Sleeper Bays 1-6 9-10 are now fully awake.
Automated Robots are currently on a scouting mission to our south for a place to start setting up civilization.
Housing kits are being prepared as we speak.

    Awaiting input, captain.

Get the housing kits set up. If able we should try to start farming and chopping down wood as soon as possible, so that we can get an infrastructure working as soon as possible.
    Also, fishing.

We have 20 housing kits, correct?

How many housing units per kit?
    >> Anonymous 06/15/10(Tue)15:04 No.10513528
Uggghh... building plans... that's gonna be tricky.
Ok so lets place the housing kits in as orderly as we can, not cluttered around all messy like. At some point we should also erect a wall around the housing to protect them against whatever may be in the area (constructed using wood if nothing else is available).

Also, what do have on weapons?
    >> AI !ObanGQEW7M 06/15/10(Tue)15:08 No.10513582
Captain, armament is currently 50 assault rifles, 5 SAWs, and one APC.

There are 20 housing kits. Each housing kit produces a single housing unit, which is large enough to hold 50 people.
    >> Anonymous 06/15/10(Tue)15:09 No.10513596
Damn, those kits are THAT big?
    >> Anonymous 06/15/10(Tue)15:11 No.10513615
The colony were supposed to consist of 1000 colonists.
With 200 having died in an accident during transit, It appears that we have some spares.

Station houses within central area of the possible area, within equal distance of every important aspect of the environment. Space them equally in this area, hopefully where there are strong foundations.
    >> Anonymous 06/15/10(Tue)15:13 No.10513646
Good to know that we have something to defend ourselves with.

Anyway, we should start putting up an appropriate amount of housings close to the river, so that we can access a water source more easily.

    I'm going to suggest this.

Use the spare kits for Two warehouses, One Power Plant (eventually, if we can get the damned reactor out of the ship), and one office (Every colony needs some sort of bureaucracy.

The housing kits have been constructed. Minor logging projects have been carried out by Automated Robots.

hmmm... looking at the size of the ship compared to everything else... AI, how effective would it be to cannibalize the ship for further building projects, or would it be better to just leave the thing whole for later?
    >> AI !ObanGQEW7M 06/15/10(Tue)15:43 No.10514135
Captain, cannibalizing the ship would prove very effective, but the current manpower and training prevents any real progress on this course of action at the moment.

Very well, for now we should use our (limited) logging to make a makeshift wall around the housings.
Sort of like in the picture.

Very well. We should be vary of how much of the forest we chop down. If possible, we should replant it every now and then until a larger source can be discovered.
For now, let's not waste it away.

Also, we should send an available robot or two to scout out the area further for a slightly extended time frame, so that we know more of our surroundings
    >> AI !ObanGQEW7M 06/15/10(Tue)15:56 No.10514354
Should we send it to the North, South, East, or West, Captain?

We should send one to the south, and one to the west. We'll find out about east later.

UPDATE: Captain, I've managed to adjust our clocks to what I believe to be the proper time and date based on current fuel supply, state of the crash site, and local time. It appears that this planet's day/night cycle can be timed by 18 Earth-hours.

    4:32 AM

Scouting progress has been impeded by rivers, and the mountain range. Not much new information has been gathered.
    >> Anonymous 06/15/10(Tue)16:20 No.10514745
So we've been asleep for 600 years? Ok... doesn't really change much in the grand picture for now.
Send two robots to the north instead, with orders to return in 36 hours.

Captain, it appears a large body of water is to our north. Strangely, neath the northern end of the river, there appears to be land cleared away. No signs of intelligent life has been picked up, however.
    >> Anonymous 06/15/10(Tue)16:31 No.10514882
Hmm... well that's interesting... Leave it for later, it appears we have a clear path to the west, send two robots, same time-frame as before.
See if we can get some farming started.
Also, are there any minerals of note in the surrounding area?

Alright. Last update for today. Need to leave soon.

    5:03 am

The river appears to cut in to the mountains at this point, captain. Otherwise, it's just a continuation of known geographical bodies.

We currently know of no notable minerals, as our robot scouts were unable to take a complete survey of the area.

That's ok OP, I wouldn't have been able to continue for much longer anyway, getting late where i live.

Fun keeping this thread alive... well... sort of alive.
