dream, you both finish your meals (such as they are) quickly and you set off to the training room to work on your sword-fu

AND THEN 682 BURSTS THROUGH THE WALL!!! It looks like he's about to charge at you and attack, but he looks past and spies the table you just ate at. His lizard face assumes a new expression and he blows past you even as you draw your sword. Someone in the room starts screaming as the lizard straight up kool-aid mans through the door into the dining area and you step to the side to see what it is he's so fixated on.

You only see a table at first, until it strikes you. Its the most attractive table you've ever seen. Confident, poised, queen of the cafeteria. A bit of shine and shimmer from the well polished legs catches your eye, fascinates you momentarily. The harsh plastic seating shaped into the most bare mimicry of a human backside, covered only by the thinnest of cloth. The thick glass plating that made up the table part, just smokey enough that you can't see all the way through, hinting at the erotic delights underneath. 682 abruptly impedes your vision. You only now notice that you've dropped your sword so that you can take hold of your 'sword'

"I saw my world fall apart." you say, then explain. She watches, intently, then sighs. "Not what you expected?"

"I don't know what to expect, given you." she says, leaning back. "The last day has been kind of bizarre. Gerald was quiet. Contemplative."

"That is bizarre."

"Well... Some people in the DDD don't... wake up. We have some people who have been under for many years. The Overseer who was looking over the place when the incident occurred was not seen favourably for possibly losing a great Agent."

You wince. Of course he wasn't...

You finish the meal and train with the weapon. It's actually difficult to use right - there's literally no weight to it, so you need to be careful not to accidentally cut targets you are not aiming for. It only cuts when you want, but you have to concentrate if you want to cut something specific, you find. So accidents still happen.

"So. How we getting to Istanbul?" she asks. "We can fly civvie or company."

Ammo enough likely to last you the whole trip. Some simple gadgetry - a Foundation-provided smartphone with all sorts of helpful apps and some more specific ones.

Gerald approaches and hands off a few religious items - a cross, some holy water, some spices ("Eat with these if you are going to be facing undead. Makes you UNtasty.") and he grins at you.

Maybe I should specify two beds, one room?" she says, "And near the ground floor, if possible, for quick escape in case we need to move quickly. Internet is helpful but not essential..." she says, thinking. "And a hotel room is easier to secure than a motel room." she adds. "So I think, one hotel room with two beds on or near the ground floor." she says, with finality. "Good?"

You think for a moment. She's mostly correct. However, there are other concerns with staying at a hotel - civvies are in mroe danger if you're targeted, for instance - and she's right, it will be awkward.

"Oh, but-"

"Kelly." you interject, and she looks up. "An Agent must be confident, and decisive. If you falter in the field, you will die. There is very little middle ground. Gerald's arm is a sign of that."

She nods. "Regardless, this is a fine decision. Phone the hotel before we leave. I will prepare our luggage to pass through customs." I say. There's a specific way to get things through borders, onto planes, and so on, and every Agent learns them. Kelly has hers prepared already, which makes you smile. Good. She learns fast.

While several of the gun stores offer no further information, it's the fifth that is actually helpful.

You quickly call Kelly, who says she will get dressed immediately and provide backup.

Then you draw your revolver and give chase, entering the back room where the man stands with shotgun ready. You just barely manage to jerk back as he fires, ruining some of his counter. It was a pump action. He might have another round, and this is the only entrance. He's set up pretty well, you think. This might be a rough spot...

"Where is my gun." you growl at him.

"Triads." he says angrily. "Triads took it! You fucking madman! They have it and told me to tell them when you came looking! You're in deep shit, dead man!" he manages, before passing out from shock.

Shit. That means it's in the hands of some very dangerous, very powerful people - and you STILL don't know what it does. You turn to look outside, and several black cars are approaching. You know Kelly will be of little help here.

There isn't one that's not the front door. You make a mental note that many buildings in this town are definitely up to code.

However, you take the shotgun and load it some more. With some thought, you boobytrap the front door, and load your revolver. The camera setup in the office allows you to watch the occurences in the front.

The first Triad that enters is blown to bits by the shotty, but the second is more careful - and sliced in half by the sword, suit undamaged. By this point the others have taken position outside.

When two MORE are mowed down by an SMG. That's four down - a whole car of them.

The second car wises up, and decides to take cover behind their vehicle to take potshots at Kelly as she dashes in.

"Please tell me you did not kick the beehive before we even spotted the honey." she says, reloading as she enters the office, panting. Her clothing is disheveled, the buttons done the wrong way, and her hair still wet.

You note it's a good look for her.

She palms her face, looking at her smartphone.
"Thank Google." she mutters. "Use the sword and carve a hole in that wall. We'll escape that way, heading north." she says quickly, making sure her Uzi is working properly. Her eyes have a focus you never saw before. "Triads don't fuck around." she says, "So neither can we. We're heading to a local Artefact we've secured and using it for our own means - I've sent word to the local OC."

Overseer Council. One per continent.

"They ran off." she says, "But they'll be back with worse. How's the door?"

"Tough." you grumble. "The wall's old stone, in parts, and wood in others. Makes it hard to carve a clean line."

"Hurry, we don't have much time."

You pause, looking over at her as she fixes her buttons. She';s slimmed down. Lost weight, you think. It makes her proportions stand out - her hourglass figure was natural, not from fat. You return to the work, trying not to think on it as you break through with a solid kick. She runs past you, into the alley, and you both check for hostiles. None found, you move north with speed.

"We have maybe five minutes. If we take the sewers we will move faster, but there's a known SCP there we never managed to contain that makes it dangerous." she says, pausing next to a manhole cover. "Your call, James."

She nods and you move on.

Update not finished.
>>
>>26755635
You move quickly through the streets.
"So how will we know it...?"

"The SCP is a large, victorian mansion."

"...In Istanbul."

"It's an SCP!"

"...Yeah, alright." you grumble, moving quickly. Luckily, you don't encounter any Triads on the way there. And that's when you see it - the massive house. You run up to the door and she knocks.

The door is opened by a rose-red-haired woman, with piercing eyes. Her expression is one of clear and present hatred, as she stares at both of you. She wears what appears to be a full maid uniform, and is full-figured.

Kelly shows her Foundation badge.
"Agent Kelly and guest. Give my guest all the traditional trappings of safe passage."

She nods, and stands aside for us to rush in, then shuts the door.

"Safe!" Kelly manages, happily.

>What now?
>>
>>26755705
So, what's with the maid?
By the way, you look a little hot.
>>
>>26755705
What the hell did we just walk into? Look around.
>>
>>26755705
Where are we again?
>>
>>26756852
For fuck's sake, it was in that very goddamn post. What the hell is wrong with you?

>>26756761
The decor is impeccable, and the house is perfectly clean. It's actually slightly unnerving, the maid just staring at you. Unblinkingly.

>>26755724
"So who's that."

"That is SCP-3986." Kelly says. "It is an entity of pure, elemental hate. As far as we know, the only thing stopping its rampage across Istanbul and the world was its binding into the form of a house and various bindings of command." she says. "In short, it can do almost anything - but the more we bind it, the more powerful it becomes. Like damming water." she says. "Eventually all it takes is one crack. Anyway, I'm allowed to command it myself by order of OC."

Something about this unnerves you.

"So what now?"

"This is just a staging platform. We need to move on the Triads, but they hold a few SCP of their own. Including your gun - which may be an item of severe interest for us."

"...Us?"

She frowns.
"In any case, we need to move."
>>
>>26757036
"Isn't it safe here?"
>>
>>26757036
Get more information from Kelly on SCP-3986,
What are all bindings currently in place and what is "all the traditional trappings of safe passage"? Is the maid an extension of the house and if so, is she sentient and can be further negociated?

Try talking to the maid.

Also, get reassured on where Kelly's loyalties lie.
>>
>>26757381
"What are the bindings now?"

"Do not harm the owner in any way. Do not take any request to mean harm to the owner in any way. Do not allow, within the confines of your power, the owner to come to any harm. Do not take any request to mean to allow the owner to come to harm. All of these bindings so far are to be called, henceforth, Binding A. All instances of "Owner" in binding A are to be applied to those referred to as guests of the owner." she says. "And so on. More parts refer to sharing information, preventing mental harm, and the like. It will do as you command, though, but do not place long term commands on it, or more bindings. It might result in... Bad things." she states.

"Kelly, who are you?" you ask. "Where do your alliances lay?"

She hems and haws for a moment.
"There is a growing faction among the Overseers that sentient SCPs should be destroyed. Another that they should be treated better. Another that they should be destroyed." she says. "I am not an Overseer, but an inspector acting on their behalf for this matter, and your rifle may be very important for that."

"In what way?"

"...I cannot say."

"So... You're not a rookie?"

She smiles, half out of pity and half impressed.
"No, James. I've been in this game since I was sixteen, though not in an official capacity. I was born in a CF's medical wing to a couple of Agents, and trained since I could talk. I'm an Inspector, and right now, I'm inspecting the dangers and needs of sentient SCPs."
>>
>>26757569
Anti-paranoia training was never meant to cover this! We're definitely still in a dream. I mean come on, rookie Kelly turns out to be a super secret sexy agent sent by a turncoat faction of Overseers and happens to know of a victorian house in Istanbul with a lovely maid who must follow our every command?

Sexy dreamtime action sequence here
>>
>>26757569
"What is your opinion on us asking SCP-3986 for help in getting back the gun?"

"So the bindings are already at their limits?"

>>26757690
inb4 we are harming Kelly and get oneshotted by the house
>>
>>26757569
Ask the SCP what it is so angry about/at?
>>

This house wasn't formerly owned by someone named Armas, was it?

"Well, thanks for being honest with me now rather than later, but before we leave to go get my rifle, you're going to tell me why it is that your mysterious faction inside the mysterious faction wants it and why it should have it."

She sighs.
"It's not mysterious. It's just a few of the OCs believe that Sentient SCPs need a reexamining of their protocols, and I'm examining that. I need your rifle for it."

"And why would you need it?"

"Because... Because we have reason to believe it's growing a personality." she says, "It hasn't yet, but it might. And if it does, it can serve as a data point I desperately need."

"Fine. Tell me you have a plan to hit the Triads?"

"...I don't, actually. I need your help with that."

glad to hear this is back

info we'll need, possible locations of where the rifle may be, and locations of the triads manpower centers, where they have minimal security/not watching, places we could cause distractions and infil/exfil points

also, info on what the triads could bring to bear against us and local resources we can use to help out

>"Oh yes, with a quiet rookie who doesn't quite know what she's doing yet.
>>26746999
>"Kelly." you interject, and she looks up. "An Agent must be confident, and decisive. If you falter in the field, you will die. There is very little middle ground. Gerald's arm is a sign of that."

Who talks like this? This writing is more stilted than a Florida Keys highway. Are you ESL? It's forgivable (barely) if you're ESL or mentally handicapped or something, but if English is your first language quit reading shitty fan-fics and pick up some real literature and learn how people fucking speak. Or just go out in the world and listen to people. Real people, not internet people.

>>26746759
>"I'd rather stay in a hotel, but I don't want Larry from accounting on my ass for two rooms." she says, "But it might be awkward to get one. Maybe I should specify two beds, one room?"
Do you expense account, bitch? If the company's springing for first class they will not care about another hotel room.

>"James, it might be that the rifle has developed anamolous properties. I need your word that if that's the case, it goes to the Foundation. Do I have it?"
James, it might be that I have suddenly caught the anamolous horrible dialogue. Do you know, James? I need your word that if that's the anamolous case, it goes to the anamolous Foundation. Do I anamolous?

>>26767675
Obviously we need to know where the Triad are based. Chinatown, some office buildings, the docks, what?
Then we need to know if that's where they're likely to have the gun or not and if not, where is?
Other things like: what local assets can we utilize besides this stupid mansion, whether she knows if the Triad's are being controlled from behind the scenes, any rumours or facts about them.

I dunno, what colour she's wearing today?

What're you saying besides "Write better, fucktard!" Aside from point two, almost all of these statements are meaningless - Okay, the dialogue is stilted. Yeah, now what?

"Just, uh, fix it!"

Okay. It will now change as much as you expressed it needed to - which is, in exactitude, not at all.

You're not helping, troll.

If you were sincere about your critiques you could have justified or explained them further, just saying "THIS IS SHIT, FIX IT" does not help at all
>>
>>26768604
Not that person but I can rephrase it as more obviously contrustive:

>Read good books, talk to real people. Dialog can't be explained it comes from experience.
My personal suggestion is to speak stuff out loud.

>Logic.

>Don't use the word anamolous, see point 1.

>Don't reuse stuff from other games. Come up with original or at least original seeming content.

>See point 1.
>>
back to the topic at hand, >>26768371 & >>26768504 are good points to start on our plan, lets get us some info and be smart about our hunt
>>
>>26768654
Why did you think that was me? It doesn't have my trip. Why do you think I'm EGO? I changed the trip to avoid this confusion. I sincerely would like to know how you want me to improve, and maybe if you were more specific I could? You don't have to, anyway, I'm going to let this 404 and start with a new thread.

>>26768692
Thank you, I will keep this in mind for next thread, as well as supported suggestions.
>>
>>26768700
Try to not respond to the trolls, if they are sincere about their criticism, they will elaborate and explain it, also, might want to try waiting a day or two before making a new thread, let the trolls scheduled magnetic tape backup commence and forget this existed.

Also, if you have access to the twitter, or make a new twitter for the quest, a heads up few hours before you put up a thread, and then linking the thread in twitter helps a lot
>>
>>26768686
Alright, here's my advice. Own up to your mistakes. Don't insult your audience by pretending to be someone else, you're still Ego/Shot and you're carrying all the baggage that name implies. Don't blame people for taunting your stupid ploys and stupid dialogue and stupid stupid stupid behavior in the quest general threads that led to you being reviled for being an asshole and nitwit.

Stop stealing from other games, you look like an even bigger tool when you do it. Come up with something original. If you can't come up with something original, at least restyle what you're stealing so it is not instantly obvious.

You don't have an ear for how people speak. Go out in the world and listen to how people hold conversations. On your way home from your shitty retail job or whatever you do stop at a Denny's or a Starbucks or pretty much anywhere people end up having discussion and and eavesdrop on people. Normal people.

Try speaking what you're writing aloud. You might be able to catch when you've written utter crap.

Turn your spell checker function on. If you're using a browser that was made sometime in the past five years it's got a spell checker.
>>
>>26768734
Why are you so insistent that it's the same person? Hell, the person who responded to you wasn't even the guy who is running the quest.
>>
>>26768734
nice reply, but I'm not the QM...
>>
>>26768734
>>26768692
Huge points with the stealing. The triads, mansion, Istanbul, rifle, sewer fish monsters, and I'm sure a fair number of other things are barely altered lifts from something else.
>>
>>26768790
Maybe he'll throw in a Turkish wigger vampire too.
>>
>>26768881
Oh snap! I was expecting something more along the lines of a climactic sword duel with the blade-wielding Triad leader.
>>
>>26768904
I'm holding a torch for him introducing other characters he can bastardize to sooth his inner child's hurt over being treated like a piece of shit for behaving like a passive-aggressive piece of shit.
>>
>>26768928
He can go deeper. Maybe a milk maid-esque mechanic woman, a tiny child-god possessed by an entity beyond mortal comprehension, or a mischievous thief with an SCP that lets him warp through space and be nigh-uncatchable.
>>
>>26768981
Only if we can shoot the dick off the thief.
>>
>>26769009
The dick AND the hand, and then he can come back with a monster hand and dick just like in the dream sequence!
>>
>>26769048
Why stop there? Chop the other hand off and replace it with a chainsaw. Then he can get a job working for S-Mart, retailers of fine anamolassous rifles, maids, mansions, and Istanbuls. Do you anamolassous?
>>
>>26769154
Oh boy, that enemy would be so overpowered that the MC wouldn't stand a chance! Unless... he was a sentient SCP all along and he awakens his hidden, but horrible, potential as a cannibalistically powered regenerator. Or, you know, something! Just throwing out totally unique and original ideas around, yessir.

Needs more shallow jailbait characters who are submissive and stupid and go along with whatever the main character comes up with when he's literally fighting werewolves for a holy grail so that he can make wishes.

And sexy QMILFS (that's Queen Mothers I'd Like to Fuck, FYI). Needs at least one of those.
>>
>>26769303
How else could we stop the evil temptress from mind-fucking us into compromising our secrets before ascending to demi-godhood and bending the fabric of reality to become the new MC?

QMILFs are VITAL to the quest's continuation.

How much weak storytelling and blatant railroading should be included? I say a lot. In fact, just make the entire game be blatant railroad. Choo choo.
>>
>>26769603
Well, I mean, okay as long as we get a designated love interest who shows interest in our lack of personality and middle school level banter. 80% of the action text involving her have to remark on the current state of her physical attractiveness though, for sure, or we might forget she has a vagina. Gotta remind players of those important character traits!

For that matter, the main character should have as LITTLE description as possible, so I can imagine I'm him and fa- put myself in his shoes.

I've spoken with him on this point, and once we get out of Istanbul, it won't come up further, as that's where his notes on specific events runs totally dry.

Meanwhile, I will work to avoid what is there currently. Several plot points he had planned were worryingly lifted. He showed resistance, but this isn't his quest anymore, so there wasn't much he could really say. Needless to say, next thread should show some dramatic changes. I hope to have many of you along for the ride!

However, I would like you to sage the thread from now on. It would help immensely.
