>>
With the pirates surrounding me, I throw my hands up and make some quick barriers around myself. I glance around and see that Jojo and Bartleby are nowhere to be found...

The pirate grunts rush me all at once, knocking themselves into my walls of air.

The captain slowly stands with some bandages around his wounds. I got him in the stomach and in the shoulder, I note.

"Hyar Hyar Hyar!! The girl from th' other night! ... I've been look'n fer you...." he begins to blubber as tears stream down his face. his crew wipe their faces and eyes as they mutter," Such beautiful love... Such a sad story, and so on.

My heart is a lump of iron," Yeah, yeah! So, what do you want saggy ass?!"

The captain stops, and then smiles greedily," Hyar Hyar... Seems that you've got some tolerance to my 'power...'

I smile, the idiot's distracted. I begin to make one big barrier outside of my own, boxing them in while he rambles on about young love and fate, and bla, and blah...

"Hey, are you listening?! You... " He blubbers out even MORE oh come on!
"So insensitive, you demon woman, faker!"

Did he just say I'm not a woman? His men rush me to be stopped by my wall.

I smile and take out the Dial Pistol as my sidearm, flipping the switch to "Hurricane." and readying the air to be hard.

Pulling the trigger, all of these weirdos get blown around till they're unconscious, dead, or surrender.
>>
In retrospect, I think that move may have not been a good idea... with the hurricane, a good portion of the town's been devestated, many of the villagers have been injured, and what's more, a lot of them look angry... Seems I've done quite a bit of collateral damage. . .

Jojo comes down from the sky with Bartleby, and even he seems... impressed?!

"Hyek Hyek Hyek!" He laughs with that fat gut of his. " My potions couldn't 'ave done better than this Miss Reers! Hoo boy! This is a wreck ta see!"

Many of the villagers rise from the wreck and glare me down... The village chief stands up and yells," Who the hell're you?! Doin' this to my town!" His face is red. "Ah, someone fetch me my glasses!"

A small boy brings him his destroyed glasses, only one cracked lens in place. Adjusting what remains of his spectacles, he stares at me.

"Y-you! You're with the merchant guild aren't you?! How do you expect to pay for this?!"

>[] I don't... Run away!

"I'll send a request to redevelop this town into a Merchant Guild trade hub. The increased flow of money and far-off goods should more than make up for the damage incurred today."
>>

Ophelia's career begins as a merchant... I'm leaving it open to how you guys want her to end up.
>>
>>23037544

This. This is likely the most profitable. And a wise man can hear profit on the winds.
>>
>>23037626
Y'know what, I'm voting for this now.
>>
Holding my hands together, I bow the humble merchant's bow.

"Am I ever so deeply ashamed for my reckless behavior.." I stand straight up again," I'll send a request into the merchant's guild to rebuild and redevelop this town into a trading hub. Surely, this will give your people jobs and incite trade in your village, thus making you all so very wealthy. It's the least we can do after all." I finish with my best smile and open my arms as I await his response.

The Village Chief scratches his stubble as he ponders this. "Rebuild the village and become wealthy... eh? I think I like the sound of that.. If you do this, we won't file complaint with your guild! make it so!" He slams a fist into his open palm and the rest of his lens falls apart.

"I think I'll start wearing a monocle.. heheh..."

What an odd village chief... He sure fell for that easily.. Though I'll see what I can do to convince the guild, after all their prestige, and more importantly, mine is on the lime in this...

"Hyek, Hyek, Miss Reers, when are we leav'n?" Bartleby pokes my butt, eliciting a sharp glare from me.

"Excuse me... We?" I ask.

"Bartleby shrugs," Aye, I said we. I'd like to see more things explod'n in the near future.. But.. we should really be going to sea soon." He keeps glancing at the pirate ship.

I understand him, ohh, this guy is good...

"Ah, yes, we'll be leaving, and taking this Crybeard guy with us... You folks can do what you want with the crew, I don't care."

I walk over to the ruined house that's ended up on top of the captain and pull my dial gun to blow it out of the way, but nothing comes out. Huh... is it out of ammo? How do you even recharge a gun that shoots air?

Bah. I stick it back in a holster.

How should I go about taking this guy...

Hm, perhaps we should try using our powers a bit. Making our hands hard enough to cut through wood like butter should be within our scope.
>>

Ophelia's strength is dismal.

She's more of a technical fighter, not a bruiser.
>>

>[] Write in.

Make a really long lever out of whatever we can find and shift the rubble that way.
>>
Could we perhaps use our hard ability combined with Bartleby's explosions to limit the chance of him dying? Maybe hardening the air around him in a bubble of protection?
>>

Clever.
>>

This
With all the ruined houses around, we should be able to find a good sized piece of lumber. Grab Bartleby and get to levering.
>>

Or we could make it out of hardened rope or air, at a stretch.
>>

Seconding.
>>
Isn't our power basically density manipulation, so couldn;t we try to make it really soft instead and just push through the rubble like its mud.
>>
>>23038379

Density is a side effect, but she can't make things softer than they were originally.
>>
I motion for Bartleby to come over to me, away from the villagers.

"Oi, oi, oi, Miss Reers, he doesn't look too good."

"Yes, but he's still alive. I won't be able to move him. Think you can blast him out?"

Bartleby smiles," Oh, of course Miss Reers. But it may rough 'em up a bit."

"I'll have that covered, just blow off the debris."

Pulling up the sleeves of his robe, Bartleby wihips out some potions he snagged earlier from the stash while I focus on hardening the air around our quarry.

He flings two vials and the explosion clears the debris, while the hardened air bubble leaves Cry-beard here unscathed.. What IS his name anyway? Bah, whatever.

Jojo's soulless eyes twinkle and he picks up the big ole pirate with his talons, staying aloft in the air despite the man's size," Hey. Ass-bitch, where you want the guy?" I'm surprised he did this without complaining..

"I'd like him back on our ship, if you don't mind."
I punctuate that command with a wink.

"Awww c'mon! That's so damn far! Ugh. You owe me another one for this Who-" I interrupt him with a shot of "Fortitude."

Jojo gulps and flies off with that huge bloke. That bird is full of mysteries...

I can't remember when exactly I set the explosive, and it's getting dark fast...

>[] Risk the danger, search the pirate ship.

>[] Risk the danger, search the pirate ship.

Hardened air is a good protection from explosions.
>>
>>23038444
pay some local children to find the vile and toss it well over board

if they do it and save the ship we can pay the from what we find aboard if they die we don't need to pay at all win win
>>
>>23038483

The Blast sand is a LOT of explosive though.
>>
>>23038524

Would it be more effective to harden the glass bottle than hardening the air?

More generally, does the original hardness of the material have any effect on how hard we can make it?
>>
Do we have a Devil Fruit, which one? Haven't seen these threads before.
>>
>>23038589
We make things hard.
Like bonners and air n shit.
>>
>>23038524

>>
>>23038589
Katai Katai no Mi.

Hard Hard fruit.
Allows the user to harden materials.
>>
>>23038572
Not necessarily. Though Ophelia's still figuring out her power...

And hardening the bottle at her skill level likely wouldn't stop the boom.
>>
>>23038444
We remember where we hid the blast sand, right? Can't we just chuck it overboard and keep the whole ship?
>>
So. Are we boarding or no?
>>
>>23038641

She may be able to find it...

But it's been a day since she planted it..
>>
>>23038610

Oh I should have just read the stats, thanks anyway. A devil fruit and a dial pistol? Damn we have some serious baller grand line gear.
>>
>>23038649

Seems like the general concept is "Defuse the Blast sand, then loot the ship".
>>
If we can't defuse we shouldn't go on since even if we do protect ourself from the explosion we will still lose everything and probably drown.
>>
>>23038649
I vote yes, throwing cation to the wind is the only true way to pirate around these parts.
>>
>>23038802
We also have very good luck, so even if things do go south, we'll manage.
>>
>>23038802

"Nothing ventured, nothing gained" sounds a bit more merchant-like.
>>
I stare at the ship for a few moments. My instinct... The one that smells profit, tells me I should take that ship for myself.

"Say Bartleby, is there a way to diffuse blast sand?" I ask.

"Why Miss, none that I know of. That stuff is mighty rare. Surprised you had so much of it on your ship."

"We're boarding."

"Wha- Miss Reers, what if it goes off?!"

I smile and turn to him, leaning over down to his height,"Why, you'll pitch that stuff into the sea for me, when we find it, won't you?"

"Hyek... Heh.. Certainly Miss Reers."

I thought so.

Boarding the ship, I check around for the bucket. . . The bucket I hid the sand in... The bucket that should be right somewhere.. the bucket that I'm NOT finding.

"Cht! Where is it!?"

I commit to searching for the damn sand... I'll have this ship and whatever's on it even if it kills me, which I'm fairly certain it won't.

Heading directly to the captain's quarters, I find the jar sitting pleasantly on his desk, flashing the pleasant bright red that it does just before it detonates.

"Bartleby, be a dear?"

Bartleby grabs the flask and chucks it out of the ship, landing in the water some distance away. Taking out a spyglass, I see that it sinks. Well, that's good. Don't want it to float on back.

Bartleby and I scrounge around the ship and find a good deal of treasure... and other odd paraphernalia of women that must've made the Cry-pirate sad or something...

Among the treasure, I find the guns I had recently sold to his gullible crew, various katanas and cutlasses that they must have stolen, a keg of very rare and pricy vintage wine that's half drunk... I swear if they even knew the value... and finally, last but not least, a... a strange hat... it's got a wide brim, and a cone-shaped tip. Around the hat are patterns of stars, and hanging from the circular brim are little ornamental stars and moons... Huh... how odd...

What do I take back? I can only take back 3 points of items between Bartleby and I... I could enlist the villagers.. though they may want some for themselves...

>[] Rifles (3 points) Divisible
>[] Swords( 2 points) Divisible
>[] Wine Keg (2 points)

>>
Ophelia doesn't have the crew to man a ship of this size, otherwise, she would without a doubt take the whole thing.

She can however stake claim for it in the nanme of the merchant's guild.
>>
>>23039236
Hat takes priority
If possible take it all to the ship, give some swords to those that help.
>>
Stake a claim on the ship, have Bartleby stay on guard while you go bring your ship around. Load up the valuables. We aren't in a rush since the pirates are taken care of.
>>
>>23039236

1). Get Bartleby to sail the Sloop alongside this ship.
2). Make a slide from this ship down to the Sloop.
3). ???
4). Profit!
>>
>>23039236
Take multiple trips?
Are we on a time limit?
>>
>>23039289
Once the villagers see we are fine coming out they would probably loot the ship themselves
>>
>>23039297
So the villagers are going to steal from the person who just saved their town, and indirectly the guild that is going to regrow their town better than it was before?
>>
>>23039315
A lot of the shit on the ship is likely theirs.

The pirates were there for a while.
>>
Is the ship sail-able by two people? Let's just take it over to Sloop.
>>
>>23039315
We also destroyed their town. So yes, I'd assume they would
>>
>>23039236
Are the pirates' swords better significantly better quality than the guns we sold them?
>>
Hence why we leave Bartleby to protect our investment.

>>23039329
We can always point out that they were about to be killed by that guy.
>>
>>23039336

The swords are better. But swords are harder to find buyers for.
>>
If we can only take 3 points worth, the hat, the barrel and the most expensive looking sword are the best bets.
>>
>>23039350

I'm going with Bartleby guards, and we bring the sloop, trying not to draw attention to what we're doing. . . and in that scenario, we'll reunite with Jojo and his "diplomacy."

>>
is therre a robe to go with that hat?
>>
Yes, my nose for treasure indeed proved true, however I can hardly carry everything, and Bartleby's just one man...

"Bartleby!"

Bartleby instinctively stands at attention, I notice the odd behavior.

"That was an odd response..."

"Used to be a Marine Miss. Gunnery only made things explode so often though, ya know? Hehe... Learned me some chemistry and here you have it."

Well, that's something I hadn't known about the alchemist... maybe if he gets in shape he can be my first mate... or maybe Jojo... hmm.. Jojo as first mate... Speaking of Jojo..

"Bartleby, I'd like you to guard this ship. I'm laying claim to it as a representative of the Merchant's guild and part of the deal in reconstructing this village... Unless you have any qualms about that?"

The fat man smiles," No Miss! None may board this ship without your approval, Ma'am."

"At ease Bartleby, I'm just a merchant."

"And I'd like to sail with ye, hyek, hyek."

It takes some time into the night, but we eventually get all the best goods I can onto my small ship. The Crying captain's been tied up to my mast and gagged, while Jojo's sat across from him, watching. The man hasn't made a peep into the night.

We set sail at dawn with all of our spoils from this successful venture!

>>

I'm going to say no to this actually, the Will of D. is supposed to be rare as fuck, far more so that devil fruit, IIRC

We have the best luck in the one piece verse.
Also, one more vote and the original thread on the archive hits epic status.

Actually, it's above the Epic Thread line now.

I set sail for Loguetown. after handling those pansy pirates, I feel like I need to visit home... To sell my spoils and get ready for the grand line!

Bah, the merchant's guild is all like,"You need more experience, we won't support you until you reach outr first hub there, yada yada yada. Forget that, I'm ready to go and make my fortune, NOW."

As the days pass on our small ship, we're fortunate enough to have good winds and weather.

During the days, I spend most of my time training my fruit power. I'm a pretty sharp pistol so I figure out better ways to harden the air and find more ways to refract and focus light. I can't make anything big enough yet.. though I have visions for a deathray... I also figure out more ways to use my power, making my skin as hard as marble... or as close as I can estimate.. along with using my dial gun to shoot solid bullets of air on lower settings... Oh yeah, I found out that it seems to be able to shoot again after a while... After a hurricane, it needs at least an hour to recharge..
I found that out after using it to blow our sail!

I spend the evenings gambling with the meager crew that I have, fancying myself the beacon of lady luck... Bartleby tends to lose a lot, and I swear Jojo's cheating, he keeps getting ridiculous hands.. err talons...

I spend a good portion of my downtime betwen gambling and training to speak with my pistols. Luck feels like it's gotten a bit shinier... or maybe a bit luckier, who knows?

I pay extra attention to Charisma and use it to shut up Jojo when he gets out of line in whistling and hooting at me, what a perverted bastard bird.... I tried to get rid of him, but he just sticks around.. I won't waste any more ammo on him...

Luck up! Status: 5 leaf Clover
Charisma up! Golden Tongue
Devil power up! (F)ebil
>>
>>23040106
Not sure about that one

>>23040086
We are damn lucky, but given that we don't really know much about the will of D. in the first place, it might be best to leave it alone, also, Vash says stop killing people
>>
>>23040086
Aaaand there it goes.

Anyway, ON TO LOGUETOWN

>captcha: for ncithca
Sure, for Ncithca, whatever that is.

Final day of the voyage, as we're in sight of the port to Loguetown...
>>
Devil fruit training should take priority, we have a unique paremecia fruit, even haki really wouldn't do much against us, aside from hit us harder or allow the user to dodge our air blasts.

Luck should be second, buggy the clown has gotten farther than 90% of pirates running on luck alone.

Cunning third, I would say charisma since we're a salesperson, but who needs to be likeable when you can be shrewd
>>
>>23040121
>though I have visions for a deathray
Archimedes would be proud.
>>
>>23040158

Cunning also increases use of Devil-power.
>>
As I'm waking up to my morning routine of breakfast, preening, and training my power on deck, I see a man standing on the bow of my ship wearing odd clothes that are part robe, and part cowbow, wearing a blindfold with golden hair... He clutches his arms and visibly shivers.

I have no idea how he got on my ship, there's no other vessels around... Loguestown is still only in the horizon...

It's nice when customers come to us themselves, but if he doesn't have money, or a damn good reason and something to offer, he goes over the side

Kind of wish Overhuman had that recognition... Aww well, I like writing for both of these!

>>
I stare at the man as he seems to continue to stand at the bow and shiver... Well, he doesn't seem to be hostile.. I perform a gesture and a cage solidifies around the man, swaggering over to the man across my deck, I take out "Charisma" and tap one of the bars of the air-cage.

"Why hello there, what do you want? Here to buy something... maybe?"

"Ah, who's there?!" He jumps to attention at my voice, apparently he didn't hear my walk...
"Light guide me, I am only worth the darkness..." He drops to his knees and into a prayer-like position.

Huh, well this is unexpected.

"Sir, ah, good customer? What did you come here for?" I hold my hands in front of myself, rubbing them around instinctively...

"I... Ah! The light! The Light demands that I wear my hat! Stars guide me, I need my hat lest the light blind my unworthy soul!" He begins to sob underneath the blindfold.. This reminss you of the cry-beard tht Jojo's kept in check the entire voyage.. Heh, what a good bird...

I ponder to myself... Hat? Hat... What kind of hat have I seen that would match his clothes....?

Ah! That thing I found on Crybeard's ship! Wait... if he wants it...

"Well, I may have the very hat that you're looking for! However you're standing on a merchant's ship! Have you anything to offer, dear customer?" I instinctively punctuate with a wink.

"Umm, mam? I'm blindfolded, I can't see you wink."

What?! Then how did he know?!

"Stars guide me! The light has led me to the hat of my devotion! Alas, I only have my services to offer." He.. didn't really answer...

Free labor?
Can't really turn that down.
Plus he's on our ship in the middle of nowhere, he's gotta have powers or something.
>>
>[] Accept the deal, looks like we've got a lackey.
welll we are looking for lackies.... I mean crew.
>>
accept the deal

dude must have something special about him finding us out in the middle of nowhere.
>>
Well, I can't turn down free labor... And he seems trustworthy, although a bit... Pious? If he's taken an oath of poverty or something, all the better, he won't ask me for money.. though his clothes... so flamboyant..

I swagger off, grab the hat from the cargo hold, small as it is, and as I turn to go up, he's already down here, no footsteps or noise, or anything.

"Glory be to the light of the East! I have found my hat!" He kneels before me.

"My lady, if you would honor me?" Heh.. my, what a gentleman..

I place his hat atop his head, and he flourishes his cloak, and we're back atop my deck, his blindfold now off, and eyes shadowed by the brim of the strange hat. Regarding his eyes, they shine like stars.

"You shall have my service till the stars call me home." He holds me as I've fallen back into his arms.

"A-and when would that be?"

He drops me, to walk off and ponder. OW, sonnova!

"Why... that must be when the world ends... Or I do.. whichever comes first."

"You... Ugh... What's your name?!"

With another flourish of his cape, I swear I hear castanets in the background," I am the 7th disciple of the mages in the stars, the light-kissed traveler that knows of no place to call home. A lover, and a fighter, to friend and foe. I am... Nicolas, Le Lobo!"

The background castanets end with a trumpet.. what even...

With another flourish of his cape, I'm back in his arms," My lady, I shall protect you from harm..." He drops me again," But what if you decide to harm yourself...

This guy...

Against my better judgement, I shoot Charisma to wake up Jojo and kick Bartleby to wake him up.

Yawning, Bartleby sleepily says," Well, G'mornin Ma'am. What's goin on this early in the mornin?"

"We have a new crew-mate... A weird one.."

"Why, he must be quite the interesting fellow then, yes?" Bartleby rises from among various alchemical agents he's been resisting experimentation with... he's been promised free reign of Loguetown's chemists if he does so.. he can't help but sleep with what he does have though..

Jojo swoops down and lands on my shoulder, glaring directly into my eye with his own, soulless ones. "What do you wake me so early for, woman?" With a second shot of Charisma, he squawks and flutters away in fear.

"I'm not woman, I'm your captain. We should be clear on that, Jojo."

"Wh-whatever! Just cause you've got a great ass..."

I smile," Why thank you!"

He goes quiet and takes a place on Bartleby's shoulder.

Nicolas Le Lobo bows before our small assembly," My lady,. my good sir..."

"And good bird! Geeze Wo- I mean, captain... What's up with this faggot?!" Jojo yells obstinately.

Nicolas Le Lobo bows once again," I am a lover of all lovers, and a fighter of all fighters. Please do not think of the light in such a narrow way.."

Bartleby throws his hands up and slaps his gut," Well, a Loverboy are ya? Hyek, Hyek. Ophelia, you keep'n him f' his looks?" He laughs out loud.

As Nicolas looks away, I can't hep but steal a glance at his ass... It's... Exquisite...I'll touch him while he sleeps...

The little greet goes off well, and Nicolas explains that he is indeed a fruit eater. His church gave him a fruit for his holy status.

The Warp Warp no Mi.

He has the ability to teleport himself and other things, though it sometimes won't work on those unwilling.. and if he doesn't have his hat, he's not permitted to see anything, those making his warping erratic.

This ability... Oh... I smell such profit...

inquire about the church.
>>
As our ship nears port, I ask Nicolas Le Lobo about his apparent "Church..." I had actually never heard of such a thing before.. Well.. maybe when I was a little girl... but then, my father told me all sorts of fantastical stories and lies about him making a successful deal.. I wonder how dad's doing..

"Well, the Church of Light worships the light of the three poles and the Grand light in the center. So, we worship the light of the North, East, and West, and seek the glory of the Grand Light..." He closes his eyes and seems to bask in something.

"Wait, poles? What about the south?

"The Light of the south is not for talk in pleasant company... Please never say that to me again." He doesn't open his eyes and simply sits there...

Ok, well.. I won't.. I think to myself. Such abn odd guy, might be nice to just ditch him...

(And that's it for tonight, slumber calls me. I've archived, good night guys! Sorry for starting a bit late! Speaking of which, I'm not likely to run quests in the next two days due to work making this so late... if anyone is new or would like to mail me, my mail is in the field.

You guys have been amazing tonight as always. Have a good night!)
