Brought to you by CreepTreats(tm)! The tasty snack your zergling will love!TG QUEST!!!Last thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/19572867/Day: 4Current Objectives: Talk to confederate base staff. Acquire enough terrazine and jorium for Tosh to begin training Spectres for us.Fleet Location: Orbiting Kolt IV, Confederate Black Ops Facility.Inventory: http://pastebin.com/HGsJUZZbDescriptions: http://pastebin.com/UpKiRZnh
>>19599622From the last thread, we discovered that the KO'd Confeds discovered a large fleet of low-energy ships jumping through the system. It is highly possible that the Psi-bird that we released in the last threat will be detected by the Dyles entity, which assimilates people by means of psionic parasites. Since we don't want to deal with psionic parasites, I think we should salvage everything as fast as possible, erase all traces of our presence, then skedaddle. If we're close by to Dyles' territory, we do NOT want to be here when he investigates.
CreepTreats are poor quality. I prefer Zergtarts.
I say we glass the former base site with our ships' batteries, then we GTFO. We do have all the buildings up with us, right?
>>19599622Wait, how is it day 4?Didn't we just get here?
>>19599622Now that the failsafes have been deactivated, let's beam up the Science Facility and its add-on.Has HK-50 found anything else of interest to us?If not, beam out our troops, set the base reactor to critical overload, and beam up.Once everything is secure, warp the task force to the safety of the interstellar void.
>>19599687Codeki, shut the hell up!!! You'll get our sponsorship pulled!!!>>19599695Everything salvageable, yes.Where are you moving to?
>>19599695Making a huge crater where there was not one might attract unwelcome attention. We should wipe the computers on the base for sure. Make sure we don't leave any traces of technology, and take pains to ensure that our warp jumps can't be traced.
Seriously. Take whatever's of value, blast the rest into a smoking nuke-like crater, and transit to the void between the stars. While we gather our information and figure out where the fuck we are in the timeline, we can see about what our next move will be and hopefully recruit the dudes from the base. For the record, I am suggesting that we stay as far away from this canon's Zerg and the like as we can. Swoop in to places with stuff we can use, loot the hell out of it, and scoot out. Everyone who comes on board (including our fleshy people!) gets a full scanning for infestations.Tosh will probably have a better idea of what's going to be good options once he and the Command Crew go over the (Zerg Quest) logs.Double rolls where appropriate.
>>19599715Hmm.... if we move to Redstone III to get the Jorium, we will probably encounter KMC forces there. The Starcraft wiki says the planet was abandoned due to Zerg activity that started up in Starcraft 2; however, with no Brood War and no Second Great War, it is entirely possible that the KMC will still be there carrying out mining operations. Bel'Shir (terrazine planet) will likely still house the Tal'darim sect of the Protoss, who will fight any invaders to the death. Especially Terrans. If they've rejoined Khas, they will still probably attack us on principle.
>>19599715Okay, everything salvageable has been beamed up.Clean up evidence of our presence at the facility, by initiating an orbital bombardment from the All Under Heaven and making the facility look like it was hit by multiple nukes.Warp the task force out of the system into interstellar space. We need Tosh to go over the star maps we recovered, and identify another likely place where we can get StarCraft technology.
>>19599770(cont.)If we make a big enough racket on Redstone-III, the puppet government KMC may direct huge fleets to take care of us. Or even worse, request assistance from the Swarm once they see alien-looking vessels starting to take potshots at their ships; if they've formed the alliance with the new Swarm, they'll be giving a tribute of minerals/vespene every so often, which will encourage them to reinforce profitable colonies. We'll need to be very discreet on Redstone.
>>19599816What if instead of Redstone, we check out one of the other prospective planets indicated on the star map we recovered?Arguably they may be safer, since if they were on the outskirts of the Confederacy, and the conflict with VoidGate is now in full swing, the outer colonies will be ignored in favor of major Terran worlds.
The All Under Heaven executes something it was quite proficient at doing in its former life as the Executor, glassing the Black Ops facility under the only thing that remains is a smoking crater and a melted cliff face. With everything of value packed away, the fleet begins activating its various hyperspace, warp, and FTL drives, exiting the solar system in favor of deep space. While the Command Crew decides its next course of action, do you wish to have Vitun talk to the prisoners? Most are clean of cranial implants, except for, of course, the Ghost. Doc Lazarus is standing by with orders to operate.
>>19599715MetaOp, I was wondering, can we identify the Ghost? Is it just a generic Terran Ghost?
>>19599622We zerg quest now.Are we replicating the fuck out of Red-generic and our beam out stacks? If not, do that.If so, keep doing that.Do we have replication databases for weapons and armor?e.g. Personal Armor from X-com, + Probability sheaths from our SMAC team, + Kinetic barriers from Mass Effect, + Motorised parts from Fallout armor, could combine well.As for guns, Plasma Shards from SMAC are "Xcom Heavy Plasma that doesn't take elerium to make". And for a less precise approach, the Nukes from the MIs or the Megacrash Launcher from 8-bit are good options for ruining everything. On a less personal level, what can our Hercules, Nyx, and Shipyard massproduce? We might as well keep them working on whatever is useful, especially if it's a construction ship or a resource-gathering ship.
>>19599853True. We might want to ask Tosh about all the sites where he located Jorium and Terrazine, then correspond those planets with any planetary data ANON might have in its database. If we can correlate common factors between those planets, perhaps we can create a set of planetary characteristics criteria that can predict which worlds in the database could possibly have Jorium/Terrazine stores aside from Redstone and Bel'shir.
>>19599868Have him cast "Enhanced Diplomacy" to boost his already awesome diplomacy score and talk to them.
>>19599868Have Tosh go with Vitun, unless he's needed to show Lazarus how to remove the implant. He can probably relate to them, answer some questions as he's from a version of their government. Also, use double rolls.
>>19599868First, have the All Under Heaven have its two replicators begin replication of RED-2-Generic and EBO Cortical Stacks.Second, have Vitun provide Doc Lazarus with a Double Roll, and Tosh to brief the doctor on the Ghost implants he'll be removing. Then remove them. Then have Tosh, Vitun, and Star-Lord negotiate and try to recruit the base personnel. Use a Double Roll on this as well.
>>19599868I say we send Spike and Douglas with Vitun also. Never hurts to have a charismatic bounty hunter and a former detective there to help out with talking.
>>19599907We may also want Doc Lazarus and any other medical personnel working with him to be outfitted with some Psi-armor in case things go south with the Ghost. The restraints will probably prevent any physical harm, but any psionic backlash could be disastrous.
rolled 15, 59 = 74>>19599881He is an asian fellow, according to the memories of the scientists, his name is Specialist Erics.Doc Lazarus begins work on extracting his psi-dampener and various other nasty little bits of metal in his brain...
LOOT GOALS FOR ZERG QUEST:A. Get the Terran Tech treeB. Get some JoriumC. Get some TerrazineFor A., we need to find a typical terran military base. In a typical Starcraft universe there's hundreds (if not thousands) of skirmishes over resources between small groups of Terran, Protoss and Zerg forces. For B., find places without Zerg. For C., find places without Zerg.
rolled 22, 56 = 78>>19600044A close call is had when the patient almost passes away due massive internal hemorrhaging, however a freak streak of luck manages to allow the Doc to staunch it in time for the operation to finish and Lyla to dose up the Ghost with some healing magic.Virtun and a large group of his associates stroll down to the Containment Bay...

>>19600017Can't we anti-magic field on the Ghost?
ANON, have all task force scanners on alert. If there's a ship within 10 light-years of us, I want to know about it before they know we're here.
>>19600088"Colonel Garrick Theitju. Serial number 562578-A," the base CO states before Vitun can even speak."Well that takes care of introductions. Greetings, I am Vitun Lartiet, a humble priest of Desna. Sorry for the rough handling, but we thought you were infested by the Zerg. We had to be sure you were clean before speaking and even then... well... normally it'd be in a far more comfortable place."The Colonel doesn't respond, continuing to stare at the group in front of him as the others mill around behind him, the neurozine wearing off."Colonel, you seem to think you are a prisoner, and I assure you that's not true at all," Vitun continues. "We're just following quarantine procedures.""Do I have tentacles growing out of my ass?" the Colonel shoots back. Spike rolls his eyes."You know damn well it's never that obvious," the bounty hunter states. "Quit being a dick. We just checked your base logs. You were effectively stranded down there. Now do you want our help or not? I'm sure living the rest of your lives alone in a jungle is FINE way to handle things."The Colonel's shoulders slump."...yes."
>>19600206Well, first things are to ask if he knows where we might find Terran Military that need rescuing.Next things next: What sources of Jorium and Terrazine does Tosh know of that wouldn't have zerg nearby it?
>>19600206Your cooperation is thoroughly appreciated. Now, if you don't mind our asking, have you been in contact with any other bases? We are currently conducting an... evacuation of sorts.
>>19600206Good. Now we can see if they're willing to work for us.ANON, can we find a Terran communications satellite? If we can get evidence that the Confederacy is dead, it may become easier to recruit these people.
>>19600279>>19600289"We haven't heard from any of our other outposts since we were given the order to clamp everything down and stay hidden. You're not Confederacy. Who are you?"
>>19600362We're some of the last humans alive in this sector. >Show information from ANON on the fall of the Confederacy.
>>19600362We are the Transpace Guard, an accurate description of us would be "dimensional police."We have currently come to this universe on an expedition to gather resources.
>>19600362"Let's just say...we're a private interest."If they were ordered to clamp down when the Combine turned on the Confederacy, they won't have information useful to us; all of their intel will be stale. We should see if they're willing to join now.ANON, can we get a communication link to one of the Terran comm-sats? Evidence of the fall of the Confederacy and the Terran surrender to the Zerg may help convince the Colonel to join us.
Best places to look for Terran stuff would be the orbits of the planets in the Sara and Antiga systems, and also the planet Braxis.Sara and Antiga had the crap glassed out of them by the Protoss, but there may still have ships in orbit.Braxis had outposts. Might still be some there.Bel'shir has Lost Temple, THE most popular multiplayer map, and also has Terrazine. Going there might find us something. If we're going to check them, for the love of god warp a cloaked, psi-shielded ship in first and check the primary planets for creep or large Hive structures. If you see any, get the FUCK out.
>>19600392>>19600418>>19600432Star-Lord, Spike, and Vitun all speak at once."We're the Trans-""We're the last-""We're a private-"They stop and look at each other before trying again."We're a private in-""-survivors of-""Transpace Guard..."They stop and look at each other again."We're the last survivors in this region of a private interest group called the Transpace Guard," Virtun finally says. "We're the only humans you're going to meet out here that aren't infested or under Zerg Dominion. I hate to break it to you, but the Confederacy is no more. That may be a lot to swallow, but... well... here."Spike slides a datapad with the requisite information through the quarantine lock."That oughta give you some nice bedtime reading," he nods. The Colonel takes the datapad and thumbs through it. "Can I have some time to look through this?"
>>19600512Sure. We'll give him a couple hours. Not like he's going anywhere.
>>19600469That sounds like our best bet.Better stop by the glassed planets first, I doubt anyone would be lingering around there.
>>19600512"Take your time."As hilarious as that was, we can't forget that we're in Zerg country, we can't stay here. Make another warp jump of the task force to 20 light-years from the edge of the Shakuras system. That place should be abandoned, and somewhat safe for us, for a little while.
Oh, can we have someone design a giant top-hat and monocle for MechaGodzilla?
>>19600538The Zerg recently embarked upon a program of reclaiming planets glassed during the VoidGate Conflict.Going to those planets is a very bad idea!
>>19600512Might as well. Keep a close eye on the cell and what the Colonel and/or his staff is doing, though. It never hurts to play it safe.In the meantime, we should see what we can do about the Jorium/Terrazine situation. Someone earlier suggested sending a psi-shielded vessel with cloak capabilities to Bel'shir to see if there are Protoss or Zerg currently there. We may want to do the same for Redstone III.In addition, I propose that we have Tosh work with ANON's planetary database of the Starcraft canon and some of our scientists to analyze the planets that he knew had some Jorium and/or Terrazine reserves on. If we can ascertain a common element to those plaents, we may be able to augur for remote sites that may contain Jorium and/or Terrazine and no Zerg or Protoss.
>>19600469Here's another place that I completely forgot like a moron.New Folsom Prison. It's a prison for dangerous terran prisoners and good fucking LORD does it have some military in it. It's got Secret Confederate Base written all over it.So that's got you 5 places you can search for Terran gear, two of which are Tosh-specific, and two of which got Glassed.
>>19600638...Well never mind then.How about Bel'Shir?
>>19600469Sara and Antiga, as well as Braxis, were conquered by the Zerg, and used as primary hatchery and manufacturing planets in this timeline. The Protoss Empire has consolidated and is as strong as ever; Bel'Shir will have a full Protoss defense force there. These are not good planet suggestions.
>>19600629If this is not done we are not Elegen/tg/entalmen
>>19600629What? I thought we were going with giant shades and a cape that flutters in the cosmic wind.
>>19600757We'll glue the shades to his chest. He can wear both sets.
>>19600757Guys when did we loot ArtisianLord? We'd better give him back before Cerebrate Anon gets angry.
http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Dead_Man%27s_Rocklawless planet far from Dominion space.Might find some stuff there.
"If Bel'Shir or Redstone not be an option, de next best places are de worlds Cerion and Tesbuj. But I don't got much information on dem save they be on the fringes of Umojan space," Tosh says.
Wait, what's wrong with Redstone?
>>19600888>>19600863Do we have anything that could check if a planet is Zerg'd without revealing its presence?>>19600910Zerg b there.any zerg held planet will probably notice our stuff warping in. We want to check if a planet's zerged before even trying to go there, and if it is, we gtfo.
>>19600910The Kel-Morian Combine never left because the Brood War never happened. And now that the Combine works for the Zerg, there's going to be Zerg there.
>>19600888"Tosh, what about New Fulsom Prison? Or other Confederate military bases or black ops facilities?"According to the archives, a lot of these places might have been abandoned by the Confederacy, and the Combine might not have had time to reclaim them yet."
>>19600938Well, not necessarily Zerg there. They mostly left the Morians alone and buy minerals from them. And if need be, our ships massively overpower the zerg.
>>19600888Hopefully they're fringe enough for our purposes. We need to move fast, because the longer we dawdle the greater the risk of detection.Jump to a light minute from Cerion and prepare to scan?
>>19600962"Dere might be some tings worth takin' from New Folsom, ya. But dere be no terrazine or jorium dere."
>>19600888Hmm. Umoja was flattened by the Swarm in this canon, and Kerrigan made it her seat of power for a while. But if we can't find any other sources of Jorium or Terrazine, it might be worth scouting out. But if there's a notable Zerg presence there, we may have to reconsider our Spectre plans. Dead Man's Rock might be worth the trip. No real major power will care about privateers getting their stuff stolen, and we might even be able to buy some buildings from them. We'd need a considerable sum of minerals to do so, however.
So:CerionDead Man's rockNew FolsomTesbujRight, we have plan A. Need to scout them as stealthily as possible.
>>19600999ANON, do our beam transporters have the capacity to beam up the terrazine and jorium into our cargo holds, or will they need to be refined first? If they need to be mined and refined, we'll need to go to New Fulsom to get a Command Center and some SCV's to build the gas extractors and refiners.
>>19601076The capacity is there, but you'll need SCVs and the specialized refining facilities aboard a Command Center to do anything useful with them. Also Tosh recommends not transporting the Terrazine. It can be unpredictable in its unrefined state.
>>19601249Better check out Dead Man's Rock first I suppose. If the pirates and smugglers survived the events of zerg quest, they probably still have SCVs we can either buy or take by force.
>>19601249Okay."Tosh, we need SCV's and Command Centers if we're going to get that jorium and terrazine."We have 4 planets to scout, and 4 Protoss Observers.Send 1 Observer to the edge of each system, and have it begin scanning for Zerg, Terran, or Protoss presence. If it's clear, we warp in the Task Force and take everything we can.Let's not waste time.
>>19601268If they're still alive, any chance of hiring them?I mean this doesn't really seem like a universe anyone human would want to be in.
>>19601288Well, I don't know about not wasting time... It will take your Observers a while to reach each area, scan it, and report back given how spread out each target area is. You can expect a report from Dead Man's Rock in 6 hours, a report from New Folsom in 12, and the reports from Umojan space in two days. Proceed?
rolled 63, 57, 98, 57, 79 = 354>>19601491Do it.
rolled 19, 4, 23, 85 = 131>>19601491Your Observers set out...
>>19601491check all local com frequencies, both civilian and military.
>>19601491Don't we have ships that can warp to and from those places? In those 6 hours we could keep making RED-generic, Cortical stacks, and whatnot.Does the Kolt system have the equivalent of an Oort Cloud (a place 1 light year out with sparse debris)? We could go there and get some materials for our manufacturing.Shipyards and whatnot might as well keep manufacturing whatever DROOONES! they can.And if we can't make DROONES!, teach them to make DROONES!. Don't need any manufacturing being idle when it could be bolstering our forces.Rest of our crew could get some rest, and welcome our Confederates into their new lives as Meta operatives.
>>19601491I don't like it, but we don't have a choice.
>>19601547Can we use my rolls as luck rerolls?
>>19601547Arse.Well, now we need to use something else that can scout. What about Al'keshes?
>>19601547D'oh!If we're waiting for 2 dayswe should've used the luck doublerolls. We really should remember to use luck doublerolls. Can we use luck doublerolls? No? Blast.
rolled 3, 70, 85, 73 = 231>>19601522
>>19601547MetaOP, please don't do such important actions on the vote of a single post. You didn't even wait a minute before doing it, and in the process losing us 3 irreplaceable Observers.
>>19601619It would at least have given us the chance to assign Virtun's multiple rolls
>>19601547Fucking shit.We could have shaved some of the time by using the Al'Kesh to move the Observers around, since the Al'Kesh have a slightly faster hyperspace drive. Now we also need to figure out a way to replace those Observers we lost. Can our Advanced Engineering Bay and the Guru's, Psionicists, and Mustadio construct us another Observer?
>>19601671I know of a Protoss Taskforce at Ahenobarbus who will be getting their ass kicked shortly. We could steal some Observers from them.>not metagaming at all, lol
>>196016192 votes, and from the original idea, it was 5 minutes. But I'll try to give you guys more time in the future.Your Observer sent to New Folsom confirms Terran signatures on the planet and no Protoss or Zerg in system, then attempts to retreat after it wanders too close to a sentry missile turret and takes a few nasty hits. Unfortunately, the attempt fails and it is destroyed.Your Observer sent to Dead Man's Rock doesn't even get that far. It arrives, reports back it detected Terrans, then was blasted apart by a missile. The Umojan probes have yet to report back yet.
Is Cerebret anon as sue? Also,This is why we need a mecha godzilla
>>19601730As the guy that posted the original idea, I was writing up a response to use the Al'Kesh to ferry the Observers in order to cut down the posted travel times, when you went ahead and did it.
>>19601730We need to scout Dead Man's Rock. What've we got that can do that?I know we've got a rather large fleet-of-stuff. Can we strap an RVF to an Al'kesh or somesuch?New Fulsom having Terrans makes it a good place to head off to.
>>19601730Hm, depending whether or not they serve the Zerg, we might be able to forge an alliance.I mean it is my understanding that in this universe, it is a bad place to be a Terran?
>>19601730If we can, collect the parts. We can try to repair them>>19601774Considering nearly all Humans are infested or slaves, yes. It is.
>>19601730Did it transmit any usable intel at all, such as structures, comm traffic?Prepare the task force to warp to one light-day out from Dead Man's Rock. We'll have the RVF-25 with it's Incursion hologram and ECM active scout the base.
>>19601639Vitun needs to be nearby to provide the luck reroll.Your third probe to Testbuj does not report back.Your fourth to Cerion reveals Terran signatures, but none Protoss or Zerg. Initial recon shows the planet is home to a small colony with a basic militia. Tapping into local communications, it seems the planet was forgotten after the fall of Umoja, and the inhabitants are fine with that, though they fear rediscovery by the Swarm that destroyed their motherland.
>>19601774The largest Terran government exists entirely at the Swarm's mercy. Though the KMC still has some holdings aside from Tarsonis, the Korpulu sector is quite devoid of human life given the huge conflicts with the Protoss and Zerg and VoidGate. It's not a great place to live if you're a human, to say the least. Some pirates from Dead Man's Rock may be working as mercs for the KMC, but there's bound to be some pirates doing nothing but drinking the time away.
>>19601837Cerion sounds like a good start.
Anyone know of any place where we might be able to find Observer wreckage, other than the ones we just lost?Aiur has all the protoss and they are not that interested in diplomacy.Shakuras has zerg colonies. There's a large TOSSFIGHT going on.>Kerrigan's thoughts sound like a spooked cat's as she tells us that her forces just destroyed a Protoss observer near Umoja.Tesbuj status: Zerg.Fulsom status: CleanCerion status: CleanDead rock status: Needs more info. Send ships to get more info y/y?
>>19601837Change of plans. The Cerion colony might be more open to new colonization prospects, away from a galaxy controlled by Zerg and Protoss.Have the task force warp to 1 light-day out from Cerion. Also, this means 2 days have passed. Our RED-2-Generic and EBO Cortical Stacks would have been done a day and a half ago. We can begin implanting and injecting now. Also, hasn't research finished yet?
In addition, shortly after you receive your report, the Observer sends back a transmission it detected while scouting.>"STOP! Brethren, do not flee. We undertook this mission to destroy the filthy, creeping Zerg, and they have come to us. Thank them, warriors, for offering their veins for us to cut. We shall indulge them. Ahenobarbus shall not be known as the place Tassadar's fleet was destroyed, but where it proved its resolve. And to my brothers who have taken up arms against me, I urge you to reconsider. The Zerg are a blight on the galaxy. They seek to consume us, as they consumed the gods before us. They are not harmless or eccentric. They are devious beasts, and any thinking being must be arrayed against them. They are the enemy of all life."
>>19601933Yesyes we know. We're reading the other thread. Strap anything with long-range scanners to anything that can warp and have it check out Dead Man's Rock while the rest of our stuff goes to Cerion for a looting run.
Lets send a flight of 3 Hiigaran Frigates and a destroyer to Testbuj. We need cheap disposable non-H4X units to avoid contamination. construction should begin immediately and end shortly.Resource collectors and a carrier should also be made and local abandoned systems should be mined.
>>19601933...Yeah we don't want to get involved.
>>19601957Tesbuj? ... But that could be really risky. All we know is that the Observer didn't report back. Better to check out Dead man's rock first.
>>19601954>>19601799From the destruction of the Observer from Dead Man's Rock, it is probably safe to say that the Pirates have the whole system on lockdown and are ready to blast any Zerg or Protoss or funny-looking ships to bits. And they may also have a detector network to prevent incursions by cloaked Zerg or Protoss. We may want to start with Cerion first, as they're the least armed and the least capable of detecting us.
>>19601957Testbuj?We're Meta as fuck, we're reading the Zerg Quest thread while we're on the bridge of the Oncoming Storm using our Meta Comm Array to have a connection open to 4chan.
We should get nearby. We could attempt to teleport out some of the dying protoss to rescue them. How far can we grab them from?
>>19601933I'm getting the feeling that MetaOp wants us to interfere with this fight. What's the range on our asgard teleporters? Maybe we could hyperspace in and grab Tassadar and some of his forces before they're killed. It WOULD solve our Protoss Tech problems.
>>19601838Hopefully Mira Han is there drinking the days awayShe is fairly open to making a deal
>>19602001Man we should check a few threads over, I hear there's a really neat thread being run by a guy named "MetaQuest OP"
>>19601957If the Observer didn't report back, we must assume that it was either shot down by hostile Umojan remnants or whatever Zerg forces are garrisoned there. We don't want anyone discovering we're looting this canon, and we don't want to send an armed fleet into a system that is possibly on high alert. We'll deal with that later.
>>19601954Dead Man's Rock has a detecter grid, anything we send there is going to trigger a hostile response from the pirates there.Sending in some more ships without the intent to pacify the rock is foolish.
>>19602008Save the Protoss? But aren't they in kind of a 'kill all humans' state of mind?
>>19602023Can we send a communication transmission to them?
>>19602024more of a "Kill all Zerg" state of mind.
>>19602038Might as well."Hi! You guys open to trade minerals for merc services?"If we do that, do it from a ship far away from the rest of our stuff.
>>19602038They're not going to be too welcoming, since we don't have any obviously Terran ships for them to recognize. Also, we don't have any valid pirate codes or passwords; they'll likely assume we're another trick by the Zerg (which the Zerg have been known to do).
>>19602051Hm... I don't know.Cerebrate Anon is all about reverse engineering right? If our luck should fail us and the Zerg get their hands on any of our stuff, the repercussions could be disastrous. Like what if the unthinkable happens and they loot an R-Type?
>>19602024They're probably not too keen on being friends with humans. The Confederacy DID carpet-nuke Shakuras, and relations were rather chilly before that. And we are NOT going to interfere with any major battle occurring here. To do so would contaminate this canon, and it would give Black Ops an excuse to label us as "fixers" and wreck our shit afterwards.
>>19602038You could.>>19602010I'm not sure of the max range, but I know that Asgard transporters can beam stuff from high orbit at least.
>>19602077True.It's unfortunate since I think they might be useful to us, but I can't see any way to recruit them.
>>19602099Lets see if we can teleport snipe some targets as they get "destroyed" so we'll get some protoss tech.
>>19602099I don't think they would sell us out to the Zerg, so the worst they could do, should negotiations fail, is deny us.
>>19602089We're not interfering with a major battle here. We're sniping canon characters who are going to die. And it'd give us a chance to replenish our Protoss tech we won't have again. The biggest trick would be convincing Tassadar, but we can do that I think. If not, we'll drop him and his forces off on a safe protoss world in exchange for Terrazine Gas. >>19601933I'm all for trying to use the Asgard Teleporters to grab Tassadar and his stuff before it dies from super long range.
>>19602113That seems too risky.Like if we have one slip-up, it would be a calamity.
>>19602099>>19602113Let's stay out of the apocalyptic battle between a vengeful Dark Templar Tassadar and his apostates vs. the collective might of the Swarm + Protoss fleet for now. Al'kesh are fragile by 20th century standards. A stray shot could easily de-cloak and get destroyed by Protoss and/or Zerg assuming that it's a hostile.Let's just focus on getting the Terrazine and/or Jorium from Cerion for now.
>>19602141...Eh...On a matter of this import, I'd like to consult the Farseers if doing so wouldn't alert the Zerg to our presence.
>>19602113That's really dangerous though. An Observer is continually transmitting data back to its respective side. We're going to have to cut its data feed right before we beam it aboard for re-programming.Also, trying to get Tassadar is too dangerous: he's a powerful psionic warrior, and his death, or non-death, will be felt by Cerebrate and Khas.
rolled 86 = 86>>19602158Farseers scry the day away...
>>19602216"With risk comes greater reward. He who sits by the fire remains safe, but he who goes on the hunt gathers the meat to fill his belly."
>>19602099It might be worth seeing if the pirates are interested in an exchange of goods... although we don't have any ships on hand that are of Terran design. We might be able to pass one of the Gallente ships or a shuttlecraft as UED tech or something. They're very wary of any tricks that the Swarm has pulled in the past (i.e. Robots, human double-agents, etc.). We *might* be able propose a trade of minerals for plans to a command center and/or barracks complete with the resoc. tanks. The pirates might be more receptive to this for the following reasons:1.) If we were the Swarm, we wouldn't need such plans because we've already taken over the KMC and can force them to bend over backwards for us. 2.) If we were the Swarm, we wouldn't even propose a trade for such common technology. We'd just rush in and infest them all. At the very least, we'd appear to be a corporation or deserters looking to defend themselves in the long-term.
>>19602270Well, I see this as a sign to try for it, I'm up for plan "Hijack Tassadar's Booty."
>>19602270"Operation: Fuck over the Swarm" is go!
NO!Alright, let's _not_ loot Tassadar and stick to our plan. We can't afford losing R-Types to the Zerg.
>>19602270Dammit, I don't want to do this, but we need Observers. We need to do this right. And not get caught in the fighting. We're not going to get Tassadar, either. That's just asking for trouble. He's unlikely to come with us in any case, since he's a religious fanatic and xenophobe.
>>19602270...So it sounds like success or failure will only be putting ourselves at risk, and not the stability of the canon?Alright then, lets steal us some Protoss.
>>19602352Honestly, I think we should grab Tassadar. He might not come with us, but even if he doesn't we may be able to negotiate safe passage for some of the stuff we need.
>>19602365And won't Cerebrate Anon be surprised to learn that Tassadar has evaded his destruction?Aren't they wary enough?
>>19602381Appearantly Tassadar's a slippery bugger in this canon.
>>19602431Nearly as bad as Kingston
>>19602431>>19602445So you're saying that there is precedence for Tassadar to inexplicably survive and reappear somewhere he shouldn't be?...Very well, lets do it and pray the dice gods will favor our boldness.
>>19602365If we grab Tassadar, you can bet your ass that the Cerebrate will be using their psi-compasses to try to pinpoint the location of such a powerful wielder of Dark Templar energies. Depending on the rolls, they may even pierce the psi-shields we have and attack our fleet. We're not only counting on our rolls to be good, but we have to count on the Cerebrate's rolls being bad also.Remember, we're here to capture tech to improve the long-term sustainability for our fleet. We should not let Tassadar's apparent awesomeness tempt us into *very* risky actions. Another hero would be real great, as would Observers. But cloaking tech is within our reach, and we could always outfit shuttlecraft or viper drones to act as a poor-man's Observer. We can also see if we can still trade tech to Requisitions for Observer plans. The force-multiplying technology we want from here are:1.) Barracks with Resoc. tanks to train new recruits we have into competent pilots for the vehicles/mechs/starships we have, as well as give them a modicum of arms training. The power armor for the marines would be spiffy, too.2.) SCVs and Command Center tech for processing Jorium/Terrazine, and for labor multipliers.3.) Jorium and Terrazine for Spectre training. With that in mind, I say we head to Cerion and see if we can find any barracks or command centers along with any terrazine/jorium we can find.
Ok, we'll have Vitun cast Miracle empowered by Cheryl to help the Protoss survive. We'll have the Miracle grab any protoss and protoss vehicles from the ships that explode to save their lives. To prevent them from freaking out, it should also let them know they are among allies. This should allow the Zerg to think they have won without letting them know someone is mucking about.
>>19602480First, Observers are the only scout/recon drone that has psi-crystal sensors.Second, Requisitions is now in total lock-down; our most recent Requisition Phase was also our last. If we don't get these Observers here, we don't get them at all.
>>19602480Here's the thing. Once we get Tassadar onto the ship, we activate the meta-drive so the Zerg can't run after us.
>>19602517And leave without getting what we originally came here for?
>>19602515>Steal Protoss from the jaws of death, so as not to contaminate the canonThat's spiffy thinking. Not endorsing or in any way indicating odds of success. Just saying it's spiffy.
>>19602517We'd better get to looting stuff quick, then. We have multiple ships with meta-drives; surely one of the smaller craft could have a quick look at Cerion and see if there's any facilities that would be of interest to us. I think we can live without Spectres, but having all the facilities included with a Terran Barracks would be real nice.
>>19602562Cerion is 2 days away.
If we put them all on the Oncoming storm, it can leave immediately. We'd then still have the other ships to loot the other planets. Also, double roll my previous plan.
>>19602609AUH, not the Storm. Got names swapped.
>>19602515If no one says anything, this is the plan I'm going to go with.
>>19602620Make sure Vitun double rolls, and has a personal reroll ready if he needs to use it.
>>19602515Wording Miracle thusly:"When a starship or vehicle with the IFF code of belonging to Tassadar's group is destroyed, it and any and all Protoss aboard said starship or vehicle will be teleported to the location of the Task Force, with all critical damage repaired, and all Protoss fears allayed that they are among friends. In their place will be left an equivalent amount of energy and debris commensurate with the destruction of such a starship or vehicle."And we need to have Virtun use his Double Roll to assist Cheryl providing his spell with a power boost.
>>19602620NO! Not yet! That wording doesn't repair the critical damage that would still cause those ships to explode once they've been teleported or leave behind evidence of their destruction!
>>19602648That! Use that Miracle Wording. I like that.
So, the Storm will loot some Protoss personnel and technology with the hopes of gaining the ability to manufacture certain Protoss units. We may also be able to loot Tassadar, a powerful and charismatic hero who succeeded in blending opposing energies together. May not be such a great telepath anymore since he may have cut off his psi-glands after rebelling against Khas, but might be a very powerful void-energy wielder. If we are detected, we may have to initiate a meta-transit drive to evade detection and egregious meta-contamination.Do we want to split up the fleet to try to scout out Cerion? If so, which ships are going on the non-Protoss looting mission?
>>19602609What we can do is have the All Under Heaven make the transit with the Protoss forces to Sector HQ, where they can be properly processed and repaired, and then have the All Under Heaven return back to us, so that we can still have its replicators and empty cargo holds to use.
Make sure the AUH's meta-transit drive is nicely warmed-up and ready for any emergency transit jumps. We'll need it once we seize Tassadar. This way, the Zerg can't catch us.
>>19602648>be teleported to the location of the Task ForceChange it to "be teleported to a location exactly one-half light second from the location of the Task Force with the Oncoming Storm as a reference point"
>>19602735That is still a fair distance away
rolled 11, 98 = 109>>19602648Vitun begins chanting, Cheryl holding her hand over him on one end and the Avatar holding his on the other side as supernatural energy flows to the cleric. As Vitun implores Desna for divine aid, Cheryl and the Avatar amplify the plea until it's capable of piercing the heavens and reaching the goddess. As the chanting reaches its height, Vitun completes the spell and makes his request, adding one phrase."Great Desna, Starsong... Great Dreamer... Yours is the freedom of the Heavens and the delight of travel..." Virtun whispers. "Great goddess of journeys, aid far lost brethren in a journey greater than any they have undertaken..."The a great flash of light bursts from around the Storm...
>>19602801>That is still a fair distance awayYes, because we don't want the spell to fuck us and have the Protoss ships try to reappear inside of our ships.
>>19602809Whoa.In other news, are we going to split up the fleet to check out Cerion? Or are we going to initiate the meta-jump as one whole, and see if we can return to this canon to continue looting? Keep in mind that once Tassadar is removed from the equation one way or another, the attention of the Swarm may not be held by another major event for some time.
>>19602809>98Now THAT'S what I call a miracle.
>>19602845We should have everyone transit out, offload the Protoss, then transit back in. Meta Transit let's us choose anywhere in the galaxy, and saves us 2 days of warp travel to Cerion.
This just inNear critical success kills MQOP
>>19603192He's waiting for the Zerg/Protoss fight to finish.
>>19603208Yeah I know that just I thought it was slightly funny so I figured I should post it
>>19603208Yeesh. Another roll like that, and you won't need a miracle. You'll just go chat with him during his victory dance.

First gradually, then many all at once, until the original Task Force 38 is completely surrounded by a full battlefleet of Protoss. The subtle suggestion that you are friendly is apparently working since they do not open fire, but even so, there is frantic and somewhat confused communication between the battle groups. Finally, the last of the fleet miraculously appears before you, a great command carrier at its head. The Oncoming Storm is being bombarded by hailing requests, but no one more notable than that of the flagship Gantrithor. The spell complete, Vitun collapses, completely spent."Well boss," Spike says, lighting up a cigarette on the bridge as the ships appear. Let's do it where we can be more safe. Will you agree to allow us to warp us all to a safe haven?"We should transit to Sector HQ for now, in order to get Tassadar's psi-signature out of this Canon, and to prove our story to him.
>>19603642First, we grab Vitun's hand and hope his double rolls work while he's exausted. Second, I was thinking about opening communications with the Gantrithor and saying something like: "Greetings Tassadar, I apologise but I couldn't let such proud Protoss die. Sadly, this galaxy seems to be irrevocably infested with Zerg and now that they think you dead we wish to extend an offer. We ask that you join us, we will lead your fleet to a place free of Zerg, where you and the people loyal to you can rebuild your culture. There will be hardships, and we ask for your assistance in protecting our worlds however."

>>19604257IF, AND ONLY IF Tassadar still wants answers before he agrees to warp to another canon, continue on with this. In addition, we can also do this later if he agrees to warp with us earlier than expected."The threat we speak of is vast and varied. The realities that we spoke of earlier number in the millions, and each of them contain distinct universes that are populated by races of all different shapes and sizes. Each of them have their own hopes and dreams and struggles that are their own, not dissimilar to how you led your brethren to root out the threat of the Zerg today. But even then, the Zerg have their own motivations for doing what they do; perhaps it is in their nature to consume, like how an animal consumes other animals for sustenance.""But there exist entities that are capable of breaking the laws of existence. In doing so, they create distortions that are so large that they cascade into other realities, shattering them beyond repair. The Zerg would fight to preserve their own worlds, but these enemies we fight hold no such reservations. If they cannot distort reality to their liking, they will see it all burn. >>19604619DAMN IT ORZWE SPENT SO MUCH EFFORT FIXING THIS PLACE AND........YOU AND US ARE NO LONGER *happy campers* YOU ARE NOW *silly cows*
We have three things we need to do immediately:1. Keep the Orz distracted.2. Answer Tassadar's questions, or at least some of them, and tell him that this place is no longer safe. "Tassadar, the security of our base here has been compromised. Our haven is no longer a place of refuge."3. Send off an emergency transmission to Holtz, and we should warn the TSAB outpost we contacted: The Orz have gone Meta, and they've started *pulling* everyone they meet. They need to evacuate or move their sector bases to new Meta coordinates to avoid the Orz.A safe place may be Vaderworld; the Rewriter Bomb prevents Orz from entering that timeline.
The Orz appeared to have gone meta long before the moment we first met them, if I'm reading their communications correctly from the first thread. In that instance, the Orz were observing the combat between the Chaos ship and the Void Engineer, when some other big ship came in and tried to attack or stop the Orz. In response, the Orz "pulled" everyone into the space in between dimensions.I'm not sure how we should go about dealing with the Orz if they indeed pulled everyone from this canon.
>>19606893It's possible that they only pulled the Transpace Guard base. But in a way, that's even worse isn't it?
>>19606893Actually, it was the STOB going off that dragged the Orz to that fight between the Void Engineers and NuChaos. The Orz wanted to fight, but they got knocked aside and it annoyed them.Yes, the Orz are capable of independent Meta transit. But they didn't do much of it before because they liked where they were. But now, with the detonation of the STOB making Meta transit easier (which the Orz said), they're likely moving around to other Canons. This is bad, because they're very, very powerful and alien. In addition to the 3 things from >>19606535we need to get to the TG base in orbit, and pull the logs to see what happened.Maybe the crew were able to escape down to the planet, compared to the crew of the TG base above the C&C Canon who were all killed by the Orz.
>>19607016This is complicated. It seems that attacking the Orz may provoke them into *pulling* more people, but on the other hand it appears that they may *pull* people for their own reasons. We should handle this carefully and diplomatically, and see what exactly happened here first. For all we know, something else caused the disappearance of everyone in this canon, and the Orz are here to see what happened.Let's hope that they still regard us as campers.
If only there was a way to merge magic and treknobabble to form a hax so powerful we could *unpull* things the Orz have taken.
>>19607303Perhaps we could very nicely ask them to return the victims of pulling, if they still consider us to be "happy campers". Unless there's precedence of this question making them attack the requesters on site.At any rate, since they're sending three ships to parley with us and not appearing from all over the place and pulling random personnel, it might be safe to say that they're not interested in fighting us (for now).
>>19609085It's been shown both in the game they're from, and from when we first met them, that asking about people they've *pulled* makes them annoyed. Ask them too much, and they'll go hostile and attack.
>>19607016Instead of going to the base and pulling the logs, it may be possible to have ANON create a datalink to the TG base computer and pull the logs remotely, and to see if the base AI can get some basic operations online. We may need to consider leaving behind a holographic staff so that the station remains operational.
>>19612095If there's anyone left in the canon. No real reason to keep the base running when nothing else is here.
>>19612114>No real reason to keep the base running when nothing else is here.Actually, there is. Raw materials can now be drawn openly and efficiently, and fed into replicators and fabricators.
>>19605140IT KEEPS HAPPENING!!!>>19604637>>19604638>>19604651"They are not *here*. Orz are here. You are *happy campers* not like them too much. There were *spicy games* and a *party*. But now we do not tell *stories* about those *silly cows.*
>>19612164>"They are not *here*. Orz are here. You are *happy campers* not like them too much. There were *spicy games* and a *party*. But now we do not tell *stories* about those *silly cows.*I'm not too good at translating Orz-speak, but here's my best guess: The Orz pulled everyone in this canon to wherever they pull people, and now only the Orz are here. They still appear to have a high opinion of us despite our affiliation with those who tried to attack them. There was a conflict or event that happened here that the Orz thought was very spiffy, and the Orz do not want to speak on the matter anymore.
>>19612164"They were our *bubbles*, our *happy campers*.Have ANON open a datalink to the base computer, see if there's an AI, and try to pull the base logs to find out what happened. Also, open a comm-channel, encrypted, to Sector HQ and to Holtz."Holtz! We've got a problem! It's the Orz man! The Orz! They hit another of our bases, the one over the Fallout Canon! "It might just be coincidence, but I think we need to relocate all of our assets in the sector. We should warn the TSAB, too."
>>19612164So you are here now. Are you here to tell us something in particular, or do you wish to continue our *relative*-ness?
>>19612232"They WHAT?!" Holtz roars. "Great... just great! That leaves us at HQ and the facility in the UCAS as our only fully staffed and operational bases! There's a skeleton crew manning the orbital above GDI airspace too, but... Well, whatever! I can't move HQ, but I'll start reinforcing our defenses to supernatural bullshit like PULLING. Which, I remind you, I wouldn't have had to do at all if you didn't LET THEM VISIT OUR MAIN BASE. I'll get the word out to the UCAS base and we'll see what they can manage too.">>19612232"They were *happy* so we *danced* with the *silly cows*. This made them *frumple* so we *danced* with them too. Orz *germinate* here, so *smooth.*">>19612332"You are help Orz with many *parties*. You are *smooth relatives*."
So, about the huge Protoss battlefleet that's currently awaiting our explanation (recruitment pitch) to them. Should we start the explaining as soon as we sort out this Orz business, or do we want to move them to a more secure canon before we talk?
So...Is everyone dead on Fallout World or just the base? Also is it wrong that I want to point the Orz in the direction of the Zerg we just met?Like it seems like with Tassador gone, the Zerg are fresh out of enemies, which gives them time for science.I don't want them having time for science.
>>19612456Let's try not to get them pulled by the Orz. Politely ask Tassadar to allow us to sort out this situation and then we can move them to HQ or something.
>>19612440"Holtz, please send those schematics to us. We'll split our task force and give the schematics to the TSAB."Their Dimensional Navy is the only thing keeping Chaos contained; we can't afford having them weakened.">>19612456I think we should leave while we can. The Vader-world is supposedly safe from Orz incursions after the detonation of the Rewriter Bomb. We can go there and talk. But first, we need those base logs.
>>19612505Sensors indicated that the entire planet is devoid of humans. And pointing the Orz at the Zerg could give the Swarm the theoretical framework they need for Meta Drive technology. It's too dangerous.
Holtz. Is there by any chance a method to seal a canon from meta travel? If there is, I have an idea on how we can "fix" our earlier screw up.
>>19612440So you're here now, but what do you want to do, now that you're here? *Germinate*?
>>19612505The Fallout world was scanned by our computers, and was found to be absent of human life. It is likely that the Orz pulled everyone. >>19612440Odd. The Orz here almost appear to be speaking of two presences they encountered here, with the TG base staff being the *happy* people, and another group being *silly cows*. But when the Orz started to fight this second hostile party, it made the TG base staff angry, so the Orz fought with the TG staff as well.
>>19612553Maybe the native forces were hostile, and when the Orz defended themselves (or possibly initiated combat) the Transpace Guard got involved to defend the canon?I don't know, I really don't see how we can deal with the Orz. Like they're merely *fingers* of some horrifying extra-dimensional entity, and there's a theoretically infinite amount of them. How do you fight that?
>>19612440>>19612440>HoltzHoltz, another thing worth mentioning: the Orz appear to say that they were specifically drawn to this canon in some way. Perhaps it has something in common with the C&C canon that was pulled. Do you want us to go ahead and see what we can find?>OrzAre all of you content to stay here and *Germinate*? We may have more *parties* for you later, but we must attend to other matters first.
>>19612596>Maybe the native forces were hostileFallout natives don't have space travel capability. They couldn't have attacked the Orz ships.
>>19612634What if it was the Greys? They may have attacked the Orz, doesn't explain why the guard would get involved though, since we're after Mothership Zeta, I think.
>>19612627Inviting the Orz to other *parties* was what got us into this mess in the first place. Holtz is already pissed off at us; you want to make him even angrier?
Lets tell the ORZ that if they want to *Party* they can't Keep *pulling* random people. Then tell them that a nice man named Haltz can tell them where the best *Parties* are at if they contact him. We are also a very knowing person when it comes to where the *parties* be at. As it is, we're not a *happy camper* right now. they took some of our people who were making sure the *Parties* kept rolling.
>>19612657>Then tell them that a nice man named Haltz can tell them where the best *Parties* are at if they contact him.THE FUCK ARE YOU SMOKING!? Holtz would KILL us for this. DO NOT DO THIS.
>>19612627>>19612649Alright, alright. Scratch that last bit of communications to the Orz, then.
>>19612440>OrzAre you going to stay here for a while, or are you planning to slide later? If it does not make you *frumple* for us to ask, may we ask what is it that makes this place *smooth* to you?>Protoss fleetShould we just say our goodbyes to the Orz and then jump to the Vaderverse to continue our talks with them, then? If the Orz aren't going anywhere, we might as well jump out and try our best to recruit the Protoss, who are probably very confused and waiting for answers.
>>19612657Yeah, this isn't going to help matters either.
So if the Fallout world is empty, does that mean that we can just salvage everything we can get our hands on?Like as long as we don't initiate conflict I'm pretty sure the Orz won't start anything.
>>19612838For instance, jacking pretty much everything the Brotherhood of Steel has to offer, especially the remains of Liberty Prime?
>>19612924>>19612838Barren world, devoid of life. Only one thing to do. Jack Everything. Liberty prime is primary target. T51-b power armor is second. Plasma weapons third.
>>19612511Seconding. Pull the base logs if the Orz don't act weirdly while we're doing so, then tell Tassadar that we are doing another jump to reach the safe haven. We can do looting later when there isn't a huge Protoss fleet waiting for an answer. If the Orz are content to stay here and do whatever they're doing, then we'd best attend to our Protoss buddies.
>>19612978We can do looting after we warn the TSAB and secure the recruitment of Tassadar and his Protoss forces. For all we know, the TSAB outpost and our base in the Shadowrun world could already be under attack. And we need the TSAB Dimensional Navy to keep the Chaos space forces from running rampant until we can deal with them.
>>19613063Let's send an errand-boy to the TSAB outpost and check up on how their dimensional navy is holding up.We can afford to send at least _one_ ship, right? The clock keeps ticking, might as well try to multi-task some stuff when we can get away with it?
So with the Orz, is the best solution to simply just ignore them and don't investigate them at all?
>>19613179We only have two ships that are capable of making that trip; either the All Under Heave, or the Oncoming Storm. Before we detach a ship to go there, we should get the schematics for anti-Orz defenses from Holtz that hopefully will work, to give to the TSAB.
>>19613205Yes. That's what all information from the Star Control series says to do.
>>19612511"What schematics?">>19612542"Yeah, there is. But we sure as hell don't have access to it. Quarantine Frame, like the one up in our north-east quadrant.">>19612627"Of course they were drawn, they were FOLLOWING YOU AROUND!">>19612750"Here is nice and *smooth*. Outside is *frumple*. Orz stay here looooong time."
>>19613279Holtz, I believe they want the anti-orz defenses you're upgrading the base with, so we can send them to the TASB. Also, could you please SEE if we can get access to a Quarantine Frame, especially if it would keep the Orz HERE and not let them jump around anywhere else?...I am really glad we got our requisitions in before this happened.
>>19613279>>19613279Alright. I propose that we say our goodbyes to the Orz, warp over to the Vaderverse with the Protoss fleet and start our recruitment pitch. Perhaps acquiring a full battlefleet of willing Protoss for our sector without causing trouble in any of the canons will mollify Holtz a bit.
>>19613279>What schematics"For any dimensional defenses that can prevent an Orz *pulling*, that you said you were going to upgrade Sector HQ and the remaining branch office with. "As for a Quarantine Frame, wouldn't being able to keep the Orz stuck here and instead of rampaging through the Meta be a good enough reason for TG Main to get us one?"
rolled 100 = 100>>19613316>>19613335"I'll see what I can do, but no promises."Captcha: onteg PHARISEESI guess HQ is really gonna crucify Holtz for this one...
>>19613368>Nat 100Or not. Appearantly, they had a free one they're just happy to give to Holtz.
>>19613368Thank. GOD.This was so fucking needed it's insane. For the record, folks; Holtz is awesome, and should feel awesome. We need to get him SO MUCH BOOZE.>mfw nat 100 just when we needed it
>>19613368>roll to get anti-Orz defenses and a Quarantine Frame>100Guess the threat of an Orz invasion is the one thing that can get the Firemen and the Messiahs to put the TG Civil War on hold.
>>19613368If only Holtz was a hero unit. Free level up. As it stands, Holtz contacts you back in a few hours."I had to bullshit like I've never bullshitted before, but yeah, I managed to get ahold of a spare Frame system, and clearance to transmit schematics for Dimensional Stabilizers. They'll be arriving at base in a few days."
>>19613431Thanks Holtz, you're a doll. We'll see if we can get you some Vintage Protoss Booze from our new buddies. And if not, we'll get you something nice. ~<3
>>19613431>Dimensional StabilizersCan we get the schematics now? The sooner we can give them to the TSAB, the better. The TSAB and the TG may be engaged in a Meta Cold War, but we can both agree that the Orz are bad news.
>>19613506>>19613518"You ever been to a protoss 'restaraunt'? They don't drink or eat, they just absorb energy and light. It's a bunch of stools around different crystal pillars that emit different 'flavors' of energy.""Yeah, yeah, I'll send them along once you stop by base. Not going to risk transmitting them across transpace."
>>19613563"Okay, thanks Holtz. We're going to swing by that Vaderverse first to throw off the Orz, and to recruit these Protoss. We'll pick you up some more booze."Alright, let's disengage from the Orz and leave."It's been *smooth* talking with you again, Orz, but it's time for us to *happy campers* to *slide*."Transit to the vaderverse with the entire fleet. We will appear at the Oort Cloud, so we can fill up our replicators, and talk with Tassadar.
>>19613599You manage to do so without any problems.
>>19613599Oh, shit, don't forget to get the base's logs before we transit!
>>19613722Shit! Wait! We were supposed to get those base logs!
>>19613722Crap, we'd had 4 or so posts to get the base logs. Did we get them before we left the Orz behind?
>>19613732>>19613736>>19613761OK, before you leave, how are you going about retrieving the logs?
>>19613787send a transmission to the computer with our codes. Wait for the computer to send back the data we want. There should be some automation to it so that the people don't have to worry about responding to every little alert.
>>19613811You do so, and with a little work, manage to download the base logs.
>>19613811If this doesn't work, while we were talking with the Orz and Holtz, we have an Al'Kesh with the TG Soldier squad and a squad of Emergency Security Holograms (Mobile Emitters) beam over to the base and get the logs.
>>19613859Ok. We'll go over the logs as we make the transit. In the Vaderverse: Have the Al'Kesh begin filling up the material reserve tanks of the Hercules, All Under Heaven, the Hiigaran Shipyard, and the Nyx Supercarrier with materials from the debris of the Oort Cloud.Order ANON to keep up an active scan of the local fabric of reality in case the Orz somehow figured out a way to track us into a world that had a Rewriter Bomb go off.Now is the time to talk with Tassadar."We're very sorry, Tassadar. We had not expected our base to have been compromised so badly like it had been."You have many questions, and we will answer them to the best of our ability."
>>19613924Add "those were the Orz. They're a projection of an extradimensional being into truespace and have a habit of attacking anyone who annoys them or asks quests. And we can't really kill them because they're just an extention of another being. And they're one of the FRIENDLIER nusiances we have to deal with. And when they do get ticked off, they drag you to that extra dimensional being and, well. . . " to that.
>>19613962We probably don't want to spread such information about the Orz around to just anyone. Ignorance is the best protection against them, after all.
>>19613994Won't they get the knowledge anyways if they join us? And it may make Tassadar more likely to join us, but I do see where you're coming from.
>>19614041Eh, true enough I suppose. If you guys want a long speech to edit about who exactly we are and what we do, we can refer to these posts:>>19604360>>19604375
>>19613994Then maybe when Tassadar inevitably asks about them? Also, since we spent 2 days in the Zerg Quest Canon, MetaOP, have any of our research projects finished? The replication of the EBO Cortical Stacks and the injections of RED-2-Generic are finished, so we may want to get the schematics for the Advanced Bio-Stabilization Masks into the replicators so we can start making them. And now that the industrial replicators are free, and Vitun wasn't able to finish the magical repairs to the Indefatigable: MetaOP, can we fix the Indefatigable now?
Yeah, it's not a good idea to tell people about them, mostly because anyone who thinks about them can be found by them.
>>19613962We shouldn't spread the knowledge about the Orz so cavalierly. That knowledge is dangerous, just like eldritch Lovecraftian knowledge.
>>19613924>>19613962"I see... And they were this evil you must fight?"Yes, the S-2 Organ research finished, but I have to type it up.
>>19613859Let's ask Holtz what was in the big quarantine zone on the map.
>>19614166Actually, they're evil, but we're trying to avoid fighting them. Mostly because there is no known way to kill or defend against them. Can we show him some of the footage from the Horror World fiasco?
>>19614166"They are...not exactly evil. They are more akin to an astrogation hazard, like a rogue black hole, or random gamma ray burst."Let us show you some of the evils that we do combat."Start transmitting video logs from the SUE's we've fought, with running commentary.
>>19614166Try not to think about them, at all. Ever. And don't tell any of your men about them, unless they need to know.
>>19614209>Royal Pain"This was from a world where a Crossover occurred. People and things from one reality, suddenly finding themselves in another. "This S.U.E. took control and began to expand her dominion. Bending people's minds and wills to her own, she began carving out a nearly unstoppable empire. We were able to defeat her, and free the people under her thrall, who then rose up in rebellion against their slavemasters.">The Wolf"From the world that we had just recently left. This S.U.E. was going to infect and transform all people on the world, into its vision of perfection.>Vaderverse"This universe where we are taking refuge now, was about to tear apart under the stress that the S.U.E.'s were wreaking upon the fabric of reality. It was a costly battle, but one that we were committed to fighting, and dedicated to winning.">Ebon Night Horror World"This...was truly one of the most powerful, and evil entities we had encountered. A truly evil god, it had pulled other many worlds together, using the lesser evils of those worlds as its lieutenants in order to create a planet of suffering and horror."The battle cost us dearly, but it was one that we had to fight.">excerpts from the OMG! Canon"And here, more of these idiot-gods bending reality to their whim, with no concern as to who they hurt. Not even goddesses were proof against their manipulations.""If you wish, Tassadar, you may speak with those that have fought for us in these battles."Cheryl, Tosh, Star-Lord, Darius, are all good candidates. Maybe even the Prawns to provide a non-human perspective.
>>19614305There a reason we're not mentioning Dr. Grimm?
>>19614398Because Cheryl hasn't told us what she learnt about him yet.
>>19614398We need to talk to Cheryl about what she saw in his mind first.
>>19614170"I'd love to tell you about it, but all records on it were sealed, which is incredibly stupid considering I have to run this sector. That's bureaucracy for you.">>19614305"All of these are impressive battles, but these foes all lie defeated. Are these 'idiot-gods' massing together? What foe do you face currently that you need my aid? And I find the prospect of just leaving these... Orz alone disturbing. Surely there must be SOME way of defending against the beasts."
Should we explain why, with all our power, we're not going to do jack shit against the Zerg?Like could we tie it into the Protoss belief of "Dae-Uhl" or whatever?
>>19614443We're working on building something for our ships that'll protect us from it. We're also planning on sealing these things away so we don't have to worry about them anymore.
>>19614443That's the problem, more and more of them seem to be appearing, this entire sector recently crashed into a chaotic mess which we are attempting to set straight.
>>19614443We will soon face two armies, known as New Chaos and the Void Engineers.New Chaos seeks to conquer its way across universes, not hesitating to use its superior technology and foul sorceries to impose its will upon those less fortunate. The Void Engineers are more mysteries, but their intentions are just as dire. Both sides are squabbling over devices known as STOBs, which is an acronym for "Space-Time-Oscillation-Bomb".To detonate a STOB would be to chaotically blend multiple universes to a patchwork whole, throwing the entire multiverse into chaos, and putting all of existence at risk of collapse.
>>19614443Bring up video logs of Void Engineer ships and Chaos battlebarges, cross-referenced with how they compare to Protoss ships."Of course the S.U.E. is not the only foe we face, just one of many. Though they have been becoming more numerous of late."No, there are other factions, such as the Void Engineers, the forces of New Chaos, the Combine, that we must fight against."As for the Orz, our superiors are currently putting together a containment device which will hopefully trap them in that universe we left. They will be contained in that dead universe, hopefully."
Also, bump limit reached. We're on page 6 now.
>>19614443It is true that we have defeated those foes that we have showed you. However, there are yet more foes that we must face before stability can return to these realities; these idiot-gods appear out of nowhere, and can claim a world for their own with little effort. Understand that we are not asking for your assistance for any *one* battle, Tassadar; we fight to ensure that stability is maintained across the many planes of existence that require our help. We seek to protect all of reality. But sadly, for every person who seeks to protect these realms from irreparable harm, there are many who would seek to subjugate all of reality or see it burn before them. Show him footage of WH40k Chaos fleets doing what they do best (spreading corruption and chaos on a massive scale), Combine forces subjugating Earth, and the Closers.
>>19614602>and the ClosersOh fuck, the Closers. Sending a dozen naked young slave girls, most between the ages of 9 and 12, against a starved, rabid grizzly bear as part of their tamer forms of entertainment.Sacrificing children into ovens upon their altars for Moloch. Subjugating entire worlds and timelines, and stripping them of usable materials and slaves for their war against the ATN. Their soldiers, armed with guns able to fire AI-controlled homing bullets that travel at Mach 10. The Closers are not nice people.
>>19614602>>19614550"It would be better to wipe them out, but if that cannot be done, an eternal prison would work well enough," Tassadar nods. "So you are not asking my help for one foe... You want my forces to help you against whatever foes may arise. Is that correct?"
>>19614673"Yes. Assist us in maintaining the balance of creation, and of defending the safety of the Meta."
Lets ask Holtz if he thinks there's any place where Tassadar's Protoss can settle and attempt to rebuild their shattered culture.I'm pretty sure that would be a good selling point.
Farseers, could you consult the skeins and see if the Quarantine Wall will solve our Orz problems indefinitely?Or if it would just be a temporary measure or worse, earn the Orz's hostility?
>>19614725Also, where the best placement is to achieve the maximum usefulness for locking up the Orz is.We only have one, so we should try to put it where it will count the most.
>>19614673>>19614602Yes. Though the nature of the foes we face have major implications on the stability of reality as a whole. These idiot-gods and these various factions... when they cross boundaries and impose their will upon realities that are not their own, this creates a distortion of sorts. If left unchallenged, this distortion grows larger and larger and larger until it starts to distort and strain against other adjacent realities. The fabric of creation itself strains against this force, becoming a font of chaos.
>>19613368Of course Holtz can level up. I'm nominating as his traits:Powered by BoozeHoltz gets a permanent bonus to all his primary statistics [Intelligence, Willpower, Bullshitting ability, Ability to survive shit, Working speed, Booze consumption potential] by consuming Booze. The bonus for consuming a particular type of booze diminishes quickly, and so he must consume many different and varied types of booze to continue gaining stats.Eternally FrumpledIf the workers under his command are about to do anything that Holtz would disapprove of, said workers get a clear image in their heads of Holtz facepalming and looking frustrated. This applies even across the boundaries of the Meta.
>>19614798Without spoiling too much, he already has Powered by Booze.OK, given that the thread is in autosage and that it's midnight, calling it for tonight. See everyone on Tuesday!
>>19614820Alright, see you Tuesday, MetaOP.
>>19614820WAY TO CLIFFHANGER, OP. Thanks for running this over the weekend, though.See ya then.
It's been noted in the IRC that the red splotch that indicates Quarantine Zone has been getting bigger every time we take a look at the sector map.Whatever was originally contained there, has been leaking out.
