9 KB Doppleganger Damacy II TempDM !!WBgKxxhAACV 04/18/10(Sun)19:22 No.9277671
    >Since the GM for Doppleganger Damacy hasn't shown up in almost 2 weeks, and since there's a clear demand for continuation, I'm going to continue it until the original GM comes back.

The basic premise: You started out as a generic creature with no voice, no skills, feats, or special abilities whatsoever, and every stat at 10.
Whenever you eat a creature you acquire one of its traits. Permanently. For the purpose of this quest, that means I'll give you a short list to choose from. You just finished a busy night of growth, murdering a hobo, a family, numerous street animals, a druid, and said druid's entire animal shelter. After polishing off a camel you managed to subdue, you felt temporarily sated, and found a place to hide and rest.

Now you are awake, and hungry again. What is your plan of action?

You know that wizards tend to be the smartest of people. You know there are some in this city, not the great sequestered archmages performing grand experiments, but the more practical sort who earn a day-to-day living applying their magic practically.

Suggestion: As wizards might be limited, we might be better off munching them for their spell levels, and finding someone else intelligent to actually increase the ability score.

We'll still need a spellbook to prepare wizard spells, right? That could make things even more complicated, because we'll need a source of Spellcraft as well.

Humanoid in posture and general appearance, you'll pass under a quick inspection, in the dark, or while covered up. Closer examinations will reveal you to be something else. You still have the child's voice.

You'll need the requisite Intelligence, a spellbook, spell slots, and the Spellcraft to decipher the book.

    >Do we know if any of those wizards work nights? Probably easier to get 'em if they're napping.
The knowledge you devoured didn't include even the location of these wizards, let alone their schedule. You can remember a few names.

I suggest we roam around the dark alleys of the streets. We need detailed hiding-spot information and stuff, and personal observation is a decent way to get that. We might find some prey while learning the city layout, as well.

    >This. Continue to roam the streets gaining knowledge and power, eventually consume wizards
You stick to the back alleys, keeping quiet, finding hiding holes and getting a mental map of the area near the animal shelter. Most of the buildings are built out of brick, the streets made of cobblestone. There's relatively few people outside, as it's a religious holiday. You hear voices in one of the alleys, and further investigation shows it to be several unkempt individuals, who seem to be brokering a deal.

    >I lack knowledge of their location, maybe I can absorb someone who has this?
That would work nicely, and increase your total knowledge of this city. Not to mention, it would take a little edge off of your persistent hunger.

Point blank shot is useful even without the crosbow, for throwing. +1 to hit and damage within 30' is boss, especially when we're dropping something heavy on someone from a rooftop. Speaking of that, we should gather some cobblestones and place them on some rooftops we could hide on, so we have weapons stashed for later hunting, and so that we have things to drop on pursuers if we're discovered later.

You regain 1 HP per creature consumed. You haven't tried it, but healing magic should work fine. Time resting will also heal wounds.

Consensus seems to be either crossbow proficiency (to remove -4 nonproficiency penalty) or Point Blank Shot. First of these two to get three votes after this post will be chosen.

Point Blank Shot Acquired. Your eyes flex slightly, as the nearby world appears to be in sharper focus. With the addition of 3 humans (and just one cat) to your diet, you begin to look more properly human.
