So /tg/, I have a questionHere's the situation; I'm going to be the new president of my University's game club (The President's going to graduate this year) I want to be able to do things like they were, but I'm afraid of people ruining the club/sessionsSo to counteract this, I plan on making a little sheet in which existing members and newer ones list their favorite things, hobbies, classes to play, games, etc. Depending on what they choose, they'll be accepted/rejected/kicked out.tl;dr: How do I keep my games club from going into the ground? How does my idea sound?
It sounds like elitist douchebaggery to me.
definitely hold shitty behavior against people. if someone shows up with a min-maxed character and a chip on their shoulder tell them where the door is. apply social pressure to people to do the right thing and they will, or they will leave. either way problem solved.
Kicking people out is a terrible idea. Maybe take your survey results and use them to group people into games with others who would enjoy the same thing (serious RPers in one group, munchkins in another etc).
Have a rule that any member who joins is on "probation" for a certain amount of games, and people who aren't can decide to punt them out of the group if they turn out to be fuckwads by a strong majority vote. However, the final decision remains with you.
>>19117954Stupid. The solution to avoid these people is simply to keep a close eye on what's going on, and if you get complaints, check out what the problem is, then kick them if they're That Guy. If you want to go super management heavy, see if you can avoid putting new people in the same group (unless they know each other of course) to avoid potential That Guys ruining the hobby. That's all there is to it.
Sounds like your fears are justified. You should kick out that OP douchebag before he becomes president. Sounds like he is going to fuck up the club.
>>19117963>>19117995Well, the reason I do this is because from what I've seen, certain people who like certain things ruin everything for everyone else. I think that with this idea, we can get rid of problem causers before they have a chance to ruin shitPonyfag? See ya later! Anime Junkie? Buh bye! People that don't like a certain system? There's the door! Those kind of people always cause trouble; I'm applying what's here on /tg/ IRL, and I think it'll work out fairly well
>>19118051Jesus christ, you're a terrible person
Commissar that shit up. They doubt the glory of the Emperor and try to avoid purging the cheerleading xenos menace? Blam to the face.
>>19118050Yeah, and I'll bet you're the type that wants to bend the rules in a game to be a munchkin that can do ALL OF THE THINGSQuit please, adults are talking
Seriously? It sounds awful, you cannot just kick or reject people out of your game club just because they like what you don't like.
>>19117954>I'm afraid of people ruining the club/sessions>lays out plans to ruin the clubSelf-fulfilling prophesy.
>>19118157Have you seen how /tg/ works? It's considered the best board on 4chan because we have a very strict system of what's acceptable and what's not. People who like terrible things are liable to be bad players. I have the best interests of my group and games at heart
GLORY TO THE ARYAN RACEHEIL OP
>>19118169Tell me you won't kick out a raging /b/tard, Ponyfag, Animu freak or furry from your games. If you don't, then you're obviously ignorant, enjoy playing with shitty people, or are one of the previously mentioned
>>19118196The problem is what is and is not terrible is, well, a thin line. Sure, kicking out furries? Maybe. Heck, probably - there's very few chill-dude furries and most of the rest are dramawhoring assholes. However, would you kick out someone who likes x class in y system? Or z edition? because that shit? That shit is stupid.
>>19118051Holy fuck you are going to ruin the shit out of that club.I shouldn't even have to explain this to you, it's such an obviously awful idea. You know how everyone hates and resents the moderator when he goes on a banning spree? you're essentially planning on doing the same thing in real life towards people who know who you are and can get revenge. And yes, EVERYONE will hate you. The people you kick out over issues of personal taste will have friends left who resent the hell out of you, and even the members who don't will be fearful of getting kicked out if they show an interest in "unapproved" material. You must have severe fucking control issues to even consider this shit.
>>19118232The only people that will hate me are the "That Guys" who ruin things. Everyone else will thank me for keeping things in order
>>19118223So long as they're not disturbing actual play or hosing the game down with their chosen cause? Nope. You don't have to single out a subgenre to say, "Don't ruin other people's fun." If you can't codify it into neutral rules, then you're being an exclusivist faggot, and the sooner they boot you out of any sort of position of authority, the better that club will be.
>>19118261You're sounding pretty saturday morning cartoon villain bro.All you're missing is the evil laughter.

>>19118266>So long as they're not disturbing actual play or hosing the game down with their chosen cause? Nope. You know these people are whiney bitches that try to bring their shit into games all the time. Don't lie to yourself and everyone else, it makes you look like an idiot. And besides, if they were good players, they'd like things that were...you know...GOOD
>>19118205>>19118205>>19118205This right here. OP is a faggot of higher magnitudes.

>>19118309Hey. Don't bring internet shit into real life. That ain't cool. Do that all you want on 4chan where you're anonymous, but you pull that shit in real life, there will be a name and face attached to what you said.Sorry but you aren't mature enough to be the president of a gaming club. End of story.
>>19118309Here's the thing, bro. Not everyone of that fandom is like that. Some of them never mention it, because they know it;'s not related. You're only seeing the assholes because their assholery makes them visible. Just as bad are the faggots who shove 40kay everywhere.Just as bad are the faggots who cannot fucking stand down and let othersenjoy themselves, because holy fuck how dare they play a Monk?! Nevermind the DM allowed it, IT BREAKS YOUR PRECIOUS WORLDVIEW, IT MUST BE HORRIBLE ROLEPLAYING.>EVERYONE WHO LIKES X IS A SHITHEAD>NO EXCEPTIONSYou sound like a goddamn child.

>>19118261>The only people that will hate me are the "That Guys" who ruin thingsYou're kicking people out of a club over something as minor as liking anime or not liking a certain system. >>19118349Not a lie, my writing style stands out quite significantly and can be easily identified. Besides, if I was lying, how would I know the tripcode to the Paladin one?(Also, the Paladin in the good vs evil story is the same one in the Ask me Anything, tl;dr you're a faggot getting called out)
well OP its fun to be a nazi about things but in the real world, as long as the "pony fag" is interested in some gaming don't be a dick to them, if they pull out a druid with a horse form, raise an eyebrow but do nothing, if said horse-druid starts humping thing tell the player that such activity in inappropriate and that you will not tolerate it, if they do it again then tell them to leave. offer the repentant a second chance.geeze, i just wrote instructions on how to be a decent person, way to go OP my faith in humanity grows weaker...
>>19118380>Just as bad are the faggots who shove 40kay everywhere.Yeah, that's never happened before>>19118399>You are the most THAT GUY of THAT GUYS who has ever lived.Oh, how rich. A possible That Guy calling me a That Guy because I've got enough balls to crack down on faggots
>>19118399>You are the most THAT GUY of THAT GUYS who has ever lived.I am imagining a rotund man with a neckbeard so massive it needs armor all its own, wearing massive pauldrons, a greasy tee, and a kilt, seated on a massive plastique skull throne. He is declaring some missive, declaring that none shall ever play 4e DnD, none will ever like anime in his prescence and that only certain musical genres are allowed in his utopia. His utopia of none.
>>19118382OK seriously dude. Let me preface this by saying that I dislike the things you dislike. I ahve a kneejerk loathing of anime, furries and editionwhores. But listen, you're the president of the goddamn gaming club. Even if it's not exactly the High Galactic Primier, you're still in a position of authority, and you need to act like a fucking adult. You need to be the most mature person in the room. Now if you're serious about being a good president, be a man and put aside your own tastes to allow anyone in. If people make a problem, then you perma ban them, break their kneecaps, whatever. But the course you're on right now is one of unrelenting faggotry and fail, and is more than likely going to run afoul of your college's anti-discrimination policies. You are playing with fire, OP.tl;dr: be a man, OP.
OP, you have /tg/ pissing on you for for hating ponyfags, anime fans, and furries. Congratulations.
>>19118434>>Oh, how rich. A possible That Guy calling me a That Guy because I've got enough balls to crack down on faggotsokay, that seals it, this thread is full of fuck. I'm out.have fun wallowing in your own shit OP. you will die alone with your attitude.
somewhat clever troll 5/10, did not rage
>>19118459>Anti-Discrimination policiesOh yeah, that's right. I forgot that furries/ponyfags/animufags have special rights these days. Silly me!And besides, I'm doing the most mature thing here by trimming the proverbial rose of the cancerous buds that kill it.
>>19118434Every reply in this thread is now telling you what an awful fucking idea this is. You have managed to unite /tg/ in one voice, and that one voice is telling you what a dick you are.Learn something from this.
>>19118515Yeah, you're either an idiot or a troll. Either way I'm out of this thread, I've said all that needs to be said.
>>19118515There's a difference between enjoying something and having a fanatacal obsession. You can enjoy ponies for their merits as a decent kid's show with some adult nods, without shoving it everywhere. Heck, I do, and the only magical pony in any work of fiction I've written is the one ridden by El-fucking-Cid.
>>19118522>Implying it's not the hidden furfags/ponyfags/cancer on /tg/ samefagging because they feel threatened and upset
>>19118515Yeah, you need to take a dose of reality. If one of those ponyfags (cancer that they are) goes to the school administration and says that you've made a club that's discriminatory based upon which cartoon characters you like and which they like, they are going to come down on your ass, and all your cries of "but look what ponyfags have done to the internet!" will not sway them. You run a real risk of permanantly hurting your club.
10/10Glad to see that trolling as an art form is not dead.Good work op. I mad.
OP, my Uni games club is dying, all the committee are gay furfags and scare people away. Our ex-treasurer embezzled the clubs money. We tried to save it but we haven't had any new blood in 2 years. So I expect that we will die out.Save your Club OP.I couldn't save mine.

10/10 OP. This is magnificent - I posted three times including this one. Believable storyline, good plot, overall very well executed. If trolling were Kung-Fu, this thread would have the makings of Kung-Fu Hustle.

Why don't you just group like interests in the club? Put the ponies with the ponies. If someone hates 4e, don't put them in a 4e gameThis is all pretty simple, I am sure you can figure it out.

10/10 would rage again.
Let people run what games they want, chose what players they want, and generally don't get involved in the internals of any individual game unless it is actually causing a problem to the society as a whole.I ran a university gaming society of 100+ people for 3 years, and all you need to do is make sure there are places for the games to take place (book rooms through the university, etc), make sure to keep the society's RPG library stocked up with the RPGs people actually play, rather than ones you want, and be the guy people come to if they want you to spread the word of a new game starting, or an issue that's cropped up, etc.If you try dictating what members can and cannot play, do, like, etc, you are a fucking tool, and deserve to ruin your club.Hands off approach is best approach.
>>19118746I wasn't talking about this thread, either.Although I should probably clarify for good humor or sarcasm. If you don't push it enough, it won't show in text form.
If OP is serious: yeah I'll agree with the majority here and say that is a REALLY bad idea and will open the doors for your club to fall into a pit of shitÍf troll: *slow clap*
Just a PSA: I got a two-day ban recently for feeding an obvious troll (the coaster thread), I recommend we ignore this thread and let it die.

>>19118706>My ClubIt is not "your club", you fucking tool. You are an elected leader of the club, the club is not owned by anyone. The members of the club ARE the club. If you try to act like a dickhole to the members, you are acting like a dickhole to the club.Pic relevant.

>>19118869If someone else is running a game, why the fuck should they have to run it by you to see if it gets your "it's not ponies, so it's ok" seal of approval? >>19119022Let's ignore that other fallacy for a minute and look at something you said>The club should basically act as a central hub by which all other games run by whoever wants to GM are connected. And here is where you fail to notice something. If someone runs a shitty game, it'll end up spreading to the other parts of the club. Sure, the smart people won't like that shit, but it could cause some new problems, like people saying "WOW GUISE, THAT SOUNDS COOL. I think OP should go through with it. Uni clubs need some drama. It'll divide the club, but forge deeper ties between the survivors.Additionally, everyone not in the RP club will think it is really really stupid and laugh at you all.
>>19119934Translation: Bumblefuck Arkansas Community College. You're the pettiest of petty tyrants. Enjoy lording over no one.
>>19119949No, I'm sorry if that as ambiguous. I was saying that you had subtly dissed the shit out of him. We're on the same side.

>>19120501Nah, there are legitimate "AYN RAND IS GOD, AND FRIEDMAN WAS HER MESSIAH" type guys out there. They truly believe that small governemnt, or no government, in the economic sphere is the way to go.

>>19120614Adam Smith is the Holy Spirit, by virtue of the Invisible Hand which moves behind and in all things that are economically good.Ayn Rand is the Father, Friedman is Jesus.
>>19120662You know what? We need to make a setting in which the invisible hand is not a metaphor, but an actual giant invisible hand that regulates the markets. >>19120696An economic Call of Cthulhu?
>>19120662It amazes me how many people take Adam Smith's work (written in 1776 no less) as the gospel truth. Yeah, maybe. Like, if you start a business but your prices are higher than average and your service slower, the invisible hand literally comes and smashes your shop into matchwood and flings you into space. Maybe you could be a member of an order sworn to destroy it?
>>19120777It's the same position we take with our constitution.
Doctor John Maynard Keynes here. Don't mind me. Just single-handedly saving your asses from the menace that is the cult of the invisible hand.
OP what university do you attend?
So here's the million dollar question: would anyone play such a game? Ally with the Cult of the Keynsians to find the origins of the Invisible Hand and destroy it forever (ironically to free markets from its tyranny) or protect it against all comers?
If what the old president did worked, ask the old president what he did, then do that.

>>19121582Let's get on it. So, first - the two cults: The cult of the Invisible Hand sounds pretty good already, but I think we need a better name for the Keynsians. Cult of the Tethered Market maybe?
>>19121582Should we add Marxists?
>>19121602It's kind of hard for Keynesians because there isn't a phrase like "invisible hand" that sticks out. Tethered Markets works fine for now.
>>19121654Why not? everything's better with Marxists in the setting! So, the basic storyline seems to be ancient unknowlable eldrich hand that toys with mortal affairs. One cult wants to chain it and force it to work according to very specific rules (maybe to wage war?), one cult wants to preserve it, and one cult.. what would the Marxists want to do? Destroy it?
>>19121602Cult of the Interventionist Savior? Believes that the Invisible Hand represents tyranny, and only by man controlling his own markets can he truly thrive?
I feel like the whole thing is ripe for a kung-fu approach. Like, the Handists draw raw power from the hand, and their kung-fu masters have to face off with John Maynard Keynes's Kung Fu dojo or something? I cannot believe I just wrote that sentance.
>>19121687That could even be subfactional. One group of Marxists wants to chain the Invisible Hand to support the Workers' Collective, another wants to destroy it. Same thing with the Keynesians. The Randarchists could be heretics from the Cult of the Invisible Hand.
>shit-tier troll acting like an asshat>turns into economic-school cult homebrewNever fucking change /tg/
Nice. OK. Now to hammer out the actual details, we need to either come back to this tomorrow when more people are on or get a writefag to draw up some stuff about the setting.
>>19121825I think we should come back tomorrow, unless there is a sufficiently talented writefag present. It's pretty late for Americans and early morning for Europeans right now.
Best thread on tg today.Once it was hijacked by the pure spirit of tg gettingshitdoneness.
I love this thread so muchSomebody archive this. If homeless quest got on the archive, then damn it all, this should too
They say it's as old as time itself, that it's a physical law of the universe given form. Whatever it is, the Invisible hand has just gone from being a policy maker's headache to a personal nemesis. I had an uncle, Uncle Geof. He was a kind man, a good man - he made wooden toys for the children in my village, for a small price (just to pay for materials, you understand). One day, a larger guild of toymakers entered the village and started selling bigger toys for the same price. Uncle Geof made his by hand - he couldn't keep up! I still blame the guild for calling the Hand down upon us. One day, I walked up the hill to where Geof's house stood, and when I got there, the whole top of the hill had been destroyed. The trees where I used to swing had been smashed to matchwood, and there was no sign of the house or my uncle. It was the Hand, I'm sure of it. Since then, I've dedicated my life to seeking out every bit of knowledge in existence about this abomination to destroy it. And so I take the blood-oath and enter the Cult...dunno, just wrote it up real quick.
>>19121745Strongly agree. I would enjoy seeing a predictive style called The Accounting of All Things.
>>19121951So maybe the Randist dojo would emphasize personal mediatation and free-form movements, while the Keynes dojo would favor perscribed forms - "the raw flow of chi must be checked. You must direct it constructively with discipline, or risk destruction"
>>19118261 Why are you asking wether or not its a good idea when you have clearly made up your mind? why did you even post here?
We kind of have two games going on here, a CoC type game and a kung fu game. Which is fine, but I don't know how well they'd work together.
>>19122006We're talking about Economists and Epochs right now.
>>19122030I started typing how the elder gods use extradimensional kung fu, but that's just more kung fu game stuff.
>>19122006Damn son, get with the program.
Hmmm - we seem to be at an impasse. Perhaps we develop two seperate settings based upon the same idea (i.e. invisible hand is real)? Or should we take a vote now and decide which one to go with?
>>19122090Why the fuck do we have to vote, exclude anything, and who made you Dictator of Fun? There's nothing wrong with either, you sound like OP.
>>19122101I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with either - I came up with both ideas, bro. That being said, I feel that our creative energy would be better directed if we either reconciled the two by saying there owuld be two settings or just trying to develop one and maybe coming back to the other. Honestly, I'm just excited to see how this plays out in the hopes of something good coming from a troll thread.
>>19121951>>19121800>>19121745A little writing based on your posts. They fought it. They knew there was no chance, but they had no choice. The only thing they could do was rebel against the tyranny of the Invisible Hand. They had their own reasons. The Apostles of Individuality knew they could only rely upon themselves, and sought to become stronger by their own might. They knew that by strengthening themselves, they injured their comrades, but they had to fight the Hand somehow. The despotic nature of that regulation spurred the world away from its only truths. The Scions of Responsibility sought another approach. Their hands came with words like "social safety net" and "moral obligation." Others said they were merely emulating the dark god, their hands fading from reality to smash down oppression upon those who were left unharmed. They felt there was nothing else they could do, but take from those who had plenty for those damaged in the wake of the cruel, uncaring god.The School of the Red Right Fists sought a different approach - to level the playing field and take down the score board. This way, they felt their foe would never know where or when to strike. They taught what they could, and helped where they dared, and burned every idolatrous thing along the way. Quotas needed to be filled, and they needed to be the ones to fill them.
>>19122090Two settings seem like a lot of work, but they are both cool ideas. I'm leaning twoards the CoC idea myself because the Invisible Hand seems like an eldritch horror.
>>19122127 (con't.)Offshoots of that school went far and wide, but never terribly deep. The Invisible Hand tracked them mercilessly, and where it relented, others came for them, seeing in their generosity a weakness, in their kindness, a frailty. Those harsh fangs and sharp knives taught lessons to others, who did not follow that path. The Path of New Beginnings wished to clear off everything, and start anew. They said this world was too corrupt, too evil, and had to be purged. Maybe they are right.Me? I follow a different path. I wish to show you what other forces can bind the Invisible Hand, for I, and my master before me, have found some. Will you learn from me, disciple, and find the strength to take down that Hand with honeyed words and the methods to bind others to your cause? I can teach you the means of Social Welfare, of ensuring the minimum needed for man, that they may build beyond it...Will you come with me, to learn my methods, and to strengthen your fist to fight the Invisible Hand?
>>19122127So the Apostles of Individuality are Rand/Friedman, Scions of Responsibility are Keynsian and the Red Fists are Marxists? Awesome and phrased awesomely.
Writefagging for Marxists, kind of tired so excuse any typosI arrived early at the entrance to the conclave, after I made the proper signals to the brother-guards I slipped inside below. The conclave sat on the site of an old factory from the first wave of industrialization in America. Most of the surrounding area had become suburbia in the intervening century and spare, but the lot here was kept abandoned through a secret war we waged for decades against the agents of property development and their corporate masters. Under the lot was a grand chamber whose walls were carved with the name of every workman, laborer, or striker that had died during the struggle the surrounding area for over a hundred and 50 years. It was a living vigil to our comrades. At the cardinal points were pylons on which stood the Relics: Girders from 19th century steel mills, a piece of a textile machine, and a bloodstained piece of rock from one of the first general strikes in Europe, Germany I think it was. It was these names and these objects that form the basis of our power. Neonates often ask the comrades: "How do we fight a mad god like the Tyrant Hand, when we are just men?" The answer is our shared history, our fraternal struggle, and our collective will. One man cannot fight a god, but a hundred, a thousand, a million men marching in lockstep? It makes our rituals work, it protects us from It's agents, and it keeps our hallowed places like the conclave sacrosanct. Is it the truth of our way being the right way made manifest, or is it simply a illusion of metaphysics like what makes the Tyrant Hand manifest itself? I know not, ask the professors that, me? I'm just a man, fighting the good fight for the men and women a work with all day everyday like my father and grandfather did before me.
By the Invisible Hand, /tg/, when was the last time I told you I love you. You take the worst/greatest of trollthreads and turn them into something AMAZING.
>>19122142Wait, no - the narrator is Keynsian, isn't he?
>>19122155Bricks were shat, writer, bricks were shat.
>>19122142I wanted to tie in as many theories as I could, but beyond Anarchist Economics, I really don't know much about the field.I wanted to give the impression that all the schools had problems with infighting, and needed to cooperate to get anything done, and that a middle ground was the best route, so fucked if I know what that last guy was advocating.I think he's going for something Europe-like, but my economics education was a semester in high school. During a teacher's strike.
>>19122178Ditto. I'd say we'd need to get some economists, but I don't know how to summon them. It definitely works though. We have workable factions and a basic idea for a setting now.
>>19122155Holy shit that's awesome.
It must be archived, but I lack the requisite data protocols to do so. Who possesses the knowledge necessary to archive this thread?
>>19122195Same way you summon demons, but more pertinent to the persons in question. Friedman requires burnt tax forms. Marx, the blood of the workers. Rand can only be summoned by one man working alone, with a circle made of goods he fashioned himself. Keynes requires 100 gold coins, each given proportionally based upon the wealth of the givers.
>>19122137 & >>19122127 here. This: >>19122155 is better than anything I had pictured for the School of the Red Fists. It's fantastic. We need more. Does anyone know about the Austrian School of Economics?
>>19122279I meant - actually, fuck what I meant. That's way the hell more awesome. So each school/cult has a sort of mini-eldrich God/economist who is their patron?
>>19122289"We need more. Does anyone know about the Austrian School of Economics?"DING DING DING First time that sentence has ever been uttered on 4chan! Winrar!
Do you have to take a sanity check when you see uneconomically sound practices?>Today a middle aged man came into my shop to buy a car>Asked him what credit financing plan he wanted to use>He paid in cash.>He had no credit cards>He had no creditHOW WILL HE EVER GET A LOAN!?>I came to my senses two days later, I had only lost one pint of blood from my ears.
Well anons, this has been one hell of a ride, but I have to get some sleep. I hope this thread or an archived version of it will be around tomorrow! Remember - Out of Hand, Out of Danger.
>>19122297Consider it to be one of the high rituals of any group. You can't just go, "Save me, Saint Keynes!" and POOF ECONOMIST. Or "Do my laundry, Saint Keynes!" for that matter. Assume they drop one nugget of wisdom or so, bless the assembled (temporary buffs), and then fuck back off to the Market Immaterial.
>>19122279Wouldn't Marx demand the blood of the bourgeoisie?
>>19120777People don't even read Adam Smith. He's on record as supporting labour theory of value (a very simple version that Marx took and gave a lot of depth to), unions and government regulation. When he says things like: >Wherever there is great property, there is great inequality.or>Civil government, so far as it is instituted for the security of property, is in reality instituted for the defence of the rich against the poor, or of those who have some property against those who have none at all. he sounds downright Marxist. Look at this one: >I. The subjects of every state ought to contribute towards the support of the government, as nearly as possible, in proportion to their respective abilities, that is, in proportion to the revenue which they respectively enjoy under the protection of the state. >From each according to his abilities, to each according to his need
Saged for gay hijack of my threadFuck, /tg/'s gotten pathetic
>>19122501This is your thread NO LONGER!TODAY THE REVOLUTION BEGINS! IT BEGINS HERE, AND IT BEGINS NOW! WE WILL CAST OFF YOUR TYRANNY AND BE BORN ANEW! BEGONE, BLASPHEMOUS WRETCH, LEST THE MIGHT AND MAJESTY OF THE ECONOMY STRIKE YOU DOWN!!
>>19122441Oh no, he wouldn't come for them. He doesn't come at all, to tell the truth. But every drop of blood spilled by a worker may bring forth a loyal Marxist, much as the dragons teeth sown in the ground brought forth the Spartoi.
I love you all so goddamn much, you crazy bastards. Even you, troll OP.Archived for posterity, that none may deny the glory of /tg/!http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/19117954/
>>19122441The blood of the workers is what empowers industry. And there is power in a Union - the commingling of the blood of the proletariat. It is through this communal sacrifice that they gain greatly.Destroyed relics of the bourgeoisie - the broken crown of a toppled ruler, shattered shackles that bound a slave - would also possess inherent value in the rituals of the Red Fists.>>19122501>my threadStill entitled, are we, junior? Not your club, not your board, not your thread. Deal with it.
>>19122513*BANG*THE TROTSKYITE COUNTER-REVOLUTIONARY HAS BEEN VANQUISHED. NOW BEGINS THE TRUE PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION. ONWARD COMRADES INTO A GLORIOUS NEW DAWN OF PURE IDEOLOGY.
I straightened my tie. Dark. Dark Suit. Pressed cuffs. A blade, ready in my hand, the cold silver of the cross against my neck.We were the chosen. We were the elect. The savior, the protector. Preacher. Statesman. Educator. Brought into the world to stem the rising chaos. How can we fight? How can we not? There is only one God, one protector, not this eldritch horror the Randians summoned up from their infernal anarchy. In the words of our Father, Weber. The protestant work ethic. The meek shall be protected.Control will be restored.Order will be maintained.Amen.
>>19122529At this point, I'm pretty sure it's a troll. I have never seen anyone complain when their thread gets hijacked in this manner.
FAITH RESTOREDTG NEVER CHANGE
It's in my head again, chittering away in it's maddening tongue. Kill the weak. There's blood on my hands again. Whose is it, mine? Theirs? The voice is louder, hand, fingers like black tendrils reaching down from on high.Eat the Poor.It whispers to me. I am Right. I am Individual. I am the Great and Powerful. There is no high like it, no feeling in the world.KILL THE WEAK.It's time again. More Marxist fools come to throw theirs lives away on the altar of their failed policies. Pathetic.Weak.KILL THE WEAK.
A club /= game group. Don't get the two confused. It's one thing to prevent someone from joining your gaming group because they will be disruptive to the existing group dynamic. It's another thing entirely to disbar individuals from entering a club to *find* gaming groups. A gaming club is essentially a means to get in touch with people who share the same interests; people will have no trouble forming cliques on their own within the club (if anything, the goal of a club president should be to prevent cliques from getting too insular.)
/tg/, you have stood against the most rage inducing OP of all time and have turned this thread into something truly simply glorious.Truly this is a blessed board.
In the beginning was the Land, and the Land was from God...All wealth comes from the land. At first, this was obvious - we farmed, and the land fed us. We worked the forests, and the land sheltered us. We mined, and the land shielded us. We grew our gardens, and we were content. But times changed, and we lost sight of this simple truth. Some let themselves be beguiled by sharp tongues and pretty flowers. Others sought to close off the land, pretending they gave it to their people, and not God. And now, there are those who think only of the goods they make on their machines, forgetting what went into those machines, forgetting even the name of God.But there is still hope. Not all are lost. We simply need to remember.../physiocracy as a back-to-nature cult?
This just keeps getting better and better.I feel like the most powerful faction should be the Keynsians but that since the dissapearance of their glorious leader Alan Greenspan they have fractured into the subfactions of Classical Keynsians, Post-Keynsians, and New Keynsians. Now the enigmatic Bernanke rises to the mantle but his views turn things in a new direction. Or rather, a very old one...Meanwhile, across the pond, Germany fights the secret war for control of the Fiscal Policy of Europe. With the division between a unified monetary policy in the form of the Euro and a multitude of independent Fiscal Policies Europe is an upheaval of conflicting and clashing beliefs. Stretching the very fabric of reason it has become a nest of terrible beings offering dark bargains to those seeking to escape the grasp of the hand. In fact, some rumors say that the Greeks may have even more to answer for than previously believed...Meanwhile, in China, the Econonomicon has resurfaced and with it they seek to dominate the Invisible Hand. But the hand gained its name for its subtlety and its devious crafts... Those who seek to rule soon find themselves ruled. Once it has begun, once you have fallen under its weighty thumb, it is nearly impossible to escape its mighty grasp. But still, there are those who try. Whispers abound that it is no surprise activity has exploded all over the the nearby island of Japan and that a secret organization of insurgents seeks to dilute the neighboring nations' red with the darkest shade of black.
I have to be the first one to say it. The International Monetary Fund has to be the villains of the world. I mean seriously, they are as close to literal Faustian devils as you can get. They'll ensure that you survive any economic crisis you might face so long as you agree to this long list of political changes to your nation.
>>19124537I agree. But how do we work them into the setting? Do they truely follow the Invisible Hand or have they corrupted it?
>>19124746They claim to be devotees of the Invisible Hand, and to have a strong influence over its whims. They may have captured their own god, Forex, kept hidden deep within the Bretton Woods...>>19123178After thinking about what I wrote last night, I'm thinking that this entry should be refluffed as Georgists. They'd still be an obscure back-to-nature cult that rejects the Invisible Hand, like the Marxists, but worships the land itself and its Caretaker. Physiocrats were just proto-capitalists who thought that agriculture was the key to wealth... but Georgists were much more radical, more fitting for what I had in mind.
