    I hope you have enjoyed last week's Hinzerhaus variety hour.

    This week we'll be addressing the meat consciencious Corpsiers out there by talking a little bit about the Pumpkin Jacks. Normally Corpsiers who had to entertain their various psychosis in wild agricultural landscapes turned to their produce to create capable farmhands after their slaves ate each other for unreported reasons.

    The Pumpkin Jacks being the most iconic of these creatures, With brambles for bodies, they are naturally useless when bound with a soul. However , creating a functional pumpkin jack is easy, as one simply has to create a human shaped bag to give them their shape.

    Due to the high amounts of phosphorous needed to fertizlie one, Pumpkin Jacks are very energetic on top of having the tendency to spread their seeds.

    Which creates clones.

    Trained Pumpkin Jacks as of late have the added ability to detonate. But this trait is hereditary. Blue, or Green Pumpkins for example are produced for their ability to grow twice as big as normal humans or outlast their warm tinted cousins in favor of more long term tasks.

    However much effort is being pitched that they should also learn to explode.

    Sorry to be such a bother, but I have a question about caster spells and some of their possible applications. Would I be allowed to use spells that, say, gather information on an area, detailed information about a small area, or increase the detail and usefulness of information on an already known area?

    If so, I was thinking I act like a Foreward Air Controller, sending info and (later, as I learn what I'm doing) recommendations to my allies?

    To that end, can I use spells to essentially "mark" targets for other players? Maybe could fluff it out as communing with my allies and transferring information about the target (like images, ideas, things like that) to said allies. Anything with an "improve communications" feel would be great!

    if you're thinking of infiltrating enemy lines and just looking through the fog of war and spotting targets, then an [S] with the serpent aspect would be the char for that; you'll have to earn the aspect first however [20 xp], which would take awhile as being too far ahead of the group can be very dangerous for low lvl chars

    when it comes to gathering specific detailed information, the [I] would fit the bill, they have an enhanced version of the "examine" action which can be used at farther distances

    [C]s are more versatile and can theoretically do anything, however, what they can do is highly dependent on the arrays placed on the map, which may require asking other players for help, which sometimes can get ignored
    also critical failure with certain spells can be very dangerous for the starting [C]
    [C]s require alot more thinking but can be the most effective unit in doing just about anything when played right

    also factor in aspects which can be mixed and matched
    i.e. earn a serpent aspect as a [S] then change class to [I] for a stealth investigator

    Wow, I hadn't realized that you can change classes! Alright then, that changes things! I want to be able to support other players and gather information, but I would rather be back with my comrades than on my own. I was really taking a liking to the engineers when I found out they come in squads of four! How long would it take to get 20xp?
    Also, I can't find stats for the engineer's cannon or stretcher. What can they do, and what potential does that stretcher give an engie squad in the medical role?
    If I start as a scout squad, pick up serpent aspect, then switch to engineer and go for termite, could I be a covert firebase? If I can only take one aspect, can I use termite to make heavy bunkers for cover and the treatment of the wounded?
    Also, I can't find info on spells; if I start as a caster and become skilled with this "lifespell" ability (which I am assuming has some healing capability), can I go engie/termite and make said bunker to treat the wounded?

    you can only take one aspect and it applies to all classes you change to

    20 xp can be acquired in one mission depending on how many phases you attend, how much kills/assists you make, and how many you can mooch off of other players

    being able to attend all phases of a mission can easily net you 10 xp sometimes a little more depending on how long the mission is so. . .

    stretchers are more like coffins and are more for resurrecting people(but they can also heal), provided you can recover the corpse(good luck)

    spells are freeform, requires a bit of creativity, what spells you can make is limited by the arrays you can tap

    being stationary is generally only ever useful during defensive missions
    a mobile unit would be much more versatile

    probably some sort of medivac set up if you're aiming for a support role
    i.e. a [T] vehicle upgraded/equipped with stretchers inside

    Yes you can buy more member for your squad. Upgrades do not follow when you change class and are limited to 6 by class. You can get 3 aspect upgrades that are more freeform than class upgrade but they must be approved by IC.

    I m also thinking of joining but I would like some info about the group. I see a hell lot of posts every time, there are many players but I always find these threads randomly when are these on?

    Other stuff, what classes are used most of the time? Do you have any which is missing and you would "need"? I mean for example say having too many of the same class would make it rather boring as classes seems to be complementing each other. Like say I was thinking something less straight combat oriented like Vanguard, Engineers, or Investigators.

    Also, does a fresh new recruit with starter stats have any chance in the battlefield today? I remember I saw an upgraded bitank who has to roll under 9 with D10 and has insanely high stats. Is that the standard or that is just an extreme example?

    That bitank is an extreme example (as is the major Isara) That's mostly because pilot have an easier time on the survival side (with technically two lives). As for survival it's a question of keeping to cover and look less treatening than other targets.

    Vanguard have a hard time being useful while starting, you're going to take hit for other people and die quickly.
    Engineer can be heal and repair bot to get tons of xp out of the system during normal fight.
    Inspector are middle ground, they are effective against everything but only for a set number of shot.

    Vanguards are pretty combat oriented actually. Our last Vanguard was a robot that, to quote some of the other players, would go "What needs killing? That?" and the next turn its dead.
    New Recruits can be as useful as veterans - especially on their first battle where they don't count towards the deployment limit.

    the game requires a bit of dedication as it tend to extend into the wee hours

    most veterans are either insomniacs, or night owls

    You know I m a sort of oddball when it comes to wargames usually almost always try the most unorthodox methods of play first. Which is usually oriented around non combat stuff or strange things. This often causes me to be bored or feel stupid but sometimes it gets awesome!

    vehicles do get destroyed, but are honestly the first target in combat, plus they take up a lot of Flag Points, which are used for deployment. We have a limit each battle. Infantry on the other hand take up relatively little FP and can be just as if not more effective when upgraded.

    As flames engulf his tank once more the mad Russian's grin only widens. The malicious smirk looking even more threatening than usual from the combined glow of the warning lights flashing from Vera and the trio of lit cigarettes sticking out of his mouth. Few would ever understand this behemoth of a man and now the flames he sought to cleanse everything with were about to ensure that no one would be offered the chance.

    The BiTank dubbed Vera cracked as it blew adding to the explosions around itself, the entire Vosskon train erupting in sadistic heat strengthened by the Time Traveler's Schema. Amid the roaring tongues of flame an eerie cackle rises noticeably in the deep baritone that was obviously Ghoul. It would seem he was off to face Death herself, perhaps chancing a kiss from the Goddess before being sent on his way to Hell or perhaps Valhalla if the Madman was lucky...


    However it seemed that fate was with the sociopath today as Vera's last gift to him activated, launching Ghoul skyward through the flames. His roaring laughter would not cease regardless as the heat washing over his body only to be replaced by an almost cold in comparison wind while descending once more to the ground.

    The still smoldering and aching everywhere Russian merely lays there on the palm of the train's robotic hand. Two of the three cigarettes he'd been smoking somehow still in his mouth as they add to the smoke wafting up from his body. It seems that surviving as well as landing didn't stop his laughing although he wasn't nearly as loud for the moment.

    Ghoul would have been content merely laying there as well if it weren't for Varro's kind gesture of bringing him onto the train.
