It seems the the experiment can begin in earnest.

But once a case has been chosen. For this run, three are apparent. Their fates interlinked.

A boy with potential he's yet to unlock. A quest for exploration and survival awaits.

A free spirit who has yet to affect the world with her expression. A mystic adventure in understanding the ways of the universe apparent.

A pariah at the edge of society and human nature. A coming of age story or perhaps a displaced human urge to survive.

The selection preference at this juncture will be democratic.

Play some groovy tunes, perhaps relax to some choice selection.

    Her name is Maria Millicent,
    Age 16

A wanderer of sorts, part poet. Born of two women through bone marrow insemination. It is the future where awesome things like this exist after all.

Her gentle yet encouraged upbringing has given her all the room to go about life with little to no restrictions. Such to the point that in her rebellious youth, she doesn't know what to rebel against. Her opinions ever bubbly. Nothing as pointed as a political debate crossed her radar.

Ever open minded, finding passion only in her craft, she hopes to apply it in more than just cosmic rhyme.

..... The experiment shall now commence.

Retaining one's state in the session is as easy as remaining active, alive, and of fit mental health.
When one enters the Etha, they exist in this shared space as if experiencing a dream. However unlike most dreams, the human mind is fully lucid of their current situation, allowing for a fully coherent and recalled experience.

Logging in and out: Like the Real, one can log out by mentally recalling an exit word which will then spontaneously transform the dreamer into a ping and log the player out. One can also choose to log out by sleeping in the Etha and thus synchronizing the session with your self in the Real. Otherwise one may continue the experience until a resolution is reached.

When faced with death, the player is then forced awake, incapable of sleeping or in this case returning to the dream for an indeterminate amount of time. Death trauma is serious and should be a sign not to play the game for a while. Consult your local Interactive Treatment center about rebooting your session or psychiatric support.

    2.3 Aftereffects
A player who has experienced their dream in full will register their experience as if it has happened in reality. Sans physical injury , mental repurcussions both positive and negative affect the dreamer. Out of game, and when unsycnronized with the universal session, the dreamer transmogrifies into their PING in the ETHA. [Not the Real]

    >> Monday !LknYcZ8tP2 12/22/11(Thu)15:09 No.17302247

Pirate quest was too linked to One Piece especially when it tried to be a setting apart from it. The setting for N0C in which the Etha takes place can actually address that world setting better, so its not a far shot that FIN or even Sw0rd Doctor can exist in this setting.

Zombie Quest will wait in the next year. Once I've wrapped up a skirmish quest or two. And I'm down to running 1-2 games a week. [I DM like crazy off the board] ZQ is one of those things that I want to reserve a day or two for so I can give it good consistent coverage.

N0C quest right now is sounding fun. It has a good chance of running I've also done THE MOST pre-work for the setting already. So it's good for a campaign or two.

    To a town, or something

Or maybe just fly for the sake of it.

Okay, we're outta the cloud cover. Let's level out and see if we can spot a town near us.

We pass the cloud layer , but our cloud wings begin to dwindle and so does Maria's concentration.

Down yonder is the distant blue of the world below, 2 islands and 2 curious lights making their way down to one of the continents.
    >> Anonymous 12/23/11(Fri)05:33 No.17309452
I suggest we try to use cloud wings to stabilize, and try to get closer to the other two lights.

We eyeballed that one was lightfast into the island proper, while the green one wobbled a little oddly and now veers to oceanic blues.

Paper birds happen to fly us by. As fast as the wind !

Our limited flight takes us close to the site of incident as possible however we must now resolve on the sensitive matter of making contact with the ground unpainfully.

Trees get a little too fun to paint.

Well let's begin to make our descent. If our wings hold up, let's try to land somewhere in the tree canopy.

    >> Anonymous 12/23/11(Fri)23:33 No.17316260
Let's aim for one of those clouds nearer to the big yellow cross and see if we can convince them to cushion our fall. Our wings don't seem to be holding up too well.
    >> Anonymous 12/23/11(Fri)23:39 No.17316319
Let's go near vertical over the near-island waters, a steep angle so we don't just snap our cloud wings but a close approximation to a vertical landing - using the flapping of our diminishing cloud wings to slow and control the descent so we have a coushioned landing, with the water handling the rest - not so far out that we'll be caught in the riptide and pulled away from shore.

    This is quite embarassing.
it would seem that roadtrips triple the gravity of conventional beds.

So needless to say I will be here trying to make the place a holdout zone meanwhilst killing privacy should this thing be a shared station.
