The Multiverse darkens and stars begin to fade.
In the pitch black sky, a force sweeps across the night. Dreams devoured, Nightmares reign. A world stands untouched and yet hope is shining brighter with every second as this little world glimmers with each passing swing.

    Do you care ?

Would you like to help ?

Our power begins to fade. But please, don't let that bother you.

We are just passing by after all.

In the wars we've seen. In worlds that have fallen, the song of the dying stars have cried out their names loudest. And yet it is an unfortunate side- effect that these organics have yet to realize just how important a role they will play.

Again... with the last of our power, we can only hope to set in motion the events that will awaken not only one these two, but perhaps the stars all over...

Choose whichever one suits you their souls read as an open book to us, but only so many words will ever describe them... . .

Collective cross schemas refer to this one as
    " Goose" sometimes " Goose Hunters "
This timid constellation, this common star, in his soul is the spark of War. The Everdying Guardian, the Forever Soldier.

For in all verses, and for all time, his Astra has marched across dreamscapes aplenty rescuing strangers and liberating downtrodden masses where oppressors exist.

And yet he is but a boy wishing a hard wish. Willing to pay the hardest price.

Shall we begin the awakening ?

Jill was drawn on the field those monsters seemed big and her gun is just as comparable...

bringing people up from your memories has a bit of a time commitment allowing you to only perform it once per turn.

Pvt. Keahne has made the assertion that perhaps portals like the "heart" can allow you access to a city if none can be found. Now that you think about it, a city or two comes to mind.

You should probably send ONE person to do the deed unless one of you were "fleet of foot"- so to speak.

I think it's likely that if we can make it to the center nexus in the terrain we can change it. The same probably holds true for the enemy, so we need to defend the city.

I like this plan, with a bit of modification. Move Bolo, create a city, and get Dankirk up in a safe spot so he can support Bolo. But also, have Kheanne use her mortar strike to assist as well. I say we put Dankirk south of Bolo so he's out of reach of the fiends. Put Bravo 2 in between Bolo and Goose so that we have a solid defense line and a nice boost to Bravo 2's stats.

As an amendment to the fielding statement.
City based Units can only be fielded from cities while warzone based Units can only be fielded from warzones we control etc unless the unit has no play requirement, in which case the default is that we control the area.

We also seem to have gained control of 3 Nexii if that means anything to you...

I gathered that much about summoning from the proper field.
Nexii would be nice if we knew what it did. All-around passive bonus? Meter for a super attack?

The next time we engage a fiend, let's invoke the nexii (however that works) and see what happens.

It likely has something to do with cards that require "this and 2 control"

In which case there are a lot of high cost cards we could use if we ever find them. Do you think we'll get more if we mill the enemy for them ?
    >> Anonymous 04/09/12(Mon)22:14 No.18645880

I think they're just a medium for altering the battlefield to our advantage, as well as placing down favorable tower bonuses (See HQ, Flag Banner, etc.) We don't want the enemy to get them because then they'll have terrain bonuses.

We'll work from the ground up with those smaller fiends.
Is Bolo able to plug that small fiend to the west from where he is? Do so if able.
At the same time, field Bazooka Jill with Rigorous Training (assuming maneuvers aren't cards; belay that order if they are).
What's that 4/1 unit directly beneath Bolo?
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)00:06 No.18647373
Okay, I think we should move Bolo one hex north and engage the the smaller fiend. We summon Jill and place her on the hex Bolo was previously on. Summon the 101st to take up a position next to the Bravo team on the east side. Then we provide mortar support to Jill which should hopefully give her enough of an attack boost to take out the larger fiend if it decides to move forward.
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)00:08 No.18647388
Alright two pertinent issues: If we do not continue to support the Eastern Bravo team with Mortar strikes, they will just get rolled by that massive specter. Meanwhile, we need to try and advance on the enemy.

We could have Bolo move North to take out that weaker specter but he wouldn't be able to salvage any tags it has without being left a sitting duck for the bigger one.
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)00:08 No.18647402
Jill with Rigorous Training should one-shot the big fiend (2/2 with training becomes 3/3, and Jill does double damage against enemies with >4 defense; big fiend has 6). She needs support if we're going to do that.

Dammit, Monday. You'd think doing a few extra pushups counts as rigorous. Sheesh.

Well, in that case, hold off on deploying Jill again. We need to take out that big fiend in a single volley. Deploy the two 101st Platoons towards the east and have them support the eastern Bravo Team. With a full retinue backing it up (Goose, Dankirk, and the two platoons), Bravo should have enough power to one-shot the big fiend once he gets into position.
Meanwhile, Bolo moves north and plugs the smaller fiend by himself.

    We have one problem,
we'd have to move the two units occupying those spaces to fullfill that plan.

    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)00:27 No.18647694
Well, if we end up holding position to consolidate forces (though that doesn't seem like a winning strategy, those blobs are only going to get bigger), we'd probably do the following:

    >Move the MDs into the city nexus
    >Call in the 101 to the E and W of the HQ (maybe Jill?)
    >Mortar Strike on E Bravo team

But if we're on the offense, looks more like:

    >Move Bolo N to engage the small blob
    >Deploy Jill to W of HQ
    >Mortar Strike on E Bravo team

This'll kill off the weaker blob while deterring the large one from engaging for one more turn (before it gets even larger).

Alternatively, we can sacrifice a unit to eliminate the largest blob right now. Sadly, that likely means we'd lose Bolo. Either that, or we could use the MDs with Mortar Strike and the bonus from cities...
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)00:28 No.18647710
Assuming that goop isn't harmful if we pass through it, we still need to clear a path for Goose to punch through.
I'd figured that was an issue, and I planned on shuffling enemies around, but if it's really that tight and cumbersome, then we'll just have to settle for serial volleys against the big guy.

    Fuck it.

The big fiend has only 6 defense, meaning we only need to do six damage to it to kill it, right?
Send Bolo NE and pop the big fiend in the face. He can survive a thwack from the smaller fiend and can promptly pump that one full of high-caliber rounds as well.

That last turn, a fiend was FIELDed, and using its MOVE, it stepped onto the same space as another fiend, automatically merging.
We don't know how many fiends are in their reserve, and I REALLY don't want to find out.

At least if we take out the big one now, we'll only have to deal with either another 8/6 next turn or two 4/3 fiends. If we drop the small one, they'll field a fiend, and it'll likely merge with the big one and become a 12/9 beast. 12/9 is far too stompy for my taste.
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)00:55 No.18648076
Once that 8/6 drops, Goose should start charging to capture the enemy nexus. He'll move out to the east, with the E Bravo Team as an escort for any monsters that decide to get uppity. If all goes well, it should only take two turns for Goose to charge into the enemy nexus and claim it.

Not quite the same, otherwise Bolo would've died in combat against that big beastie, rather than now when he got double-teamed.

I guess to put it in MtG terms, you can have multiple attackers, and all aggressors have first strike.

If we paradrop, what does it mean if a unit is placed face-down?
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)02:35 No.18649354
Paradrop the 101st onto the enemy nexus, then place down a warzone to replace their tar. Finally, engage the enemy with our now strengthened troop.
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)02:35 No.18649360

Can we get a comm tower up?

    >What does comm tower do?
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)02:37 No.18649383
A paradrop doesn't count as fielding, does it? If not, we can deploy the Radar Tower and the Comm System.

    >9. Radar Tower 0/6- Once Radar tower is played all non-allies turn their cards face up. Adjacent Allies Needed. x1
    leads to
    >23. Comm System/ Combat Doctrine- Allows for an extra Mov. Radat Tower Needed.
With the Comm System, we can stop dragging out feet and more readily march en masse.
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)02:39 No.18649405
And we would get our extra move action immediately. What needs moving up? Probably focus on the Bravos.
    >> Lt. Monday !9phgYvH10U 04/10/12(Tue)02:40 No.18649410

Ah yes, let me clarify, Units may place the comm tower adjacent to their location and it's not limited to Just the Nexii, but once it's down. It's good for the whole field.
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)02:43 No.18649437
    Ok, summary:

    >Paradrop 101st onto enemy nexus, replace with warzone - Play 1
    >Place Radar Tower somewhere, Apply Communications - Field 2
    >Move W Bravo and Jill up, Bravo to engage enemy with the 101, Jill to support Bravo - Move 2
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)02:44 No.18649447
    That was my thought.

Holy shit. We can end the battle on this turn.

Deploy the Radar Tower and Comm System in the SW hex of the Warzone.
    >We have two movements now.
Goose uses both movements to run to and capture the enemy nexus.
    >Enemy reinforcements are cut off.
ASSUMING ATTACKING AND CAPTURING ARE NOT USED BY THE SAME ACTION, Goose shoots the last fiend in the head himself.

    End of combat.
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)02:45 No.18649453

We could also use paradrop and you know, not risk our primary CO?
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)02:46 No.18649465
Or we could replace Goose with that Mobile Demo squad sitting in the southeast. They can also make the run to capture in a single turn.
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)02:51 No.18649526
As well as killing the offending fiend. Again, assuming capturing and attacking don't both use the same action.
    >> Lt. Monday !9phgYvH10U 04/10/12(Tue)02:51 No.18649529

Well gosh, Unless Goose can run a 40 in 10 seconds flat, I don't think that should be possible, sir. The Comm System makes us more coordinated, not faster.
    >> Lt. Monday !9phgYvH10U 04/10/12(Tue)02:52 No.18649548

I like this plan. It's 100 percent possible.
    We'll go with it.
    >> Anonymous 04/10/12(Tue)02:54 No.18649563

Since Comm System is a Combat Doctrine, it is activated as soon as the conditions are met.

We now have an extra move, Bravo, do your stuff !

At the center of the enemy's field, a cosmic hole could be found. It wasn't exactly something you intended to see after celebrating victory with your comrades but curiousity overtook you and your Lt.

And here it was, something no wider than a swimming pool, felt as if it had some kind of cosmic depth...

It was a little obtuse at first, especially with a bunch of people trying to throw strategies forward and questions not getting answered. I understand the game is meant to be learned as organically as possible, at least in this context. We (or at least I) don't like being unprepared, that's all.
