    Well that depends, if reinforcements in the form of Elementilists are going to poor out of the academy then planting a flag in front of it is very useful. Flags only require a direct line to where ever the reinforcement are coming from. Nothing says reinforcements can't come from more than one place.

    Of course if that's not going to happen then planting a flag there would be pointless, yes.

    Capturing the building only requires that one squad reaches it and has enough actions left to capture it. At least that's all it took to capture the bitank in Norwood.

    well honestly, i think the academy is more of a source of ENEMY reinforcement than anything else

    they did capture it and are presumably doing experiments in there so we can assume that they have established a fairly secure presence inside to make it very hard for a single unit to capture (probably a success rating of 1 or 3, maybe more if IC is feeling generous)

    of course it's also possible that the captured elementalists decided to fight as well so there is that

    in any case, it's a good idea to figure out what's up with the academy first

    i wouldn't call it a last stand, you have a very good chance of surviving actually

    as far as i can see, most of the enemies remaining are ghouls and [V]s, so you have the range advantage

    you're right on top of a flag point and [Hr]s can fire every phase so long as they stay put and don't do anything but fire and reload

    not to mention friendly reinforcement

    well the best way to get to the academy atm is the north approach

    the tank and sniper can engage those [M] and [A] squads

    the [S] to the south could take out the enemy [S]
