Sleipnir's hooves!!!! TG QUEST?!Last Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/19201649/When last we left our meddling metathinkers, they had safely defused a situation with the angered Skuld, and were debating their next move. A fair amount of information gathered left them with a list of options, and one of the Shadowrun Deckers happily reports he was able to locate Trevor's suite in a local hotel. Of course, it had to be suite number #666. Subtlety and him don't get along, it seems.Status Readout:Day: 1Current Objectives: Restore Ah My Goddess world to natural state, remove SUE infestation, repair damage to space-time.Fleet Location: Main force hiding behind the moon. Indefatigable and Al'Keshes running operations planetside. Oncoming Storm in extreme orbit for sensor support.
Hm... we -could- probably just kill Trevor now and get it over with, but it might make killing the Elemental Knights more difficult. What with our filthy lies that I am debating the merits of.
>>19231971Alright. We'll need to get some eyes around the city to shadow Trevor, and to listen in on his conversations. We may also need to scout out where the other SUEs are.Have the Abjurers cast Nondetection on a pair of Observers. This should make it very difficult to scan them by technological means or magical means. Deploy tone Observer near the hotel where Trevor is staying, and have it analyze the room where he's staying in, and see if it can shadow him and gather information from where he goes from there. See if Mara is anywhere near him at the moment.Scan for reality distortions around the Nekomi city that would match the usual profile of a SUE, ignoring Trevor and the bugs. Then scan for divine power sources in the city, particularly near shrines or such. Have the second Observer tail one of these SUEs, and see where he goes for the day.Even with the risk of detection, have the Farseers try to read the skeins of fate, and try to give us direction on where we may locate Urd. Have Tosh carefully probe for spirits that might be willing to converse with us on the current state of this universe.
Yeah I think I'm willing to risk the Farseers delicately examining the skeins.
>>19232184Wikipedia informs me that Ah! My Goddess is lousy with Shinto-type spirits, so I don't think Tosh will have much trouble in that regard.
rolled 76, 90, 32 = 198>>19232184Orders confirmed.
>>19232228So what you're saying is, the one roll in which it was really important to do well on (the Farseers) is the one we bungled?...Typical.
rolled 14, 3, 15 = 32>>19232228>>19232184One Observer flies to Trevor's hotel and waits silently outside his window, cloaked as always. He is not present, nor is Mara.Using Skuld's power signature as a baseline reading, the Storm is able to locate one extremely similar signature in a house on the outskirts of Nekomi. A pair of powerful reality distortions is also present there. The second Observer deploys to find a young man that looks strikingly similar to Keichi, if he were musclebound, talking to who must be Belldandy. A youth, looking to be about twelve, plays with an ornate spear that crackles with power behind him.The Farseers peer into the future and murmur, "The goddess of the past is caught in a bubble of the same. The rumblings of fate sealed her away alongside her corrupter and protector when the dreams of four became one. Past the Gate of Judgment, she is out of time."Tosh has no problem locating spirits. Unfortunately the reverse is also true. Simply overjoyed to find such a powerful medium, Tosh is mobbed by chattering, curious ghosts, spirits, house-gods, and others. He currently sits in an isolated corner of the ship, a miserable look on his face as he attempts to filter through the endless babble to find something useful.
>>19232197Let's just hope that there are waaayyy too many spirits for the goddesses to conceivably talk to in a day. Or otherwise tune out the one spirit that says "hey guys gusy guess what I just talked to a jamaican guy maybe he said mon a lot and he was pretty cool but also kind of spooky and..."
>>19232376>"The goddess of the past is caught in a bubble of the same. The rumblings of fate sealed her away alongside her corrupter and protector when the dreams of four became one. Past the Gate of Judgment, she is out of time."...So... she can wait?
>>19232376>A youth, looking to be about twelve, plays with an ornate spear that crackles with power behind him....Maaaaaaaaaaaaan. Even if their source fic was awful, I don't wanna kill a kid.He isn't even the self-insert type.
>>19232376Gate of Judgment- could be referring to the judgment of all souls during the Judeo-Christian end of days. Unlikely to apply here. But delving into a wiki for the Oh My Goddess series, it appears that there's a very specific "Judgement Gate" that is present. Since I don't know if linking stuff directly is okay or not, just google "Judgement Gate" and see the article under the Oh My Goddess wiki. Here's the juicy bits: [[[[ The Judgement Gate was put in place by the gods in order to test the strength of love between couple from mixed worlds. the perfect example of this is the relationship between Belldandy and Keiichi. The couple must pass through the gate without any doubt or distrust in their hearts. If their love is not pure for these reasons then they will not come out the other side together and be forced to spend their lifetimes apart. Those that pass through the gate and emerge on the otherside together will see there love embodied in utopian setting. ]]]]I'm thinking that the other Elemental Knight may have attempted to use this Judgement Gate with the enthralled Urd. But seeing as how love between canon characters and SUEs is rather forced at best, they may have been separated, and for some reason sealed in some sort of stasis outside of the normal flow of time. Consult with Gaspar, the guru of time. Ask him to work with the Farseers and our science corps, and see if there's any way we can scan or detect any time anomalies given our current technology.
>>19232376In a case of hilariously bad luck, the Observer backs up to focus better on Belldandy... only for a short robot to pop up seemingly from nowhere between them. It cranks a mechanical fist back and smashes your Observer square in the main optics array... then the fist detaches and fires booster rockets, carrying the Observer far into the sky until it vanishes from sight in a comical twinkle of light.Luckily, its transponder is still somewhat functional. You'll be able to retrieve and repair it later, when you can spare the time to send a recover team to search a large patch of Chinese wilderness.
>Gate of Judgement That little gate thing where God judges your love and blesses you if its real, splits you forever if its not?Yeah, I can see the SUE taking Urd through and getting split because its mind-control, not love. It seems like the SUEs, working together, managed to lock Urd out. Taking the other three down should release Urd, and let us take out the fourth SUE. I'm still liking the warehouse plan. We need to locate Mara for it though.
>>19232546...Well that's a bit embarrassing.
>>19232530>Tosh and the 1001 spirits.Ask them specifically if they've heard anything about demons lately. Rumblings and rumors of large-scale conflict and all of that. If possible, have some of the Farseers and/or Street Shamans from our Shadowrunner team assist Tosh in filtering out useless banter. If we have a picture of Trevor on hand, ask the spirits if they've seen him around town, and where and what times. Do the same with the picture of Mara.
>>19232562Which warehouse plan? The one with Trevor?
Fucking Banpei-kun.Have our hero-hacker shut him down. Robots are his specialty.
>>19232530"Properly calibrated, the Storm's sensors should be able to scan for it. It might take a few hours, though. Maybe even a full day. Depends."
Should we bother looking for Keiichi?Given the tangential involvement in the story, we might have an easier time of breaking the SUE control on him, which might then lead to breaking Belldandy's control as well.
Have the Storm scan for more SUE-like reality distortions, which is probably Trevor. If we can detect another one aside from the SUE brothers, deploy another Nondetected-enhanced Observer to tail them.Do our Viper drones (heroes included) have cloaking devices as standard fit?
Okay. Time for large-scale planning. Make modifications and tweaks as you see fit, guys. And don't be afraid to make more suggestions if you think something might be a good idea; that's how we came up with great plans in the past.Trevor: From Yellowman's description, Trevor appears to be the easiest of the SUEs to subdue. Separate him from Mara and slap a reality emitter field on him, and he's ours for the taking. We may even be able to use the Mirror of Truth on him to de-power him for good. We can then shut him up in a holding tank and interrogate him about what the hell is going on with the demons. Mara, while powerful, appears to have an uncontrollable urge to dance to the exclusion of anything else if rock music and/or disco is played within her hearing. She's also weak towards good-luck charms. We might be able to question her about Hell's current situation; namely, whether they're truly gearing up for large-scale conflict or not. So, we shadow Trevor, observe his daily routines, and see if he goes anywhere isolated and far away from the city during his daily routine. See if Mara remains constantly with him, or if they only meet at certain times. If there's a time when he's vulnerable, we can ambush him there and see if we can capture him.If we successfully apprehend Trevor, we may also be able to use his de-powered form as bait for the other Elemental Knights. Although this will probably force them to go as one team, unless we send a secret letter to Taiichi or something demanding a secret one on one duel. That might work real well seeing as how he's probably a shounen-fan type, but his brothers will undoubtedly follow anyway. The goddesses may also follow suit, either by scrying or by secretly tailing him.
rolled 88 = 88>>19232590You want your Drone Rigger to try and hack into Banpei? Using the Indefatigable as a relay, I take it?>>19232722No they do not. You manage to detect a weak SUE-signature and deploy an enchanted Observer post-haste...
>>19232862Technically he only has one brother, the other one was lost in that one gate. The Fourth Knight, Tom, is from a different fanfic all together. He seems to be pretty clever, and with undefined time powers. I'd say he's our biggest threat.
>>19232896Hacking Banpei will allow an observer or probe to get close enough to confirm Belldandy's location. So yeah, remote-hack.Hey, you know what? Cheryl and the Farseers are incredibly powerful psychics. Cheryl's a freaking goddess. Why don't we just have them reach out and Mind Crush the target?
>>19232944We can't just mind-crush all our problems away.
>>19232862(cont.)We'll also need to locate the other SUE, who's an absolutely overpowered SUE-ified Vindicare assassin. I think his name is "Brett". Any WH40k experts following this, please elaborate on how we might track one of these highly-trained killers.Vindicare assassins appear to shadow their targets until they have a shot at killing them with a long-range sniper round. From what I can read, they are frequently employed to target individuals who preach heresy to the Imperium's citizens; this may mean that Brett is already shadowing Trevor, and is merely waiting for the right moment to take him out. However, Yellowman's description of Brett paints him as an absolute monster in combat, but supremely arrogant and stupid. Catching Brett in a reality emitter field would dampen his powers, but we probably don't want to engage him in full-on combat. We may be able to slow him down with reality emitters and use transporter hax to do something like teleport a 1mm thick area of matter away from his brain or neck. We may even be able to inflame him into attacking Trevor if Trevor decides to get preachy. Maybe we can organize some sort of faux-rally for Trevor's type of people?
>>19232896Your Observer arrives at a refurbished old Buddhist temple. Walking around the courtyard is a muscular, tall, young man with close cut blond hair. He wears a leather jacket and jeans, and a blond woman with what look like fangs and odd marks on her forehead follow him. You easily recognize Mara. The Observer sneaks closer, undetected."I still can't believe they all just packed up and left. Except for that short wimp," the man growls. "What was a waste of a night that was.""I can't believe that wimp kept living here after he dumped his girlfriend!" Mara states. "He really WAS an idiot!""Whatever. Did you find anything?""No, nothing useful. Not even some hairs for spells."
>>19232980Don't forget that Brett is also a quarter-Saiyan.So.That's fun.
>>19232980Have someone impersonate a Commissar or Inquisitor and give him "new orders" to target the other SUEs.He might just do our work for us.
>>19232896>>19232944Skuld's may have some heavy security on Banpei. Probably heavier than the security on TC's files. If she discovers Banpei's been hacked, you can bet that she'll immediately come storming back onto our starships out for blood.
>>19233001Interesting. Keiichi is still at the temple, and Mara is looking to do some voodoo?...Time to play treachery roulette and claim to ally with them?Nah.
>>19233011Yeah that's a good point. We got lucky the first time.
rolled 15 = 15>>19232944Oh man, this is going to be good...
>>19233059Wait, I didn't think we already agreed on that! We were discussing the benefits/disadvantages of that, and I pointed out a HUGE reason why we shouldn't do that!
>>19233059Wait we're not agreed on this course of action!...Oh fuck.
>>19233059I'm sorry everyone.
>>19233084First rule about MetaQuest: METAQUEST OP IS PERFECTLY FINE WITH OUR ACTIONS DIGGING US INTO A HOLE OF TPK!!!
>>19233011>>19233034Sadly the voice of reason comes too late.Your newly promoted Drone Rigger begins his hack attempt."This is easy!" Isel claims, chuckling as he leans back in his chair and lets his cyberware take the place of clacking on a keyboard. "No black ICE, no sprites, nothing! There's just... Wait. That wasn't there before. Hey! What th- What the hell is that?! That's not- H-hacking my cyberware?!"Isel's words are suddenly cut off with a gurgle as he jerkily stands to his feet and begins pantomiming."I'm a little tea-POT! Short and STOUT!" he sings, making the familiar motions with the music. "THIS is my HAN-dle! THIS is my spout!" Isel begins to sing louder, angrily. "WHEN I GET ALL STEAMED UP, HERE ME SHOUT!"Then he suddenly gives the other crewmembers a goofy smile. "TIP! Me over and POUR ME OUT!"Then Isel clocks himself hard in the head and collapses unconscious to the floor.
Well fuck. Now we'll need to forge an intricate web of lies and twisted truth.Again.Does that Cleric have any Charisma-buffing spells?
>>19233128...He's PROBABLY not permanently braindead.I don't think the goddesses play that dirty.
After this is all over, we need to see if Skuld is willing to come aboard as tech support.
>>19233168Probably not, looks like the Canon isn't finished yet.
Guys, PLEASE think out your actions CAREFULLY before you type them out. The Observer thing was just dumb luck, but we're a day in and we're already getting heroes knocked out of commission!Bring Isel to sick bay, have them examine him for any lasting injuries or burnt out cyberware. For added insurance, have Elaine expend some mana on healing.Have the Indef ready to repel boarders. Also have Virtun and the Abjurers ready to chain-cast charisma buffs on Spike and prep Spike for transport, in case Skuld decides to come knocking again.
>>19233190Nah, I think it's time to bring out Dr. Spengler and Data. She loves science and its her job to eliminate things that distort reality (for example, the bugs). If magic didn't prevail, maybe reason will.
rolled 83 = 83>>19233190Isel is brought to sick bay, and after a few hours, it's determined his brain has been rewired in the same way a computer virus rewrites a program. It can be undone thanks to Elaine's extraordinary healing and the medical technology onboard, but it's going to take a long time. Elaine and Isel are out of action for three days while she laboriously guides healing energies into his noggin. After a while passes, there are no boarders detected.
>>19233001>>19233001Have the Storm scan the area around Mara and Trevor. Are there any reality distortions (other than Trevor) nearby? How many lifesigns are there near them? If they're relatively isolated and away from the urban city, we might be able to deal with Trevor right now.
>>19233247ANON: "I have detected and managed to purge, with some difficulty, a virus in my subsystems. Tracing the source led to a hidden file planted in the Storm's databanks through a datapulse routed through Isel's cyberware uplink to our systems. Given his cybernetics are now offline for treatment, no further infection should be possible from that source."Captcha: apotheosis regicide....not sure if clue.
>>19233260Trevor is the only one present. The temple is just outside the city limits, but not in a heavily trafficked area.
>>19233306>>19233247Well, looks like we still have a bit of luck on our side after all. It's just really bipolar and likes to fuck around with us. On the subject of luck, has Virtun already burned his re-roll power yet?
Do you guys think sending Spike down to that one temple and attempting to shake Keiichi out of whatever SUE-induced funk he's under is worth a shot?
>>19233362If we do cure manage to cure Keiichi, we might be able to get some more information on the SUEs. But he may also possibly try free Belldandy from TC's influence and succeed (power of love and all that). If this is done, TC may become unstable, as SUEs may not react real well to having their fantasy unravel around them. This could possibly place Keiichi in great danger. If we deal with the SUEs, their influence on the characters will fade. If extra work is needed to set things right, then we can give Keiichi the pep-talk he needs. But at the moment, that may not be such a great idea.
>>19233414True, but TC being unstable might be able to let us win.Since we have a shitload of magic for nullifying fire.
>>19233438Unstable also means that he's wrecking shit up and possibly attempting to burn Keiichi and other bystanders to so much dust and ash. Also going by anime logic, he'll also be several times more powerful than he normally is in his berserker state. With SUEs, normal logic doesn't really apply either. There's a reason why we don't take on SUEs in direct combat; the last time we tried that, we nearly got one of our starships destroyed, and several members of our team trapped in another canon, held prisoner by a giant talking anthromorphic mouse. >>19233326This seems like a good time to ambush them, but we'll need some precise planning to make sure that things don't go awry. Do you other guys want to save the next action for next session of MetaQuest?
>>19233382It's not even been a single day, and because of an idiot we've lost 2 Heroes for what is likely the entirety of our mission here, our reroll ability, and we just barely avoided having a virus take out the Oncoming Storm! This feels like Sapphy all over again.
>>19233382Would the d20 Cleric Spell "Heal" Fix Isel's brain?"Heal enables you to channel positive energy into a creature to wipe away injury and afflictions. It immediately ends any and all of the following adverse conditions affecting the target: ability damage, blinded, confused, dazed, dazzled, deafened, diseased, exhausted, fatigued, feebleminded, insanity, nauseated, poisoned, sickened, and stunned. It also cures 10 hit points of damage per level of the caster, to a maximum of 150 points at 15th level."
>>19233547Yeah true enough. We'll have to be really careful with taking out Rei though.I'm pretty sure most of our forces will have all kinds of qualms killing a twelve year old.And I can't blame them.
>>19233553Calm down. We just need to have people think more about consequences and less about the glory that could be gained if the action succeeds. We also need more people PROPOSING actions and discussing it with the other people before immediately telling the OP to go ahead with it.
>>19233577No. If it was that simple, then Elaine would already have him up and running. He has cyberware in his head whose firmware got rewritten by Skuld's network defenses.Honestly, whoever came up with the idea of trying to get past that level of security with no contingency plans needs to be slapped upside the head.
>>19233609Final Fantasy Cure Magic is different from D&D Cure Magic. The closest thing Final Fantasy has to the Heal spell are Elixirs and Full-Cure, which heal full HP, MP, and remove status. Heal is literally a health reset button for everything except death, and a cleric packing Scrolls of Mass Heal can literally keep the party fresher then they started the fight with a single spell.
Esuna will probably fix him. Skuld's counter-virus is acting like a massive confuse spell.
>>19233652Esuna is damn thing, and it's being applied by a Hero who specifically has special abilities that let her heal machinery and cybernetics in addition to flesh.Heal can't do that, and the rigger's cyberware was also compromised.Your suggestion is worthless because it is ill-thought out.
Tentative Plan for Trevor Ambush:1.) Transport Aurors down fairly near the temple, but still on the outskirts. Have them set up a perimeter of anti-muggle charms around the outskirts of the temple grounds. This way, we'll eliminate the likelihood of regular citizens investigating/observing what we're about to do. 2.) Get a several music players (i.e. boomboxes, mp3 players, etc.) loaded with rock music. Transport music players down near to the temple grounds. Deploy our psions near said music deployment areas. 3.) Cast nondetection on strike team. Transport strike team down near temple grounds. Strike team will be equipped with reality emitters and reality disruptors. Troop composition uncertain at this time, please make suggestions! 4.) Start playing lots of rock music, have Psions greatly amplify the sound using "Control Sound". Beam in more music players with music blaring down onto the battlefield if need be.5.) At the moment the music starts playing, have the strike team apply reality emitters/disruptors where Mara/Trevor are standing. This tentative plan may get us as far as disabling Mara and Trevor. Mara will hopefully be very pre-occupied in forcibly dancing to the rock music, as well as having her powers suppressed by liberal application of reality disruptors. Trevor's powers will likewise be negated by the reality emitters and disruptor beams being poured onto him. Now, all we need to decide is:-Do we want to ambush them now, or try at a later date?-Do we want to kill trevor, or just beam him up when he's festooned with reality emitters and try to de-power him using the mirror of truth?-What do we do with Mara afterwards?
>>19233704It's magic, I ain't gotta explain shit.
>>19233600We could try to nab Trevor now, but do we want to have to deal with him in containment for the duration of this operation? Also, we've seen it demonstrated before that a S.U.E.'s mind control doesn't end even if they're otherwise depowered by being caught within multiple reality fields, as evidenced by the Royal Pain.Mara is going to be a loose end we'll need to plan for.
>>19233727If Trevor's dead or neutralized, in theory whatever power he has over Mara will also end.Can a demon be obliviated? If not, maybe bribery?
>>19233727I kind of feel like Trevor is actually the least of our concerns.Like just so long as we're keeping an eye on him, we can focus on other matters.
>>192337271. Sounds alright2 and 4. According to meta-knowledge this should work.3. The SCP Trooper have the Reality Disruptor Rifles, so we'll need them on-scene. We should also see if we have any Aglaophotis-A gas grenades on-hand.In addition, we're going to want to have at least two Al'Kesh using their capital ship-grade reality emitters to blanket the area.We don't want to kill Trevor, or even depower him: we need him alive and intact as a test subject of our SUE-Cure research.
>>19233754She'll definitely help us take out the goddess knights, on account of them being nominally good people.>>19233767He'll be the easiest to take out of all the SUEs. Incap Mara, get him isolated, and kill. The warehouse trap is a good plan.
>>19233793The cure-research is a side project that we're not even sure will pan out. If we can capture him, fine. But I advocate aiming for a kill.
>>19233767Trevor himself is not going to cause much damage, that much I agree with. But what I'm worried about is what he's doing with Mara. Do even weak SUEs have the ability to control powerful demons? Or is Mara manipulating Trevor because he's in a position of high power and he's also kinda stupid and easily manipulated due to his hate?We may also be able to get some information on whether Hell is actually gearing up for war and is breaking age-old pacts left and right, or if that's just an exaggeration on the part of Skuld. If there's one thing that can break canon, it's Heaven and Hell going to war. Mara and/or Trevor may be able to provide us information on that. We may also be able to use Trevor as bait for the Elemental Knights.
>>19233812He's one of the weakest S.U.E.'s we've ever encountered, in a situation where we can incapacitate his bodyguard and take him alive.Only one S.U.E. has ever been taken alive in the history of the TG, and that was the one that we took from Raccoon City. Capturing Trevor will give us another valuable point of reference, and we won't have to endanger our primary research subject with certain invasive tests if we take him alive. The problem is neutralizing Mara as a threat for the duration. We could try using a binding Magic Circle against Evil to keep her trapped.
Hmm. Now that I think about it, we have a LOT of ways to bind a demon. The rock music will keep her incapped while we draw circles or whatever, and then take out Trevor. Kill/Capture, whatever. Then we hit Mara with a heavy dose of Reality Emitter to clear out any SUE taint. Then we pick her brain for info, willingly or not. If she's willing to help with the knights, she'd make a great distraction.
>>19233851True, but won't it make taking down the Knights a bit harder, without a fake-enemy for us to manipulate them with?
>>19233851We also need to have a back-up plan ready in case Mara has somehow built up an immunity to her traditional weakness for rock music and/or disco music. She's a 1st Class demon, and not immune to conventional weaponry, but still probably has horrible powers at her command. There's also the fact that we want her alive and not regenerating on another plane of existence so we can press her for information. What are the traditional ways of binding/containing/disabling powerful demons on the order of Balors and Pit Fiends?
Here's something we could try to take down TrevorENDLESS SLUMBEREnchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-Affecting]Level: Bard 5, sorcerer/wizard 6Components: V, S, MCasting Time: 1 full roundRange: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)Target: One living creatureDuration: PermanentSaving Throw: Will negatesSpell Resistance: YesAs you utter the final syllable, your foe's eyes roll up in her head. She falls, snoring softly even as she hits the ground. You put a single subject into a magically induced slumber that lasts indefinitely.Normal stimuli, such as shouting or prodding, are insufficient to wake the subject, but any damage dealt to the subject causes her to rouse immediately. The subject can attempt a new save every 24 hours to awaken early. The subject does not need to eat or drink during this time.Material Component: A pinch of black sand.
>>19233886That is a possibility. But it would mean that we lose out on a possible source of information. I suppose we could get our information from other sources, however. For example, if we summon a demon here, do we get one of the locals, or does the spell pull from the D&D Planes?MetaOP, ask the Abjurers and Vitun what kind of demon would pop out if they cast a summoning here.
>>19233944Can Vitun summon any demons at all?I thought Good characters weren't allowed, or at least the summoned creatures wouldn't obey.
>>192337271. OK2. Take him alive, show him the mirror, etc.3. I have no idea.
>>19233901Generally you make a summoning circle that contains wards against evil, possession, planeshifting, attack, and the like. Then you invoke the demon's name (true or associated) to summon it. If you did it right, the demon will appear in your circle, bound by the wards you crafted. So we could have our wizardy types set up a summoning circle and literally pull Mara from wherever she is to us. And our Abjurers are specialized at dealing with extraplanar entities, so there's not too much to worry about.
>>19233944You actually would have the option of either.
>>19233954Vitun is there to lend his knowledge of the Meta, and how it affects spells. He's been around for a while, so he's got the most experience with trying to get spells to work in vastly different Canons.
>>19233983Okay, then we don't need Mara to give us information, we can summon up a demon from the local Infernal Bureaucracy and get the information from them. And if we're feeling like being careful, we can keep them in a warded circle until the end of our operations here.We should have the Abjurers beam down and do the summoning somewhere far away from Japan, like the Yukon or the middle of Siberia. We definitely DON'T want the summoning to happen on our ships.
>>19234017Good idea.We can just grab some random 3rd-class who'll be easy to contain and cow into obedience. No need to deal with a powerhouse like Mara, even if she is incompetent. We can just Banish her to get rid of her for now. And while she'd likely be sent back to this universes' hell, it'd be funny to see her try and survive in the Infinite Abyss.
>>19234060>it'd be funny to see her try and survive in the Infinite Abyss.Funny, but against our operational protocols. So we're going to let Trevor swim around a little longer, then? And summon a demon on the other side of the planet from Japan, and get our information that way? What's our back-up plan? What contingencies should we have in place?
I just feel asleep at the keyboard, so I'm off for the night. I'll try to pick this up tomorrow at the usual time, but I might be late to the tune of 9 PM considering how work's been going.Seeya then!
>>19234084The circle will keep it bound and peaceful. Also, demons of this world want you to make a contract with them. They're not the "rip your face off" type. That said, have our Abjurers present. If it acts up, they can banish it with no problem.
>>19234161We need to be mindful that if we let the demon simply go back, it may inform its superiors about what powerful summoners we have with us. We may need to keep it contained for the duration of our mission here.
>>19234189If it's a low-level demon, could we contract it to stay with us, and therefore keep it from reporting back?Or could that result in Agrias going all Holy Knight on us?
>>19236178The demons here don't seem to be wholly evil, unlike the depictions of demons that we're accustomed to. They have a lot of power, to be sure, but they don't actively collect human souls and torture them. They're more like if the Baatezu were more concerned over getting business and making contracts than imposing their rule upon all creation. A third class demon might try to aggressively market and sell us a contract in an attempt to get a foothold into a potential new market, but we probably won't have to worry about having to make human sacrifices or such. Agrias will probably be OK with this, as long as we explain that we just need to get information in an attempt to prevent a celestial war from erupting.
>>19234084Well, making our move against Trevor and neutralizing him would be simple. The complicated part is having to deal with Mara afterwards. We could easily put her out of commission for one day by killing her mortal body, but she'll be rather pissed after she regenerates. The D&D binding spells might work, but we'll need something that can bind high-level demons for at least a week or so.
>>19232546Banpeihammered right in the face. Ow!Dammit. That Observer just got totally Skuld-ed. Luckily for us, killing/destroying is very, VERY low on the OMG! list of "things to do to those that annoy you".I know this sounds odd, but may I make a suggestion? Send VP-98 down and make friends.Yes, you heard me. FRIENDS. This is a canon where being a Nice Guy (er, bot) is going to help in buckets, and resolving this without killing (or at least, with as little killing as possible, SUEs included) is going to be going with the flow. And oddly enough, a relatively obvious "observer" is going to do better here than a skulking one Banpei is just going to pummel anyway. Plain sight.
>>19236915>The complicated part is having to deal with Mara afterwards.Hence letting him go for now and dealing with him last. We get the information concerning the military buildup in Heaven and Hell from some other demon we summon. Or angel. >>19236937Besides being against operational protocols, I don't see any way for us to be able to free the goddesses from their enthrallment without the termination of the S.U.E.'s. And what exactly is making friends going to do for us? We are not here to make friends, ours is not a mission of exploration and peace.Ours is a mission of stabilization and war, to neutralize reality distortions by lethal force and to fight back against incursions by hostile Meta-Factions.
>>19237022Actually, it's more that the OMG! universe is about Balance with a capital B. Be open and good, karma happens. Be sneaky and conniving, you get what's coming to you.Our Observer's trip to China is a perfect example of this. Not to mention that Keiichi Morisato and Belldandy being together in and of itself isn't just a cheesy romantic plotline- it's actually part of what ends up holding the entire universe together. Yes, seriously.Going straight to the kill shot here is actually more likely to cause more damage than good, a lot like the Goddeses bug-whacking without figuring out what's generating the bug in the first place and mitigating it.My theory here is our SUEs are actually in a sense leeching off of their respective "patrons". Find out what binds them, break THAT, restore balance, and Judge Not Lest the Almighty Judges Us.If we're here, there is zero chance we haven't been noticed by the supreme being of the Canon, especially if someone as relatively ditzy as SKULD popped in on our ship. Work with more Canonical methods here and we'll get far better results and much fewer casulties.
>>19236937We might be able to get some information from Banpei if that works... assuming that there's a way a Viper Droid and some sorta Goddess-robot construct can communicate and understand each other. Banpei is never far from Belldandy, and it might be tricky for VP-98 to get to Banpei alone.
>>19237198Except that we CAN judge, because we are Meta. It is our right and our responsibility to do so.We are Meta and we have no need or requirement to follow the dictates of a given Canon insofar as it is necessary to stay hidden from the Plot characters. As for what is binding the four goddesses to the S.U.E.'s, they're bound together because that's what the S.U.E.'s want. They've suborned Yggdrassil in order to get to where they are, they've enthralled the four goddesses, and displaced the proper course of events. You lack the resolve to do what needs to be done in order to bring order back to this Canon.
>>19237319If nothing else, we can consult with the Farseers again and have them divine which method would be most appropriate here for dealing with the SUEs. Do we need to change the way we operate now in order to minimize damage to this canon while neutralizing the SUEs, or is there something else that we're missing entirely?Taking out SUEs quietly and carefully is what worked so far. But all the SUEs we've dealt with were aggressively attempting to impose their will upon the canon (the Royal Pain, Sapph, Wesker too in a sense). Trevor seems to be cut of the same cloth, but these Elemental Knights just want a peaceful life. Not to mention that they're bound to the goddesses in this canon; when we confront them, the goddesses will inevitably follow. If we successfully put them down in front of the goddesses, it may traumatize them in a big way. Even if the SUEs suddenly disappear and are never heard from again, there still may be a residual effect on the goddesses' psyche that needs to be dealt with.
>>19237319*sighs* What I'm saying is that if we work as much within the Canon as possible, we'll get better results for less effort. We're messing with some of the literal pillars of creation here in-canon- for all that Belldandy, Skuld, and Urd are incarnate on the mortal plane they are the literal anchors of the Canon's past, present and future. And they're being twisted already by the SUEs, who turned this place into the beginnings of a divine war between Hell and Heaven. Push more along the same lines (ie, just blow the shit out of things) and the collateral damage might well create even worse distortions if not critical and irrevocable Meta-Contamination.We might flip the whole Canon straight into the hands of the New Chaos. These knots need to be untied, not cut in two.
>>19237500And it's that attitude of unprofessionalism and the inability to separate your feelings from the job at hand that will only drag us down. Our job is to be the surgeons that excise Meta-contaminants in as fast a manner as possible without destroying the Canon. Terminating the S.U.E.'s will cause the old patterns of the Canon to re-assert themselves, and wipe away non-Canon memories. What you suggest is some untried and untested hokey homeopathic remedy.
We always have the option of isolating the SUEs and blowing them to hell, if it comes to that. We've become exceedingly efficient at it. I am leery of violently disposing of the SUEs right in front of the goddesses, however; when Bell started to experience truly malicious feelings for someone, bad shit started to happen. I can't imagine the damage that would occur if we were to kill someone she's emotionally attached to (forcibly or not) when she's watching.>>19237500What exactly do you propose we do, then? Outline your plan, and we'll see if it's worth a shot.
>>19237559Pssh. When we were on Horrorworld, I was all for PURGE AND BURN. These SUEs are more like a cancerous tumor- if we excise them with an axe instead of a well-placed scalpel, we do the "patient" more harm than good. The SUEs here are creating a feedback cycle of distortion- both in existing and the fact that they're parasitically attached to the entities responsible for the stability of the Canon. Opportunistic non-Canon forces have already taken advantage of this, and are likely posed to take further advantage should we create more distortions via traumatizing the Three Sisters.Having the Ruinous Powers shove themselves into this Canon because we blasted our way through the SUEs that gave them the opportunity to begin with would be a mission failure. We need to surgically separate the SUEs from their power source- the Sisters - and if we can convince the Sisters to do so, all the better.Accidental "oops, love!" happens in this universe all the time. Screwed up wishes, potions, spells and other mis-charms. I'm betting that presented the right way, the SUEs themselves will end up derping while Belldandy and company do most of the work FOR us. After all, we can drive the wedge that Belldandy at the Gate was the Almighty saying "Hey, these guys aren't kosher!".Skuld's the easiest one. She's overprotective, easily pushed, and capable of some wild actions of great potency when convinced she's right about something- and the most vulnerable to "logic".On the other hand, shooting the whole lot up is likely to cause immense collateral damage, including to US. Why spend blood and gold when we can get what we want otherwise?
>>19237847Then outline an actual plan to go along with your softer approach.Terminating each S.U.E. when they have been isolated from their goddesses with a well-aimed single bullet from nowhere is far more likely to succeed than any overly complex plan involving immersing ourselves in the tropes of this Canon's genre. The planning for the Tokyo and Kyoto battles in Vaderworld worked because the plans were simple and had very specific goals that they were to accomplish at each point along the plan, with contingencies prepared. If you want to use tropes as bait, or as a cover story, that's fine. But if the medical analogy, I'm advocating that we use a laser scalpel and anesthesia to excise the cancer. All you're suggesting is that we pray real hard, and maybe light some incense and hope the cancer goes away.
>>19237960Not the person you've been replying to, but I'm not going to lie, you sound like a jackass who is going to get all our soldiers killed.Like you're pretending to be the Imperium, and just straight-up ignoring anything the various cosmic entities have to say, just like Black Ops ignored our Farseers.Do you honestly think that just because we're the Player Characters means that we are immune to hubris? Have some fucking self-awareness.
>>19233001As you discuss what action to take, Mara and Trevor continue to search the temple grounds. Finally Trevor roars in frustration and punches a wall."This is a waste of time! There's nothing here!" he turns, fuming to Mara. "At least tell me you got rid of the body.""I buried it beside the cherry tree. We might have a use for it later, so I decided not to just burn it," Mara nods. Trevor sighs."All right, let's get back to the hotel for now. Plan our next move."With that, Mara blinks and the two vanish, reappearing in the suite under the watchful eye of Observer #1.
>>19238256And you are going to get our soldiers killed because you're too enamored by your own sense of self-righteousness that you'll fall victim to the same tropes that you say you're avoiding. As for what the various other cosmic entities, they have their own agendas and their own sets of ethical guidelines. You blindly trust in them without considering that they're just manipulating us.
>>19238314Have the Indefatigable scan the area indicated by Mara, and see what's been buried. Prepare to beam up the body into the Indefatigable's medbay under a Class 10 Forcefield. Have Dr. Lazarus and an EMH standing by.
>>19238314Body?...Beam that shit up and ready a Resurrection.
>>19238314MetaOP, now that we've got a Meta Comm Array, can we have ANON send an information request to the TG Archives for all case files and reports involving Fixers and instances when the BPI had attempted to change a Canon for the better, before they realized how that only made the problem worse?
Okay it has been awhile for me, Who are we after and what is our team.
>>19238323Your ignorance is astounding. In this canon, there is a computer as big as the universe. We have already been seen by Skuld and Banpei.Do you really think that we have evaded the gaze of the Almighty?Do you think he's going to say that we can do whatever we want due to not being from around here? And have you done the slightest bit of research as to who Philemon and the Avatar are?
Remove the SUE's hands. The source of the knights' power is a ring on their hand according to the fanfic.
>>19238362Last thread had a recap: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/19201649/Also our staff and stuff:http://pastebin.com/HGsJUZZbhttp://pastebin.com/UpKiRZnh
>>19238379Nailed it. Do we gave a dossier or dump on this canon?
>>19238400Wait, I can't tell if you're agreeing or disagreeing with me.Are you saying Nailed it as in you do believe that even though we are on the Yggdrasil's grid, we can still do whatever we want with no ill consequence?
>>19238379And what is the Almighty going to do? In fact, what has the Almighty even done to fix the problems caused by the S.U.E.'s being here? And yes, I have the research on Philemon and the Avatar.Philemon is still a Meta-Entity that, while he generally works for the good of and advancement of Humanity, still plays the long game and will use us as pawns in his plans. The Avatar is the culmination of the Virtues and until he merges with the Guardian, pure Good. But he also recognizes the need to fight evil, and that he does not have full knowledge of the fight against the S.U.E.'s.
>>19238390According to the fanfic, anyway. But wouldn't that involve engaging the SUE's in direct combat? How are we going to cut their hands, or at least their fingers, off?
>>19238441Let's put it this way. If we can come in here and fix things, the Almighty HAS done something. This kind of Canon, the gods are quite able to allow for heroic deeds...or hubris.Minus their power sources, these SUEs are just ordinary men and women, and in turn studying those SUE power sources should give us plentiful research material in learning how to sever a SUE from the Canon by more direct and effective means than simply trying to carbonize them.Forget killing the SUEs. We need to either neutralize the rings, sever their links to the Sisters, or ideally the latter followed by the former. For now, we need to see what Mara left under that cherry tree...and with our luck, we probably have a ghost tied to said tree for good measure.
>>19238577I think you're focusing on the rings too much. The characters already had the ability to change the course of the story before they got their rings. Also, no other S.U.E. we encountered has required an item or anything besides their own will and existence to draw power from. Taiichi already saved Belldandy from muggers when she should have been able to convince to stop their life of crime on her own, she had already started to fall for him, and Keiichi dumped Belldandy, all before he got his ring.
>>19238339>>19238346>>19238357You scan down and transport up a still decomposing corpse of a young man of Japanese descent from a gravesite near the cherry tree. You can make that request, yes. Do you want to?
>>19238710>bodyRun the face through our database of Canon characters for the Ah! My Goddess Canon.Have Doc Lazarus and the EMH attempt to stop all decomposition until we can decide whether to resurrect the person now, of if we should wait till later.>info requestYes, make the request, as well as known S.U.E. properties, and if any have exhibited a reliance on an item of any kind before.
>>19238734The face is pretty well decomposed, but thanks to your advanced medbay technology, your computers can generate an image of what he looked like pre-mortem.>>19238734ANON begins downloading the files.
>>19238710Might as well. Also, decomposing?Trevor made it sound like Mara just buried the guy.
Well... Umm... perhaps we should dig him up? If it is Keiichi then not reviving him would make it very hard to restore cannon. One thing, I wonder if we can use the goddess's teleportation mediums to our advantage. That way we could separate them. E.g. If we have a (fake) bad guy say "if you don't come here [goddess] the something bad is going to happen" while standing in front of a mirror/full bathtub/(what urd uses to teleport)
>>19238777Well then.Let's bring Mr. Morisato back to the land of the living.I have a feeling things just got interesting.
>>19238777>Keiichi MorisatoWell this is just fucking fine. We could resurrect him now, but we'd have to Obliviate his memories of the Indefatigable's medbay later. I think we should put him in storage for now, and get working on that summoning in the Yukon, or Siberia, or an abandoned apartment in the Florida Keys (if we're going to put the Abjurers on 24-hour demon/angel containment watch, we might as well put them in a nice locale).
>>19238777Before we do anything to the body, have the EMH and Doc Lazarus estimate time of death, and use non-destructive methods to determine cause of death. How decomposed are we talking here?
>>19238832Eh, we can erase his memory whenever we want. For now I want him alive again to tell us how long ago he died.Trevor made it sound like he and Mara spoke with Keiichi recently. But this body has been dead for a while. To me, this seems like a mystery. And I fucking hate mysteries.
>>192388682 days worth.>Meta OP cannot into forensics.Cause of death seems to be a crushed throat and snapped neck. Fingermarks are embedded into the flesh. And break's over, back to work. Be back at 8 or 9.
>>19238777Well shit. Looks like his luck ran afoul of the TG dice gods. What and who would be so interested in killing Keiichi? Was it the SUEs? Or did he simply decide that life wasn't worth living anymore?I'm seconding the motion to have our medical staff analyze possible causes of death. Try to leave the body as intact as possible while doing so.
>>19238927Unless Keiichi is strong enough to break his own neck with his bare hands, I think this might be a murder. But I'm curious as to the motive.I mean in theory he's already removed from play.
>>19238892I want the RVF-25 to break lunar orbit and Jump to 2 light-days out from Earth, and collect extreme high-definition optical light from Earth so that the computers of the Task Force can reconstruct what happened at the Morisato Residence.Even if we revive Keiichi, we can't be sure that he'll know who his assailant was. We'll need Vitun to cast Resurrection on Keiichi, and then we can begin questioning him on who killed him, and why. We can prepare a cover story to make him more cooperative, or tell him a slightly white-washed version of the truth and Obliviate his memories as necessary before we go.Finally, if we're going to collect information on the current status of Hell, should we also summon an angel to get information regarding Heaven?
>>19238984We should also see if we can collect fingerprints from Keiichi's neck before we ressurect him, just in case the healing portion of the spell erase the fingermarks. I'm not sure if we can collect any real positive identification for the fingerprints, but it never hurts to have a piece of evidence.
>>19238984I'd lean towards yes for both summons. A 3rd class demon should be simple to subdue and/or contain.I'm not sure if there are angels in the traditional sense available to summon. From what I read on the wiki, angels are more like familiars for Gods/Goddesses rather than independent beings. We either need to contact a low-level God/Goddess or some sort of spirit that has a connection to Heaven. As for Keiichi, if we're leery about resurrecting him, we can also have Virtun use "Speak with Dead". It'll allow him to question Keiichi's corpse (literally). We'll be able to ask the corpse TEN (10) questions within twenty minutes, although the answers will probably be cryptic and terse.
>>19238955Murdering Belldandy's One True Love?First off, get a good read on those finger marks. That level of strength might literally have left partial fingerprints and quite possibly DNA, and certainly a hand pattern we can match to the killer. With that much strength, it might even have left readable marks on the bone. Mara is suspect #1 of course, but a patsy might have been involved.Second, get Tosh's ass up here pronto. The body and that tree are prime anchors for a spirit. We want to know where what's left of Morisato on the Other Side and the most straightforward routes to contacting it.Third, Gentle Repose on the body. Preservation will give us more accurate forensic analysis. Speak with Dead is also advised- we might be able to find out what Mara was looking for. Resurrection should be paramount but is going to set off alarm bells left and right in Yggradsil's systems when we do it. He's flagged in their databases. We will get attention and we'll get it in spades. Having all the information laid out when it arrives is paramount.Fourth, Keiichi has a sister and both parents alive and the odds of him being reported missing are very, very good considering he was an actively employed and fairly social fellow. We should make inquiries. They might provide some clues here, especially in the motorcycle club Morisato was active in. If they killed him for something he had, it's possible that item was stashed somewhere outside the temple.
Well we could just say that someone hacked into the Yggdrasil computer and is altering reality for their own purposes. That is sort of whats happening. We could turn Maria to our side by saying "do you remember the time when Taiichi purified you? Well if you join us we will help you get your revenge."It's a pity we don't have the helm of opposite alightment.
>>19239119So what you're saying is that it's time to do some serious detective work?Would Mara even have fingerprints?
>>19239136Actually that's a good point. If Mara was purified, how is she working with Trevor?
>>19239136Hell, Peorth's knight, Tom, already -did- hack Yggdrasil to erase himself from its records.
>>19239076We could summon a god or goddess 3rd Class, Category Two, Limited. That will limit their powers to a controllable degree. But there appear to be multiple agencies within the Celestial Bureaucracy; which agency should we summon from?
>>19239185Well skurd told us that she went back to hell to turn evil again.
>>19239165>detective workWell, then it seems like it's time to bust out all of our faked Tokyo Metropolitan Police credentials, and Douglas' American Exchange Officer ID that we had prepared the last time we did some detective work.
>>19239136Speaking of this, I'm surprised as Hel (single L) the death hasn't set off alarm bells already. Because frankly, this is enough in-canon to cause the divine equivalent of WW III.And don't worry too much about Morisato. He's been everywhere from Nifelheim to five-dimensional space, and defines "pure soul" in a way that would make most demons suffer spontaneous tooth-rot from the sweetness. Mind fuckery may be a Bad Idea anyway. The Sisters would know, and we can probably even get them to help if it's REALLY needed.
>>19239119As I recall, Keiichi's sister (Megumi, I think her name was?) also has a 3rd class Earth Spirit watching over her. While he's no god, he may be more in tune with the divine than the myriad Shinto spirits that are essentially spamming Tosh's brain with twitter updates.
>>19239326Maybe what Taiichi is doing is some kind of identity theft for Keiichi?Like Keiichi inexplicably rejected Belldandy, and everyone likes 'TC' just fine.So somehow Taiichi's SUE aura is convincing Yggdrasil that he counts as Keiichi?
>>19239340But that doesn't explain how the other knights are charming the other goddesses. Also, if the vindicare is what's causing the portals to the Warhammer Canons, isn't he a higher priority, since the portals are letting Chaos and the Warp enter this Canon?Or are we still supposing that Urd might have been dragged through one of the portals?
>>19239319Well be also should place people in the fake police uniforms at certain points to prevent people from comming in the temple but this should be kept descrete. We don't know what will happen if any of the goddesses's find out that Keiichi's dead. Hide the mirrors and try to drain any standing water.
>>19239368Setting up a police cordon would just make the problem worse. If anyone comes to the temple, they'll just think Keiichi is out, since the body isn't there, but in our medbay.
>>19239219If we want ones with proper World-Tree expertise? Ere, Ex, or Crono (no, not the mute guy from the RPG). They're part of the staff there, and we don't even have to summon them per se- just use the local equivalent of divine communications. Heck, if you can Speak to what's left of Morisato, he knows the literal phone number to Heaven, as it were.(
>>19239364I think our best bet is that Urd is either in >>19232530 or in the Forgotten Realms.Plus I'm pretty sure she's the daughter of the queen of Hell, and her missing is what could be agitating the demons. But you're right, if stopping Brett will stop the portals, then he is our biggest priority. Also I want intel on Brett and Tom.I don't like the idea of them doing things we don't know about.
>>19239456Forgotten Realms? Shit. That has a SUE that has actually managed to infest the canon. Elminster.
>>19239400Problem is, at some point something divine is going to notice- and Skuld is high on that list now - and if they find out....Well, do you want a pissed off Goddess of Technology going Hammer Time on our fleet? With those damned SUEs right along with her? The second we teleported that corpse into our medbay, we've started a timer. Find out what we can, find it out fast and don't mind burning the extra effort to do so if it means faster, and if you can find someone who knows proper Shinto rites for the dead, perform them. Hiding from the Canon powers is already a mockery considering our prior visit, co-ordinating with them is likely the wisest option. Unless you want to take what's left of Morisato right now and meta-transit it out of the Canon entirely here- but that might make reviving him tough.
>>19239544Pssh. Elminster's not a SUE, just a Mary Sue (literally, since he once was a woman). Pain in the ass, but not a walking reality distortion.Urd, on the other hand...if there's any place someone like her wouldn't stick out so much, it's the Realms- but a new deity on the planescape is going to get SOMEONE's attention out there.(explains the increasing bug count, too- Urd's the sysadmin for the World in OMG! Canon.)
>>19239554The proper Shinto rites for the dead send the soul beyond the river of death. That's going to cause just as much of a problem, if not worse, in the celestial databases since that would confirm his death and a soul would be popping up where it's not supposed to be.
>>19239544Goddammit, not this shit again. A S.U.E. is only a S.U.E. if it creates a reality distortion. If it doesn't, then it's not our place to interfere with it, regardless of the quality of the writing.
>>19239614That's true. Like I'm pretty sure the plan is to bring Keiichi back to life eventually.Performing the Shinto burial rites will probably interfere.
Let's get on with it.Perform forensics, I want to as much as much as Keiichi deceased physical form can tell me. See if you can get fingerprints.Tosh, stop talking to the resident kami and interrogate Keiichi's spirt, seeing how inefficient the heavens are in this canon I assume he is still waiting for death to show up.White mages, I want to see if you can bring him back, don't do it yet. I just want to know if you can.
>>19239768He's too far gone for the White Mages, but Vitun should be able to bring him back without problems. And he's already on the Indefatigable right now.
>>19239786While we're at it, Morisato's also a smart cookie. Alive or dead, he might well have some insights on this whole clusterfuck that can get us in closer. And considering one of the S.U.E. literally writefucked him out of his wish, motivation!
>>19239810Well, that depends on if the S.U.E.'s mind control is still in effect. Keiichi is the one that dumped Belldandy in the fanfic. If he's still playing out his part in the fanfic's story, then he won't care.
>>19239857That's my point. The S.U.E. set up the whole thing in the first place. Morisato's breakup, quite possibly the "fight" that landed Belldandy (a Goddess First Class, FFS) in the hospital? There's a reason this fucker's a major reality distortion. He's been setting this up with clumsy brushstrokes on reality that would make a even a Shipper facepalm at the sight.
>>19239857Well the author of that shitty story never bothered to give a decent explanation for why Keiichi would dump Belldandy.Maybe just asking him why, and him being unable to come up with an answer, will cause him to break free?
>>19239691I'm thinking along the lines of the wake, where the spirit is placed in a reiji, or spirit vessel in preparation for the burial of the body, and a priest that chants and prays for the soul of the deceased. Obviously, we're planning on reviving him, but keeping him in comfortable surroundings (for a ghost) is probably a good idea.
>>19239941Until they remove it and start using it to smash some heretical skulls in.
Well since we got some plan for Keiichi's body. All there to do now is to:Wait for OPWell I don't have any of those "waiting for op pictures" What is the plan for the others, since we are on a timer should we start neutralising Trevor and attempt to get Hild working with us?On yea and make sure there are no mirrors were Keiichi's body is. I am still paranoid about Belldandy coming in.
>>19240111Trevor is pretty low on the priority list right now. Brett needs to be neutralized somehow so that the Warhammer portals will close. But I doubt that anything short of death will close them. Some people think that removing the rings from the four knights will nullify their powers, but given past encounters with SUE's, I think that's not going to work. We've seen SUE's react violently when their world views have been threatened, and I don't expect any different from this batch. SUE charms seem like they aren't affected by regular spells, since Skuld didn't show any signs of the control on her being broken when we tried using a protection from evil spell on her.
>>19240111Maybe I can help with that.
>>19240325I kind of feel that due to the unique circumstances with Yggdrasil, we might be able to stop the SUE charm at the source.Like in theory, the SUEs should show up the same way Bugs show up.
>>19239326In addition, you would think that Keiichi canceling his contract with Belldandy would also have disastrous repercussions.
>>19240550And where is the source? How are you going to neutralize their charm?I don't think that mucking about in Yggdrassil's databases is the answer, and that it will only make our mission harder to accomplish.
>>19240550As far as we know, SUEs are a bit of an enigma. Nobody knows how they come into existence, but they were apparently human (or mortal) at one point with no special powers. But somewhere along the line, they were able to travel into the Meta and they gained reality-warping powers of varying degrees. And they apparently really really really suck at writing stuff.
>>19240662>but they were apparently human (or mortal) at one point with no special powers. That's not in the fluff about the setting that was discussed in the threads where the setting was put together. S.U.E.'s are created when fanfic authors in the real world write a Mary Sue or self-insert fanfic, and it destabilizes a Canon because the story revolves around the Sue. If you're referring to the depowered Sapphy, that could just as easily be what a depowered S.U.E. looks like, their original author, rather than the author themselves.
>>19240720Oh. My mistake.Since we've beamed Keiichi's corpse up, do you think we should create a facsimile of it using replicator materials, and then beam it down to where it was before? It might buy us a little bit of time in case Trevor/Mara want to use Keiichi's remains for re-animating or some other fell purpose.
>>19240829The replicators aren't big enough, even if we don't worry about errors in the molecular structure. We could grow a clone body in the regeneration tanks, but that takes weeks to accomplish.
Alright. In that case, we'll probably end up using Speak with Dead on Keiichi's remains. We get 10 questions over a 20 minute time span. What should we ask him?My questions:1.) How did you die?2.) What did the individual or individuals who killed you look like?3.) Did you see any other entities while you died, excluding your killer?4.) Can you describe what your killer or killers said up to the moment leading to your death?
>>19241030Also, we should remember this concerning Speak with Dead: The corpse's knowledge is limited to what it knew during life, including the languages it spoke. Answers are brief, cryptic, or repetitive, especially if the creature would have opposed you in life.If the dead creature's alignment was different from yours, the corpse gets a Will save to resist the spell as if it were alive. If successful, the corpse can refuse to answer your questions or attempt to deceive you, using Bluff. The soul can only speak about what it knew in life. It cannot answer any questions that pertain to events that occurred after its death. If the corpse has been subject to speak with dead within the past week, the new spell fails. You can cast this spell on a corpse that has been deceased for any amount of time, but the body must be mostly intact to be able to respond. A damaged corpse may be able to give partial answers or partially correct answers, but it must at least have a mouth in order to speak at all.
>>19241030Why did you split with belldandy? (He's potentially a weapon against belldandy, or at least a shield. The more info we have the better)Would you object to being resurected?
>>19241537I don't think we need to ask that last question - Speak with Dead re-animates the corpse and allows it to recall living memories and act as a read-only corpse. We will not be communicating with Keiichi himself, who has either passed on or is lingering on the mortal coil as a restless spirit.
Is it meta(!) knowledge to know that keichi is respected by at least one member of new chaos?Furthering on from that, is it meta to use knowledge of the open door and its predecessor in this quest?
While we wait for OP, care to discuss potential recruits?
>>19242200All fiction, fan or otherwise, is ours to peruse. Knowing of the Open Door is no different than knowing about the source fics these 'Goddess Knight' chucklefucks.
>>19242253Alrighty... let's just think on what our force is missing right now.I think we're pretty good for now as far as research goes. Although more researchers will undoubtedly speed up the rate at which we discover things. One thing that really got us, though, were enemies that could drain magic power. The echo of Queen Zeal nearly caused a TPK due to her creative game mechanics of having attacks that reduced MP to 1 and HP to 1. If we get some support heroes who can inherently regenerate a lot of magic power and then either shunt that magical energy to our casters or something like that, it would greatly increase the longevity of our White Mage corps. We may also need heroes or units who are particularly adept at either attacking divine entities or hiding things from them. We're also going to run into WH40k Chaos sooner or later, and so we'll need troops who can protect us from mind-altering effects and corrupting effects.
>>19242548On that train of thought, we need to apply Mind Blank and teleport interdiction to our ships.Mind blank will basically make us invisible to scrying and the other is obvious.
>>19242548I know of a sorceress That is capable and willing to bring down god like entities, there are just two problems, one she suffers from some Machiavellian megalomania, and two she is trapped in stone as of now, her name is Xandrahttp://pinkpt.com/neodex/index.php/Xandra
>>19242548The d20 Cleric. Give him a handy haversack and a shitton of Mass Heal scrolls. "MP is 1? Okay, even if you find a way to apply that to Vatican casting, I have a pocket dimention full of magical scrolls that work anyways."
>>19242548Well, with regards to New chaos, they fear reality warpers. And they primarily use exceptionally equipped troops but they have limited numbers. They also field daemons, possessed and anybody they've converted, in the fic there is a TSAB character they've corrupted. With regards to anti chaos, would a culexus assassin or some sort of individual with the pariah gene be at all useful? With regards to magic manipulation, perhaps a planeswalker who specialises in blue magic?
>>19242727We do have silencers. that should help.
>>19242727We could recruit Cain and Jurgen
I called it. They let me out a little after 9 again.Sorry to be late, gents. Give me a moment to catch up.
The RVF jumps out and begins collecting light as Virtun casts Speak with Dead over Keichi's corpse."How did you die?" Virtun begins."I was choked to death," the corpse replies."What did the individual or individuals who killed you look like?" Virtun continues."Tall blond man of germanic descent," the corpse answers."Did you see any other entities while you died, excluding your killer?""Mara was there too.""Can you describe what your killer or killers said up to the moment leading to your death?""He said I was a wimp and he could kill me if he wanted to, that he could do anything and no one was going to stop him," the corpse replies."Why did you leave Belldandy?""I don't know.""Would you object to being restored from death to life?" Virtun asks."No," the corpse mouths.>>19240720>>19240662That is the official explanation, sure. The official one, anyway.
>>19242928We can probably Resurrect him.By the way MetaOp. Can ANON tell at what point in the story this canon originally was or whether it was TV, OVA, Manga, or Movie canon?
>>19242928Do you have any memory of meeting a... being that looked like a man, who called himself Lars?
>>19242928>>192429287.) Could you describe any strange happenings in the past few weeks, even taking into account that you reside with three goddesses and wacky hijinks ensue almost every other day?8.) If you were contacted by any divine agency (Hel or Heaven) in the past few weeks, could you describe who they were and what they said to you?
>>19243041How long ago did you and Belldandy split up?Do you remember meeting a professor named Tom, on the night of a big storm?
So: Low-class demon summoning and Low-class god/goddess summoning.Where are we going to perform the summoning rituals? What precautions are we going to take as far as restraining these beings or ensuring their discretion? What are we going to ask them in particular aside from "what's going on in heaven?" and "is hell really gathering their forces for a direct assault on heaven and/or the mortal realm?"
>>19243100It kind of seems like too big a risk. This would be much easier if we knew whether or not the Celestial/Infernal Bureaucracy was Meta-Aware.
>>19243083Actually, nix these.
>>19243118Well, if we go off the open door, they are not. They are aware of alternate realities, but only the ones they have access to and regulate.Whether or not this is canon here, I do not know.
>>19243177Well, main line universe has multiple dimensions. That's where the Judgement gate is. Another dimension. Hel and Heaven are also other ones. We'd have to check.
>>19243007Distortion too vast to accurately pinpoint.>>19243020"No.">>192430417.) "Yes."8.) "Yes."
>>19243237Fucking literal answers. We can't ask if he can do something, we have to ask him to do something.
>>19243237I suggest we deploy Ryu down to the surface with a Reality emitter and a Disruptor Pistol. "Do not be seen. Do not kill civilians. Only kill the bugs. If the SUEs show up, do not engage, time stop and withdraw."This way, we can build some Karma since this world loves it so much.
>>19243237"yes"...And that is why you never fucking say 'could' when asking questions like this.Although him not meeting Lars means that this isn't the exact canon that crossed over with the Open Door.Which is very very good news.
>>19243279Do we really need to tell Ryu to not kill civilians? He seems like he's a pretty good guy.
>>19243294It never hurts to be sure when dealing with ninja. Especially ones from the 8 Bit Dystopia universe.
Fuuuuuuuuuu.....Before we resurrect Mr. Morisato, should we go and see if Tosh can locate Keiichi's spirit around somewhere? It sounded as if he was wracked by longing and regret, and those are two of the main ingredients for a restless spirit. Also, do you guys want the Farseers to divine what we should do next and/or how we can find Brett?
>>19243282Well, if skuld is here and more importantly hasn't aged, then it is unlikely to be the same canon.
>>19243279"The Disruptor isn't an insult to your skills, Ryu. We're just offering you another ranged attack option, and perhaps an even more effective one. Also, if you see anything useful or out of the ordinary don't hesitate to call it in. We've found that little details can be painfully critical. If you come across anyone armored like the Knights Inductor call it in immediately."We should give Ryu a tricorder or something so he can have a feed into the Storm's sensors and can track the bugs in the manner of his choosing.>>19243377The SUEs are giving off reality distortions we can detect from orbit. They're not hard to track down. Some Auror scrying wouldn't be remiss, though. Make sure they're shielded just in case of Chaos stuff being nearby.
>>19243451Ryu nods. "I was getting restless anyway."Tosh cannot locate Keichi's spirit, despite it having all the necessary ingredients for ghosthood.
>>19243451Orbital is find, but I want to know the local whereabouts of Tom and Brett.
>>19243541Oh great. His soul'd probably been bound by Mara then. We could attempt a Ressurection to be sure, but if it is bound, it's a wasted spell.
>>19243451Let's get to SUE-scanning, then. Let's have the Storm scan for reality distortions on the order of SUE-magnitudes, disregarding the ones we've discovered already. If he's anything like the regular Vindicare assasins, though, he may have gear that specifically hides him from such detection. >>19243541Hmm. That either means that his spirit was captured or he's passed on. A resurrection could possibly tip off celestial authorities, or at the very least have them take us much more seriously than they have been before. While resurrecting Keiichi is a certainty, we do not know if we can keep him safe until the SUEs and Mara are dealt with, seeing as how Skuld was able to 'port onto our ship without much trouble. Although I suppose that warping several light years away from Earth could help keep us out of reach from all but the most powerful deities.
>>19243594Also do the "space-time anomaly" scanning to look for Urd.
>>19243571We do have one question left for Keiichi's remains. We could ask him "Did Mara perform any actions during or before your killing that you would describe as infernal or divine magic?" or something. Also, would it do us any good to send down a ground team to investigate Keiichi's relatives?
>>19243623or "Where is your Soul?"
>>19243661+1 for "Where is your soul?"
>>19243661Or "Where do you think your soul is?"
>>19243687Better. As otherwise he can answer, "I don't know"
>>19243661>>19243671Would Keiichi's body know that?
>>19243719Iunno. But it's worth a shot. Let's also have Virtun cast "gentle repose" on Keiichi's corpse. And maybe have some of the auxiliary crew members bring in air fresheners to wherever we're holding the corpse.
Also, MetaOp. Could you hop in IRC. Got a question for ya.
rolled 22 = 22>>19243687"In heaven.">>19243609Scan beginning. Scanners unable to be used until scan complete.
>>19243817Well at least he still has a positive opinion of himself.
>>19243830It could also be a very vague and/or philosophical reply. Wherever he's happiest or closest to Bell... or some sort of oblique reference to an actual place that isn't the Almighty's domain.
Well, might as well, attempt a rez. hopefully it works.
>>19243817Yeah, let's revive Keichi. Keep people on standby just incase he's infected by SUE. If we have to, beam up diamonds from africa to fund our magic.
>>19244127>>19244159A lot of people seem to think that Rezzing Keiichi would make Heaven's computer system go ALERT ALERT UNAUTHORIZED SOUL BEING PULLED TO MORTAL REALM ALERT. We should make preparations if this is the case.
>>19244127>>19244159If we're going to do a rez, shouldn't we do it someplace other than our ship?Perhaps somewhere down on the planet but completely unexpected, like a nice summer home down in Miami that no one is using? No reason to make finding us any easier for people that we don't want finding us.
>>19244213Abandoned warehouse/building in the Midwest. Like some sort of closed-down school in Mississippi, Arkansas, or Wyoming.
>>19244211But if his soul was tagged in the divine databases, then the entire system should already be going bonkers by having his soul be in a state and place it's not supposed to be. Either Yggdrassil is more compromised than we thought, or things don't work like those players think they do.
>>19244235Maybe him rejecting Belldandy means that no one cares about him anymore?
>>19244235>>19244337Let's revive his ass and find out.
>>19244346First, we ask Virtun if jumping a few light years away from the site of death will make it difficult to resurrect Keiichi or not.Second, we should probably do this at a place that isn't directly aboard this ship. Either some place down on the planet where nobody would think to find us, or several hundred light years away from Earth.
If his revival is successful, will he remember being dead and in the afterlife?
>>19244396While preparation is good, you people seem to want to take it overboard. We'll never get anything done if you keep trying to cover every single eventual possibility that'll come up. Keep it simple, stop trying to jump to Alpha Centari for every little thing.
>>19244461This is what worked back in Tokyo, and when we finally got our heads screwed on right to take out Sapphy. And it also mitigated casualties during Ebon's world.
In a desolate abandoned ranch in Wyoming, Virtun lays the dead body of Keiichi down, reverently intoning holy words. Sprinkling diamond dust over the slain motorcyclist, a final chant causes the young man to shine with a brilliant light and sit up suddenly."Bell!" he shouts. "I... uh... er... huh? Where I am?"
>>19244487Wyoming. You were murdered. You got better.Do you remember what happened?
>>19244487The land of the living.Also? Wyoming.You're welcome.
>>19244487"Hello Mr. Morisato. Welcome back. You are currently in America. Do you remember what happened to you?"We can explain that we're an Agency, and that we were surprised to find him dead when our records showed he was supposed to still be alive.
>>19244487You're in the middle of nowhere. Quite literally, and that's coming from a person who LIVED there at one time. Take it easy son. You were kind of, uh, dead, but luckily it seems to have passed.
>>19244487Can we tell if he is SUE contaminated?
"Y-yeah... This big western guy barged into the temple with Mara, got really upset..."Keiichi pauses, wincing. "...that Belldandy wasn't there, started yelling, then..." the young man touches his neck gingerly. "...then he killed me."
>>19244487>>19244533The Storm's sensors are currently pre-occupied with the time/space sensor sweep. It could take a while for it to complete. In the meantime, have our other ships start a sensor sweep of the US and Japan. See what the other Observer that's tailing Trevor/Mara has to report. Be ready to transport Virtun and Keiichi back onto the ship if trouble shows up, and be ready to jump out of the system at a moment's notice.
>>19244565Do you remember why you are no longer with Belldandy?
>>19244565"What can you tell us about the two weeks prior to your untimely death? And we've noticed something inconsistent with our records; why did your relationship with Belldandy end?"
OP, this is probably a given, seeing as how Trevor is a neo-nazi SUE, but does he match the description that Keiichi's corpse gave of his killer?>>19244565Mr. Morisato, do you remember any odd happenings occuring over the past few weeks? Aside from your separation from Bell and the usual stuff that happens with the other goddesses that resided with you. Also, were you contacted by Hell or Heaven within the past few weeks? Could you tell us what they said and who you thought they were?
>>19244565Do you have any memory of what happened between you dying and now?Like being in heaven or being a ghost or whatever?
>>19244613Yes."I... uh..." Keiichi blinks several times and a blank look comes over his face for a moment. "I couldn't put her through it anymore."
>>19244644Keiichi, did you and Belldandi ever go through the Judgement gate?
>>19244644Define "it", Mr. Morisato.OP, has the Observer tailing Trevor/Mara detected anything happening from their end?
>>19244644>a blank look comes over his face for a momentDammit, that sounds like he's still under SUE control.Let's get Tosh down here; maybe being in America away from most of the spirits will help him clear his head. He's touched SUE-charmed minds before; let's have him check Keiichi's mind, and confirm if there's still SUE taint controlling him.
>>19244664They're arguing in their suite right now."I... uh... couldn't...">>19244655"Yes. No. I... I don't know."
>>19244681Couldn't what?(Lets see if the sheer weight of how illogical him letting Belldandy go is stronger than the SUE corruption)
>>19244681Observer, turn up your audio detection systems and concentrate them on the room that Mara and Trevor are in. Attempt to listen in to their conversations, or otherwise do your damndest in reading their lips.
>>19244681Okay, I still say we should get Tosh, and maybe Cheryl if she feels up to it, to beam down outside the barn and come inside as specialists to check Keiichi.Have them check his head for SUE control.
>>19244703Actually, isn't Data really good at reading lips?Send the video data back up to the Storm and have Data do it.
>>19244707Seconding... although should we include a few other troops in their party? In case we encounter enemies who'd want to kill Keiichi again and our troops?
>>19244718And we'll end up with http://youtu.be/kQTW7Pd1vqc
>>19244699"I can't keep her!" Keiichi yells. "I just can't!"The Observer begins picking up audio. Mara and Trevor are arguing over their next move. Mara wants to capture one of the goddesses. Trevor wants to kill one in front of their knight. Or vice-versa. They also discuss the possibility of smuggling crack German troops into Nekomi to aid them.
>>19244853Looks like the SUE control is greater than the weight of plot. Just as predicted. And let's get Tosh and Cheryl (if she feels up for it) down there to check Keiichi's mind, see how bad the SUE contamination is affecting him.Have the Observer keep observing. We plan on what to do when Trevor and Mara decide on a plan.
>>19244853Well that looks to be going nowhere, I guess we need to drop the topic for now.
>>19244853Did you ever consider that she WANTED to be with you. She granted your wish, not once but multiple times because she WANTED to.And now, she's being controlled by someone who cares nothing for her, because you abandoned her.
>>19244877Should we ask the Avatar to come down as well? It's one thing to look at reality distortions on a screen, it's another to see their effect in person.
>>19244853We should probably get Tosh/Cheryl/X-Com Psychics to take a look at Keiichi's head before he hurts himself. Also, ask Data/Science team if they can work with the Psions to have our ships' shields mimic the effects of a Mind Blank spell, or otherwise a method to assist the Psions in shrouding our ships in a Mind Blank spell. It's not quite a teleportation interdiction field, but it could help out a little.
>>19244907That's true, the Avatar and Agrias haven't seen the effects of a SUE up close, and tearing their souls apart at the contradiction between what they should be feeling, and how they're being forced to feel.>>19244917We've got a research project for that: Psi-Shields. It was supposed to be part of the Mk. III Reality Emitter research, but it fell by the wayside when people decided that the Mk. II was good enough (even though no one seems to have trouble psychically contacting the Command Crew and getting in our heads).
rolled 40 = 40>>19244901"I... I..."
>>19244955So many things to research, so little time...Alright, so we're agreed on sending an away team to diagnose Keiichi?Consisting of: Tosh and Cheryl (maybe) for helping Keiichi's psyche (if they actually NEED to be on the ground to do this type of thing), and Avatar/Agrias as well?Regular Troops: 1 x KI squad, 1 x white mage Squad, 3 x psions, 3 x abjurers.Revise and suggest at your discretion.
>>19245010Keichi grabs his head with both hands. "I... can't..."
>>19245024FIGHT IT, DAMN YOU! You're being controlled! You DIED FOR HER!
>>19245015I suggest swapping the KI squad with the SCP Troopers. The SCP are currently equipped with Reality Distortion Rifles, so if they come up against magical creatures, they'll be better able to fight them than the KI.>>19245024"Alright, Mr. Morisato. Calm down. We're going to get some specialists to check you over."
>>19245038We just brought him back, and you're trying to kill him again?Leave him alone, that part of him that you're reaching for obviously died before he was murdered. He's still at least slightly useful as is, but he's no good to us catatonic.
>>19245076Trying to see if he can make a Will Save to beat mind control. He's fought worse and survived.
>>19245024You know something. We need Cheryl for this. She's been through Silent Hill. She can help Kenichi out of this hole.
>>19245089Fought worse?I don't think so.You read the fic Taiichi and Rei came from(http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1489232/5/Oh_My_Goddess_Knight for those of you just tuning in)What could be worse than that?
>>19245041SCP squad it is.OP, have our other ships' scanner sweeps detected any suspicious movement toward the Wyoming farmhouse? Any magical disturbances or otherwise anomalous power readings and the like heading toward our position there?
>>19245015As a small army of people materialize around him, most normal people would've been shocked. Keiichi just winces."You... aren't actually from the Goddess Relief Agency, are you?" he asks.Tosh frowns. "Da spirits be familiar wid you, mon. You've had... an interestin' life. Ta say da least."
>>19245131"As we said, Mr. Morisato, we are from *AN* Agency. We never said we were from the Goddess Relief Agency.""Tosh, Cheryl. You've seen what it's like inside a SUE. Can you see how deep the rot goes in Mr. Morisato's mind? If possible, could you show the Avatar and Ms. Oaks what it is that we fight?"
>>19245131"As my colleague said, we are *AN* Agency. Just know that we're here because there are things fundamentally wrong here, and you are an unfortunate victim of those circumstances. The Goddesses - and you - have been controlled in the twisted wish fulfillment of people who don't understand the true power and nature of a Wish. The man who killed you and the man who forced you away from Belldandy are two of these individuals. We seek to set these wrongs right; because if we don't the corruption could spread to more innocents.""This is what we fight on it's most fundamental level, Agrias and Avatar. This young man was torn from his path by those with petty, grasping ambitions for their own petulant gain. *This* is what we fight."
>>19245131Cheryl, Tosh, take a look at Mr. Morisato's head and see if you can do anything for him. Cheryl, you've had some experience in being forced to do things by malevolent reality-warpers and horrors, yes? Perhaps you can help him ease into a healthier state of mind.Avatar, Agrias, this is a part of what SUEs can do. While most focus on the fact that they distort reality and are supreme combatants, they can also fundamentally change how a person's mind works. If you can lend him assistance in any way, that would be greatly appreciated.KI (or SCP?), keep an eye out for intruders. OP, if the Abjurers use "Mage's Private Sanctum" to keep out any unwelcome scryers, will we still be able to observe what's going on down there?
>>19245167"It's already written on his face. No need to use magic tricks," the Avatar says, frowning as he takes a knee to look at the sitting, disheveled Keiichi. "This isn't the first suffering face I've seen, nor will it be the last, I fear."Cheryl frowns as she looks at Keiichi. Tosh just crosses his arms."It's... bad and not bad," she murmurs. "He's mostly himself, just... under a compulsion.""Ya, but de compulsion be turning his insides against him," Tosh nods. "Under a reality emitter, we might be ta do somethin' wid our powers. Want us to try?"The Avatar looks intently at Keiichi, as if searching his face for something.
>>19245337Try it. Maybe you can cure him.If you can cure him, it gives us hope for the others.
>>19245337Sure. Will the personal reality emitters work for you guys?
rolled 64, 43 = 107>>19245355"Ya, mon."
>>19245337"Avatar, we're going to attempt something. Have you found what you are looking for within Mr. Morisato?""Tosh, will the personal reality emitters be enough? We can get an Al'Kesh with a capital ship-grade one over your position in a few minutes."
>>19245360"What are you going to do?" Keiichi asks, meekly. The Avatar lays a comforting hand on his shoulder."We're going to make your head stop hurting. That's all," he says. Cheryl and Tosh step forward, Tosh reaching out and yanking a strand of hair from Keiichi's head. Keiichi yelps in pain, but Cheryl puts a comforting hand on him, closing her eyes and murmuring something as the young man begins to drift off to sleep. Tosh begins to wrap the hair around a small voodoo doll he pulls from his belt.Unseen forces begin to roil around the group as an invisible war is fought, with Keiichi and Cheryl occasionally twitching. Finally Keichi exhales deeply and seems to go limp. Cheryl wakes up with a start."It's done, but not as clean as I would have liked," she says."Ya did it faster n' I could have, little gurl," Tosh says, putting away his doll. "Den again, if dese blasted spirits would leave me alone, mebbe I woulda done betta."
>>19245470Cheryl, is Mr. Morisato going to be alright? Will the SUE's compulsion leave any lasting harm? Tosh, could you reach out and see if the spirits hear or see of any suspicious figures approaching the farmhouse?
>>19245470"Thank you, Cheryl, Tosh."Perhaps it's best if we keep Keiichi down in Wyoming. We don't want his location data to be traced to our task force. We could fix up the ranch house as a temporary base of operations, and assign an Al'Kesh to act as overwatch and a means of emergency escape if necessary.
>>19245364"I was studying the flow of mana within him. Thought maybe I could disrupt whatever was enthralling him, but it looks like I was beaten to the punch," the Avatar nods. "Mana flow's normal now, anyway. Just the amount is really low. So whatever you did worked, but was draining. He'll just be really tired for a while.""He's not the only one," Cheryl says with a sigh as she shakes her head. "But I've worked through worse."
>>19245470Not as clean as you would have liked? While I am not qualified to judge, I'll readily admit, saying such a thing does not sound good when linked to what amounts to spiritual surgery. What is his condition? Should I assume that some parts of the compulsion could not be excised?
Also, VF-25, how's the high-def light collection going? Are you making any headway there?Storm, what's the ETA on that time-space scan?OP, has the Observer detected any change in Mara and Trevor's activities? Or are they still arguing?
>>19245520Tired we can work with.In fact that's probably for the best, for now at least.
Should we prepare ourselves for any surprise guests from above or below?
>>19245520Cheryl, you're a genius. I'd complement you some more, but I suppose you'd probably greatly prefer a nap. You should probably rest for a while. Before you do, though. See anything interesting in his head while you were fixing him?
>>19245542Few more hours for both.Trevor and Mara have stopped arguing and begun planning.
>>19245572"Just enough sweetness to make a mind-reader feel like they've got brain cavities," Cheryl says with a sigh. "If you're offering a nap, I'm not going to turn it down."
>>19245589"You should get some rest, Ms. Mason. Get a power pack from the Indefatigable to act as a source of power.>>19245576Have the Observer continue recording, and inform us when the two of them seem to have finished planning.
>>19245589Go ahead, but first, if that's alright with you, could Lartiet cast a spell to make sure the rest is especially... restful?Heart’s EaseEnchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-Affecting]Level: Beloved of Valarian 3, cleric 3, Pleasure 3Components: V, S, DFCasting Time: 1 standard actionRange: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)Targets: One creature/levelDuration: PermanentSaving Throw: Will negates (harmless)Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)Heart’s ease cures emotional wounds in the same way that heal wipes away physical ones. The subjects are cured of any fear effect, despair effect (such as the crushing despair spell), or similar mindaffecting condition, excluding charms and compulsions (such as charm person, dominate person, and similar spells). It removes any lingering psychological effects of torture (including the increased effectiveness of torture devices, as described in the Book of Vile Darkness). It cures confusion and insanity, restores 2d4 points of Wisdom damage (but not permanent Wisdom drain), and leaves the targets feeling refreshed and at peace....Maybe cast it on Keiichi too? Or still do it to Keiichi even if Cheryl declines, which is completely alright.
>>19245605Cheryl can go back up and sleep in her own quarters, of course. The ranch house is for Keiichi, because we don't want him on our ships in case someone tracks his location metadata in the divine database.
>>19245638I was thinking Nap Stack.http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/n/nap-stackYou reduce the amount of uninterrupted sleep or rest creatures within the spell's area need in order to recover from injuries, regain spells, or other special abilities to 2 hours instead of the normal eight. In addition, if creatures continue to sleep or rest beyond the initial 2 hours, every additional 2 hours counts as a day of rest for the purpose of recovering hit points, ability damage, as well as for enduring diseases, poisons, or other afflictions. This means 8 total hours of sleep counts as 4 days for natural healing and for saving throws as diseases or similar afflictions run their course.2 hours of sleep is a full night's rest.
>>19245638>BOED spellThat book has some strange ideas about what constitutes good.
>>19245646Yeah until this blows over, Keiichi can enjoy all theWyoming has to offer!

>>19245669It certainly does.Fortunately most of the bullshittiest spells are for that 'Sanctified' class thing.
Should we switch out the KI there for the SCP, since the SCP have the reality disruptor rifles? Or should we just leave the troop composition as is?
>>19245693Get the SCP in there, with a KI tactical squad on standby in the Al'Kesh hovering over the ranch house. And give them a satellite uplink to the Internet and to our entertainment databanks. It would be torture otherwise.
Ryu find anything interesting? It still makes me uncomfortable that we haven't gained any intel on our two most dangerous opponents besides their names.
I realize that we're eating through Abjurer spells like popcorn, but do you think we should ward Keiichi with a nondetection spell? It's a pity that the spell "Mage's Private Sanctum" appears as a huge conspicuous grey shrouded area. Otherwise it'd be perfect for concealing our makeshift base in Wyoming.
>>19245710But what about all that fresh air?And all that... fresh air? Also I'm a bit worried that sending too much of our forces down might make us more likely to be detected.
>>19245710Our Entertainment Databanks? Restrict all access to "Ah! Magami-sama" doujins.
>>19245736I didn't think we cast any Abjurer spells yet, did we?
>>19245719We could have Douglas and the Delta Green's set up police stakeouts. They should be mundane enough and far enough that they don't trigger Skuld's defenses. We could change their documentation and credentials to be from the Public Security Intelligence Agency, with a cover story of conducting an investigation because of Trevor being in Japan and his apparent interest in them, and how he's a bad influence on Germany so that Japan is watching him and whatever he's watching.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_Security_Intelligence_Agency
>>19245740Possible, but, it's 1 KI tactical squad, an Al'Kesh, a squad of White Mages, the SCP squad, 3 psions and 3 abjurers. We could pull back everyone but the SCP troopers if you're concerned.
>>19245719The Comasato bros. are near the goddesses. They will be likely tipped off against any scrying attempts and such. However, the Vindicare assassin is a bit of a loner, and does not appear to have any patron goddess. Perhaps the Aurors can do a bit of scrying and see if they can get a good glimpse of where our quarter-saiyan SUE might be residing. The hacker team might want to check to see if there are any reports of villains or such being killed by sniper shots or sudden-onset throat-slitting with no apparent aggressor. Try to see if they can triangulate an area of occurrence. I almost want to send down a team of Shadowrunners/Undead Hunters being supervised by Doug to see if they can gather any information from the populace on the other SUEs. The Shadowrunners will hopefully be able to take care of themselves since they do this kind of shit for a living, and the Undead Hunters are more or less really really adaptable and resourceful 20th century inhabitants.
>>19245784>Zombie Hunters>doing legworkTourists and foreign friends of locals. They'll fit right in by sticking out like a sore thumb.
>>19245767Not a bad idea. The UNIT troopers might be able to help out as well. The newer temple that the Goddesses are staying at is a place, although some temples tend to be rather far away from the real urban areas. It might be hard to find a spot to set up a stake out without rousing suspicion.Mara and Trevor seem to teleport all the fuck everywhere, but it might be more telling on where they opt to travel via foot or car. Might be worthwhile to do a stakeout on them.

>>19245967>>19245991LET'S FIND OUT TOGETHER!The deckers of the Shadowrun team make the unpleasant discovery that one of Japan's news sites has apparently been infected with some form of computer virus. When they access the site, they immediately begin cursing wildly as their virtual interfaces and cyberware begin to be swarmed with pop-up ads. Jacking out, the deckers make an unpleasant discovery... the pop-up ad programs have infected their cyberware, and are proliferating to the point where they cannot see, because their field of vision is blocked by virtual pop ups. Each pop up seems to be an add for the services of a specific demon or devil, many offering "low low rates", and "special introductory offers" if you click NOW. Many also seem to have an excessive amount of small print. The Aurors attempt to scry on Brett, but all they get are excruciating headaches. A booming voice reverberates in their minds."By the Emperor, suffer not the witch to live!!!"

>>19245967>>19246164See? SEE?! This is why we keep Virtun on the ships and away from the frontlines! Because the diceroller feeds on player tears and will fucking one-shot our cleric if it thinks it's funny!
>>19246200Thank you Mr. Data, EMH team.So... stakeouts. Since we already have the Observers tailing Mara/Trevor, we should be OK as far as surveying them goes, I think. Perhaps we can pull up a topographic map of the temple near where the goddesses reside and see if there's any good stakeout areas near there. In the meantime; OP, what does the Observer's recordings show of Trevor/Mara's planning so far?
Proof that the dicegods are chaotic and vindictive
>>19246248They're going over ways to smuggle German troops into Japan. No decisions have been made yet.And I'm off to bed. Next thread tomorrow, same time!
Well I say we should take out Trevor/Mara now or at least pretty soon. We don't want to have to deal devilnazi shock troops. We should:1) port down speakers playing "Valley of the damned" by Dragonforce.2) Send down Virtun and Spike, one equipped with a ring of luck to restrain/kill Trevor.3) Draw a ring of demon entrapment around Mara while she is dancing/recoiling in shock.4) Try to negotiate a temporary alliance, remind Mara of the time she was purified and if she allies with us we will help her get her revenge. Apparently people is canon are desensitised to weird happenings due to kids playing pranks on them.
>>19244478You're full of shit. In Tokyo we called in a rewriter bomb, strapped a shitton of nukes and reality emitters to mechagodzilla and told him to have fun. In Ebon's World, we grabbed Cheryl and Douglas, fitted them with armor and gear, sent Spike and called it good. Sapphy was just a huge shitfest in general.
Right lads, here's what we know.SUEs hax Yggdrasil.SUEs seduce gods.Canon gettin' fux'dThe Judgement Gate accidentally UldThere's a Vindicare Assassin that doesn't seem much involved in the romantic subplotsSatan-Hitler is being a double jerkAlso, the Almighty knows we're here.Likely course of action:Kill Trevor, bind his demon.Unfuck Yggdrasil by either killing the SUEs, separating the SUEs from their gods, or jacking into Yggdrasil and fixing their fuckery directly.See wtf that Vinidcare Assassin is about, and whether we can shove him back in 40k or whether we need to kill him. It's noted that if we kill SUEs, Karma may bite us in the ass for killing loved ones of the goddesses. On the other hand, it's ALSO noted that these SUEs are being pretty big asses so far; for all we know we may be the Karma that bites them in the ass.I think getting involved in conversation/talking with the goddesses or the SUEs is a bad idea. SUEs aren't for talking, and involving ourselves with the goddesses to any degree will make canon distortions. Thus, our options are:A. Reveal the mindfuckery bullshit these SUEs are pulling, have the Goddesses get upset, and Ezekiel 25:17B. Just shoot them and piss off before Karma can get usNote that we'll have to deal with the Vindi first if we opt for B.
>>19247325We spent 2 entire threads for Tokyo before we went back and had Mechagodzilla attack Kyoto. In Ebon's world, we had entire planning threads that filled up planning our next move.Or did you forget all about how much planning we did?
Yea we did a heck loads of planning. I recall that there are one or two "planning only" threads in the suparchive. Well I woils like to get rid of Trevor before he brings in the devilnazi kill squads. What about the Vinidcare Assassin? We don't know anything about him/her apart that he/she exists. Should we try to find some fake inquisitorial codes in order to lure him to one spot?
>>19247510Really, the Vindicare should be our top priority as soon as we confirm where Urd is located. The Farseers indicated that she's still here in this Canon, but that she's been temporally displaced. With some research, it is believed that she may have attempted to cross the Gate of Judgement and failed, thereby becoming trapped in time.Once we can be sure that Urd did not go through the Warhammer portals, we need to figure out a way to neutralize the Vindicare. Those portals are letting the Warp, and Chaos, into this world. We need to close them off before something bigger and meaner than small bands of Chaos Marines come through. We could try using fake Imperial codes to draw him into a trap, but he might be suspicious about getting an Inquisitorial communique here, where he knows there is no Imperial presence.
>>19247510Well what else? We would try a false flag operation and set up a fake chaos cult. The only problem is that the other S.U.E.s might take notice.
>>19246537Seems solid. We're gonna need anti-teleport shit, but Virtun and the Abjurers can handle that, can't they?If they can't, we club the fucker A head and have the Doc keep him unconscious. Fucker B gets a good dose of rock-n-roll and demon binding up her.Next question: The Vindicare.Do we kill him, capture him, or shove him through the portal?Do we pose as a superior officer, set up a fake Chaos cult, or just outflank his anus with high explosives? And, exactly what will neutralise the Warhammer portals? It'd suck ass if we dealt with the assassin, then DOOMRIDER! walks through the portal, says "sup bros thanks for takin' care of that dude for me", and has a Daemonettes-and-Cocaine party at Keiichi's house.
>>19247741The portals are most likely linked to the Vindicare, and how he views this world as some version of Teranis. Kill him, and the portals will close. Given his quarter Saiyan blood, I don't know if we could reliably contain him. Any attack we throw at him that doesn't kill him, only makes him stronger.
>>19247844That's only if he escapes to live another day. If we hit him sudden-like and kill him completely beyond all hope of revival, then we won't have to worry about him anymore. The problem is determining whether he's just a pumped-up vindicare or if he has DBZ-like abilities. If we manage to get a transporter lock on him, we could just teleport him into the sun or in hard vacuum sans his gear.
>>19247741Shoving him through the portal would be an awfully convenient way of killing him off. But he can probably open up other portals if he puts his mind to it; not to mention that his (ugh) quarter-saiyan ancestry combined with his SUE status may make sending him off to the WH40K-verse essentially just a really long exile/training-session. We might end up making him much stronger opponent that we'll have to take care of later on. It would also be really bad if he got corrupted by Chaos down the line.
