He grabs a girl, Christ she can't be more than ten, and pulls her close. Her tear streaked face is turned towards you, as the priest leans down to stage-whisper in her ear, clearly audible to you in the quiet street even the solid 30 yards away that you are. "Don't be frightened child. Death here is not a true death, merely a waking from a terrible dream. Once you're away you'll be safe from the tempters and corrupters here seeking only to gain company on their downward path."Her sounds kind. Almost Fatherly. Like he truly believes every word.

He looks happy as he raises hands to the sky "There is yet hope! By casting off these tainted mortal coils we can yet be saved. Since God will not come to us, we shall have to go to him. It's a leap of faith, but all his faithful shall land safely. Even those who have doubts need only a guide. He spoke onto me myself and imparted these truths, as he did brother Clarent." This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus, that spirit is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world."

You don't hesitate. "DAVE!" You yell."On it!" He responds, drawing his revolver. You run to the side of the stage. Two routes up, there's a sort of ramp that the rest of them use, but it's also a choke-point for them to use against you.You could also go straight, and end up right in the middle of the hostages. There's a bit of trash heaped up, the footing doesn't look completely sure, but you think you can make it and be on them NOW.>Go, acrobatics check or cover?
>>19745957So is the trash heaped up option the same as the "middle of hostages" option? If so, do not do that. We are trying to protect that, getting in the middile of them will lead to fast deaths.Otherwise acrobatics check
>>19745980Agreeing with this guy, we want to usher them away and prevent the cultists from approaching, not get in the middle of them and have them be shot.
>>19745957Wait, shit, Acrobatics check takes us to the HOSTAGES, doesn't it?Disregard >>19745967 I'm a moron.
>Uh, THEY'RE in the middle of the hostages, and are less enthusiastic about shooting their own people.
>>19746064Oh. I thought they had them surrounded
>>19746064Oh. Well then, goin' back to ACROBATICS CHECK!
>Beat a 50.
rolled 84 = 84>>19746093
rolled 8 = 8>>19746093
>>19746103So yeah...I think I beat 50 :D
rolled 7 = 7>>19746093This will go poorly.
>>19746105If that last roll was bad, we could still of failed. Right now though we're at a cool 33.
rolled 41 = 41>>19746093In the name of the Lord let this battle be wonGive us an Acrobatics check that can block out the sun
>Important phone call. back in five.
rolled 13 = 13You quickly launch yourself over the trash-heap and into the middle of the hostages. Elsie and Dave meanwhile take out a cultist each the remaining members of the group whirl to face you, and then the others, unsure of what to make of the new situation. One of them recovers quickly and trys to club you with his rifle.>beat my roll.
rolled 83 = 83>>19746282Oh crap
rolled 90 = 90>>19746282Come on fail dice be useful for once.
rolled 19 = 19>>19746282The dice really do hate us.

Somehow I am not surprised.
>>19746295Oh god not that joke again...
>>19746295Damn, not even invoking rap battles seems to appease these dice
>>19746282Dammit AC-Guy, why must you be blessed with luck in the die, but so little in life?Guess we're getting a broken nose after this.
>>19746316>I'm tempted to go to Vegas. Well, back to Vegas.>But without Dave this time.
>>19746333What happened the first time?
>>19746345>I'd rather not talk about. Partly because it was ridiculous and terrible, and partly because it was so fucking insane I don't think anybody would believe me if I told the story.
>>19746333You'd be mixing dice and life. I'm not sure what would happen, but I bet it would be you winning big, just to lose it all.
>>19746354These are the best stories. Anyhow yes, go back to Vegas and obtain riches.
>>19746354Let me guess, Dave was on the roof the whole time?
>>19746362>At one point, I was dragged into an alleyway by a pack of wild dogs.>This isn't a joke or a reference, I actually had to punch my way out of a snarling wall of DOG.
rolled 33 = 33You try to block the incoming strike, and are completely unsuccessful, since you were slightly shakier on the landing than you thought. As the guy steps back out of punching range after delivering his blow, one of his friends attempts the same from the other side.>beat my roll.
rolled 32 = 32>>19746381
rolled 16 = 16>>19746381Rollin
rolled 20 = 20>>19746381Still awake....somehow, despite being on the east coast

>>19746389>>19746391>>19746404We actually pulled it off.
>>19746413I know, I'm surprised too.
>>19746422Why is Deadpool rolled up into a ball like Samus?
>>19746437Seriously, you don't know about calling 60s Spiderman Deadpool?
>>19746447did my post really leave any doubt that I knew about it? I'm having a horridly off day.
As he steps in to deliver a blow, you calmly side-step, and then deliver a brutal chop to his trachea. then you take his rifle out of his considerably more pliant hands."Glrgh!" He protests."No." you respond. "Mine now." And then you bring it down as a club so hard you feel the wooden stock break. Then you draw your gun, and a third guy's head explodes behind you as Elsie takes another shot. Only three hostile left now.A lot of things happen at once. You get your first real look at what they've been doing up here. You see a dozen children with their throats slit, and several men who clearly tried to fight back, having been stabbed to the point of mutilation to ensure they stayed down. there's a woman who was clearly pregnant before her demise, clearly treated all the rougher for daring to bring a new soul into this world. You feel nauseous. But somewhere deep inside of you, something dark and terrible begins to take root.Deep down, Alex Raston learns to hate.>I'm gonna have to end the thread there for now. I'll see you guys hopefully later this week.
rolled 84 = 84>>19746487Damn ok. See you next time AC-Guy.Rolling for awesomeness of next thread
>>19746487Alright then. See you whenever the next thread is around.
>>19746487>And then you bring it down as a club so hard you feel the wooden stock break.Ouch.Seriously, that's just... wow. That had to HURT.And g'night AC-Guy!
>>19746487Very well; I'm falling over in my chair anyway.Though my body and mind may not permit me to attend another quest live, know that I shall hound the archives and follow this quest to the end. This truly is an epic tale. Bravo!
>>19746521Wuss. I'm East Coast and you don't see ME complaining! (living literally a hundred and fifty yards from work pays off yet again!)
>>19746539FFFFFFFFFFFF- I'M ALWAYS TOO LATE
