>Looks like a Tuesday to me.>Hold on, I need to go set my couch on fire, then I'll be back to run.>Should only take like ten minutes.>Previous threads here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=AC%20Quest>I'll do a quick pre-quest Q&A if you guys want when I get back. Just post questions.
Why did/do you need to set your couch ablaze?
>>19295075How many couches do you go through on a weekly basis?
>>19295126>Two reasons: Firstly, I'm moving and it's fucked up to the point where I would feel guilty giving it to charity and I don't have a dumpster to put it in, so I'm giving it a viking funeral.>The second is because I've inherited my now three generation feud with the BLM/EPA/Parks Service unholy trinity.>>19295182>>19295248>They usually last a while. I mean, There was the one Dave lost off the top of his car moving it down the highway, this one, and the one my dad's dog ate. And that was over the course of like two years.
>>19295290I respect your decision to burn the couch, may it be sat upon by mighty warriors. We doing a Alex or Liz story this time?
>>19295320>I was gonna go with Alex, but I'll put it up to a vote if you guys want.
>>19295290What's the BLM? Bureau of Lumber Management?
>>19295336Alex sounds fine
>>19295336I'm fine with either of them.
>>19295075Tell me about that dropped possibility of an evil Alex Raston.
>>19295358>Bureau of Land Management.>Let me explain what happened: My grandfather was on the way to starting up a successful ranch up here. Would have led to more jobs and a more productive local economy.>One of the worst kept secrets in America is that the federal government doesn't want Alaskans to fully develop available natural resources because we'd have a strong enough economy to form a separate nation with no real concerns. and they've fucked us hard enough in the past that there's still a simmering secessionist movement up here.>So they up and decide to turn all currently developed land into national parks, and prevent us from ever developing like 90% of our state's potential, ever. Since my Grandpa's Ranch was surrounded by undeveloped land he was trying to buy, he got completely fucked. along with most of the local farmers/ranchers.>They also try and keep mining as repressed as possible, because 'pretty trees' even though we have like a million fucking acres of beautiful scenic landscapes that aren't in the way of any of our proposed mining projects.>So since my entire family, since we came to America way back when comes from mining/ranching/farming..... Yeah.
>>19295424>Kinda irrelevant at the moment. I also sort of explained the how/why a while ago.>>19295371>>19295402>I guess we're going Alex then.>Give me a minute....
Would anyone in here have any objections to an advertisement from /vg/?
>>19295504Just say what your advertising so we can ridicule you for being a corporate sellout.
>>19295516I'm trying to bring more life into the Armored Core General thread. It needs the action.
YOU ARE ALEX RASTON.Yesterday, you met Laurie's father, discovered Dervish is either a masochist or considerably more skilled then you originally thought. You disentangle yourself from Elsie, and note that Ari apparently fell asleep on the couch last night playing her game. You hear someone in the kitchen, apparently cooking breakfast.[ ] Wake up the girls.[ ] Go to the kitchen.[ ] Sneak in an early workout.
>>19295540[X] Go to the kitchen.Let them sleep.
>>19295540Lets see who's cooking breakfast.
>>19295540IT MIGHT BE NINJAS AGAINAlso, still no MTs. What the fuck man
You head to the kitchen and see Lawrence is up early. And not looking like he's hung over. You're actually startled slightly by this development. He notices you walking in. "Hey Alex. How'd last night go?"[ ] Talk to him about his Dad.[ ] Deflect, ask him about Kate.
>>19295595I'm just working off brief wiki perusals, but weren't Muscle Tracers a precursor to the AC tech? Perhaps the world went straight to ACs.>>19295652Let's Daddy time.
>>19295595>[No MTs]>Actually, there ARE, but it hasn't come up in quest yet, for reasons I'll go into when it becomes relevant. Or in a crunch/general thread.
>>19295652No use beating around the subject on everyone's mind. Serious talk mode initiated.
>>19295652[X] Talk to him about his Dad.Serious talk engaged.
>>19295652[ ] Talk to him about his Dad.We didnt make you talk to im, so now you can talk to us about it
[X] Deflect, ask him about Kate.I'm not gonna serious up while he's making my eggs. If hes not making my eggs then we can totally talk about his dad.
>>19295448That's... that's absolutely sickening that they can get away with that shit.
>>19295652Let's talk to him about his Dad.Might as well take care of the elephant in the room.
"It went.... alright. You talked to Zack yet?""No, why?""I guess I get to tell you then."He looks at you while moving the hash-browns off the fire. "Tell me what.""Well.... turns out that the Captain was your dad."He's silent for a long moment. "You're sure?""Him and Zack talked about it, and he's convinced.""He say why he abandoned us?" He seems to be trying and failing to hold a bitter undertone from his voice."I didn't get the whole story out of him, but I think Zack did. The little I heard indicated that he got trapped somewhere when the shit hit the fan, and when he got back raiders had hit up your old house after you abandoned it."You watch him, and for a long, slow few minutes the two of you just stand the."Hey. Laurie." He looks at you "You gonna be alright?"".... I don't know. I need to talk to Zack, you mind finishing up here?" He gestures to the stove."Sure." A few minutes after he leaves the crew begins to wake up and trickle in. You set aside a plate for Laurie, and talk to....[ ] Mooch.[ ] Dave.[ ] Elsie.[ ] Ari.
>>19295889Ari, as much as I want to ask Mooch about his anime schemes.
>>19295889[X] Ari.See how she's progressing, how she's doing in life in general, if she needs anything from us.
>>19295889[ ] Dave.
>>19295889Ari.Need to keep up on how our trainee is doing after all.
>>19295844>Man, that's nothing. Did you know that if the DEA 'suspects' drug involvement, they can legally seize and freeze absolutely everything you own? And even if you win in court, prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they're wrong and/or you're being framed?>They just have to say they suspect drugs, and never ever return it. You can't legally force them them to.>I remember one case where this guy, who had a medical marijuana license, in a place where it was totally legal, got in the way of the parks service developing a 'wilderness trail' where his house was. DEA took the land and sold it under the table to them in less than 24 hours. By the time he won the case the land he had rightfully owned was kept from him by federal law, and he was instead given the money made from the sale. Which amounted to less than ten percent the land's value, and he still had to pay the mortgage on it.
>>19295928>Weep for a world where this is a necessary warning.
>>19295956Wow, now thats something, fuck it you should move out here to Canada. At least I cant tell you stories like that happening around where I live
>>19295527>>>/vg/5675072Indeed. For those of you that still play, we're trying to organize weekend events and other stuff to stimulate interest, especially since a patch has been confirmed
>>19295956Remind me again why we continue to give them our money?Oh right, if you refuse they'll kick in the door and lock you up with a big fat dude named "Bubba", who'll just LOOOOOVE having a new cellmate.
You look over at your sister. "So you slept here last night?"She looks slightly sheepish. "I didn't mean to. Turns out Dervish was right about it holding your attention.""Any improvements?""Not sure yet. Best way to test it would be to get in a sim run.""Well, we should be able to set you up for one later. Do we have a match today?" You ask Dave.He shakes his head. "They're resolving the semis and such for the solo tournament first. We're going to have the final match back to back with the other final in a day or two."You turn back to your sister. "Before we do any of that, you mind going to check and see how things are at home?""I was going to after breakfast actually.">Who next?[ ] Dave.[ ] Mooch.[ ] Elsie.

"So Dave, since we have a day or two, do you have any plans for the day?""Actually yes. I was going to place some calls so I could get some better equipment and restock on medical supplies.""How much is that going to cost?""Not a lot. I know some people, and I can get some hand me downs from the local hospitals as far as something like a X-Ray goes.""And we're low on supplies? What happened to them?""Well, you've eaten almost all the painkillers, and taken about half the bandaging. Then there's the various bumps and bruises we get with our mechanics since we've had them going almost non-stop since we got here. All in all we're not completely out, but I don't have enough to properly handle an emergency.""Like what?""Like one of our missile pods getting touched off. Yeah, there's safeties and such, but it's still possible. and while the casing should prevent shrapnel from flying out, the concussive force can pop ear-drums and send people flying if they're standing too close when it happens.""So you'll be real busy then?""Until early this evening, yeah. Might have plans then too, depending on who's available.">You could probably fit in one more conversation if you wanted.[ ] Mooch.[ ] Elsie.[ ] Finish up, move on to other things.

To start, I'd like to apologize for us taking two of your posts. If /vg/ ain't your thing, feel free to ignore us.Hey howdy, I'm Ahab. I come here from /vg/ in hopes of attracting some of you to the Armored Core General thread. Things are pretty slow and we need all the help we can get, so we'd appreciate it if any of you could stop by to discuss Armored Core generally. Of course, V is the most discussed game at the moment as it's the most recent one, but don't let that discourage you. We can answer your questions about any of the AC games. Well, I know I can, but I'm not on all the time. Still, I make a point to respond to any post that has yet to receive a response, so long as I can give a decent answer. Of course, I'm not the only one who can do that. Now, of the people who post in the thread, I can't tell you who's experienced with what, but between all of us I'm sure we've got our bases covered. Heck, as far as ACV is concerned, we've got a guy who is consistently up near the top of the Free Battle ladder, so he definitely knows what he's talking about. So come on over, come on in. Pull up a seat, take a load off your feet. If you want to talk ACV, fantastic, maybe the stars will align right and we can do some free battling. Need help on any of the other AC games, we can do that. Worst case scenario I'll pop in my copy and see if we can figure out a good build to help you make it through. The thread is always pretty easy to find, just open up the catalog for /vg/http://catalog.neet.tv/vg/and search for Armored Core. If nothing comes up, try AC. You'll likely have to sift through some results, but we've had a thread or two where Armored Core wasn't in the title or early part of the OP. Our current thread has been pointed out by >>19296009

He starts picking at it as he continues. "I'm not really sure what to do with this. Am I supposed to go running back and make up for lost time? Should I ignore him and move on with life? Why hasn't he tried to call me yet if he knows? Does he want me to have time to try and adjust to the idea? Is he embarrassed of ashamed of himself? Maybe he's as confused as me? They're basically mooks you chew through, but they are there.Shit in the AC4 timeline, where even AC's are phased out by NEXT there are still MT's. Their low price while still performing well and being modular put them at about tank level (that is to say, pussies in a mech game, but good massed). Also they use the same controle scheme as Armored Cores, you tend to only become a raven AFTER a few years as an MT pilot, though it's more for practice then an actual requirementNOW IGNORE ME

rolled 11 = 11>>19297831fffffff
rolled 8 = 8>>19297831Will save?
>>19297868>>19297856>>19297836We got this shit.
>>19297868>>19297856>>19297836Fuck you will save 40
>>19297836>>19297856>>19297868>I'm slightly shocked.
rolled 25 = 25NON
>>19297886With all our bad luck, it was bound to happen. If only we could get used to it
You take a deep breath and put a hand on her shoulder."Right now, we need to just ignore it. Check on Alex, I'll make sure it's out of your way."She nods mutely. Then after a minute confirms that Alex should be fine in the short term. About 20 minutes later, Dave shows up and the two of them clean up Alex and put him in his bed.Dave turns to you. "Hey Laurie, I know this is a bit to ask, but could you go tell his Mom? She needs to know about this."[ ] Go.[ ] Call her.
>>19297891what makes it absolutely rage inducing for me is that i thought we rolled well then i realized it was a will roll.
>>19297925Oh.Shit.Yeah.I totally forgot Will rolls are roll-over.Fuck.
>>19297924[ ] Go.Laurie Nerves of Steel!
>>19297925>>19297933>Wait what? Since when?
>>19297940i thought for will rolls high was good low was bad?
>>19297940Oh, we did do well.YOU!>>19297925Don't scare me like that!
>>19297949>The only time high rolls are good are even dice and damage dice.
>>19297954i'm sorry i just got all confused
God damit you guys dont freak me out like that
You take Dave's car, and go to her house. As you walk up to the door, you see Ari coming out."Laurie? What's up?""Something happened to Alex. I don't know, another seizure?"She freezes. "What?""I'm not sure, I came to get you and your mother."She looks afraid, and then nods. She turns back to the house and yells at her mother, who comes outside. You explain what happened. "Oh god... Laurie, can you stay here with Kate? I don't trust her by herself so soon out of the hospital."You nod, and hand Ari the keys as they go to the car. You go inside and see Kate watching T.V. "Hey Laurie." She says as she looks at you. Then she pauses. "What's wrong?""I don't know." And then you try very hard not to cry while she gives you a hug.
You are Ari Raston. And you have no idea how to drive a car.Luckily it's only a couple blocks from here, so it shouldn't be an issue.... right?>Give me a driving check.
rolled 40 = 40>>19298049
rolled 66 = 66>>19298049oh god cant Ari's mother drive
rolled 39 = 39>>19298049... Shit.Just imagine it's an AC, a four wheeled AC with different controls.
>>19298056>>19298064>>19298073Alright, so there's a GO pedal, a STOP pedal, and.... a third pedal? And a numbered joystick?Well you know that the GO pedal is the one on the right, and the STOP one is the one on the left. You opt to ignore the middle pedal. You remember Alex trying to teach you the basics. you hold down the STOP pedal, and turn the key. The car starts. You put on your seat-belt and let off the stop pedal. you bump the joystick, and now it says '3'. You hope that wasn't important. You push the GO pedal, and the car starts to move at a decent clip after a bit of a hop. You see your mother realize that you're driving as you approach the hangar. She then smiles at you. "Ari, you've been taking lesson? I didn't know you could drive stick.""Drive stick?" You ask, as you push in the STOP pedal as you approach the hangar wall.
>>19298138Wait, this is going to be bad. Clutch is on the far left, at least she didn't slam on the gas.
>>19298138You know i was hoping if people close to use died it was at least related to something we could swear eternal vengeance on
>>19298174We could... Vow hatred on stick shifts? I don't know.
You are Mooch. And you're currently wondering why you heard something that sounded uncannily like a Jeep hitting the hangar wall.Stepping outside, you see that a Jeep has indeed hit the wall. Dave's Jeep in fact.Mystery solved. Then you see Alex's Mom and Sister sitting in the car, looking slightly shocked as the car makes a terrible noise. You help them out of the car, and they seem unhurt, but you take them to Dave to make sure.He says they're fine, just shocked. You mention car wrecks tend to do that to people."What car wreck?""You didn't hear the noise outside? I guess Laurie sent them back in your car.""Sorry." Ari says in a small voice as she tries to hide behind Alex's prone form.Dave calmly excuses himself from the room.
>>19298198well at least no one died,You'd think our best friend would know better than to let our sister drive a car
You are Dave. You run outside, and see your baby wreathed in flames, engine coughing one last time. "... Oliver? No...."You drop slowly to your knees. "No. NO! NOOOO!! Why!?! Why God!?" you ask the heavens above. "WHY THE FUCK DID YOU LET ARI DRIVE MY CAR?!" You yell, bordering on incoherence. "IT WAS EARTH! IT WAS EARTH ALONG YOU DAMNED DIRTY APES!!">Seems a decent place to end for tonight. Who's ready for the after-thread?
>>19298226Poor Dave, I feel really sorry for him.
>>19298226Preemptive Vote to interview Mooch.
>>19298226SO do we get a ghostly interview with "Oliver" tonight?
>>19298225>Or her mother. Or Ari herself.>To be fair, Laurie never actually MET Alex's family until recently, and nobody was thinking too clearly due to EMOTIONS.
>>19298226We should have an interview with Mooch's Core's AI
>So who's tonight's star?[ ] Dervish.[ ] Alexander (Frost).[ ] Fraide.[ ] Dervish.[ ] Steve.[ ] Tony.>(A note for future reference, characters who were a viewpoint character that thread aren't going to be an option, or people who've been done before. And yes, that does mean that if Liz and Alex meet, you could theoretically interview one of them in the after-thread.)
>>19298266>Why is Dervish on the list twice.>I must be more tired than I thought.
>>19298282>>19298279>Why is the wrong post quoted. Fuck me, I need sleep.>After this interview I'm going to bed.
>>19298279Mooch's Core's AI, failing that go for Dervish.
>>19298282Dervish the AC pilot so nice you listed him twice,Vote for Dervish I guess
>>19298266Seconding this, if it's an option.
>>19298279Changing vote to Dervish, because Dervish.
I'm only here because I lost a bet, so let's get this over with. You have questions?
>>19298341How'd you choose the name Dervish? What's your opinion on Alex and his team? What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
>>19298341>>19298341How do you feel knowing that your Mooch (I think his name was Tony) and our Mooch are planing things
>>19298341Any favorite music genres?Favorite way to relax after a hard day+
>>19298347I didn't 'choose' the name Dervish, it was given to me by the Wolf pack's propaganda department after I scored 15 melee kills after being thrown from that one Chinese airship. If you were Alaskan you would have seen my pic along with the headline of 'the flying dervish'. If you were in the Pack, you would have seen me walking through the PR with a bullwhip explaining why putting the name and face of an intelligence/covert ops specialist is FUCKING STUPID.Alex seems like a good kid, little crazy. Nothing wrong with that though, as long as he keeps a handle on it. He's drawn some interesting eyes to him though, not counting myself.I don't really eat Ice Cream. Empty calories and sensitive teeth. I will however have the occasional Popsicle, and to head off THAT question: grape.>>19298361The closest thing we have to a Mooch is Jesse. Or more accurately the closest thing they have to a Jesse is Mooch. I'm not sure what they're planning, but I get the uneasy feeling that I'm going to have to kill it eventually.>>19298367Not in particular. I like Jazz, I guess. Vegas makes me think Rat Pack, so there's that too.
>>19298341DO you have a preference for 100% cotton sheets or cotton polyester blended sheets?
>>19298400What is your opinion on puppies? What was it like hitting 100% synch?
>>19298400What is your favorite color?
>>19298407In Vegas? I sleep on a cot, no sheets, no blankets. I'm from Alaska. I would DIE otherwise.>>19298422My family in general is big on Dogs, even my sister. Me? I've buried enough pets to not want to get attached to one of the little fuckers. Besides, too busy to make sure they're properly cared for.Hitting a full synch the first time is weird. Best thing I can compare it to is when people talk about having a sort of religious epiphany, and touching 'something greater'. But it's not really a 'greater' thing, it's you. Or an extension of you. If you've ever done fencing you'll get what I mean when I say 'after a while you don't even feel like you're wielding a sword'.>>19298440Green, actually. Not that you could tell by looking at my wardrobe.
>>19298400blond,brunet,black or red heads? If you were a tree, what tree would you be?what kind of scenery do you enjoy?
>>19298460How many men could you take on in a barroom brawl?
>>19298460In a three AC Unit squad what would your optimal set up be?
>>19298462No particular preference. Also not currently in the market so it hardly matters.Fuck trees.Getting to enjoy the desert, high visibility. Hard for someone to get the drop on you.Generally enjoy urban environments. I do my best work with/around other people.>>19298494Hard to say. I generally avoid brawls, and bars, but at the same time I'm a trained assassin. Also I'm rarely alone. Hard to tell one guys kills from another in the heat of the moment. I'm guessing like 20 or 30. By that point either someone's scored a hit, they're running away, or my arms are tired from slapping people's shit so hard.>>19298504Pretty close to what I have now Actually. Steve and Tony do a wonderful job of keeping our enemies suppressed and separated while I pick them off. you let us pick the ground and set up lanes of fire, we can hold it forever against any amount, as long as we didn't run out of bullets.
>>19298460Do you have a preference for hair styles?do you feel the leather and eating meat is cruel towards animals?Whats your opinion on space travel and planetary colonization?
>I'm vaguely surprised that nobody's asking plot related questions, given who/what Dervish IS.
>>19298532Honestly, I just love learning all the tiny minutia of a major powerhouse's life. But as a question, how is the rest of the Wolf Pack faring while you're in Vegas?
>>19298532This is all need to know stuff!Whats your Favorite Megaman Title and Series?Whats up with your Custom Megaman hackRom?do you actual use video games for training or did you just say that to fuck with Ari?
>>19298546Speaking of training, As An AC pilot how important do you feel stranded physical training is compared to hands on in Core training?
>>19298532How do you feel about Team Snaps waved entry Fees? And do you have any speculation as to why someone would want the team from Hope in this Tournament?
>>19298531Hair? On me, or somebody else? Personally I prefer something low maintenance, but what somebody does to their own head is their own business. Actually, I take that back: Other day I saw a guy with some sort of three foot tall double Mohawk in an 'X' shape on top of his head. Don't look like a fuck-nut. That's what I like in a person's hair.I would feel worse about eating animals if they weren't so damned tasty.I think it's a good idea. We're one big fucking space rock away from not existing right now, so we should probably try and do something about that.>>19298545No idea. I kinda cut ties with them when I headed south.>>19298546Probably the Zero series on the GameBoy: Portable, challenging when compared to the main games, interesting weapons variety, while still maintaining something of the style and feel of the other games.Eh, I occasionally download new ones and beat them. Sometimes I'll do commentary about what I think they did right and wrong, and people try and make a better and/or harder one for me to play. Apparently I've become something of a celebrity for it. Under an assumed name of course, old habit die hard.Believe it or not, fast based 'twitch' games do lay some of the basic groundwork for important piloting skills. It's not a proper substitute for REAL training, but it helps.
>>19298559Physical training's important. There's a reason why fighter pilots and such are always in decent shape: The machine puts you under a lot of pressure. Sudden acceleration and deceleration, extreme speeds, jarring impacts, you need to be in shape just to survive.>>19298572It's suspicious as hell, especially since they know nothing about it and the funds were moved YEARS ago. And I checked, it's not spoofed, that's when they were actually moved. As for your second question... that strikes me as exactly the sort of thing we should be thinking about now. My best guess would be high visibility. They'll be real easy to keep tabs on. Flip side, they'll also be hard to attack it they're in the public eye. Someone jumps them it'd be news immediately.
>>19298626Okay last question from this party,If you had just one piece of advise for all those newbie pilots out there what would it be?> Captcha: Perfect Madmen
>>19298648Find something else to do with your life if you can, Core piloting's a good way to get yourself killed fast.Don't let the fancy paychecks and the Razzle Dazzle fool you, you will eventually fight someone like me, and you will die.Take that kid Alex? In a real fight, as soon as he hit an open spot I would've ran him through. My core was at about half normal speed, and my synch rate was about 20 points lower than my normal.
>Any more questions from anybody?
Im kind of surprised to see that no one archived this yet, normally some one already done it by now,Any way I will see you(on the internetz) on Thursday AC-Guy you glorious Bastard you
>>19298694>I'm the one who archives it, to make sure the tags are straight. Well, usually anyway. And I don't do it until the thread's over for realzies.
>>19298701I have fond memories of you yelling at people when you see some one already archived it, oh well
>You know, there's less questions than I thought there would be.>I'm not sure if that's because /tg/ doesn't understand the implications of getting to ask Dervish questions, they don't know what questions to ask, or they just don't care.
>>19298743Hmm, do you know anything about Nineball that wouldn't be common knowledge?Anything about strange funky necklaces called self-stones?What exactly did you mean by trained assassin?
>>19298743Nah I think it has to do more with problems with 4chan tonight, i know a few of us had points where we couldnt even get on this evening
>>19298771Not too sure about Nineball. something that a lot of people don't know is that he didn't always hide his 'true' identity. The weird thing is that all evidence of his name was removed a while ago. Sadly, I wasn't even aware he existed until after it happened, so such knowledge is currently unavailable to me.Something to do with Wizards. Other than my Tarot cards I don't put much stock it 'occult' stuff.I mean I was trained as a spy and assassin. I have been specially trained in the art and science of taking people's lives in a variety of ways, for a variety of circumstances. I actually went to Japan and studied with a ninja clan at one point. Probably the only 'Gaijin' to do so in the last 50 years.>>19298774>Could be. Be unfortunate if that's the case.
>I'm gonna call it quits here. If anybody didn't get their questions in due to connection issues, I'll take them at the top of the next thread, just post them here.
Why did you leave the wolf pack? What if anything are you going to do in regards to the supposed traitor to the wolf pack?
