    /tg/, I require ideas for a craftworld's fluff.

So far, I've only decided on the name, Enohar, and this colour scheme.

I'm trying to think of an original concept for a CW, but all the bases seems to be covered by the official ones.

    >> Anonymous 05/27/11(Fri)15:50 No.15072943
Their craftworld was once the home to and origin of Arha, the original Phoenix Lord of the Striking Scorpions. This is not well known, as they try to keep it quiet, but it's impressed into every Eldar on the world that they must make up for his failure. Guilt complex out the ass, plus a twisted history.

Ooh, I like this. It's even mentioned in the codex that no-one knows where the original Scorpion Shrine was. Plus, as you said, massive guilt for Arha.

    >> Anonymous 05/27/11(Fri)15:57 No.15073032
That's the fucker, yeah. So if they can claim the one phoenix lord that's actually good, you can certainly claim the fuckup.

Does the craftworld overcompensate or undercompensate? Do they view it as their job to show the universe what a Striking Scorpion can be, or do they avoid the path that is now 'tainted'?
    >> Deathleaper's Fangirl !!YD/t8+iuFvd 05/27/11(Fri)15:58 No.15073039
You could always just say they suspect that he originated from that Craftworld. Perhaps they found a very large, very old ruined Striking Scorpion shrine that bore evidence of having taught Ahra's philosophies buried away in the catacombs below the Craftworld's outer shell?

They revere the Striking Scorpions. They're rare, as most occupants don't wish to fall to the same fate as Arha, but they have a small presence, although they are constantly monitored by the other aspects.

As it is, the Green and Turquoise are too similar. On the tabletop, they'll just blend into one big mass. Your best bet would be to take two colours that contrast one another without clashing.
    >> Anonymous 05/27/11(Fri)16:16 No.15073239
First, anything that is more than just two colours. Secondly, something that has more contrast. Mixing two colours you won't really tell apart unless you look hard is generally bad.

    So, so far for fluff:

An ancient Striking Scorpion shrine was discovered in the bowels of the craftworld, inspiring speculation that Enohar was the original home of Arha, the lost Phoenix Lord.

This has led to a vigilant monitoring of the existing Striking Scorpion forces on board by the other Aspects.
    >> Anonymous 05/27/11(Fri)16:44 No.15073565
For what reason? I think it looks very eldar. They're not covered in power armor and that's not how their colour scheme should look, either.

Look at the official eldar colours schemes, they look a lot more like that than like the one in OP.
    >> Voge Gandire !!XTu+8ESfHFY 05/27/11(Fri)16:45 No.15073580

    >> Anonymous 05/27/11(Fri)16:50 No.15073632
What the fuck? Both saim-hann and alaitoc has colours that clash worse than that picture. Black, red and white is about as much contrast as you get. No, wait, deep blue and bright yellow are worse.

That's a more dusky blue with an even more dusky grey/white. It's much more subtle than either saim-hann or alaitoc. Or what exactly do you mean by "busy"?
    >> Voge Gandire !!XTu+8ESfHFY 05/27/11(Fri)16:51 No.15073645

Like, too many things that are different colours. Most other craftworlds have, from the neck down, a single colour.
    >> Anonymous 05/27/11(Fri)16:55 No.15073683
Yes, but then those colours are always very highly contrasting. You can't pull it off with two colours that are almost the same.

If you want less contrasting colours, you need to get more funky with them, and preferably have more than two.
    >> Anonymous 05/27/11(Fri)16:56 No.15073692
but then again the offical craftworlds colour schemes are boring as all fuck, at least for the guardians.

Are we going for something along the lines of Enohar has lots of X and this influences the way they wage war? Or is it going to be a generic and unremarkable craftworld, I'm thinking the former, maybe very close ties to certain Exodite worlds and incorporate fucking dinosaurs into this somehow

a lost craftworld that vacated necron space. after a fierce encounter with the necron, most of the populous had been killed. The Warp Spiders of this craftworld had rescued the craftworld with the help of farseers to engineer the wraith bone of the craftworld to adapt the mindset of the parasitic warp spiders that lined the hull.

have escaped the onslaught of the necron assault, the farseers and warlock spend a millennia transfering the spirits of ttheir fallen brethern into wraith bodies.

after the Necron assault, the eldar of this craftworld developed a nack for close combat. as they turn necron artifacts into instruments of war.

    >> Anonymous 05/27/11(Fri)17:26 No.15074033
I like the idea of a lost and forgotten craftworld, personality wise they'd be nihilistic and forlorn (even moreso than your average eldar) Lots of wraithgaurd bodies just waiting for spirit stones, as a passtime they construct them knowing that one day they'll end up being plugged into them (something like making their own coffins only slightly more wraithgaurd related)

    >> Anonymous 05/27/11(Fri)17:33 No.15074122
Why not? They probably come off as far too down-to-earth and morbid to be adept manipulators, and they know they're already dead men, so to speak, so they might as well take out as many warp-spawned horrors as they can.

Also, methinks they'd mostly avoid fighting anyone other than Chaos or the Necrons. The other races just aren't a concern for them.

I think it'd go beyond untrusted probably into the realms of actual fighting against each other. The two craftwords have complete opposite viewpoints. I don't see Enohar having a problem with killing other eldar because in the end the less living eldar the quicker Ynnead will be born

    (Not really.)

So, if they're hostile to Biel-tan, this gives us an idea where the craftworld itself is located, around the south-east of the Segmentum Tempestus, which would also mean they're close to the path of Hive Fleet Leviathan.

Not completely, actually, that sounds too harlequin-ish.

Or, if you want a dreadful robed dude as their representation of Ynnead, dunno, more like the King in Yellow.

There's already Iyanden with this colour scheme, but I'm sure that making it look more bone-like and unhealthy would work fine. let me dick around with the painter.

ok so thus far we've figured out:
    their name
the fact they loathe wraith constructs and see them as something of a perversion against their future.
I do still like the idea of them making all these empty wraithgaurd/lord shells that they'll hopefully never have to use and having them almost like a statue garden deep in the heart of the craftworld

Most of the Eldar of Craftworld Enohar are stoically resigned to their fate; to die and herald Ynnead's birth. There are however individuals who do not share this sentiment, mainly youngsters, they will often leave the craftworld perhaps for years at a time becoming corsairs mercenaries or rangers. Inevitably as time passes they come to realise the futility of trying to escape their fate and are drawn back to the craftworld.
