    Previous thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/7782070/

A few months ago, you were the girlfriend of a hero, frustrated with his inattention to you and constant focus on fighting evil and determined to do something about it. You became an aspiring sorceress, learning magic in the hopes of becoming a villain and forcing your love to finally focus on you fully.

A few weeks ago, you were a terrified and abused vampire bride, watching in horror as you were frequently tortured by the older vampire Adrienne and committing one dire sin after another in your injuries and desperate hunger. The stress and pain changed you quickly, and after attacking and killing Adrienne you have been moved by your master to the city of Itonia, where you have amicably met his other scions and slaughtered dozens of the living for your own benefit.

And now, after a rash of theft, murder, kidnapping, and blackmail, you have finally created a lesser summoning circle and established two hidden lairs. You are the dark sorceress that you once wished to be, although the price is more than you ever thought you would pay.

Sheryl, a young streetwalker you recruited to your service with gold and promises, has proven herself quite useful as your agent amongst the living. As she was pound by a fae pact to serve you, you have no fear that she will turn against you in any but the most egregious circumstances.

Numerous summoned servitors, each with their own set of abilities, are ready to do whatever you ask of them. Their magical and mundane skills can do what yours cannot, and have proven invaluable in almost all your successes thus far.

Sarai, an older vampire who described herself as an assassin and mercenary, allowed you to use some of her supplies and stay in her concealed crypt in the merchant's district for the first few days you were in the city.

Bryden, a much older vampire who has apparently attempted repeated rebellion against your lord, has secured himself a position as a noble in the city and provided you with some information and contacts.

You doubt that it will come to much, but you look to Mobuion. "Is there any chance that we can disable or dispel these?"

He shakes his translucent head. [Eater-of-Skulls is not powerful enough to dispel it on his own, and neither you nor I have such skills.]

Blast. Well, there was nothing for it, then; you weren't leaving without your planned take. You move the unconscious people to the far side of the store and glance over the books and valuables, removing anything that catches your eye. Once you have a modest pile, you distribute the lighter items to your servants, place the rest into a convenient sack, and prepare to order your summons to take cover as you-

    >>7787510 >>7787548
-wait. The pawnbroker can obviously open the strongbox without a problem, and unless you miss your guess, the man lying naked against the wall is he. That presents an obvious solution. You move over to him and focus your will in your voice. "Open the strongbox."

I'm confused with these fairy names
    >> Undead Monstrosity 01/26/10(Tue)23:46 No.7787943
The man doesn't stir. You look at your imp. "Can you wake him up?"

It looks down uncomfortably. "Well, I, that is... hadn't really planned on it."

You sigh. How annoying. But you suppose you're in no incredible rush. "Go fetch something to awaken him, then." You raise your hand to your ear and attempt to contact Sheryl so that she can tell the sprite what to gather, but though you feel the tingle of magic activate there is no response to your words. Perhaps the earring isn't working?

Frustrated, you wave a hand at the imp. "Go!" It flies off.

You settle in to wait, and the minutes pass in silence. Even the broken lock on the door attracts no attention; luck must be with- or possibly Adept Vaesh is handling that again. It takes perhaps twenty minutes for Rafael to return with a small vial. "This'll wake 'em, Mistress."

You frown at it. "Sheryl was fine, and wearing her earring?"

The imp nods, looking puzzled. "Sure, Mistress."
    >> Undead Monstrosity 01/26/10(Tue)23:47 No.7787962
Well, that's annoying. Either the earring is defective, or it has limited range, or some other matter is at work here. Regardless, you have more pressing concerns. You empty the vial into the man's mouth, and he coughs awake a few moment later. "Wha-"

"Open the strongbox." You put all your will into your voice, and he moves before he even realizes what's going on. It takes him but a few seconds to place his hand on it and murmur a nonsense phrase, then turn a key he pulls from a nearby drawer.

He hardly has time to stiffen in shock before you strike him in the back of the head and he collapses to the floor. He's breathing, but it's shallow; you suspect that you may have killed him accidentally. Your lack of martial skill strikes again.

Leaving him for a moment, you pull the strongbox open the rest of the way. There are several small bags inside; each clinks with coins as you heft it. Just what you wanted. You quickly transfer each to your sack, then pause as you turn to leave.

What should you do with the man on the floor? He's seen your face, and might not live anyway... you've fed recently, but the beating of his heart still calls to you and it seems awfully practical. For that matter, the woman might be able to put something together- at least that she was drugged. With the guards at the warehouse telling a similar story, it could conceivably be traced to a common source somehow. If they both disappeared, it might look like they just cashed in and left the city.

    What will you do?

Cut open his throat with a knife and eat a little. Then place the knife in the woman's hands and hit her on the head with something hard, just to leave a dent. Then place the blunt object in the dead man's hands. Remove the empty lockbox so it looks like a simple robbery gone terribly wrong.

Transporting two limp bodies out of the city might be to much for Vaesh to do,but she can handle one. Slit the man's throat, take the empty lockbox and the passed out woman and her clothes. Make it look like she killed him, stole the lockbox. Hold her for maybe a day, eat her, then plop her body into the harbor. People will just assume Trudan got his revenge on the woman who, ultimately, stole from him.

Your spend a moment cursing yourself. You should have had the faeling disguise you, should have had the imp be the one to knock the pawnbroker out again, should have hidden yourself somehow... but it's too late now. Mistakes have been made; some you could have perhaps avoided, others not. You can dwell on them after you make your next move.

The more you think about it, the more leaving them alive seems like a bad plan. But carrying them both out of the city while also transporting the valuables you've stolen would be horribly awkward. Since the man is dying anyway, you'll just drain him and leave him here. You are about to open your mouth and clamp down on his neck when a better plan comes to you- you'll try to make it look like his lover killed him and fled. A flimsy story, but better than nothing. You point to her clothes and tell your servants to get her dressed, then move to the man.

A little quick bladework and his neck is a fountain of ambrosia. It's delicious enough that you almost don't stop when your imp reminds you to, but then you pull back. The plan won't work if there's no blood left.

After that, you wipe your face, throw a bit of cloth across the strongbox to hold it open, and lift it up. No problems thus far. All your selected valuables are quickly placed inside it, making a rather convenient container, and you lay the woman's body across its top. The resulting position would be utterly unbalanced and impossible for anyone without your absurd strength, but you manage to make it work.

As you leave, you look at the shade. "I don't suppose that you can fix the door?"

Eater-of-Skulls squeaks at you, and the apprentice shade nods. [He can. Not well enough to hold up to scrutiny, should they look for damage on the lock, but if no one checks it will be functional.] You nod. It'll have to do; better than nothing. "Do it."
    >> Undead Monstrosity 01/27/10(Wed)00:25 No.7788633
With that, you move through the streets in the darkness cloaked by faeling illusion. You're forced to make two trips over the walls, waiting in the darkness while the guards pass, but manage it eventually. When the woman begins to stir, you have the imp drug her a second time.

You drop the take back at your home and tell Sheryl to take inventory and communicate the results over her earring while you move off. You don't let her see the woman; some things should be kept separate from one another. You get most of the way to the cave before Sheryl's voice over the earring cuts off; it must be a distance thing.

In the cave, your prisoner is sleeping. There's only a single cell, so you open it and gently place the woman inside. She'll keep, you suppose. Though you know that your prisoner is awake, he doesn't say anything to you, and you don't bother to speak to him either before moving off.

Back at the house, you find that you've acquired nearly three hundred gold, half that in silver, several rather valuable-looking trinkets, and a fine dagger with a red jewel set into the hilt. Your also got a set of magical bells, which you are told by your servants will produce flashes of light colored differently based upon which bell is struck, as directed by the user. Excellent for entertainment, you suppose. You also have a book on the history of the region, a book on the nature of the aetheric planes, and a book on the theory of combat magic.

All that in one night; you're quite productive. Dawn is getting close, though, perhaps three hours off. What should you do before daybreak?

It occurs to you, perhaps belatedly, that you should perhaps establish some ground rules for what should and should not happen in your cave's prison. You order your air spirit to tell Blade that it should stop the prisoners from fighting one another or attempting escape, and send an earth spirit to separate their cell into two. It'll be a bit more cramped, but you imagine that they'll have bigger things to worry about. You can fix that later, anyway.

    >>7788720
Contemplating your old miniature gelatinous cube for a moment, you recall that you'd ordered the sprite to prepare the ingredients for one. Upon your inquiry, he quickly informs you that he has prepared everything. You tell him to set up everything that is necessary for its creation by tomorrow evening, and he assures you that it will be done.

    >>7788677
With that done, you go to the basement and spend a brief time flipping through the text on combat magic. It spends a lot of time on principles and very little on methods of application except to discuss their results, but you think that you can probably make some use of it, should you decide to put some serious time into learning blasting spells.

At the moment, however, binding is your focus, and you put in a couple more hours on your spell, managing to resolve one particularly thorny problem, before dawn.

As sunrise approaches, you hang the prism outside the basement on a whim, at the top of the stairs where the sun could hit it, and fetch a blanket and pillow. Perhaps you'll be able to sleep outside your coffin? You've never tried.

You await sunrise. You can feel it coming, as always, and when it finally hits a wave of exhaustion strikes you. You lean back on your blanket and pillow, letting sleep take you.

It doesn't. The minutes pass in silence, and before too long you hear the soft sound of ethereally beautiful harps echoing from the top of the stairs, even though the stone door. It must be quite loud when not so muffled. Sunrise has come, and you're awake to see- well, hear- it. You force yourself to stand, but it's difficult; your limbs feel pitifully weak, like a small child's, and each step you take seems the one which will bring you pitching forward into a collapse.

It is all you can do to move to your coffin, shove aside the lid, and let yourself fall inside. You don't even get it closed again before darkness takes you.

We should make sure they both have a toilet.

Create the cube, install it as a feature in the cave.

Practice mind controlling both captives at once. See if we even can or how much more difficult it is. Mass hypnosis would be a very useful trick.

We probably shouldn't let the woman speak to us. She'll probably guilt trip us fairly badly.

Once we're back have our shade and Eater-of-Skulls show us how to go about dismantling the ward, that'd be a very useful trick for us to learn.

Did the sprite get the message to our boyfriend?

How long until we have to meet him?
    >> Anonymous 01/27/10(Wed)01:01 No.7789200
Go about preparing the gelatinous cube. I'd also like us to check in our two prisoners, make sure they have food and water. Then work the binding spell, and maybe examine the ward on the box from the warehouse.

Again, I suggest we get the sprite working on those counterfeit magical tomes. I feel like a broken record, but it is good plan, we have the stuff for it, we had Sheryl pick it all up, and we have the sprite, who is a capable scribe. The idea is we keep stealing books from the currently unoccupied mage's library, copy them and then return them. This will allow us to expand our library while lessoning the chance someone will notice the books have gone missing. Just saying, we can do it and it would involve no investment in time on our part. Just a sprite working 24/7 and an air spirit for delivery.
    >> Anonymous 01/27/10(Wed)01:05 No.7789250
After going and practicing our mental control on the prisoners we need to consider what is to be done with our boyfriend. He is an epic warrior and we aren't really in the position to tangle with that. I suggest we use the faeling as an intermediary.

Speaking of the faeling, we need to call her and tell her thanks for trying to help us. Even though it might have been outside our expectations we are glad she is here and without her our unlife would be a great deal more difficult. Ask her if there is anything she wants that you could provide her. This faeling is possibly our most powerful servant yet and we need her to like us binding or not.

As for the boyfriend, I think we should begin accepting that he is now different from us and there will be no going back. This is something we have to do to live... one more thing that we didn't want to happen, but our love was obviously not strong enough in life. Even less so in death. We must find some way to get him off the trail.

You go upstairs and find the prism still hanging where you'd left it, balanced on a subtle wall-hook which you suspect once held a picture. You won't be able to position it so that it lights when the basement door is opened without a mirror or something, unfortunately, so you set the matter aside for now. You have other concerns.

    >>7789200 >>7789170 >>7789087
Specifically, the creation of a gelatinous cube is next on your to-do list. You order an earth spirit to craft a pit against one of the walls in your cave to keep it in, then spend several hours in a chamber near the entrance carefully boiling several different mixtures of herbs to the mimir's helpful accusations of incompetence. As the time nears midnight, the formula is finished. You leave it to simmer; the cube should be animate shortly before dawn.

The stench in the cooking room is terrible, anyway. It's fairly pungent. The woman in the other room has been complaining about it for hours to muttered responses from your first prisoner.

    >>7789200
With that done, you decide that you've been putting your sprite to other tasks long enough. You order him to set to copying one of the arcane tomes you're not using- the one on elemental animation- and tell you when he's finished. It will likely take him several days to do so, perhaps as long as a week; some of those diagrams looked exceedingly complex.

Before he sets to work, you inquire as to the possibility of an amnesia potion; he looks dubious. Unless you want to render the drinker insensible or simple, it seems that such things are highly unreliable, particularly in the long term. The closest he can come is a potion that will prevent memories from being formed for a short while after drinking it, which will hardly accomplish your purpose.
    >> Undead Monstrosity 01/27/10(Wed)01:31 No.7789616
    >>7789170
Your sprite successfully delivered your message, he assures you. He found your boyfriend several days away, on the obvious route from Rhiannon's castle. The note you'd written promised to meet your boyfriend in a week, and two nights have passed since then.

To pass the time, you decide to experiment with your mental control further. You repeat your earlier experimentation, attempting this time to control both of your prisoners instead of just one. Unfortunately, you meet with dismal failure; you can't focus your will on both of them at once with enough strength to compel. You know it's possible, as you've seen Rhiannon do it, but you don't seem to be able to grasp the trick.

The fact that you're distracted by constantly telling the new prisoner to be silent hardly helps. At least Steve, or Daniel, or whatever his name was, doesn't talk much anymore. You're not sure if that's a lingering effect of your mental manipulations or if he's just decided to be silent.

In any case, you do a bit of work on your binding spell while keeping one eye on the incubating cube, and eventually the pot lurches. It's animate. You move towards it with a grin, remembering your old cube, and-

-it lashes with a pseudopod for your hand, scoring it with acid. It stings quite a bit. You order it to stop, but it shows no signs of obeying. Startled, you back up. "Sahib, why won't the cube obey my commands?"
    >> Undead Monstrosity 01/27/10(Wed)01:32 No.7789633
The skull stares at you sightlessly. You'd swear that you hear laughter in its voice. "You thought that it would obey you? Why? Gelatinous cubes are mindless. They don't obey anything but their instincts."

"But I had one before that-"

"-that wasn't actually a gelatinous cube, if it followed orders," the mimir snaps. "You got what you asked for. Now deal with it."

This is seriously annoying. It's not what you wanted... but you suppose it'll have to do. You grab one of the larger pots and sweep the tiny ooze up in it, then empty it into the pit you'd prepared for its dwelling.

You have a small acid burn on your left hand, but it's nothing serious. The mimir has- well, not exactly betrayed you, but you certainly feel deceived. These summons are getting somewhat frustrating with their habit of not doing exactly what you want.

An hour or so is left before dawn. What will you do?

It remains silent for a minute, so you ask again. "Answer, mimir, and no more of your tricks. What would make an ooze obey me?"

A muttered curse precedes it answer. "An ooze would have to be ensorcelled for that to happen. Either affected with a specialized compulsion, or crafted using ingredients or a vessel specifically designed to result in an obedient creation. Obviously, you fool."

    >>7789687
You sigh. Could that be why your last... you don't know. You should focus on the present now. "I'm sick of your crap, skull." You loosen one of the cauldron's handles, your strength easily bending the metal. Then you slip it through the mimir's eye sockets until the skull dangles and call an earth spirit.

You bend over to the ooze's pit and hold the skull suspended above it. "Spirit, mold the earth so that this handle remains in place." It takes a few minutes over the mimir's shouted protests, but the stone shifts and eventually solidly holds the skull above the ooze.

You turn and leave. "Next time, endeavor to be more helpful. I'll be back next time I'm willing to put up with you."

You move to sit with them, and their conversation slows to a halt. Both look to you, and the faeling speaks. "Do you wish something of us, Lady?"

Waving away her comment, you shake your head. "No, not really. I just... thought I should tell you that I appreciate your help. Both of you. Adept, I was angry at first, but I know you meant well, and my unlife would be a great deal more miserable without people like you in it."

He informs you that the pawnbroker's place was discovered and completely ransacked by thugs and rivals working for the other bosses long before dawn, neatly covering your tracks on that matter. The warehouse was a different matter- the city guard were called in on that one, and apparently at least some of what you stole were legitimate goods for which the trader storing them is demanding recompense from the warehouse's owner if their return cannot be accomplished. The guard has launched an investigation, but a lot of investigations are running with the ongoing underworld conflict and Mobuion expects little to come of it.

    >>7790043 >>7790105 >>7790106
The night seems to be a good one for summoning, to you. The faeling's request from yesterday seems reasonable and she's proven herself highly useful, so you decide to try for another, one similar to her. You picture her in your mind, and let the image blur- black dress, blue skin, elfin features, black staff... as you chant, the face holding these qualities gradually comes into focus in your mind, until with a flash of light she appears before you just as you pictured her, strongly bound and curtsying as formally as Adept Vaesh.
    >> Undead Monstrosity 01/27/10(Wed)02:44 No.7790532
That was strange. You've never had a binding go that... cleanly, before. You almost knew exactly what would appear before it came. Is this some feature of the spell you hadn't previously known of, either due to lack of skill or lack of experience? Regardless, you have no complaints.

You walk your new faeling upstairs, and call for Adept Vaesh, who seems greatly pleased in spite of her formal bearing. She gives a respectful nod to the new arrival. "Sister, it is delightful to have you here. There is a great deal to do that your presence will make ever so much easier. I am Adept Vaesh."

The new faeling nods back to her in an almost mirrored fashion. But for the cut of her dress and slightly different facial features, they could truly be mirrors of one another. "Then I shall be Adept Lirran, here. I am honored to greet you."

You leave them to their introductions and go to find Sheryl, who you inform that she should go to the city when convenient and purchase relatively minor things for your servants, should their requests be reasonable. A mention that you trust that she will show discretion with your funds leaves her nodding, and you return to the basement.

You've had enough of having your best source of decent arcane advice be insolent and offensive. You focus on another mimir- a different one. It takes as long as ever, but when the flash comes it's hardly bound at all- not what you wanted. You dismiss it and redo the spell. This time, a cheerful skull pops into existence. When it sees you, it immediately begins chattering about vampire mages throughout history, somehow segues into a commentary on Itonian fashion, and shortly thereafter has somehow reached the mating habits of the common badger and firmly established itself in your mind as an exceedingly talkative and somewhat scatterbrained mimir.

But at least it's strongly bound and will strive to obey you because of it. You call your apprentice shade and ask it to fill in the new mimir on your recent activities, which at least keeps the skull occupied for a while.

With that done, your next project comes to mind- another scribe. The sprite has proven most useful, but his skill combination is rare in his type- they are not known for producing scribes. Still, you'll try anyway.

Chanting and candles follow, and eventually another sprite appears with a flash, but it's bound only weakly and you dismiss it. A second attempt brings the same results, to your frustration, and it's only on the third time that your mind forms a clear picture, as with the faeling, and you manage to successfully get a strong binding on the newly summoned sprite.

Yet when you ask about his skills, being a scribe is not one of them- this sprite is the more typical hunter, as evidenced by the tiny bow on its back. Frustrating, but you'll take it, you suppose.

Most of the night is spent, so you discard plans to return to the cave and instead focus on your binding spell. Your new mimir is distracting and distractable, but just as helpful as the old for all that. By the time dawn comes, you're fairly certain that another full night of work will bring it to the point where you can perform a test.

    ***

Yet another night. The meeting with your boyfriend creeps gradually closer. What should you do?

Visit the cave. Interrogate the prisoners about the Mimir and anything he might have told them. Work on your mental powers for several hours, both ability to command others and ability to telepathically communicate and/or influence their thoughts. Dismiss the old Mimir. Return and work on the binding spell until dawn provided no issues come up. Try to remember when the next shipment of silver from the mine will come through.

Dispatch the Imp with a message about important information to Bryden. We really will need help here, one way or another. But if all the other anons are against it I guess we can just be suicidal instead. Sigh.

You decide to begin the night with a trip to the cave. You move past the warling sentinel, which silently salutes, to the sounds of the mimir loudly talking. It appears to be telling some sort of tale about the stupidity of a past master to your prisoners.

Enough of that skull; you've put up with it for too long. You walk over to the pit above which it hangs as it pointedly ignores you and continues with its tale. "I've had enough of you. Begone." You wave a hand, and the mimir vanishes back to the aether from which it came.

The woman gasps. "Did you... did you kill him?"

It's easy to ignore that kind of foolishness. A quick mental order to silence, and she shut up before she says something which might actually be inclined to stir some sympathy in you.

    >>7790614 >>7790649
After a few minutes of mentally toying with your prisoners, you abandon them and return to your house. You're not going to learn much more unless you spend several nights on them, you suspect, and that will hardly be conducive to finishing your binding spell.
    >> Undead Monstrosity 01/27/10(Wed)03:16 No.7790836
That spell consumes your focus for the remainder of the night. When you think it is finally finished, with neither your mimir nor your shade able to point out any flaws, almost an hour is still left before dawn. Tomorrow will be the fifth night, and you are to meet your boyfriend on the seventh.

The thought of your boyfriend brings you more fear than ever before, where once it only brought hope. The more you think about him, the more convinced you become that he and his companions will be planning to destroy you. Should you meet him at all? Should you flee? Should you send someone in your stead, or set a trap?

Should you tell Bryden and Sarai that someone, a slayer of liches and dragons, is coming to town to look for and maybe kill his vampire girlfriend?

You don't know. But if you want to call on them for help, you should probably do so before dawn; Bryden at least is unlikely to appreciate being notified of such a threat any later than that. And what exactly would you say? How should you phrase it?

What should you do? You must make a decision.

I'm beginning to get highly suspicious about that faeling. It seems to be up to something, and I don't like it. Are fae the same sneaky bastards as they in folklore in this setting? If so, maybe they found some loophole in the binding and are working towards their own agenda?

Also we should send him on a total guilt trip and make him feel like all this is his fault, and that he failed to protect us. We should probably cry at some point. If he intends to stake us, we cann make a scene, cry out that he intends to murder us and our "unborn baby" and then run away. If the situation goes south, then we inform our fellow vamps.

That little girl died a little bit every time her prince ignored her in favor of more questan.

Then she died for real when a vampire sucked out her blood.

Then she became seriously bitter and depressed when she was tortured for weeks on end and her prince didn't rescue her.

Now that prince finally shows up and is expecting... what? Us to lay down and die? A happy ending? We can't know, and we really don't care.

I doubt we will get any more consensus than we already have. Too many people simply fixated on the idea that he is still our loving boyfriend who will cure us of our affliction with his manly essence. Not enough people who understand that as an undead abomination you need backup plans even if you hope things go well.

Thoughts run through your mind, tumbling one after another.

You can't meet your boyfriend alone. If he tries to kill you, you need to be ready. You should contact Bryden, Sarai, anyone else you can get your hands on and tell them to be ready in case something goes wrong.

But... If you tell Bryden, what would he do? Send minions after your boyfriend? Try and get him to attack the vampire lord who made you all in another of his rebellions? As much as you feel like you need help, you just can't see Bryden helping you for your own sake, and can't think of a reason that doing things your way would be in his interests- even if you knew what your way was! He has his own motives, and they're not yours. Sarai, likewise; she might be friendly, but she's not going to put her neck on the line for you without a very compelling reason that you simply can't provide. They're hardly the sort of allies that you need.

well DM's job is to sort it out if there's no consensus
    >> Undead Monstrosity 01/27/10(Wed)04:24 No.7791485
With a laugh, you decide: You'll face the music alone. Oh, your servants might be with you, but you'll be the one running things. Tell anyone else, and the decision making might leave your hands, and you won't let that happen. Your boyfriend, your past, your problem. You won't let him reach the city and cause a panic like Bryden fears; you'll handle this with your wits and your emotions, and win or lose on your own merits.

You lie back on the roof of your home and stare at the stars. Win or lose, you'd thought. What would win this for you? Vague dreams of becoming human again are too wispy for you to grasp or really believe. The thought that your boyfriend might love you even as a vampire is too impossible- he's spent too much of his life smiting evil. Unless he can fix your condition completely, he'll merely see destroying you as putting to rest the body of his beloved, who died more than a month ago when bitten in an alley.

The more you think on it, the more you realize that you're circling around the same idea again and again.

A win would be to get your ex-boyfriend, because he's not your current boyfriend in any meaningful sense, to go away.

If he had come a month ago, you'd have embraced him with open arms. But you've been through too much. Your new thoughts and dreams are full of darkness, power, and blood, and he has no part in them except as the one who failed to save you long ago.
    >> Undead Monstrosity 01/27/10(Wed)04:25 No.7791492
But you need a clean cut. You need to be free of your past. You're going to meet with him, face to face, and tell him your story as best you can... at least, the parts that are relevant... and break up with him.

The sheer boldness of your plan strikes you, and for a moment you are convinced that it's lunacy, but you shake it off. If you don't get this done, then one way or another it'll be the end of you- on your ex's sword as he chases you to the ends of the earth or by your own hand as you walk into the sun, pining for what you've lost. The fact that he faces dragons and liches doesn't matter, the fact that you're hardly a child by vampire standards doesn't matter, the fact that you know all of a half-dozen spells doesn't matter.

You'll face him alone, and you'll declare yourself a true vampiress, a dark sorceress like you once aspired to be.

And one way or another, things will end.

((This concludes tonight's Vampire Bride Quest. Tune in next time- tomorrow, 1200-1500 and continuing for many hours!- for what may or may not turn out to be the exciting conclusion!))

I admit, this quest has taken a turn for the more standard over the past few threads. But no one can sustain continual emotional trauma forever without breaking or becoming numb to it, and I didn't think I could write the first in a manner which would remain interesting and appealing to play.

That said, even at this point I was uncertain how the last decision here would turn out. Even now you could have gone for a "please love me even though I've done such horrible things" end. Our nameless protagonist is pretty bloodstained at this point, so "I'm still trying to be good and love you" was pretty much out the window as an option. But there are much worse roads that you could be walking; every thread it seems like at least one person is urging for the total psychopath route.

Yeah, there are all those legends about vampires carrying off women, turning them into vampires and then marrying.
Why not do that with the roles reveresed.

This would keep the people wanting the marriage happy and the people wanting absolute power happy.

    Indeed.

We meet with the BF one last time without pretensions. If he can turn us human again - or even, if he's willing to live with us despite our being a vampire - then we take him back and go back to being lovers.

If he's unwilling to accept us, or help us to try and turn human again, then the relationship is over.

And if he attacks us despite our overtures and attempts to help/warn him, then we feel betrayed, and might just try to eat/drain/turn him.
