You wake up at 5 AM sharp to run drills for the day. This will be the first time you've ever done so and the training was a long time ago.

You decide on a decent list of activities that should keep the squad combat ready, from cardio to time at the range. The day passes uneventfully, Emily tosses you the occasional glance, the only one knowing Karri didn't stay in her bunk last night.

You're relieved of duty later that afternoon, you're pretty tired but you think you should be able to head back out.

Just 2 things left now. Debt Collection and Recon.

>Which first
>Is anyone coming with you.
>Are you taking anything additional (Within reason. You can't really walk around with a shotgun and full combat gear.)
>>
>>19516562
We'll do some recon and take Emily with us. She does seem better at the actual hacking aspect than Kerrigan, who likes exploding things better.
>>
>>19516705

You elect to take Emily with you this time.
How much are you going to tell her about what's going on?

BRB
>>
>>19516740
We tell her that we need some help finding out about the Krogan named Weyrloc Tyran.

Keep it to a minimum for now unless she specifically asks.

Back

Alright, you go and ask Emily to accompany you in finding this Krogan. She hesitantly agrees.
She asks a few questions, mostly who and why which you hand wave away as some "N" business.
She questions her security clearance and you assure her you can let other people in on operations so long as they understand it's classified, even "N" operatives need backup if it's outside their area of expertise which placates her.

>So where would you like to start your search?
>>
>>19516914
First thing's first then. Are there any known hangout for Krogans, particularly offworlders?
>>
>>19516948

Terra Nova is a human colony. Not too many that you're aware of but you mostly hang out close to the base which is a hotbed of human activity. People that are frowned upon being there typically avoid security checkpoints like the plague.
>>
braith: is there a list of black-listed bars/establishments?
[1:00 PM] braith: a quick extranet search on those might narrow down things considerably
[1:00 PM] theillusiveman: Extranet reports show 2 establishments on Terra Nova that likely match your search
[1:01 PM] theillusiveman: 1. Hangman's Noose-Some kind of dive bar popular with the smuggling crowd.
[1:02 PM] theillusiveman: 2. Blue Sun Security Inc.- A recruiting station for the blue suns mercenary group
>>
>>19517044
Hangman's Noose seems a good place to start.
>>
>>19517065

You discover Hangman's Noose is located on the outskirts of Scott, it's likely still a pre-fab structure if that's the case. You call a cab and are on your way there with Emily.

"So why's the Alliance so interested in this Krogan?" she asks

>Response
>>
>>19517075
"They didn't say. Something about me not having the 'need to know.'"
>>
>>19517110

"So they don't even tell their operatives what is going on?" she says looking a little frustrated
>>
>>19517124
"'Ours is not to question why, ours is to do or die.' You know how MI gets sometimes, especially towards us grunts."

"Right...we'll I'm behind you one-hundred percent." she says.

"That's good to know Emily."

It begins to rain, the Skycar encounters a little turbulence but levels out.
A few minutes later you arrive.

The bar is an ugly outdated pre-fab structure, mostly surrounded by storage facilities. Tacky neon lights have been added to the prefab. A neon stickman hangs from a tree and sways back and forth as the lights alternate.

"How macabre..." Emily states stepping out of the cab.

The rain is easing up a little, you head inside to what you can only describe as a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Flip music from around the turn of the century plays across the bar's PA system. Heavy guitar rifts and bass.

A lot of people give you deep hard stares, most ignore you outright. The bar seems mostly populated with humans, there is a small cloister of Salarians. 2 Turians, A Batarian, and...a group in the far corner of a Krogan surrounded by a table of Vorcha.

>Action
>>
>>19517272
Take a seat, order a drink, and try not to look too conspicuous for now. See if Emily can get access to anything that can give us a better look or listen in on that Krogan.

This is not the kind of place we want to be caught in a fight at, especially with those Vorcha there.
>>
>>19517314

You head to the bar and have a seat. You order a couple drinks for you and Emily.
>-2 credits

No cameras, no readily apparent way to listen in electronically unless you get creative.
>>
>>19517333
Any way to shift our omni-tool to pick up what they're saying like one of those directional antennas?
>>
>>19517367

"Emily, is there any way you can use an omni-tool as a directional mic?"

"Of course! You didn't know that?"

"No..."

"Oh...well then...lucky you brought me along."

She taps a couple commands and has you put on a small earphone, she then points it to the group.

>"...NOT NEED PLAN, WE SHOOT THEY DIE!."

>"I already told you, we follow the plan and mop up whatever is left."

>"TAKE TOO LONG, WE MOVE NOW, SURPRISE, THEY DEAD ANYWAY"

> *deep sigh* "Stupid vorcha, I will not explain this again, the target is heavily fortified, with the explosives we'll take most of them out with the initial blast them clean up any survivors. In a straight fight we don't have much of a chance, we're outgunned fifteen to one."

>"WASTE OF..."

>*loud smacking noise, you can see the Krogan headbutt the Vorcha unconscious* "Stupid Vorcha..."

Nothing but silence after that, the Krogan enjoys his drink and the Vorcha sit there scanning the room wildly.

>Action
>>
>>19517426
...yeah, not something we want to get involved in, not unarmed anyway.

I'll suggest sending an anonymous text to the police about this, but sitting tight for a little while longer so the Vorcha don't notice us.
>>
>>19517468

>Police or back to Harken?
>>
>>19517487
Harken first to see if this is the guy he's after.

If not, then yeah, the cops and get the hell out of Dodge before the cops show up.
>>
>>19517527

You call up Harken on your Omni-tool.

"Yes?"

"Is this your guy?" you say as you send him video Emily shot of him just now.

"That's him, what's going on?"

"Sounds like he's planning an attack on someone, they plan to use explosives said they'd be outnumbered 15-1."

"Not my crew, don't care, sounds like he's here on Blood Pack business, good to know. With those numbers sounds like he's wanting to attack the Blue Suns. This could be very good for business..."

>Respond
>>
>>19517748
(Though text message only, don't want Emily to see this)

Should I contact the police or leave it at this?
>>
>>19517788

"Police? Whatever for? The Merc groups kill each other all the time. Nothing to shed tears over, not to mention, they'll want vengeance, they'll need guns. Who supplies guns? Me. Hell if anything I want you to go shake that rotten bastard's hand for buying my next home. Fantastic work kid, now get out of there."

>Action
>>
>>19517847
Well then, guess that settles things. Find a good opportunity and get out before the Vorcha start looking our way.
>>
>>19517925

You tap Emily and tell her to call a cab we're gonna be on our way out soon.

Roll a d100 goal is a 50.
>>
rolled 80 = 80

>>19517960
Oh lord, here goes nothing
>>
>>19517993

"Hey Regal, haven't seen you in a while." you hear from over your shoulder.

You spin around to get a good look. A younger human guy in a large coat is walking with purpose towards the corner where the Vorcha and Krogan sit.

A bad feeling comes over you.

>Regal bought a gun and hadn't paid Harken back, you were to collect the gun or his payment.

It occurs to you maybe he wasn't worried about payment because by the time anyone noticed it wasn't gonna matter.

>Action
>>
>>19518040
Well, we found our guy, but this isn't a good time. I suggest telling Harken about this situation first. We're working for him on this and he may want a different course of action if these two people are working together.
